China Stammtisch "Kimbo Burg" in Magdeburg

Kimbo Burg is a classic Asian all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant, which also offers a "Mongolian grill" as an additional highlight. The ingredients in this part of the buffet are all fresh, as far as the guest can judge, and are prepared by friendly staff and then brought to the table. This is then done by a serving robot or the friendly staff. There are around 10 different types of fish, unfortunately not quite as many types of meat (zebra, crocodile, etc. are not available here). As great as the buffet for the "Mongolian Grill" is, there is a real negative point here. You can't have noodles fried. The rest of the buffet is well prepared and deliciously seasoned without using too much glutamate. As already mentioned, the staff is very friendly and tries to ensure the guest has a nice evening. There are also small party favors, such as a bottle of beer or a bag of gummy bears. It is positive to note that every few minutes an employee goes around to clear away empty plates and ask if everything is OK. The restaurant is centrally located in Magdeburg city center. Unfortunately, the facility is already getting old. The restaurant is clean, but there is clearly a modern feel here. The price-performance ratio is good, especially compared to another buffet restaurant in Magdeburg.

Were there on vacation, any sensible Magdeburger would have shaken their head and shown us something better! No air conditioning and it's 35 degrees outside! Food was okay, but I've eaten much better! The ice cream was a disaster, thawed and frozen again, looked unappetizing. Personally, I would never go there again and would look for something better in Magdeburg next time!

Sehr freundlicher Empfang. Auf Nachfrage nach scharfer authentischer Küche gab es liebenswerter Weise eine Extrakarte mit Empfehlungen. Obwohl wir alle uns doch für das super leckere Buffet entschieden haben,, wurde uns aufs Haus ein authentisches, sehr scharfes und fantastisches Gericht der Extrakarte serviert (tausend Dank) und es war grandios. Allein deswegen werden wir wieder kommen. Ein rundum schöner Abend.

A large selection of different food and drinks at a great price. The buffet offers enormous freedom of choice and can even be prepared live by a chef. The plate is then brought either by the service or by a small robot.

In restaurants the main thing is food, but in this place it is not very tasty. With a large selection (although it did not become large right away, since when we arrived, there was almost nothing), there was very little that was really tasty. We asked to cook seafood and it looked very appetizing, but in fact there was so much disgusting oil that it was simply impossible to eat. There were seafood and meat on our plate, but it seems to me that they fried everything together and because of this oil, the taste was only of oil. The sushi is terrible, I have never eaten such tasteless sushi. There were dishes that we liked, such as meat and vegetables. By the way, soy sauce, also tasteless, is better replaced. The establishment itself is very beautiful and the staff is excellent, except for apparently some of the cooks, or they are forced to fry the dishes in terrible oil, I don’t know. I think that if you ask for fish and seafood, don’t fry it in so much oil (if this is possible, of course, since we weren’t even asked), replace the soy sauce and learn how to make sushi or remove it from the menu altogether (if you don’t know how to do it) , provide the entire range of dishes on time, and not wait for bad reviews with a note that the choice is small, then the establishment will be super! I would like to wish you good luck. Correct the mistakes and there will be more clients!

Still for us the best Chinese in all of Magdeburg and the surrounding area. Very tasty food. I can't even count how many times we've been here. Friends and colleagues are also very enthusiastic.

Always extremely good! May 2024 everything was fine today, we even got a free cocktail :-) Update: it is very very crowded on public holidays. Without a reservation there are hardly any places. In addition, the staff cannot keep up with refilling the buffet. Something is always running out and it takes a while for supplies to arrive. But when it is there, it is hot and good as always.

We went to this restaurant three weeks ago for a buffet dinner to celebrate our father's birthday. We liked it very much. The restaurant is getting old and needs a renovation, but it was still a nice, cozy evening with the family. Overall we enjoyed the food, except that many dishes had the same taste. There was enough of everything. We would have liked more fruit. There could also be a little more selection of desserts. The service was very quick. All the waiters did their job excellently. Very polite, nice and accommodating to the guests. The birthday child even received a delicious cocktail as a gift 🍹🍹🍹 It's a shame that the restaurant is in such an old building, if that could be changed somehow...

