It used to be really good. It's gone downhill drastically. Now it's all about quantity and no quality. What a shame.

Quantity over quality seems to be the motto here. We were certainly disappointed. It felt more like "mass production." The food quality ranged from good to slightly below average. As is so often the case: not recommended for vegetarians. However, even our non-vegetarian friends were disappointed.

We always enjoy coming here for the buffet. In the summer, it's lovely to sit outside.

The China 🇨🇳 Restaurant in Refrath Is centrally located and offers a variety of delicious food and drinks. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The delicious buffet selection includes, for example, crispy duck, breaded chicken breast, fried potatoes, breaded fish 🐠, shrimp, prawns, thick ribs, and much more, with a wide selection. The ambiance, as the name suggests, is reminiscent of a Chinese restaurant.

The food was, as always, delicious, fresh, and hot. The service was very friendly and attentive. We always enjoy eating at China Palace.

Great people, service, atmosphere, and the incredible variety of delicious food at the buffet. Great value for money. We were there recently with my mom; we really enjoyed it and had a great time. We'd be happy to come back.

We've been going there for years. Now we're having to think twice about whether we can still afford it at these prices. At first, we paid €14.90 per person, and the place was always full, and now almost all the tables are free. Now €28.90 It's become far too expensive.

The China Palace Restaurant is a wonderful place for anyone who loves Asian food. The buffet selection is impressive – fresh, varied, and always well-stocked. The hot dishes, in particular, are excellently seasoned and taste authentic, but the sushi and appetizers are also of very good quality. The service is extremely friendly and attentive, and the staff make you feel immediately at home. The ambiance also contributes greatly to the positive experience: cozy, well-maintained, and with a pleasant atmosphere that invites you to linger. Whether with family, friends, or alone – a visit here is always worthwhile. For me, it's one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

Whether it's just for two or with the whole family, it's always great. Whether it's just for fun or for a birthday or Christmas. Whether it's a varied self-service buffet or a la carte, we're always happy to come back. The very friendly staff, clean atmosphere, and extensive buffet are the reasons why we make the long journey from the Rhein-Erft district at least 4-5 times a year.

The food was delicious, and the buffet offered a wide selection, and everything was hot. The service was friendly, but it was very busy, so our old plates sat on the table for a long time. Because it was very crowded, it wasn't very cozy and was noisy.

Buffet often empty or dried out. Sushi is barely edible or empty. After paying, you only get a real receipt upon request. Otherwise, you only get an "informational invoice," which is not a real receipt and can be canceled after payment. (Just google it)

The food was warm and fresh at lunchtime, attention was paid to cleanliness, there was a good selection, it was well attended but the buffet was still not crowded. The only small criticisms were that it was not pointed out that there was no fresh food at the buffet at lunchtime, and it took a while to be greeted and to find someone to pay.

We ate there with nine people. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations. The tables weren't cleared despite repeated requests, which led to a severe wasp problem. There were numerous flies at the buffet, which was very unappealing. Drinks had to be requested repeatedly, and the service seemed unfriendly. The terrace was also not clean. The food tasted okay, but due to the aforementioned circumstances, hardly anyone was able to take advantage of the all-you-can-eat option. Overall, a disappointing experience.

After 2 p.m., there's no point going there. There's hardly anything left in the containers. The sweet bananas are all brown inside... fresh is something else entirely :( And not for those prices... no, with all due respect.

The beer garden is very nice. We weren't particularly satisfied with the food. The selection at the Mongolian buffet is small, and the Chinese food all tasted the same. We'll stick to our regular Chinese restaurant in Cologne Zollstock in the future.

We ate here again today. We're still thrilled with the food. For us, this will always be a solid place to go for delicious Chinese/Mongolian food.

I went to this Chinese buffet restaurant with my daughters, and unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. No matter which dish you try, everything tastes the same. There's a complete lack of variety and quality in the flavors. The food seemed carelessly prepared and didn't feel fresh. What was truly unacceptable, however, was that with the "freshly prepared" mussel dish, I discovered two dead flies in the pot from which the mussels had been taken. An absolute no-go and a clear sign of poor hygiene. It's no surprise that all three of us got diarrhea afterward. It seems more about offering as much buffet as possible and making a quick buck than delivering real quality. If you just want to eat a lot and affordably, you might find something here, but if you value good, clean food, you'd be better off choosing a steakhouse or another restaurant with higher standards. I'm really not a particularly picky guest, but I'm definitely never going back here. It's a shame.

The hot food buffet was mostly lukewarm. However, there was a wide selection of dishes, providing plenty of alternatives.

A very nice restaurant with comfortable seating. There's plenty of space and it's also suitable for larger groups. The buffet is very well-organized and always fresh. Selected fish and raw meat are freshly prepared and brought to your table. The staff and service are of a high standard, friendly and attentive. We felt very comfortable. After dinner, you can take a stroll along the Rhine promenade, which is just a few meters away on foot. Parking is available nearby and is free with a parking disc. The restaurant is highly recommended. We will visit it more often in the future, despite the long journey.

Unfortunately, no longer recommended. I arrived at 8 p.m. and a lot of things were already out. A lot of things didn't look particularly appetizing, like the icebox. At 8:45 p.m., they started sorting the cutlery and restocking all the plates, etc. Of course, the whole thing was a lot of noise. An hour later, they were still at it. I left because it was too annoying. That's what you do when all the guests have left. And you paid €60 for it.

