China Restaurant Lehaha-Buffet in Hannover

I went there with my family for the first time. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The selection was large, but we still struggled to find anything that tasted good. The meats were either too fatty or too tough, and the flavors weren't convincing either. In the end, we reluctantly ordered the chicken nuggets, but even those were bad. The worst thing, however, was the duck, and what can you expect from a Chinese restaurant that doesn't even offer decent duck? It was tough and fatty, and since there was hardly any actual meat on it, it was also tasteless. The vegetables were crunchy, very crunchy. The atmosphere was reminiscent of a cafeteria. If you wanted to get up from the shabby table (covered in dents and scratches), you first had to step over the table's foot. You only get the bill if you ask for it. I don't expect top quality from a buffet Chinese restaurant, but this was unacceptable. Any Vietnamese takeaway is better.

Best Chinese buffet experience so far – Hanover & Langenhagen! I've been to three different Chinese buffets in Hanover and Langenhagen – but this one definitely gets the best rating from me! 🙌 There's a huge selection: soft-serve ice cream from the vending machine 🍦, large cuts of meat, crayfish 🦞, kangaroo meat 🦘, and even frog legs 🐸. Everything is fresh, delicious, and well-prepared. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff is friendly and attentive. I'm really impressed – I'll definitely be back! 😊

A typical Asian buffet restaurant. If you're looking for a hearty meal, this is the place for you. The selection is enormous, too vast to describe. While there are no culinary specialties, the food is tasty. The atmosphere is somewhat cafeteria-like, with a large, and consequently noisy, space. It's not really suitable for a relaxed get-together with conversation.

It was varied and a nice change from the Asian buffets we usually get at. I also haven't seen frog legs in ages. What was completely unacceptable was the ice cream with alcohol at the buffet. It wasn't labeled, nor was it labeled or removed after we pointed it out. I didn't believe my son at first when he said there was alcohol in it. This inconsistent and incomprehensible behavior, following a clear mistake (they explained to me how it happened), warrants a deduction in points. With so many children there, it's absolutely unacceptable. Apart from that, we had a good time.

I went there for the second time with a friend (it was a public holiday at lunchtime)... but this time I was very disappointed. The vegetable soup (V6), which I'm used to from other Chinese restaurants, was nothing like it. It was just chopped mixed vegetables cooked al dente in water, completely tasteless, with no broth whatsoever, and a hint of salt (truly inedible). The Peking soup (V1) there was comparable to the vegetable soup at other Chinese restaurants, only spicier. After a rather forceful complaint (the server initially refused to accept my complaint and wanted to go and get it from the cafeteria), I suddenly received a small portion of Peking soup instead of a normal portion, which was quite tasty but also spicy. The fried noodles with vegetables that I ordered as a main course were very generous, but contained very little coarsely chopped, very al dente vegetables (bell peppers, carrots, spring onions, broccoli, mushrooms). Unfortunately, it was all very bland. Oh well... It was a bust this time...the very extensive Chinese buffet (26.50 euros for lunch on Sundays and public holidays)...with sushi, various ice creams, desserts and cakes was very busy...almost all the available tables (large restaurant) were occupied (therefore a very loud atmosphere)...the buffet was too much for me...so I ordered from the menu...this time there...just okay...

I went to this restaurant today and unfortunately, the food was truly disappointing. It wasn't fresh – the rice was stale, and the sushi was a very small portion and tasted old. Furthermore, we were forced to order drinks for our young children. My son is only 18 months old and can't possibly drink such beverages, but I still had to pay for them. Requiring adults to buy drinks is fine, but doing it for such young children is outrageous. The service was also unfriendly, especially towards families with children. We were even told that my son wasn't allowed to sit in his stroller so as not to disturb other guests. Very disappointing; we certainly won't be returning.

No matter what you order, it's always delicious. This is the best Chinese restaurant in Hanover and Laatzen. We're regulars there.

I was truly shocked by the tone and behavior of one of the employees. I've never experienced such unfriendly behavior in a restaurant before. Even while serving the food, she slammed the plates loudly onto the table without a smile or a friendly word. Her entire attitude and language were disrespectful and completely inappropriate towards guests. I had children with me, and they were truly shocked by her behavior—that says it all. We were supposed to have a nice evening celebrating a family member's birthday together, but her behavior completely ruined the mood. We couldn't enjoy the meal and simply felt uncomfortable. And when I politely addressed it, all I got was (I have to work fast) not even an apology.

