Chinarestaurant Pagoda in Göttingen

We visited the Pagoda restaurant for the first time yesterday and were absolutely thrilled. We usually go to a different Chinese restaurant in Göttingen, but this time we tried Pagoda and it was absolutely worth it! Even though we arrived without a reservation, we received a friendly welcome and were immediately shown to a nice table. The buffet selection was huge and was constantly being refilled. We particularly want to highlight the sushi, which was a real highlight for us – fresh, varied, and very tasty. The hot dishes were also impressive, with something for every taste. We loved the bite-sized cake pieces: This allowed us to try different varieties without having to leave anything over if it wasn't quite to our liking. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, and the service was always attentive, friendly, and courteous. We felt very comfortable and are certain that this won't be our last visit to Pagoda – we highly recommend it!

We ate at the buffet here. Some things were incredibly good, others were average. All in all, we enjoyed it.

I visited in 2023. It's a nice open buffet restaurant where people from all over the world can find food. The seafood dishes are wonderful, the meat dishes are delicious. If you ever cross paths, definitely visit a nice Chinese restaurant.

Very tasty food and a lovely atmosphere. Always friendly staff. Parking is always a bit tight, though, so be prepared to spend a while looking for a spot.

A very delicious buffet, including dishes I've never had at any other Chinese restaurant. You have to like octopus and pork belly 😉. I haven't even seen such a large selection of dishes in Hamburg...I would particularly like to highlight the beef and lamb from the Mongolian buffet.

The food was very good, but eleven-year-olds are already paying full price. My child ate a plate of chicken nuggets and fries. It's outrageous to count that as an adult.

Once again, it was delicious, and there was a huge selection. The staff was very friendly and attentive when it came to refills. Highly recommended.

A very good Chinese restaurant. It was a treat!

We went there with the family today to eat. After a bird pooped on our table inside, we alerted the staff. The bird pooped on the bench, feathers flew into the food and drinks, and the sparrow also threw dirt down, which also landed in the food. Despite repeated warnings, the staff did nothing. We didn't get a drink or a discount, which I find disappointing. It wasn't particularly hygienic either. It's a shame, so only 1 star.

The food is delicious, but I find it rather cheeky to require at least one drink per person if you want to eat buffet style. I'm not allowed to drink with my meal and I'm not supposed to!

The atmosphere is always friendly. The food is very varied and varied. I find it expensive; five people, including drinks and Coke, paid €160. I like going there and can only recommend it 🙂

I come here every two years with my family and every time I experience the same thing: top dishes, top buffet, top service, top orientation.

The buffet was very varied and of very good quality. The price was surprisingly reasonable (about €44) for two people. That could also have been due to the time of day. I was expecting a lot more, as I'd been told the Pagoda was expensive. My impression was positive, and it probably won't be my last visit there.

Anlässlich des Geburtstag meiner Frau hatten wir im Freizeit Inn ein 4 GangMenü. Es war wirklich super lecker, die einzelnen Teller mit viel Hingabe zelebriert und dekoriert. Ganz toll. Das Angebot bestand aus einem Gläschen Sekt, einen Weinglas 0,2 l, einer Vorspeise, Zwischengang, Hauptspeise und Nachspeise. Eine Kaffespezialität war auch noch inklusive. Dazu gab es am Anfang noch einen üppigen Gruß aus der Küche. Alles super. Das ganze wurde begleitet und betreut von einer jungen hübschen talentierten Bedienung, sie war das perfekte Etwas was man/ Frau dazu gerne geniest. Bravo 👏🏻🤩

We were passing through because we were held up in traffic on the A7. We ordered a la carte, and the food was ready in no time. Service was friendly, and the restaurant was busy. I can recommend it.

We went there again last night for the buffet. The quality has declined significantly...the value for money is no longer there! €27.90 per person for the buffet...even though the quality of the food has declined significantly. We paid €87.80 for two people including drinks...and I had persistent diarrhea afterward. I suspect it was the greasy chocolate fountain; it was really unpleasantly dirty...

We, the Kurschat travel family, visited your restaurant on July 8, 2025, with about 30 people. We received a very warm and friendly welcome. When we saw the lunch buffet, our eyes widened and our mouths fell open. We had never seen anything so rich, varied, and tastefully presented. The service was very friendly and prompt. Many thanks to everyone who works in front of and behind the scenes. Everything was clean. A visit to your restaurant is highly recommended. A huge selection of dishes, everything your heart desires when you go to an Asian restaurant.

