China Restaurant Jade in Castrop-Rauxel – Family-friendly, delicious, and welcoming From the moment you enter, you immediately feel welcome at China Restaurant Jade. As a small treat, we were offered crispy prawn crackers (Kroepoek) and a fruity smoothie – a lovely start to a thoroughly enjoyable evening. For starters, we had a choice of Peking soup or a spring roll with dip – both appetizing and freshly prepared. For main courses, we had breaded pork with sweet and sour sauce and chicken with mushrooms and bamboo shoots, both served with rice. A particularly positive aspect was that we could easily reorder more rice. The food was high-quality, delicious, and lovingly prepared. The service was friendly, attentive, and always present, without being intrusive. You quickly realize that this is a small, family-run restaurant where hospitality is paramount. If you're looking for authentic Chinese cuisine at fair prices, this is the place for you. Reservations are recommended, as the restaurant gets busy. We'll definitely be back – the quality, price, and atmosphere are all just right. In summary: A cozy, family-run Chinese restaurant with excellent food, friendly service, and fair value. We highly recommend it!

We were there on a Sunday and were completely alone, which was strange at first. But overall, everything was OK.

The service is friendly, that's worth emphasizing. Furthermore, the euphoric reviews probably come from older guests, who definitely get their money's worth here. The restaurant gave us a slightly dusty impression, especially with the old carpeting (definitely not for those with dust allergies). The starter salad was typical home-style German (packaged salad with lots of yogurt dressing on top, ugh), lots of duck, few vegetables, and a rather small portion of rice for over €22. The sauces are hard to distinguish. Spicy is probably more senior-friendly (i.e., not spicy at all). Overall, thanks to the friendly service, the food was just solid, because unfortunately, the food wasn't hot when it arrived on the table.

Unfortunately, we haven't been there for many years because we don't like the superficially friendly staff in Chinese restaurants. But on our last visit to Jade, we experienced a genuine friendliness and warmth, which pleasantly surprised us. The service and advice were correspondingly good. The menu offered a wide selection, and the portions were generous. So we'll be happy to come back soon (!) – assuming the prices don't rise any further! It's also worth mentioning that there's a large parking lot diagonally across the street, where you can usually(!) find a spot.

The food tastes excellent, the staff is super friendly, and overall the place has a very nice atmosphere; I felt very comfortable! :) Oh, and the place is super clean, and I have a source who said she's NEVER seen such a clean kitchen. So we'll be back, no question! UNFORTUNATELY, there is one (and, in my opinion, serious) criticism. The side dishes are way too expensive for what you get. For a main course, you pay an extra €3 for a portion of fried noodles, which is WAY too small, even for one person! We were really shocked when we realized the portion was for two people. That's a real shame, because you don't really feel full at the end... :-( I have to deduct a star here, so sorry! Otherwise, I can recommend the place without hesitation ^^

A Chinese restaurant like in the old days. No buffet, which I like very much. The menu is extensive but concise. The dishes are crisp and fresh. A non-alcoholic aperitif and kroepoek are served beforehand. My recommendation: the crispy duck in all its variations. We also like to go for lunch, which is inexpensive and the same quality, but mostly for dinner. The staff is always around and always friendly and personable. Both young and old feel at home. We've brought many friends and relatives to the restaurant. Everyone has always(!) been very satisfied.

Ordered by phone, picked up, and everything was delicious again 😋. Perfect value for money.

I'd give it 4.8 out of 5, but I'm rounding it up. The service is excellent, as is the food. Only the ambiance could be a bit nicer. It looks like a cozy restaurant, but a bit more traditional Chinese decor would be nice.

Five of us were there for lunch. Unfortunately, we didn't have a reservation. The restaurant was very busy. Nevertheless, a table was made ready for us immediately. The food was freshly prepared, extremely delicious, and the portions were enormous. Although we only ordered four set meals, everyone received a spring roll for starters and ice cream for dessert.

A good Chinese restaurant, like the old days, without a buffet. A large selection of dishes, fast, attentive service. Unfortunately, the main course was a bit too soy-heavy for us.

Best Chinese restaurant I know. It was our anniversary today and we went out to eat here, something we do regularly here. Today we had Peking duck and it was fantastic. The table was prepared for us with love. The food here is prepared with love anyway. Tip: always book in advance otherwise there will be no table. Thank you for the lovely evening and the great food. The best Chinese restaurant I know. The duck is so great, I have to revise the rating again. We have been going to this Chinese restaurant for many years now and the quality simply cannot be beat. You feel at home, absolutely friendly people and hosts. We always enjoy coming back and even when we bring someone new with us, they are thrilled afterwards. Thank you very much for the friendly service and the always tasty food, we are already looking forward to the next time.

I was surprised by the kind of positive reviews I found while spontaneously searching for a Chinese restaurant that made me very curious and attentive. I have to say, this is really very rare these days. The service throughout the restaurant is very open-minded, attentive and very friendly. In a way, however, as if you had been known for a long time. Great atmosphere, the ambience is authentic and pleasant. The boss is a great open personality, you feel like you are her personal guest. The entire team is well organized without hectic and with fun for the guests. The food is very well presented and very tasty. The hot pot I chose was very tender because of the beef, the vegetables still had a bite and the duck was excellently prepared and crispy/tender. Thank you very much, we really enjoyed it and felt welcome. We'll be back...

I recommend this restaurant unreservedly. The menu is extensive and interesting. The dishes are all delicious and varied in taste. There is no buffet, but that's a good thing. The quality of the food is much better than what you are used to from the usual Chinese buffet. The portions are very generous. All of this justifies the slightly higher price! Always make a reservation.

We have been coming here for almost 30 years and have always been very satisfied

We were there for lunch as a family with two children (9.7). The waitress was very welcoming and the food was excellent. As a greeting from the kitchen there were shrimp chips and a delicious green non-alcoholic juice (included in the price). Everything was fresh, tender duck breast and the peanut-mango sauce was excellent for me. Not too oily or too heavy and the taste wasn't very dominant either, so you could still taste the vegetables etc. Lunch menu excellent value for money. Baked duck Including a huge spring roll and ice cream scoop approx. 17€ (we had the leftovers for dinner as it was very plentiful) The children really enjoyed their sweet and sour duck. And the artistically carved carrot butterfly: the highlight. I think it's great that there's a children's portion for €14. Sanitary facilities were clean and well maintained.

Were there for lunch. In one meal the sauce was very salty and the other dish (fish) was completely unseasoned and the fish was completely hard. Since most of the reviews are very positive, we were very disappointed with the food and will definitely not be coming back. The people at the next table weren't happy either. Oh yes, we weren't asked if we liked it either.

We once again had a very nice evening in Castrop-Rauxel's best Chinese restaurant! The menu is very extensive and well designed. The restaurant impressively presents the wonderful range of Chinese cuisine. Our waitress was able to give us additional information about each menu and each course and did so in a very nice way. I feel very comfortable here and can only warmly recommend a visit.

FINALLY a Chinese restaurant without a buffet. The staff was very friendly, nice and attentive. The food was of good quality. We had a dish for two. All sauces individually tasted very good. Not just, as usual, sweet and sour or soy sauce. We had the butterfly platter. Tip MUST RESERVE. You should order a starter as the dishes are very tasty but not filling.

But urgently reserve a table, the restaurant is not big. It looks a bit inconspicuous from the outside, but it's old-fashioned and scores points with its food and service. There is a public parking lot opposite. Takeaway also available. Not a run-of-the-mill buffet - Chinese, which is of course not extremely cheap.