I found the buffet rather mediocre. There are many ingredients that you can have freshly fried, and then the plate is brought to your table. However, you don't have any sauce or other side dish on your plate. I find the concept difficult. We were there on a Friday evening. It was quite crowded and loud.

I honestly don't understand how this restaurant has received so many good reviews. My visit to Lehaha was unfortunately anything but positive. Upon entering, I noticed that the restaurant gave off an overall unkempt and unclean impression. The meal itself was disappointing: The dishes didn't seem fresh, the taste was rather bland, and not at all what one would expect for the high prices. Added to that was the unfriendly service. Questions were answered curtly or irritated, which only served to compound the already poor overall impression. Given the very high price and the poor service in all areas, I can't understand the many 5-star reviews, even with the best will in the world. For me, the visit was a clear disappointment, and I will definitely not be returning.

We were invited there for dinner yesterday. It was lovely. The food was delicious. The service was excellent. The ambiance was also great. We'd love to come back next time we're in Hanover.

Rich buffet, nice atmosphere, friendly waiters and assistants

I was at Lehaha Restaurant with my date. Unfortunately, despite the restaurant being almost empty, we weren't seated in a nice spot. Instead, the waiter asked us to sit at an aisle table. He then sat right next to us the whole time, rattling around the trolley with dishes and cutlery, watching us. This was extremely uncomfortable for my date and me, and since going to a restaurant like this, with all-you-can-eat options, isn't something we do every day, it was really sad.

Most of the food was lukewarm and overcooked, the duck was dry as rubber, the sauces were showing their age, and the pastries were bone dry. We were there for lunch, and we'd never go back for that price, not even for half the price. The service was 2 stars; they typed everything into their smartphones and still asked twice after they'd already been to the counter.... Overall, not recommended; I can't understand some of the high star ratings...

The food was delicious, reasonably priced (€10.50 + €2.00 for a drink), and the service was very friendly. However, the ambiance could use a refresh.

If we're back in Hanover, we'll definitely come back here. What they do here is commendable: the food is good and very fresh, and the fruit and desserts are amazing. Highly recommended.

My review: There were six of us in the restaurant and we enjoyed the buffet around 6 p.m. Although we had reserved a table in advance, that wasn't really necessary on a Monday. The buffet was very varied: various meats, fish and seafood, as well as fresh salads, fruit, and ice cream. The atmosphere was pleasantly quiet, and the service was extremely friendly and attentive. Highly recommended! I definitely recommend a visit to this restaurant!

We ate at the buffet there, but unfortunately, most of the warm food was ice-cold and inedible. Unfortunately, the strawberry soft serve was also completely flavorless. The evening buffet cost us €25 per person without drinks, which I consider too much for the quality.

The Saturday lunch buffet is now €17.90. It was €8.90 on our last visit. A 0.3-liter drink costs at least €3.30, otherwise it's €2.00 more expensive. And if you don't finish your plate, you'll be charged at least €3.00 more for food waste. That's what the menu says. The starter soup I love so much tastes like sour tomatoes. There's actually a wide selection, but everything tastes kind of the same these days. Maybe I've just become more discerning.

I was here on the weekend and it was really crowded. The staff seemed overwhelmed. The food options were average and the taste was alright. Grill was good but I felt a bit sorry for the grill staff because he seemed very overwhelmed with the amount of orders. However they have a really tasty egg tart which I liked for the dessert. Sushi options were minimal and didn’t taste too great.

A truly fantastic buffet is offered here. The food is absolutely delicious, and there are a huge variety. The only downside (with almost all buffet meals) is that some dishes that don't sell quickly are no longer hot. The fries and the potato gratin were really cold. Otherwise, absolutely recommended, and the price is reasonable.

