Always a pleasure. Great food, pleasant atmosphere, friendly service. My only criticism would be the service. Depending on who is serving, they hardly pay attention to empty drinks and ask if you want anything else. Sometimes long waiting times. Nevertheless, it has always been great for us there.

So many vegan options in a lovely little village, staff friendly, nicely decorated, worth the prices. :-)

I had high expectations of “Christofs Restaurant” because it presents itself as a modern inn with a focus on craftsmanship, regionality and sustainability. Unfortunately our visit on a Thursday evening was a bitter disappointment. First of all, we had to wait over an hour for our food, which is absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant in this price range. The food wasn't served and we left the restaurant after over an hour. The service also left a lot to be desired: the boss was rude and hardly responded to our legitimate complaint about the long waiting time. Instead of apologizing, they argued with us for over five minutes, which is completely inappropriate. Another negative point was the “bread and butter” being charged at an outrageous price. In most good restaurants, something like this is served free of charge as a greeting from the kitchen - but here it becomes a real rip-off. In addition, the water was sparkled in the restaurant itself and charged almost 7 euros per bottle. For this price you would at least expect special quality, which was definitely not the case here. In summary: overpriced, poor service and poor quality. A visit to "Christof's Restaurant" was a bitter disappointment for us. We definitely won't be coming back.

Highly recommended: It was particularly great that there were so many creative vegetarian and vegan dishes on the menu + the owner personally came to the tables, it's always nice to get to know the chefs.

A nice restaurant in a lovely little old town. The location is great and you can sit in here as well as outside. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is really good too. We sometimes had the steak, but unfortunately it wasn't cooked to the right level as desired, but it tasted good. Otherwise you can sit comfortably here and the place invites you to linger. We think the price is a bit too high, but the quality is definitely good. In our opinion, the Kaiserschmarrn, which can be flambéed upon request, should be served at the table. This is just a small friendly note. There are not a lot of parking spaces, but they are sufficient.

The menu had already appealed to me more. Meat dishes a bit “expected”. Nevertheless, good cuisine. Unfortunately a bit loud this evening.

We had an appetizer together, the small potato pancakes, which tasted delicious. For the main course I had the mustard roast, which I really enjoyed. The portion looked a bit measly at first, but in retrospect it was just right. For dessert we both had the Kaiserschmarn, which we both really enjoyed. All in all a successful evening, we would love to come back.

We were able to enjoy very tasty, fresh, regional food. A manageable menu with something for everyone.

Unfortunately we found ourselves in front of a locked door at 1 p.m. on Sunday. There was no notice, neither on the homepage nor at the exit at the door. Actually, according to the opening times, it is open all day on Sundays (just not the kitchen). Very unfortunate.

The food was incredibly good. The service friendly and attentive. The chef was even personally at the table and asked if everything was to our satisfaction. We will be back definitely! Addendum: we were there again and it was at least as tasty. Addendum: we've been there several times now, this time with my parents, everyone really enjoyed it.

Why do we give 5 stars? Quite simply, we have been here several times, but on our last visit with our daughter, who is vegan. We (all!) were really excited about the vegan dishes. So if you're looking for a restaurant that also has great things for vegans (i.e. more than salad and pasta with tomato sauce), then you're in absolutely good hands here at Christofs. Of course we'll be back!

Alt-Kaster is worth seeing in and of itself, but the former pancake house is still THE address for a cozy break in the middle of the historic city center. We recommend! Even if a room with culinary provisions is needed for family celebrations or similar, we plan a nice evening for the guests together.

We ordered catering for a private party. Everything worked perfectly. Mr. Hölscher responded to all requests (e.g. vegan, no onions, no nuts) and conjured up dishes that both tasted good and were wonderful to look at. We were thrilled and would be happy to recommend Mr. Hölscher and his team. Thank you for helping to organize a lovely evening.

Tolles Ambiente und sehr kreative Speisen, besonders toll für Vegetarier und Veganer. Es gibt von vielen Gerichten eine vegane Variante, die auch den Fleischliebhabern schmeckt. Die Karte wechselt oft und es gibt einige Tagesgerichte. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und bereitet dem Gast einen tollen Abend. Die speziellen Ingwergetränke sind auch super lecker! Sehr zu empfehlen! Die Küche versteht ihr Handwerk! Das Restaurant ist wirklich einen Besuch wert!

Very friendly staff; Restaurant in the car-free historic city center, but more importantly: top quality food and service! We had the schnitzel with lukewarm potato salad. This was one of the best schnitzels I have ever eaten. Likewise the potato salad. Absolute consumption recommendation! Our special request for the dessert selection (according to the menu 3 small desserts plus espresso; we asked for a 4th small dessert instead of the espresso) was very happy to be fulfilled. Small orange cakes, baked strawberries in beer batter, two flavors of ice cream - everything was great. The journey from Cologne was definitely worth it. I would love to come back.

