Went there for the first time today. Very friendly and attentive staff. The burgers taste very good and at fair prices. We'd love to come back.

Today we went to Chillers for the second time, an air-conditioned, stylish Californian restaurant. We loved the chicken platters so much on our first visit that we definitely wanted to have them again. Instead of being crispy, tender and juicy like the first meal, the chicken wings today were hard and dry, the boneless wings and tenders were still ok. The Californian Jerk Sauce was again incredibly tasty. The soft pretzel bites with cheddar sauce were really good. Let's see how it goes next time. .

Tasty and with great proportions. The waiting time was only 10-15 minutes, so we didn't have to wait long. Chicken was okay but not particularly wow. I still liked the fries. Overall, Chillers was a nice place to have a date night or meet up with friends.

The epitome of 4.5. Not perfect, but very good. There's nothing wrong with the price and food. The room seems a bit empty. Apart from that, there was an employee in the kitchen preparing the food who was complaining loudly. Otherwise we had a very nice evening. If you want to fill up a lot for little money, then go for one of the loaded fries.

Delicious food with good quality, portion and price. Friendly, unobtrusive service. Portion sachets of ketchup/mayo are served with the fries, which is a shame and reduces the otherwise good impression. Nice squeeze bottles would add more charm.

A really nice and “chilled” place to end the evening. Food was very good and the portions were also large. There is also an extra children's menu and there is enough choice there too. Everyone can find something to eat here. There is definitely enough choice on offer. The waitress was super friendly and offered us drinks on the house after she made a mistake and forgot to forward our order to the kitchen. Ambiance is just really “chill”. We came up here from Trier to the movie park and decided to go out for dinner here in the evening. It was worth it and is recommended.

Super nice shop that is on a side street in downtown Essen. The food is very tasty, the portions are a reasonable size & the service has always been super nice, attentive and helpful.

We were at Chillers with a group of 11 people. The food was good and enough to fill you up. The surroundings are like a diner. The conditions were initially good, but unfortunately the service declined the later it got.

We were on a road trip through California just last month and really missed the authentic American diner feeling. At Chillers Restaurant in Essen we finally found this feeling again! The atmosphere, the food and the service are simply top. The Mac 'n' Cheese Bites in particular are amazing - absolutely delicious and just like we know from the USA. We'll definitely be back! #AmericanDiner

We ordered 2x chicken waffles and a burger. Stay away from the chicken waffles. The waffles didn't look well baked and didn't taste like anything, and the chicken was too dry and not seasoned. The food just didn't taste good because you didn't taste anything. 2/10 stars for this. Burger was quite ok, fries were good too. After we told the waitress that we didn't like it, she offered us a free drink, which I thought was very nice. We chose the watermelon lemonade, which we really liked. It wasn't too sweet at all, very refreshing 7/10. I would come back for the drinks, but definitely not the food.

Unfortunately I have to deduct two stars for the service because we waited over 40 minutes for our food. If you are understaffed, you can tell the customer and they won't be surprised. But 40 minutes is already a long time and not all the tables were occupied yet. What was also noticed was that the tables were divided among the service staff, but the service staff at our table only came to the table to pay, not even to ask if we wanted anything else or if everything was ok. In addition, my turkey breast fillet was still raw at one point, which is why the food is one star less. Otherwise the food, like my husband's burger, was super tasty

Unfortunately the fries were very salty. The burgers were solid. Unfortunately, the service wasn't particularly friendly either. I would have liked to have used the loaded fries, but there is no way to replace the fries that come with the burger. So you would inevitably have two portions.

Drinks (iced tea & lemonade) were bad, not homemade, way too sweet, tasted artificial. Food (burger we put together ourselves) didn't taste good, had no taste, fries were cheap oven fries, sauce in the burger didn't taste like anything, we returned half the plate. The service wasn't attentive, but nice. When we finished eating, the plates took a long time to be cleared away. When paying, the amount was simply typed in without showing the invoice first. We only received the invoice when we asked. About the ambience: we didn't really feel comfortable, there was cheap cutlery and the knife that was in the burger was greasy and sticky on the handle, our bench was sagging and we found used tissues under the cushions and there was rubbish (paper) on the floor ).

My favorite restaurant now! If you like creative and unusual American cuisine, away from all the fast food rubbish, this is the place for you!!

Worst experience. The service was an absolute disaster. We sat down at a table that was still dirty and the waitress promised to wipe it down. Despite repeated requests, this did not happen. Later another lady came to take over the table, but the rag she used was obviously dirty and our table smelled. When we told the waitress about this again, she assured us that she would clean the table again - but that didn't happen again. About our food order: After a long wait, we finally ordered and the food came to our table cold. The waitress was passive aggressive and constantly ignored our requests, whether for sauce or lactose-free milk. In the end we spoke to the boss and gave really constructive criticism. The waitress then started crying. Given the situation, we remained very calm even though we were very angry. It felt like our legitimate grievances were being used against us, especially since we are Black women. It was sad to see that we were only heard because we remained quiet. Despite the refund, this was one of the worst restaurant visits I have ever experienced.

Simply great and nothing to complain about. Super stylish lounge and bar with great music! It's really fun to hang out there with friends. Was there again with my gang. We also ate and kudos here too. The sandwiches are super class. And another mega milkshake for dessert. See you soon.

Since we already know Chillers in Bochum and enjoy going there, we had high expectations of the new store in Essen - and were not disappointed 🥳 the store has turned out great, the interior design is awesome, we actually still have something like that not seen, the outside area is also beautifully done. The food was great as usual, large portions and very good quality. The service is extremely friendly and attentive, all in all we can only say: Top!!! Dear Chillersteam, please keep it up, we'll be happy to come back, even though we're now spoiled for choice whether we go to Bochum or Essen 😅

I don't often write reviews, but today was an opportunity for me. The service was poor, disorganized and disinterested. It wasn't until more than 20 minutes later that I got a beer. The chicken plate consisted of fillet with uninspired half-melted cheese slices, the vegetables burnt black. Asked twice for mayonnaise, promised twice, never received it. After ten minutes of not seeing any staff, I have to pay at the counter. Many half-full plates were also returned to other tables. Shame!

I always like to try or test something different. The food was completely okay and everything else that I actually liked, but these are luxury problems, the burger still needs a special taste, it tastes the same like everywhere else

Unfortunately not nearly what you expected. Service from 2 people was not nice. The burgers (7 pieces) were all too burnt and not seasoned and didn't even taste like fresh vegetables. It would also be great if people pointed out that NeoTaste doesn't work on Buildyourown Burger, even though you asked seconds before whether NeoTaste works on every burger. Very disappointed and above average burger prices.

There were four people there, starters were okay, unfortunately three of the four main courses (burgers) were served incorrectly. Despite the request without onions, they were served and instead of crispy chicken only chicken was delivered as a patty. When one of us wanted a new burger without onions, it arrived after just three minutes, so only the onions were removed, which is a no go. When we complained again, the new burger took over 25 minutes and the other three were already finished eating. It's a shame, that's not how we imagined it. The cocktails at the end also took over 20 minutes and the glasses of various cocktails were all covered in sugar, sugar on the rim doesn't belong on every cocktail. Unfortunately, the beer glass at the beginning was also dirty.

The great and varied weekly offers are highly recommended and will now be part of my routine.
