For us, Chillers is a must every time we are in Essen. There are incredibly delicious burgers here, as well as good vegetarian alternatives to the meat patties. Great ambience and friendly service. I would also like to mention the child-friendliness. There is an extra children's menu that can also be colored in.

Unfortunately I cannot agree with the many positive reviews. I've had a lot of Eggs Benedict, but this was definitely one of the worst. To my disappointment, the brioche bread was a dry slice of ready-made bread, the egg was overcooked and there was a dismal-looking slice of cheese on top of the whole thing. Sauces are not coordinated and the LAX version wasn't much better. It's a shame that the coffee wasn't convincing either. Still nice service and fair prices PS: the owner is trying by all means to have honest reviews deleted instead of taking the criticism constructively. Too bad!

I had an American breakfast here with friends on Saturday morning. The service was good and quick, but was initially able to take exclusive care of us. I first had a stuffed omelette with hash browns. Both very tasty. However, I knew the hash browns from the IHOP in Vegas were a little looser in consistency. Here it was more like hash browns. The pancake was fluffy and with the chocolate lakes it was a chocolate bomb. Very good. The milkshake was a touch too creamy. Overall, a safe 5 stars, but the price-performance ratio is rather in the upper range. However: even I couldn't eat anything again until late in the evening with that portion...

The food was delicious, the prices were a bit steep and the service could have been a bit more attentive (despite, or perhaps because of, the low number of visitors that evening). :)

Whether it's a birthday or a company party, every moment feels a little more special here. The combination of great food and inviting ambience makes every celebration unforgettable. We'll be back.

I love the positive and casual atmosphere here, it's really a great place to meet up with friends and enjoy delicious food.👌👌👌

First something positive: the atmosphere is relatively chic and the service was very friendly. Unfortunately, I was absolutely not impressed with the taste. The burger patty was unseasoned, far too thick and didn't appear to be homemade and the fries obviously came from the freezer and in my case were also unseasoned. Overall, the food gave the impression of warmed up food from the frozen section. The sauce on the burger was tasty and the bun was okay, but if the flavor of a burger only comes from the sauce, you have a problem. At the end of the day, the average price of €16 per dish is too expensive and there are simply better alternatives in this price segment.

With an outside temperature of 24 degrees and a maximum of 1/5 occupancy inside, the service staff had no desire to serve outside. Despite demand!! That's why I can't judge the food. But service: unfortunately I didn't see any. I actually won't be visiting this place again. It's a shame... you'd better go to the Tofino in Rüttenscheid... At least you can get everything done together. .

Went there for the first time today. Very friendly and attentive staff. The burgers taste very good and at fair prices. We'd love to come back.

Today we went to Chillers for the second time, an air-conditioned, stylish Californian restaurant. We loved the chicken platters so much on our first visit that we definitely wanted to have them again. Instead of being crispy, tender and juicy like the first meal, the chicken wings today were hard and dry, the boneless wings and tenders were still ok. The Californian Jerk Sauce was again incredibly tasty. The soft pretzel bites with cheddar sauce were really good. Let's see how it goes next time. .

Tasty and with great proportions. The waiting time was only 10-15 minutes, so we didn't have to wait long. Chicken was okay but not particularly wow. I still liked the fries. Overall, Chillers was a nice place to have a date night or meet up with friends.

Very nice staff and very spacious

The epitome of 4.5. Not perfect, but very good. There's nothing wrong with the price and food. The room seems a bit empty. Apart from that, there was an employee in the kitchen preparing the food who was complaining loudly. Otherwise we had a very nice evening. If you want to fill up a lot for little money, then go for one of the loaded fries.

Delicious food with good quality, portion and price. Friendly, unobtrusive service. Portion sachets of ketchup/mayo are served with the fries, which is a shame and reduces the otherwise good impression. Nice squeeze bottles would add more charm.

A really nice and “chilled” place to end the evening. Food was very good and the portions were also large. There is also an extra children's menu and there is enough choice there too. Everyone can find something to eat here. There is definitely enough choice on offer. The waitress was super friendly and offered us drinks on the house after she made a mistake and forgot to forward our order to the kitchen. Ambiance is just really “chill”. We came up here from Trier to the movie park and decided to go out for dinner here in the evening. It was worth it and is recommended.

We were at Chillers with a group of 11 people. The food was good and enough to fill you up. The surroundings are like a diner. The conditions were initially good, but unfortunately the service declined the later it got.

Arrived in Essen for our first ever visit en route to Berlin. We walk around the old town looking for somewhere to eat and fortunately found Chillers. The staff were great and even helped me with my German, i couldn't remember the word for repeat.. Weiderholen! I'll never forget. Food was better than pub grub, and the sort you'd expect from a burger bar to be honest. Good value for money and very tasty...as was the beer.

Citizens are one of the best, if not the best, in food right now. The fries version with chicken are also recommended... it was our first but not last visit and the service was again top, thank you very much for that we will be back 100%

We were on a road trip through California just last month and really missed the authentic American diner feeling. At Chillers Restaurant in Essen we finally found this feeling again! The atmosphere, the food and the service are simply top. The Mac 'n' Cheese Bites in particular are amazing - absolutely delicious and just like we know from the USA. We ordered 2x chicken waffles and a burger. Stay away from the chicken waffles. The waffles didn't look well baked and didn't taste like anything, and the chicken was too dry and not seasoned. The food just didn't taste good because you didn't taste anything. 2/10 stars for this. Burger was quite ok, fries were good too. After we told the waitress that we didn't like it, she offered us a free drink, which I thought was very nice. We chose the watermelon lemonade, which we really liked. It wasn't too sweet at all, very refreshing 7/10. I would come back for the drinks, but definitely not the food.

This is the best shop. Everyone will find what they are looking for here. Whether it's a burger, a sandwich, etc. everything is prepared perfectly. The chicken in particular is a hit

Unfortunately the fries were very salty. The burgers were solid. Unfortunately, the service wasn't particularly friendly either. I would have liked to have used the loaded fries, but there is no way to replace the fries that come with the burger. So you would inevitably have two portions.

Unfortunately I have to deduct two stars for the service because we waited over 40 minutes for our food. If you are understaffed, you can tell the customer and they won't be surprised. But 40 minutes is already a long time and not all the tables were occupied yet. What was also noticed was that the tables were divided among the service staff, but the service staff at our table only came to the table to pay, not even to ask if we wanted anything else or if everything was ok. In addition, my turkey breast fillet was still raw at one point, which is why the food is one star less. Otherwise the food, like my husband's burger, was super tasty