Never again! I tried the to-go food there and couldn't believe what I experienced. I was particularly negatively affected by the service staff. They were constantly stressing me out about buying more portions for €4, even though there was nothing decent left to eat there. They had run out of side dishes to begin with... then I decided to get cold, four-hour-old fries. The service staff then told me I'd taken ENOUGH. The lid that came with the can they handed me fit perfectly... I paid for one portion... and the service staff admonished me for taking too much, even though my food didn't extend over the top of the can (like the three teenagers in front of me). That was so embarrassing that I'm still thinking about it. I should have reacted much more harshly. Unfortunately, I only realized that now. I worked in the restaurant industry for a long time... everything that happens there is completely unacceptable. The employees get salmon and rice, which they eat while we wait to pick out trash for €4. ... to-good-to-go NOT HERE.

We were here for a birthday, and it was overall a great experience, albeit a bit loud, the place makes up for it by having a huge variety of main dishes, deserts, salads and drinks.

Absolutely disappointing and dishonest! I tried a special from this restaurant today using the TooGoodToGo app. For €3.90, you were supposed to get a portion of food in a plastic container at the end of the day. That's the theory. The service was supposed to start at 9:50 PM. But just a few minutes before – when several people were already in line – the staff took away all the good and still edible products. They left behind only the very last scraps of inferior quality. Pieces of meat, fish, and other better-quality dishes were demonstratively sorted out in front of the waiting customers. It strongly seems that the staff are keeping these good products for themselves, while customers are only offered scraps – and then sold as an official "special." Added to this is the unfriendly, disrespectful behavior of the employees. A truly sad and embarrassing sight. I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Very bad, just leave!‼️ We visited this restaurant because it advertised itself as family-friendly. Unfortunately, our experience was the opposite: My child was playing and reacted a bit loudly – which should be normal in a family restaurant. A staff member then spoke unkindly about my son, and when I tried to complain, it turned out it was the manager himself. He, too, was very rude. If the manager treats guests like that, you can't expect much better from the rest of the staff. For a restaurant that's supposed to welcome children, this is completely disappointing.

Everything was excellent. The selection of dishes and ingredients is extensive. Everything is fresh and tastes really good. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Our guests, my wife and I, had our wedding dinner here. I have to say, the service and the owners were super sweet and friendly. They accommodated almost all of our requests, and they really made an effort. We will definitely eat here again in the future.

This isn't my first visit to this restaurant and I've always been satisfied, but unfortunately, this time was a disappointment. The wait staff was rude and took a long time to clear dirty dishes, while they quickly cleared up the dishes at neighboring tables. The seafood we had brought to grill was also undercooked. We had expected better service and higher quality food.

We went to the dinner buffet today (4 adults & 2 children aged 4 & 5). After the meal, the waitress explained to me that my 5-year-old son had to pay the full adult price (€25.90). According to the menu and the website, children: 3-5 years = €8.90 6-8 years = €12.90 9-11 years = €15.90 Thanks Lehara, for the rip-off. You'll never see us again 👍

We were here with two children. Child 1 is 4 years old and child 2 is 5 years old, and we were told that our 5-year-old son should pay the full adult price because he's over 5 years old. The children's menu also states that children aged 3-5 cost €8.90. So, something is seriously wrong here!

The buffet closes 30-40 minutes before closing time. The selection was okay. Even though we weren't finished eating, we were asked to pay and the buffet was now only open for takeaways. You're indirectly asked to leave. Definitely my first and last visit.

It was a spontaneous decision to go there. I was there on a Sunday and tried both the regular buffet with ready-made meals and the buffet with raw ingredients that were prepared for me. The food tasted very good, and I always appreciate the opportunity to choose from a variety of things.

Even though I didn't give it many stars, I can highly recommend this place. The lunch buffet is huge. From salads to cold dishes like sushi to a variety of hot dishes and vegetables. There's cake and good soft-serve ice cream, just like I remember from the GDR. The waitress is a bit grumpy, but that's somehow fitting. The ambiance is reminiscent of a train station concourse, but anyone who's ever stayed at an all-inclusive hotel in Turkey with less than 5 stars will know what that means. Great value for money. Highly recommended, and we'll be back.

