China-Restaurant BI HU in Hamburg

It's amazing I remembered I wanted to write a review for this place. A visit to this restaurant is almost surreal. Looking at the interior, besides all the cobwebs, dust, and other grime, you notice that the furnishings are completely worn out. It's almost as if someone had revived a place that had been abandoned for years without changing a single thing. I'll refrain from commenting on the woman—presumably the owner—who was serving. Simply because I'm speechless at her rudeness. The starter salad is comparable to what you'd get at a cheap Greek restaurant: a carelessly thrown-together salad greens, a cucumber, and bell peppers drenched in cocktail sauce. It's almost edible compared to the starter soup. That one is disgusting! It's as if they've diluted hot and sour soup ten times and tried to spice it up with Maggi powder. And then there were those bits of jelly in it. I have to fight back the urge to gag just thinking about it. And I only ate half a spoonful! The main courses from the lunch menu were also of the lowest quality, but at least edible. Lots of cheap filler vegetables. The price-performance ratio was acceptable for such slop. We only ended up in this place out of necessity and because we didn't know the area. I'll never set foot in there again!

We always go there now when we want to eat Chinese food. The food is always fresh and very tasty. The portions are also perfectly adequate. The place itself could be a bit cozier, but hey, we're there to eat, not live.

It's really delicious here. The food tastes authentic and not like typical, generic Chinese food! Even though the decor is a bit dated, don't let that put you off! This is my second time here, and everything tasted absolutely amazing! I'm living here now and will be coming more often. And by the way: the prices are really very reasonable! Highly recommended! Another update, Dec. 25: We come regularly and always enjoy the good food and a quick chat with the owner 😊

Very tasty food and, above all, friendly staff, I can only recommend it (and very moderate prices for these times).

We hadn't even noticed the restaurant. We saw it on an episode of Sarah Kohr and decided to check it out. Today was the day. The ambiance isn't great. But we don't want to live here, just eat. We ordered citric duck and crispy sweet and sour chicken. Both dishes were hot and delicious. The restrooms are dated but clean. There are two steps to climb, so it's not suitable for wheelchair users.

I'm always happy to come back. Super delicious and super friendly. I feel at home here!

The menu is packed with specialties, including a small dim sum menu. I recommend the authentic Chinese dishes on the specials menu! I had a wonton 🛒 soup to start with. And for the main course, two roasted 🐖 pork with cabbage, peppers, bamboo shoots, and onions in a spicy sauce. It was a good portion of meat 🥩 and tasted delicious! Friendly service and unbeatable value for money! I'll be back 😊

Every now and then I get my dinner there to take away

I'm currently working nearby and discovered this restaurant for myself and co-workers. We really enjoy being there and will come back for dinner more often. The offer is very good and tasty. Thanks also for the friendly service. Dieter labes

Das Essen hat absolut geschmeckt und die Preise sind okay. Der Service war freundlich und das Essen kam schnell. Das Lokal ist schon älter und das sieht man auch. Aber in Coronazeiten kann sich wohl kein Gastronom eine Renovierung leisten. Tut dem ganzen aber nichts, wir haben uns wohl gefühlt und die Plätze und Geschirr waren sauber. Ich kann nicht alle Sterne geben weil es sehr gut aber nicht exzellent war. (Der oft erwähnte unschöne Boden entspricht leider der Wahrheit und könnte schnell behoben werden.)

Besser geht es nicht vom Geschmack her und die Familie die das Restaurant leitet ist auch sehr nett.

Es schmeckt, wird viel von chinesischen Landsleuten besucht und wir haben freundlichen Familienanschluss. Das Ambiente verhindert den fünften Stern. Der Besitzer werkelt mit frischen Zutaten selbst in der Küche. Stammchinese seit Jahren.

Wir haben etwas zum mitnehmen abgeholt. Die Einrichtung wirkte schon etwas angefressen. Das Essen war ok, aber auch nichts besonderes. Für die gebratenen Nudeln statt Reis musste ich ganze 2€extra zahlen. Die Zubereitungszeit lag bei 20 Minuten.

Gute Auswahl an verschiedenen Gerichten.

Das China Restaurant Bi Hu in Hamburg ist ein kleines und sehr nettes chinesisches Restaurant mit freundlichem Personal und empfehlenswertem Service. Es tut gut, in der "Fischstadt" auch einmal etwas anderes zu Essen, was man hier in sehr netter Atmosphäre tun kann. Für mich ein guter Tip in der Hanseatenstadt.
