Unfortunately, we didn't particularly enjoy our Wednesday evening visit. The four dishes we ordered were generally satisfactory to good. However, with the veal strips, you had to practically hunt for the meat – it was more reminiscent of a mushroom strips. It's a shame, especially since the prices are quite high. We sat inside, where the service was unfortunately neither attentive nor particularly friendly. Overall, a rather disappointing impression.

What a find. in the little hamlet behind the hotel, we found this fabulous restaurant. The menu choice allows everyone to enjoy food here. We had the cod and the steak, both cooked beautifully. Service was first class with very helpful and friendly staff. Despite the language barrier, we were very well looked after. The wine and beer were first class too. Go eat here. You will not be disappointed. Thank you for a wonderful evening, great food and service.

At first, we thought: It's a shame that the old pancake restaurant is gone, but what's become of it makes us forget it. The setting of the old Kaster restaurant is hard to beat, but the selection and preparation of the food is up there, at least on our first visit. We'd love to come back!

Unfortunately, I was blinded by the many positive reviews, or it was simply a bad day for the restaurant. We were in the restaurant for over three hours and (apart from the first order) weren't asked once if we wanted more drinks. After we ordered our food, there was silence again. After about an hour, we finally received our food. Unfortunately, the dish was tasteless and didn't live up to the overpriced price. No one at the table enjoyed it; it was just nice to look at. A shame for such a restaurant with such a great location.

We went to Christofs for the first time on Saturday. Friendly and attentive staff. And really good food. The price/performance ratio is definitely right here. We sat outside, and unfortunately, it occasionally smelled a bit like a sewer, which isn't the restaurant's fault, but it was still unpleasant, and you sit very close together. Otherwise, everything was great.

You can tell the chef is a professional. A few things went wrong with the service, but they apologized politely. We sat outside and it was fine. Next time, I'll take a look inside the restaurant. However, I still need to ask about the water. We'll be back.

Not the first time, and not the last. Yesterday, six of us celebrated our birthday at Christofs. Every dish was beautifully presented, fresh, and, for me, tasted perfect. We had sea bream with gnocchi, cured radishes, and braised cucumber, veal strips with chanterelle mushrooms, and beef short ribs with risotto and pear compote. The drinks came quickly, and we were always asked immediately if something was empty to reorder. The waiters were, as they say, perfectly unobtrusive. The ambiance in Alt-Kaster is also quaint and cozy. You immediately feel like you're in a kind of upscale pub atmosphere, where you can easily slip into a relaxed party mood with great and constantly changing dishes. Actually, a 6 out of 5.

It's great that something like this still exists (or is back). The quality of the dishes on offer is consistently exceptional. The owner also personally attends to his guests—when the volume of guests allows.

We were looking for a table for 8 people at a restaurant at short notice and found one here. None of us knew the restaurant, and based on reviews, we had no idea what to expect, as some were satisfied, others weren't. We were initially surprised by the beautiful ambiance and immediately felt at home. We were served promptly, and drinks arrived promptly. The service was extremely friendly and courteous. In addition to the à la carte menu, there was also a daily/weekly special. Despite the limited menu, it was difficult for us to choose. We were all very satisfied with our choices. The food was delicious, the portions were sufficient, and the price was reasonable. We don't understand why some people think the prices are overpriced (city prices). As if you spend less money in the village than in the city (I don't understand the comparison in a review). I had corn-fed chicken with risotto, asparagus, and chanterelle mushrooms for €24.50. I can calculate the value of the food and think the price is reasonable. There was also dessert, and that was also very tasty. The chef from the kitchen came to each table and asked if everything was okay. Keep it up... great concept, great service, delicious food! We'll be back!

Das Bedienungspersonal arbeitete sehr professionell. Insgesamt können wir bestätigen, dass wir einen schönen Abend in diesem Hause verbracht haben.

First, the good news: The service is very friendly and we really like the ambiance! We ordered a waffle with vanilla ice cream and a yeast dumpling with cherries, vanilla sauce, and poppy seeds. Unfortunately, the waffle simply tasted of egg, and the vanilla ice cream only had a hint of vanilla. The yeast dumpling was cold, dry, and hard. I honestly expected warm cherries (but it doesn't say so anywhere), so it was a challenge to cut it down with a fork and spoon. Unfortunately, the vanilla sauce didn't taste of vanilla to me either. After the table was cleared, I pointed out that they shouldn't add the second cappuccino that hadn't arrived to the table to the bill. The waitress apologized and said, "Of course, I'll take it out." When I ordered the bill, it said two cappuccinos, but the bill was subsequently deducted. They apologized again and offered me ONE espresso. Every table was occupied, and the entire team was busy, but given the prices charged here, I still expect perfection. Too bad, we're disappointed.

We have often been guests at the Christofs Restaurant in the historic Alt-Kaster and have always felt very well looked after. We celebrated our daughter's wedding there. Just the right atmosphere for a wedding. It was a completely successful experience from start to finish. The ambience is extremely tastefully designed, stylish and yet cozy. You immediately feel comfortable and welcome. The food was a real highlight: seasonal and regional products, freshly and cleverly prepared, lovingly prepared and tasted excellent. Every course was a pleasure - you immediately notice that the cooking here is done with a lot of passion and skill. The service at Christofs was also first class. The staff was always attentive, friendly and very accommodating. Every wish was fulfilled immediately. A restaurant that I can fully recommend – everything is just right here! Absolutely recommended!