Great food, very nice hosts, great ambience

We were not only very impressed by the quality and sophistication of the dishes on offer. We mostly chose the offers from the day menu. The butter mackerel was a sensation. The service is very attentive and not intrusive at all. We never thought we would find such a quality restaurant in this rather unspectacular region. Very cozy little restaurant in Alt-Kaster. The service is “casual” and friendly in the best sense of the word. The food is always of high quality. There is also a good selection for vegans. The vegan hollandaise tastes better than the normal version! Since the new chairs and tables for outside have been available, it's also great and comfortable to sit there! The service is also good. The only pain point: price and performance are not entirely consistent. For a dinner for two people you can easily spend €80-100 on the table. That's a bit much for a restaurant in the country. For this to happen, the service would have to be a little more attentive and the food a little more sophisticated. At times there is a lack of attention to detail. For example, the cutlery is in a cloth napkin. If you order a starter and need a napkin, you have to place the cutlery for the main course on the bare table top. There is hardly any question about empty glasses; you usually have to get the waiter's attention. Occasionally the drink order is forgotten. The Käsespätzle are simply baked with cheese: dry on top, watery on the bottom. The potato salad is good, but always a little too savory. Basically a recommendable restaurant. Definitely go!

Nice restaurant with friendly service. As vegans, we were very happy about the large selection of vegan dishes; from starters to desserts, there were always several alternatives to choose from. But the meat eaters also got their money's worth and praised the food very much. We would all love to come back.

The food was good, but the service was unfortunately very inattentive. Drinks only came after the appetizer and those were pretty much the only drinks for the evening. We were not asked at all if we would like something to drink, nor were we offered dessert or coffee... The service managed to ignore us the whole evening...

Great ambience. The service is friendly and attentive. But above all, we were impressed by the creative and high-quality food. I have intolerances that have been taken into account. The dish was modified accordingly without this causing any problems. And it was incredibly delicious!

Tasty food, clean restaurant and nice toilets

It's always nice to come here, the service is simply nice and courteous, we always feel very comfortable, the selection of drinks is extensive and special, not the usual everywhere. The menu has fixed dishes that are always available, plus dishes that change every two weeks and there is also a daily menu. But all dishes have one thing in common: they are special in the combination of ingredients and also in the preparation. In addition, some dishes are vegan or are offered in a vegan version - and not just by omitting non-vegan components but by using a tasty replacement. This also applies to the wines on offer. All in all, always a great time here with very tasty food and great drinks. Highly recommended 👍

Very nice atmosphere, but the price-performance ratio is not right at all! The schnitzel was much too small and didn't really fill you up. Asparagus not peeled properly, you were still chewing on the peel; Potatoes had black spots. We ordered sweet potato fries and got regular fries. When we asked, we got the sweet potato fries. Service was totally overwhelmed, we waited more than an hour for the food... we had to point out to the service that we were out of drinks, it's a shame that a service staff didn't notice something like that themselves. My conclusion: Definitely not again, it's not worth my money! I'm sorry.

Such a cozy restaurant with great food, friendly service and great advice. Everyone will find their favorite dish here and, as a vegan, I have a large selection of dishes, unlike most restaurants. Thank you very much, I'll always be happy to come back.

Seit Mitte 2022 eine tolles neues Restaurant Bedburg-Kastern. Der junge Koch Mitte 30, kommt gebürtig aus Grevenbroich und zählt für mich bereits zu den Shooting Stars in Rhein Erftkreis, ja, jung, dynamisch, kreativ, seine Küche passt zu der Preisgestaltung. Bei den Getränken sollte er nochmals überdenken, da das Verhältnis von Wein zum Bier stimmt. Bier, 0,3 zu 2,00 EUR zum Verhältnis 0,1 Wein zu 6,50. Fas stimmt nicht. Aber er wird noch drauf kommen. Alles Gute und viel Erfolg für die Zukunft. Kommen wieder. Danke Christof‘s 🙏

Schlechter Service,. Schon die Getränke werden nicht auf einmal gebracht. Es braucht eine Erinnerung, damit die beiden Softdrinks auch serviert werden. Vorspeise kommt gar nicht, wurde vergessen, wie wir auf Nachfrage erfahren. Hauptgänge: Das Fischgericht war kalt, wurde nach Reklamation erneut lauwarm geliefert.Die Fischstäbchen kommen viel später und wieder erst auf Nachfrage. Der Spargel war schlecht geschält, die Hollandaise knapp bemessen und geronnen. Die Schnitzel waren trocken und die Senfkruste auf dem Senfrostbraten matschig. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis unangemessen.

Christofs is cozy and, although it serves finer dining, casual. The service was nice and the food was fantastic. It is clearly declared that it can be vegetarian, vegan or vegan. So everyone can find something to eat here. Dogs are allowed and in summer you can sit outside. We've been there several times in the last year, for larger family meals or just for 4 or 5 people, and have always been satisfied. It's great that there is traditional food in the region that has been implemented in such a modern way!

Wir waren am Wochenende zum ersten Mal hier essen. Das Christofs ist ein gemütliches Gasthaus aus klassischen und modernen Elementen. Die Gerichte in der Karte sind fast alle auch vegetarisch und vegan zu bestellen. Für uns als vegan lebende Menschen war es eine schöne Erfahrung, abseits von Bowls und Mensabestuhlung ein leckeres Essen zu bekommen. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich, das Essen gut und die Atmosphäre entspannt. Das Konzept des Restaurants, für alle ganz unkompliziert aus der Karte wählen zu können hat uns gut gefallen.Wir werden bestimmt wieder dort essen.