The food here is very varied and mostly delicious. I haven't tried anything there yet that I really didn't like, and I've been there a few times. Some dishes are drenched in oil, which isn't so good for those with a weak stomach, but if you avoid these dishes, even those with sensitive stomachs can enjoy a perfectly good meal here. :) At Christmas, they always give you sweet gifts here. I now drink from the mug I received at the Christmas buffet on the 24th every day. ☺️

I was invited to a birthday party. It was huge and very crowded with other partygoers. There were no lines at the buffet, but there were too many kids who had to fend for themselves. More space between the dishes would have been good, as some of the food was later contaminated, for example, the sweet and sour sauce with peanuts.

Everything was fine. The buffet was good, as always. Highly recommended!

At the buffet it seems more like a bakery at Cologne main station - nobody can move there. Squeezing through the buffet, you would often see empty bowls on the buffet in front of you, very often and for a long time. Service isn't exactly the friendliest or fastest. We wouldn't go there again.

Last year I was enthusiastic about this shop... but yesterday at 1:30 p.m. I was extremely disappointed, the food was pretty empty, after it wasn't served... the quality was also bad, the meat was tough...

Terrible! We were there for the first and last time (lunch buffet). The restaurant seems old and dirty. The mirrors on the ceiling definitely haven't been cleaned for months. There were squishy fries on the floor in the buffet area (of course that can happen), but everyone ran through them and none of the staff obviously felt responsible for doing a quick clean up there. The food was almost permanently out of stock and was only replenished slowly and in small quantities. So you could never actually put together the plate you wanted because something was always missing. In between there was no rice for a really long time, which is almost inexplicable to me. We found it really outrageous that large drinks (0.4) were served without asking - even to children.

I'm there very, very often. Today on my 22nd birthday I got something as a gift and a sparkler with a large drink and a bunch of grapes. I always feel very comfortable there and everyone is super nice. A really lovely employee took some really nice pictures of us outside. Thank you very much for the great birthday evening with you🥰

First of all, the location and ambience are great. The beer garden in the courtyard is excellent, and the restaurant is right next to a park. The service is friendly. We didn't like the food that much, which was probably due to the ingredients. All in all, we were full 😊

Nach längerer Zeit waren wir mal wieder in diesem Restaurant. Leider hat sich sowohl die Qualität der Speisen als auch die Freundlichkeit des Personals nochmal verschlechtert. Seit 2022 ist es immer schlechter und unfreundlicher geworden!! Die Mitarbeiterinnen sind sichtlich beleidigt, wenn man nicht Buffet nimmt, weil sie ansonsten mehr zu tun haben! Die Speisen sind nicht frisch und voller Glutamat, was mein Magen direkt bemerkt! Nicht zu empfehlen!

Simply pleasant on the terrace when the weather is nice/nice inside, but a bit noisy due to the size and crowds. The buffet has something for everyone. Whether Mongolian cuisine, Chinese, classic salad bar or tons of ice cream and fruit, you just have to bring time and hunger😇

Nice Chinese restaurant with a rich buffet.

Incredibly bad. We went there with friends for a buffet on a Friday evening. The atmosphere was like a canteen: loud, uncomfortable, crowded and very busy. The food was overcooked monotony, lukewarm, of poor quality, bland, overcooked, with no taste but with a lot of glutamate. The beef was inedible, as was the sushi. It's a shame about all that money. Once and never again.

We have been going to China Palace for years and have always been very happy with the food. Recently we went back and the food just didn't taste good at all. Everything was very bland and tasteless. We didn't like anything, the money was like wasted. Why, what happened? Does the store have a new owner?

I went there today with friends and the service was good, but we weren't impressed with the food. Either it wasn't tasty or there wasn't enough. There was little choice for dessert, which was a shame.

Leider hat die Qualität sehr nachgelassen. Der Lachs vom Sushi hat viele Gräten und Knorpel. Es ist überall viel Glutamat vorhanden. Insgesamt auch zu hektisch. War früher viel besser. Wir werden nicht mehr hingehen.

Nothing to complain about, freshly grilled food is served to the table with a numbered bracket. There is also a lot of different food to choose from. Rooms are big enough. A nice-to-have would be a chocolate fountain for fruit and desserts, which I missed.

Unfortunately, all dishes here are prepared with glutamates. This means that the food is inedible if you know the health effects of glutamate.

If we are hungry and don't have time to cook, but want something special, we go there. I can only recommend it; clean, tasty, great!!!

Christmas and New Year's dinner in the "China Palace" in Refrath. Typical Chinese atmosphere. A truly huge buffet of delicious Asian treats! The selection was excellent. Something for everyone! The evening was simply great! From a culinary point of view, there was simply everything on the buffet... everything tasted impeccably and was always freshly refilled. The food was really fantastic! Nice, fast, courteous service! The selection of all the dishes is incredible! An evening with delicious food with a wide selection in a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended! This wasn't my first, let alone last, time in this restaurant! THUMBS UP! Both of them! I would love to come back!

We went to China Palace for Christmas dinner today and it was great as always. Today's buffet left you speechless. Nothing was missing. Even clams and king prawns (cooked or raw with lemon) were always replenished in abundance. The dishes all taste very good and, above all, are still very warm and not, like in other restaurants, cold before they are on the plate. Even though the restaurant was fully booked, the staff remained friendly and calm. Despite the many guests, the volume was very pleasant. The extremely nice boss, who is always on site, has the store well under control. We are always happy to take the route from Porz to Refrath and are happy to award 5 well-deserved stars!!!
