First, the good news: The service is very friendly and we really like the ambiance! We ordered a waffle with vanilla ice cream and a yeast dumpling with cherries, vanilla sauce, and poppy seeds. Unfortunately, the waffle simply tasted of egg, and the vanilla ice cream only had a hint of vanilla. The yeast dumpling was cold, dry, and hard. I honestly expected warm cherries (but it doesn't say so anywhere), so it was a challenge to cut it down with a fork and spoon. Unfortunately, the vanilla sauce didn't taste of vanilla to me either. After the table was cleared, I pointed out that they shouldn't add the second cappuccino that hadn't arrived to the table to the bill. The waitress apologized and said, "Of course, I'll take it out." When I ordered the bill, it said two cappuccinos, but the bill was subsequently deducted. They apologized again and offered me ONE espresso. Every table was occupied, and the entire team was busy, but given the prices charged here, I still expect perfection. Too bad, we're disappointed.

It was our first time at Christofs. The quality of the food was excellent. The service perfect. Unfortunately, the food had cooled down a bit when it was served (standing for a long time in/in front of the kitchen??). All in all we were very satisfied and will definitely come back

We have often been guests at the Christofs Restaurant in the historic Alt-Kaster and have always felt very well looked after. We celebrated our daughter's wedding there. Just the right atmosphere for a wedding. It was a completely successful experience from start to finish. The ambience is extremely tastefully designed, stylish and yet cozy. You immediately feel comfortable and welcome. The food was a real highlight: seasonal and regional products, freshly and cleverly prepared, lovingly prepared and tasted excellent. Every course was a pleasure - you immediately notice that the cooking here is done with a lot of passion and skill. The service at Christofs was also first class. The staff was always attentive, friendly and very accommodating. Every wish was fulfilled immediately. A restaurant that I can fully recommend – everything is just right here! Absolutely recommended!

We felt very comfortable! The advance. The food was sensational, from the starter to the dessert a delight! The digestif and espresso are also worth mentioning here, high quality and always a surprise! All in all a successful evening, which was very convincing in terms of the price-performance ratio! The food was very good. Unfortunately, combined with the slow service, it's not worth the money. The service was nice, but with the restaurant half full, we had to wait 10 minutes for tickets and 20 minutes for drinks and an hour for food after ordering, despite reservations. Luckily we weren't in a hurry, but the fact that we were very thirsty when ordering didn't seem to have any influence on the service. We sat not far from the bar and saw how slow work was going on here. What was so difficult about putting a bottle of water on the table? The service was very relaxed. Overall it's very familiar, you'll sometimes be spoken to straight away. As I said, the food was great, but extremely overpriced considering the standard of service of a simple restaurant... Ambience was modern.

We ate here on the recommendation of a colleague, and the food was truly exceptionally delicious and well-balanced. What wasn't right was the service as the evening progressed. The busier it got, the more often we had to call for a waiter, the tables were cleared later and later, and dessert and drinks didn't arrive at the same time, but rather at different times. Furthermore, the hot chocolate is a disgrace; despite complaining, we were served lukewarm foamed milk with a touch of cocoa powder, which is downright cheeky considering the price. Plus, with too many guests, it just gets loud.

Our absolute favorite restaurant. A very special plus point for us is the large selection of vegan dishes, as well as the regular change of these, so that it is never monotonous. The service is always very friendly. The prices are not low, but the chef ensures that the quality of the food is good. In fact, the dishes are small, but also allow for starters and desserts. And no one really needs to go out hungry, because if the portion isn't enough, you can ask for a second helping without being looked at askance.

Outrageous prices for small portions. Service could be significantly improved! The menu couldn't be made any cheaper... but the prices are exorbitant. It's a shame, everything tasted fresh and delicious.

Excellent food at an absolutely fair price. Here the boss himself is in the kitchen. All tables were occupied. You couldn't tell anyone was stressed, which is a great achievement by the staff. The boss also repeatedly came to the tables in person and when it was quieter late in the evening, he took time to talk to the guests and seemed very relaxed. We'll definitely be back! Thanks for the great evening.