Where to start... Buffet 23€ per person, although online it says 21.50€, but everything is empty and is only replenished again on the full moon. What's there doesn't really taste good either. And to make matters worse, some employee (probably the owner) sits down across from the aquarium, folds napkins and watches us eat??? Absolutely NO recommendation!!!

I celebrated my 71st birthday 🎂 here. The food is fantastic, varied and very tasty. Then the sweet robot 🤖 came with a nice cocktail 🍹 for me and played me a birthday song. Thank you very much for the wonderful hours, I'll be happy to come back. ❤️ ❤️

The food here was actually quite delicious! But when you entered the restaurant your shoes stuck to the floor with every step!! So a proper basic cleaning would be urgently needed for the floor there!! It's a shame this actually beautiful day didn't do any good!

We were invited and there for the first time. The food from the buffet was consistently lukewarm, even the freshly grilled dishes were almost cold. The floor just stuck; the table including dishes was unclean. The menu was literally stuck to the table... We won't be back...

“All you can eat” is the motto here. At lunchtime and in the evening there are lots of Chinese delicacies from the buffet at a fixed price. You can eat as much as you want. Children pay €1 per year of age. If you don't want a buffet, you can also eat ala cart. A few special features cost extra in the evening, but they are not a must. Service is quick and friendly.

I have to say the price/performance ratio is optimal, although I was missing something from the food on offer, such as: fish, shrimp, of course, beef! But that's expensive to buy and somehow you have to keep the prices, or it simply wasn't available this time🤷‍♂️ In any case, the employees are very nice and always on point. Like everywhere else (in my opinion, drinks are simply too expensive) but still a very wide selection 👍👍👍I'll go back soon if you make that much effort 🤩

Food tastes delicious. No matter what you try. I don't like to eat a lot of one type, but rather a little of many. This way I think I can judge that everything really tastes good. The service is also good. Although there has been a lot going on in the last few days. All in all: I like being there.

Delicious buffet even if there wasn't as much to choose from as elsewhere. The life chef, on the other hand, is really great and it was really well prepared.

After a few years we went back to eat and unfortunately I and my companion were very disappointed... We had to wait a long time to order something. The food was okay, but unfortunately the buffet offered little choice and was almost constantly emptied, which was also due to the very changing number of guests... The sanitary facilities were getting old and soap/paper towels were not available at all. The service staff seemed stressed and haphazard...

Very tasty staff super friendly would like to come back

It was possible to have a very quiet and relaxed meal there. It was neither too loud nor too crowded. The food was very tasty and there was enough choice. So there is something for everyone.

A few years ago we drove from Stendal to this restaurant specifically to eat there, but today it's a real shame, the quality has fallen way down and the prices have risen sharply. We arrived at 8:45 p.m. and on Thursdays the door was posted until 11:00 p.m. but at 9:45 p.m. we were informed that the buffet would be cleared away. To be honest, I felt pretty ripped off. This was definitely our last visit to this restaurant.

The freshly prepared beef was the absolute highlight for me! You can't even get such a perfect piece of beef in a steak house!

I've eaten here several times. The buffet is always well stocked. The food is delicious. I'd love to come back.

Unfortunately, the dishes were not seasoned enough and there were no spices on the table to season yourself as desired. Unfortunately, the lack of staff was noticed. The service staff tried really hard, but there were just too many guests on site.

Today at 7 p.m. I went to the buffet, first waited forever for a cellar, after more than 20 minutes someone came. Lots of things were empty and not refilled after half an hour. Empty dressing for salad was not refilled as long as we were there. The best Chinese in Magdeburg. If you haven't been here yet, you've missed something. We have been going there since 2005 and are always thrilled. Best restaurant in town!!!! Always a pleasure. Just try it out. Our guests from Bremen were also very enthusiastic. I don't even know what else to write about this fantastic restaurant.