A great restaurant with a wide selection of good food

I was there for lunch. The buffet is well-stocked with plenty of choice; there's something for everyone. The food is all fresh and appetizingly presented. The wine and sushi were very good and deserved five stars. Unfortunately, the rest was just okay; the cooked dishes weren't perfect. I tried everything, and no one asked for seconds. The convenience items were all fine, but you can hardly go wrong here. Service was attentive and friendly, and the entire restaurant was modern and clean. The bartender shouldn't be eating behind the bar, even when it's not busy. A good three stars, but unfortunately, it wasn't quite enough for fourth.

I went out to eat with my family today. When I was paying, they told me they owed me a tip. That's really disrespectful. The food was delicious, and there's plenty of it, but I don't think the staff were polite.

Unfortunately, we've had several bad experiences – snails in our salad, incorrect bills, and unfriendly treatment of our child. We'll probably come back for the food, but hope for better service.

Very good and varied food from the buffet. There's something for everyone. However, the attempt to make customers pay more is a point of criticism: a drink with a minimum of 0.3L per person is required, otherwise a surcharge of €2 is charged. When ordering one liter of detox water for three people, that results in 0.33L, and yet they ask you to order another drink when paying the bill, which 1. exceeds the €2 and 2. wouldn't have been necessary at all because the minimum per person has been reached. Please clarify.

We were there for lunch and it was quite late. Some of the food at the buffet was lukewarm or even cold. We were told that if you're having the lunch buffet, you should come early, as it would be warmer then. Everything else, the service was nice and friendly, and the buffet selection was simply great, as were the rooms.

The restaurant is nicely furnished. There are also some round tables with revolving tops so that you can eat in large groups. There is a large selection of dishes for front cooking. The buffet is very meaty. Unfortunately, the buffet is rarely refreshed, so the food may not be quite hot or may be a little dry. Otherwise, it is very tasty. For dessert, I would skip the popcorn unless it is freshly refilled (we all know what happens when popcorn is left sitting out for too long). However, the 🍦 is highly recommended as it is really tasty and free. Otherwise, the dessert selection is quite compact.

We visited the restaurant for lunch. Positives: a large selection at the buffet and prompt clearing of plates. Unfortunately, the quality of the food left much to be desired. Much of it was only lukewarm, the octopus was very tough, and the salmon on the sushi was dry. The soft-serve ice cream from the machine was too soft for my taste. Classic desserts were available, but ice cream from the freezer is only available in the evening. The mixed salad with cucumber, tomatoes, and feta tasted okay, but it was swimming in too much French dressing for my taste. I would have preferred the ingredients without or with less sauce. We found the drink prices high: Alster (0.3 l) and Latte Macchiato each cost €3.90, while a Coke (0.4 l) was even €4.40. The Latte Macchiato had the typical espresso layer, but its flavor was almost entirely milk – unbalanced. The service was businesslike but rather distant. Overall, the price-performance ratio wasn't quite right for us. Those looking for a wide selection and willing to compromise on quality and preparation might still find something to their liking.

You can have a variety of dishes cooked live after selecting your meat, fish, and/or vegetables, spices, and sauces, and labeling your plate with your "table clip" (number), which will then be brought to your table freshly cooked. In the meantime, you can choose from the buffet: from sushi (including sashimi – noteworthy!) to various Asian dishes, fries, chicken nuggets, and more. The kids will especially enjoy the soft-serve ice cream machine, as well as the extensive dessert buffet. ⚠️ Caution in some places 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️

In any case, the Lehaha is worth a visit

A Chinese restaurant with lunch and dinner buffets. I was there at lunchtime and therefore wasn't able to eat the grill buffet. In general there is a lot to choose from. From sushi, Peking soup and spring rolls to sesame mochis and jelly. Unfortunately, I think that with this wide variety of dishes, a lot of ready-made products are used. There were maybe four or five dishes actually cooked and prepared. In some cases the food on the edges of the container had dried out, although I would hope that the reason was the keeping warm and not the long storage. The opening times are until 3 p.m. However, the waitress gets nervous at 2:30 p.m. and asks me during the meal whether I should pay with cash or card. In my opinion a no-go. Probably because people from To-Good-To-Go are already arriving at quarter to three, which I'm actually happy to support. But if operators want to avoid a clash between regular customers and TGTG customers, they have to adjust opening hours accordingly.

The employees are not doing their jobs. Never again