The buffet is excellent, there is a bit of everything and the desserts have a really large selection

I was pleasantly surprised. The trend is towards smaller restaurants, and the Pagoda is huge with an incredibly wide selection of dishes. Plus, there's a Mongolian grill and freshly prepared sushi. It was busy, but you didn't have to wait in line for long. The food was very good and, compared to other restaurants of this type, the quality was simply better. Special praise goes to the service: attentive and quick. Nobody seemed stressed, despite the high occupancy, and there was always a smile. It was clean, too, and they kept it that way every now and then. There was plenty of sweet treats, too, so the kids loved it too. If you like buffet food, this is the place for you.

One of the best Asian buffet restaurants in Göttingen! You can also order individual dishes here without booking the buffet. We went for the evening buffet (€29.70 per person, drinks extra) and were truly impressed. The selection is huge: there are vegetarian dishes, various meats, game, and exotic meats, as well as numerous types of fish freshly grilled. Plus, there are plenty of delicious sauces that go perfectly with rice or noodles. Desserts are also a treat: various fruits, ice cream, small cakes, and other sweets are available. Sushi fans will also get their money's worth – there's a sushi belt with many variations. I particularly like that you can sit inside and outside, and there's enough space for larger groups (I recommend making a reservation, though). Although the restaurant is always busy, the staff are friendly, attentive, and helpful. You can pay with cash or card. I definitely recommend the evening buffet!

We love coming back every year. The buffet leaves nothing to be desired. The food always tastes wonderful, and the staff is always super friendly. Even during the coronavirus pandemic, there were good solutions for dining on-site. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Highly recommended. They have great dishes, or you can have something fried. Simply delicious! Excellent service! There's a children's playground so parents can eat in peace!

Sehr umfangreiches Buffet, eingeschlossen „Mongolische Pfanne“ bei eigener Auswahl der Speisen, eingeschlossen das Dessert-Buffet. Sushi-Laufband am Abendbuffet / Sonntagsbuffet eingeschlossen. Cocktails stehen auch auf der Karte. Sehr (!) nette und aufmerksame Bedienung, vorbildlich. Einziger Kritikpunkt ist die Lautstärke in dem sehr großen Restaurant. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

In week 13, my wife and I wanted to go to Pagoda as usual and enjoy the otherwise good buffet. Unfortunately, this time it was a disappointment. Food was barely replenished, and the service was not in a good mood either.

The selection is great, so many good quality delicacies are amazing. The SERVICE staff are always friendly and accommodating, we are always happy to come back.

Such a huge selection of different dishes is a rarity. It's no wonder the restaurant was busy. There's still plenty of space inside, though. So if you're looking for ("Europeanized") Chinese food, this is the place for you!

Great Chinese buffet. The selection is varied and everything is delicious. There are always enough dishes laid out at the buffet, so you always get what you want. They also offer a Mongolian buffet, where meat is fried with vegetables and spices of your choice. Everything here has always been great so far. There's also a sushi conveyor belt, but unfortunately, I can't comment on the sushi as I haven't tried it yet. All in all, this is a good place if you're looking for a Chinese buffet. The price, at almost €30 per person, excluding drinks, is relatively high for an evening buffet.

I think this restaurant is very nice. The rooms are beautifully decorated and cozy and the food is also very tasty. There are a lot of dishes and you will definitely be full. The staff is very friendly and chatty and funny. I go back again and again and recommend it to everyone.

Disappointing food and unprofessional handling of criticism I was with a companion at the Pagoda restaurant in Göttingen and unfortunately the overall visit was very disappointing. We both ordered the same dish: baked, crispy chicken with vegetables and sauce. The chicken was anything but tender – dry, tough and barely edible. After I complained in a friendly manner, a new plate was brought to me, which I initially found to be good service. Unfortunately, the chicken wasn't any better on the second try. In the end, I could hardly eat any of the main ingredient in my dish and stuck to the few vegetables. However, the way my legitimate criticism was dealt with was even more serious: After another conversation with the waiter and the manager, I was told in an unfriendly tone that my complaint was unfounded. I was portrayed as a difficult customer and even told me outright that I shouldn't visit the restaurant again in the future. It was also insisted that the full price of the dish must be paid. Totally incomprehensible and unprofessional. I find this way of dealing with guests completely unacceptable. Criticism should be taken seriously and treated with respect - instead, it was made clear to me that my opinion was unwelcome. For me it was a once-in-a-lifetime visit – and it will stay that way. 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

Always my pleasure. We've been there a lot over the last few years. The food selection is simply fantastic, even for lunch. The only drawback is the size. Of course, this means a lot of people. Depending on where the seat is, it's like being in a train station.