Wir waren Silvester mit vier Freunden hier essen..Büfett..knusprige Ente und Reis wurde nicht nachgelegt..nach zweitem nachfragen gab es klebrigen Reis und kalte Ente..auch keine Nachfrage nach Getränken..sehr enttäuscht..

Essen schmeckt hervorragend, das Buffet wird ständig neu bestückt, das Personal ist sehr nett. Ein Stern Abzug gibt's es für die Toiletten, sehr dreckig, der Toilettendeckel ist locker und in die Jahre gekommen. Es gibt nicht mal Desinfektionsmittel in den Kabinen.

Es ist sehr hellhörig und dadurch sehr laut. Das Personal ist freundlich und die Bedienung ging schnell. Essen war normal, nichts besonderes. Die Auswahl war gering.

Das Buffet bietet zwar eine begrenzte Auswahl, sollte aber ausreichend sein. Wünschen würde ich mir vor allem Kennzeichnungen wie "vegan", "vegetarisch" an den einzelnen Gerichten. Der Service war sehr freundlich und auch am meisten hervorzuheben. Alles in allem ist dieses Restaurant empfehlenswert, was aber auch an der geringen Anzahl an lokalen Alternativen liegt.

Das Essen war vollkommen in Ordnung, beim buffet wurde immer nachgelegt. Das Ambiente ist eher etwas in die Jahre gekommen, der Service meist langsam unterwegs.

Gemessen am Preis ordentliches Buffet, das wenig Wünsche offen lassen dürfte. Auch das Grillbuffet war gut bestückt, nur Sushi war leider aus (Samstagabend, ca 20:15 Uhr) und wurde auch nicht mehr nachgeliefert. Geschmacklich durchschnittlich aber auch keine negative Überraschung. Das Ambiente war angenehm ruhig und sehr gemütlich, vor allem die Lautstärke war auf einem gesprächsfreundlichen Pegel. Ein klarer Pluspunkt im Gegensatz zur überlaufenen Konkurrenz. Die Einrichtung etwas überholt aber stilecht, wie man sie aus asiatischen Restaurants gewohnt ist. Der Service hätte etwas öfter am Tisch sein können, was in unserer Konstellation aber nicht weiter schlimm war. Der Preis für das Essen war, wie Eingangs erwähnt, in Ordnung, einen Punkt Abzug gibt es aber für das horrend teure Wasser (8€ für eine Flasche Selters).

Wir waren Mittags da. Die Auswahl ist ausreichend. Das einzige, in der Eistruhe waren 3 leere Eispackungen. Vielleicht hätte man noch 1 Esslöffel raus kratzten können. Aber erkläre das mal ein 2 jähriges Kind. Aber der Service von den Mitarbeitern ist super. Es gab sogar ein *Geburtstagscoktail* GELIEFERT. Total schrill, mit Musik

Uns wurde zuviel berechnet, was mir leider erst auf dem Heimweg auffiel. 23 Eur pro Person, anstatt 21,50 Eur. Und 5 Eur für unseren 3 jährigen Sohn, obwohl es am Telefon hieß 3 Eur. Das Känguru vom Grill war leider zäh und ungenießbar. Die Nudeln waren kalt. Ansonsten OK.

Die Kimbo-Burg ist das chinesische Pendant zum bosnischen Lokal "Der verrückte Ziegenmelker" in dem mein guter alter Bekannter der Ziegenbaron Stammziege...ähh gast ist. Vor dem Lokal ist es sehr sauber, die chinesischen Donuts waren sehr lecker, also die von der Kollegin mit den braun-pinken Haaren. Typisch chinesisches Misunderstatement, Bescheidenheit ist eben Trumpf!! Alter!!