Great restaurant, everything is very nice and newly furnished - yet cozy and well suited to the rustic inn. Despite the relatively small menu, you are spoiled for choice when it comes to food as there are still plenty of daily specials, one of which sounds better than the other. The fresh warm bread alone as a starter is already a dream with whipped butter and plenty of chives and cress. And the Kaiserschmarren for dessert, it's worth the sin, super tasty caramelized and with rum raisins, delicious vanilla ice cream, fresh fruit, everything is tip top. Always a pleasure, prices are a bit high but compared to what's on offer, it's extremely good value! There's also delicious Bolten Alt beer ;) - gladly again!

It's a pleasure every time we are guests at Christof's. The ambience is simply a dream – tasteful, high quality and full of charm. This year the outdoor seating was also completely renovated, making your stay even more pleasant. Here you can sit comfortably and enjoy the special atmosphere. The food at Christofs is simply excellent. The owner and chef Christof and his team prepare each dish with great attention to detail and present them visually appealing on fine porcelain. The menu, which changes every month, is complemented by a creative daily menu, ensuring that there are always new culinary experiences. The festive 5-6 course menus for Christmas and Easter are particularly a real highlight - a taste explosion that you won't quickly forget. Our numerous highlights include the fine tunatataki, crispy potato rostis with salmon tartare, the fine carpaccio, the refreshing melon and feta salad, the aromatic fish soup, the spicy tom kha gai, the Wiener schnitzel with warm potato salad, the fine turbot with shrimp and of course the legendary Kaiserschmarren with vanilla ice cream. The wine list also impresses with an excellent selection and a fair price-performance ratio. Service at Christofs is always attentive, with a friendly welcome and familiar faces ensuring your every need is met. We are just happy to have such a great restaurant nearby and we always enjoy coming back. Absolutely recommended!

We really liked the rooms and it was pleasantly warm in the restaurant. Since it became very crowded during lunch, the service had difficulty keeping up with the service, but this was understandable given the number of guests in relation to the number of waitresses. We enjoyed the food very much, so we will come back.

We ate here for the second time and were impressed again. The food tastes simply good and all components are freshly prepared. Soup, starter and main course tasted very well and were well seasoned. What is particularly positive is that there is not always one vegetable and one side dish, but rather a separate combination for each main dish. We are already looking forward to the next visit!!

Was here for the first time and first admired the Veganuary menu. I was already looking forward to the vegan alternatives, but when I saw that there was a special Veganuary card, I was thrilled. Starter, main course, dessert all perfect and very tasty. Service attentive, quick, waiting time for the courses was reasonable. All around satisfied and full. Gladly again

We were there on Sunday with 8 people for a family dinner. We cannot understand the glowing reviews from other guests. Our dishes tasted OK, but we weren't impressed. The portions are quite small, with a starter and main course you will be halfway full. A main course alone (even for €20-37) doesn't fill you up. In our opinion, the prices for this service are not appropriate. The children's menu, like everywhere else, is unimaginative: schnitzel, chicken, fries - supplemented by puree with vegetables. The service was ok. But not particularly friendly either. For us, Christofs will remain a unique experience. We won't be coming back.

The food was delicious as always. My girlfriend and I always find it very nice when Christof comes to the tables at the end of the evening and talks to the guests. If you want, you can ask the chef questions about the food. We always feel incredibly comfortable at "Christof's" and are curious about new dish variations.

The Christofs in Alt-Kaster, very difficult to rate - between 1 and 5 stars everything would be completely understandable for me. Here are the reasons: The atmosphere is great, we immediately felt at home. The service is good, although it can still be improved. My wife and I (we were at Christofs for the first time and probably the last time) asked each other after the meal how it was and we both replied: "Good!" But nothing more. My wife had the mustard roast for 36.50 and I had the ox cheeks for 28.50. Proud prices for a restaurant in the country. But it was relatively carelessly prepared. A lot more could have been done with it; as we all know, the eye eats too. The starter bread for 7 euros with butter is a warm roll that the guest has to cut open himself with a blunt knife - almost impossible. All in all, the visit was okay to good for us - if it weren't for the price - over 100 euros for 2 people with a bread as a starter, 2 main courses, no dessert, 2 glasses (0.15) of wine per person and a bottle of water : This is only possible in a big city, but not in the country. Since we had a voucher we only had to pay a small amount. For us, Christofs will probably remain a unique experience.