The food was very good. Unfortunately, combined with the slow service, it's not worth the money. The service was nice, but with the restaurant half full, we had to wait 10 minutes for tickets and 20 minutes for drinks and an hour for food after ordering, despite reservations. Luckily we weren't in a hurry, but the fact that we were very thirsty when ordering didn't seem to have any influence on the service. We sat not far from the bar and saw how slow work was going on here. What was so difficult about putting a bottle of water on the table? The service was very relaxed. Overall it's very familiar, you'll sometimes be spoken to straight away. As I said, the food was great, but extremely overpriced considering the standard of service of a simple restaurant... Ambience was modern.

We ate here on the recommendation of a colleague, and the food was truly exceptionally delicious and well-balanced. What wasn't right was the service as the evening progressed. The busier it got, the more often we had to call for a waiter, the tables were cleared later and later, and dessert and drinks didn't arrive at the same time, but rather at different times. Furthermore, the hot chocolate is a disgrace; despite complaining, we were served lukewarm foamed milk with a touch of cocoa powder, which is downright cheeky considering the price. Plus, with too many guests, it just gets loud.

I ate in the restaurant for the second time on Sunday and it was again very tasty. Very nice service and very tasty dishes, with a changing daily menu.

Our absolute favorite restaurant. A very special plus point for us is the large selection of vegan dishes, as well as the regular change of these, so that it is never monotonous. The service is always very friendly. The prices are not low, but the chef ensures that the quality of the food is good. In fact, the dishes are small, but also allow for starters and desserts. And no one really needs to go out hungry, because if the portion isn't enough, you can ask for a second helping without being looked at askance.

Excellent food at an absolutely fair price. Here the boss himself is in the kitchen. All tables were occupied. You couldn't tell anyone was stressed, which is a great achievement by the staff. The boss also repeatedly came to the tables in person and when it was quieter late in the evening, he took time to talk to the guests and seemed very relaxed. We'll definitely be back! Great restaurant, everything is very nice and newly furnished - yet cozy and well suited to the rustic inn. Despite the relatively small menu, you are spoiled for choice when it comes to food as there are still plenty of daily specials, one of which sounds better than the other. The fresh warm bread alone as a starter is already a dream with whipped butter and plenty of chives and cress. And the Kaiserschmarren for dessert, it's worth the sin, super tasty caramelized and with rum raisins, delicious vanilla ice cream, fresh fruit, everything is tip top. Always a pleasure, prices are a bit high but compared to what's on offer, it's extremely good value! There's also delicious Bolten Alt beer ;) - gladly again!

The ambience is simply a dream – tasteful, high quality and full of charm. This year the outdoor seating was also completely renovated, making your stay even more pleasant. Here you can sit comfortably and enjoy the special atmosphere. The food at Christofs is simply excellent. The owner and chef Christof and his team prepare each dish with great attention to detail and present them visually appealing on fine porcelain. The menu, which changes every month, is complemented by a creative daily menu, ensuring that there are always new culinary experiences. The festive 5-6 course menus for Christmas and Easter are particularly a real highlight - a taste explosion that you won't quickly forget. Our numerous highlights include the fine tunatataki, crispy potato rostis with salmon tartare, the fine carpaccio, the refreshing melon and feta salad, the aromatic fish soup, the spicy tom kha gai, the Wiener schnitzel with warm potato salad, the fine turbot with shrimp and of course the legendary Kaiserschmarren with vanilla ice cream. The wine list also impresses with an excellent selection and a fair price-performance ratio. Service at Christofs is always attentive, with a friendly welcome and familiar faces ensuring your every need is met. We are just happy to have such a great restaurant nearby and we always enjoy coming back. Absolutely recommended!

We ate here for the second time and were impressed again. The food tastes simply good and all components are freshly prepared. Soup, starter and main course tasted very well and were well seasoned. What is particularly positive is that there is not always one vegetable and one side dish, but rather a separate combination for each main dish. We are already looking forward to the next visit!!

Since it became very crowded during lunch, the service had difficulty keeping up with the service, but this was understandable given the number of guests in relation to the number of waitresses. Was here for the first time and first admired the Veganuary menu. I was already looking forward to the vegan alternatives, but when I saw that there was a special Veganuary card, I was thrilled. We were there on Sunday with 8 people for a family dinner. We cannot understand the glowing reviews from other guests. Our dishes tasted OK, but we weren't impressed. The portions are quite small, with a starter and main course you will be halfway full. A main course alone (even for €20-37) doesn't fill you up. In our opinion, the prices for this service are not appropriate. The children's menu, like everywhere else, is unimaginative: schnitzel, chicken, fries - supplemented by puree with vegetables. The service was ok. But not particularly friendly either. For us, Christofs will remain a unique experience. We won't be coming back.

The food was delicious as always. My girlfriend and I always find it very nice when Christof comes to the tables at the end of the evening and talks to the guests. If you want, you can ask the chef questions about the food. We always feel incredibly comfortable at "Christof's" and are curious about new dish variations.

The Christofs in Alt-Kaster, very difficult to rate - between 1 and 5 stars everything would be completely understandable for me. Here are the reasons: The atmosphere is great, we immediately felt at home. The service is good, although it can still be improved. My wife and I (we were at Christofs for the first time and probably the last time) asked each other after the meal how it was and we both replied: "Good!" But nothing more. My wife had the mustard roast for 36.50 and I had the ox cheeks for 28.50. Proud prices for a restaurant in the country. But it was relatively carelessly prepared. A lot more could have been done with it; as we all know, the eye eats too. The starter bread for 7 euros with butter is a warm roll that the guest has to cut open himself with a blunt knife - almost impossible. All in all, the visit was okay to good for us - if it weren't for the price - over 100 euros for 2 people with a bread as a starter, 2 main courses, no dessert, 2 glasses (0.15) of wine per person and a bottle of water : This is only possible in a big city, but not in the country. Since we had a voucher we only had to pay a small amount. For us, Christofs will probably remain a unique experience.