War lange nicht hier, schönes Ambiente, das Essen, Buffet, sehr reichlich und vielseitig, wurde immer nachgefüllt und heiß war's auch 😋 Service war soweit ok aber meiner Bekannten wurde der Teller schon weggenommen als sie gerade vom Nachtisch letztes Obst auf der Gabel hatte, fanden wir nicht so toll. Bedienung freundlich, nicht aufdringlich. Werden wiederkommen, auch für größere Familienessen gut geeignet 👍👋KL

Ein tolles Ambiente und super nette Angestellte. Das Essen ist grandios. Und das Rindfleisch kann ich nur empfehlen.

Die Kimbo Burg war ein sehr Tolles Restaurant. Wir haben allesamt das Buffet ausgewählt bis auf einer von uns. Das Buffet war zwar klein und hatte nicht viel Auswahl hat aber alles in einem Sehr Gut geschmeckt. Die Bestellung von dem Einzel essen wurde mit einem Roboter an unseren Tisch geliefert. Die Bedingung war sehr nett was wie ich finde einen Großen Pluspunkt an das Restaurant gibt. Die Toiletten waren in Ordnung es gab Seife und einen Perfekt laufenden Wasserhahn und die Toilette selber war dort sauber mit ausreichend Toilettenpapier. Wie wir gemerkt haben hat die Kimbo Burg auch Ukrainischen Flüchtlingen Arbeit angeboten was wir sehr Gut fanden. Getränke waren auch ausgezeichnet und die Bedienung die jede 10 Minuten kam um unseren Tisch von schmutzigem Geschirr freizureäumen und um uns zu fragen wie alles Schmeckt und ob wir noch irgendwelche Bestellungen entgegennehmen wollen hat mir besonders auch sehr Gefallen. Alles in einem War es ein gutes Restaurant welches gutes Essen und auch Nachspeisen lieferte.ich würde es weiterempfehlen wenn und denke das es für einen Besuch mit der Familie sowie auch mit Freunden Gut geeignet ist. Wir haben das Abendmenü mit Koch Show bestellt. Vorspeise und Getränke sehr gut, sauber, allumfassende und angenehm. Als Hauptmenü hatten wir uns den Fisch gewählt. Hai, Lachs, sehr große Garnelen, Zander, Heilbutt, Tintenfisch, Pangasius, Sepia, Muschel und Octopus. Der Zander hervorragend. Nachtisch Ananas mit Schokobrunnen und ein leckeres Sesameis. Erinnerte uns an Miami Florida.

Die "Kimbo Burg" ist der Nachfolger der "Chinesischen Burg". Die Umbenennung war einst erfolgt, da das ehemals ständig überfüllte Restaurant eine Filiale eröffnen wollte und dafür den Namensbringer "Chinesische Burg" weiter verwenden wollte. Leider hat jedoch die "Burg" wie ich sie seit Jahren liebevoll nenne, etwas nachgelassen. Zwar bietet das Restaurant nach wie vor ein gemütliches, schönes Ambiente und gute Preise, doch die Qualität der Speisen ist etwas zurückgegangen und leider sind auch viele vom Stammpersonal der "alten Burg" nicht mehr da. Das neue Personal tut sein Bestes, aber es kommt nicht ganz an die Professionalität und den Charme des "alten" heran. Bei meinen letzten zwei Besuchen musste ist auch feststellen, dass manchmal Geschirr und Besteck nicht immer den aller saubersten Eindruck machten. Die "Burg" hat unter den in den letzten Jahren enorm werdenden Konkurrenzdruck in Magdeburg stark gelitten. Die Besucherzahlen sind spürbar zurückgegangen und asiatische Restaurants sind die Pilze aus dem Boden geschossen. Ich hoffe, dass das Restaurant wieder an alte Glanzzeiten anknüpfen kann. Fazit: 3/5 Reisebären - Hoffentlich wirds bald wieder besser