The food was very tasty and the selection of wines was really great. The two non-alcoholic versions were also very tasty. It was a shame that we wanted to sit in the wine cellar and when we made the reservation we were told that we would probably sit there alone and therefore the area would probably be closed that evening. When we arrived we asked again and were put somewhere else. Well, in the area where we were placed, we sat mostly alone. We thought that was a bit of a shame; in the end we weren't asked if we wanted anything else. We would have liked to drink something more.

We were at Christofs on December 25th and had the vegan Christmas menu. Both the food and the service were fantastic. We were more than satisfied and would like to come back. Many thanks again to the team for the wonderful evening :3

Very good vegetarian dishes - we were very surprised to find traditional vegetarian/vegan dishes on the menu and... what can you say? Certainly a culinary highlight in the area. Absolutely recommended. Service was friendly, the only point of criticism is that it gets very stuffy as the evening progresses - ventilation would help here.

Very cozy little restaurant in Alt-Kaster. The service is “casual” and friendly in the best sense of the word. The food is always of high quality. There is also a good selection for vegans. The vegan hollandaise tastes better than the normal version! Since the new chairs and tables for outside have been available, it's also great and comfortable to sit there! The service is also good. The only pain point: price and performance are not entirely consistent. For a dinner for two people you can easily spend €80-100 on the table. That's a bit much for a restaurant in the country. For this to happen, the service would have to be a little more attentive and the food a little more sophisticated. At times there is a lack of attention to detail. For example, the cutlery is in a cloth napkin. If you order a starter and need a napkin, you have to place the cutlery for the main course on the bare table top. There is hardly any question about empty glasses; you usually have to get the waiter's attention. Occasionally the drink order is forgotten. The Käsespätzle are simply baked with cheese: dry on top, watery on the bottom. The potato salad is good, but always a little too savory. Basically a recommendable restaurant. Definitely go!

Christofs was recommended to us. We were there with 5 people, every single person was absolutely thrilled with the food and the service. The place was full, but this had absolutely no impact on the food or service. It was just a little louder in the restaurant.

We chose “Christofs” for dinner based on the recommendations of some friends. I know the inn as such from when I lived in Alt-Kaster. I don't like the renovation at all, it's uncomfortable and loud. The service staff is attentive, the menu is enough to fill you up, but they do not respond to any customer requests (changing the dish). My dish of the evening - a salad plate - was presented carelessly and unappetizingly, with a lackluster taste. At least my companion liked the Rösti. The volume in the restaurant increased as the number of guests increased; conversation was impossible, so we quickly left the building after paying. For us it means: never again!

An owner-run restaurant with an uncomfortable interior, very nice boss and staff and fantastic food. Everyone will be happy here: whether meat eaters, fish lovers, vegetarians and vegans. Here you can find classics of German cuisine cooked in such an authentic way and also in a vegan version. GREAT!

An excellent meal. Great quality, very suitable for vegans! We also had mussels, duck breast, the best Viennese schnitzel I've ever eaten...! Absolute recommendation! There was even an espresso macchiato with oat milk and vegan biscuits! Will definitely come back!

The prices for the food are simply outrageous. I had the hamburger, which was okay so far, but for a price of €22, there should at least be enough French fries to fill you up. These are not a particular cost factor for the host. There was also no side salad and the ratatouille vegetables mentioned on the menu were barely there (garnished minimally on the burger patty). My wife was happy with her vegetarian dish, but again it wasn't enough to fill her up. Then dessert. A creme brulee for 9 (!) euros and about one cm high, so almost nothing in it. Something else about the prices of the other dishes: small schnitzel €27, large €35 and this is one of the inexpensive options. If that doesn't fill you up, then cheers meal. But we won't try it anymore. Since this is supposed to be fine dining, it should also be noted that we were eating as a couple late in the evening and the table lights weren't even turned on. The service wasn't particularly attentive or friendly considering there wasn't much going on.