We were here for the first time and are very satisfied. Some of the baked dishes were a bit dry and the beef was a bit tough, but I can overlook that. The selection is huge, the Mongolian grill is quick and the service is always courteous and on the ball. Why do I still give one star less? Maybe it was just that day but the parking situation was terrible. Next time I will park on the street from the surrounding industrial area.

We have been to Pagoda several times with a group of seniors and particularly enjoy going here with a group like this because the staff can adapt so incredibly well to the different, sometimes unusual needs and reactions of the group members (friendly, courteous, careful, level-headed, with empathy and even humor and also accommodating). The design of the restaurant contributes greatly to the success of the visit (self-contained circles, with space for walkers without disturbing other guests). The owner is to be congratulated on her talented staff. Everyone also really likes the food.

A real Chinese... Wide ground level entrance... Generously designed store... Disabled toilet... Great food... Incredibly large selection... The lunch menu is highly recommended... Unfortunately, the parking situation is often borderline... Unfortunately there is no disabled parking space... Very happy every now and then...

Was there for the second time. Food is very good and tasty. Toilets clean. Staff very friendly. Gladly again.

It's ok, but nothing more. Audience is not my thing, a real "all you can eat" shop. Food is nothing special. The selection is large, but the quality is not great. But okay for the price.

We really liked it, we went there on a weekday evening because it wasn't as crowded as it was on the weekend, so it was too crowded for us, unfortunately! Plenty of choice and good taste. Unfortunately, the fish pond in front of the entrance is very dirty and full of plastic and garbage, so I automatically deduct stars.

First of all, we would love to come back. We have rarely experienced so much service and friendliness. The wheelchair user was treated with consideration and special attention was paid to allergy-related issues. Two small points of criticism: Missing salmon sushi is entirely due to your own taste. The normal dishes were always full, even towards the end. Which is not a given. Second point: The sink in the disabled toilet does not work, which is somewhat critical. But the tip was received warmly.

A huge dining room and an incredibly large buffet. The waiters and service staff are very nice and extremely hardworking. We constantly check whether the buffet is still well stocked. The buffet includes a sushi conveyor belt, hot and cold dishes, salads, cakes, desserts, ice cream and sweets. There is also a "Mongolian buffet" where you first put together the raw ingredients, choose a sauce and then everything is freshly fried and brought to the table.

First-class large buffet. If something runs out, it is quickly reproduced.

Pagoda, no more. Unfortunately, we found that the quality of the lunch buffet had significantly deteriorated. Most of the food is cold, mussels are musty and prawns only taste like garlic, duck is fatty and dry, etc. The friendliness of the operating staff also takes some getting used to. In short, unfriendly. It also makes sense to get a detailed receipt when paying. This was the only way we could prove that we were being overcharged. Conclusion: The worst buffet we have experienced in a long time at excessive prices 👎👎👎

Absolutely recommended. The service is warm and friendly. The order was served quickly and the cocktails were very well mixed. The buffet is extensive and leaves nothing to be desired. Everything was extremely tasty. Fresh meat (including unusual varieties, such as kangaroo meat) is freshly prepared on a grill. Another highlight is the sushi conveyor belt.

The telephone reservation didn't work at all because there was hardly any language skills. Despite reassurance and a long journey, we were rejected very rudely. Mass processing in a rude manner. We save the ambience and value humanity. Pagoda? No thanks!

I went to this restaurant today and had a very unpleasant experience. I asked the person in charge of the dining room to clean the table, but instead of doing it himself, he just brought me the rag and expected me to do it myself - that's absolutely rude and inappropriate! When I complained to his manager, I got an even more shocking response: "If you want better service, you can book the premium service option and pay extra for a personal representative." I go to Pakoda and pay 150 euros or more - and then I'm supposed to listen to something like that? This is completely unacceptable and poor service!

Food was okay, unfortunately very, very loud and crowded and for a lunch of 17.90 I don't think it's an attractive offer anymore!

Located directly on the A7, Göttingen Nord exit, 5 min. Very large, comfortable guest room, it couldn't be more Chinese. The largest buffet I've ever seen, including fresh ingredients that are grilled by a chef and then brought to the table. We ate from the menu, it's clear, which suits me very well, what we ate was very good and at a great price. Very fast and nice service.

A former Volvo car dealership wonderfully converted into a Chinese restaurant. The buffet is generous and offers many ready-made dishes, but there is also the option to give something to the grill. The waiter was very nice and the empty plates were quickly picked up from the table. All in all we had a lovely evening
