Checkpoint Restaurant & Bar in Berlin

The location in the heart of Berlin is fantastic. Unfortunately, the service in the restaurant is absolutely terrible. We waited over 1.5 hours for our food, which was served by a robot and then sat around in front of the bar for quite some time, waiting for the staff to bring it. By the time it finally arrived at our table, it was already cold. During the long wait, no one even bothered to ask if we wanted anything to drink.

We had a half-board booking at the Maritim and were served this menu in the hotel's "Checkpoint Restaurant & Bar." To put it bluntly, we were more than pleasantly surprised, and our expectations were significantly exceeded that evening. Our starter, main course, and dessert, which we couldn't choose, were very, very delicious, and we're already being critical. The delicious food was complemented by attentive, expert service at eye level. Many thanks again, Mr. Kututzki. But there was another highlight that evening, one we had never seen in person before. And that was a great-looking service robot named Gisela, who brought us our food. In Berlin, everything is much more advanced with AI than at home. Conclusion: A well-deserved 5 stars for the delicious food, the good service, the value for money, and, of course, the conversation with the service robot.

The service was incredibly bad; you felt like you weren't wanted. Even after waiting 20 minutes and walking past you several times, you weren't offered a table. If you spoke to the waitress, you were ignored. After 10 minutes, she came back and said, "Talk to me now." The order took a long time and was then incorrect. The taste was okay.

Open from midday onwards, you can also enjoy a delicious rump steak here in the afternoon. It was excellent.

The service is good but we didn't liked the food. Small portions and it's very expensive. The cost of 0.25l of water is 3.80€, for soft drinks (0.2l) something like that too. It's over the top. Not coming again for sure.

Cold food, worst cocktail even tho the tickets says "premix" for 10.5 euro. Rudest male staff member i have ever encountered. Never wore his mask, shoved a menu in your general direction and when asked if i could order just said "sit down! Colleague helps you" when he wasn't doing anything in a nearly empty bar and we had been sitting there for over half an hour at that point. Was planning on eating there for the duration of my stay but glad i didn't.

Crowd was sparse at most but still couldn’t get any of the bartenders’ attention to get a drink. Managed to ask a bartender as he was rushing by but he promptly forgot. We just paid and left. Decor is basic 90s hotel bar. In short: go elsewhere if you’re looking to have a drink in an enjoyable atmosphere.

Barpersonal nur mit gebrochenem deutsch und sehr abweisend, sowie ignorierend gegenüber denn Gästen. Währenddessen lief der gleiche Song 5 mal, auf Nachfrage diesen zu wechseln, lief er weiter...

Lovely bar with a nice relaxed atmosphere. Can get busy on a Saturday night so expect a little wait to get served. The bar man serves the best MaiTai cocktails in Berlin. Long live the MaiTai Man!!

Hummerfestival, der Wahnsinn hoch drei, Hummer satt in allen Variationen, zum Dessert gibt es leider keine Macarons mehr !

A marvelous breakfast! Anyone staying within 10km of this buffet should be eating here to start their day. The assortment of cheese, bread and meats would be difficult to consume in one sitting, but regardless of what I put on my plate it proved delicious. The salmon and brie on a soft roll was my favorite combination out of their selection. Their omelet station was quick and attentive and I remain impressed with the fresh bread they had on display. I will be returning to this delectable buffet before my flight tomorrow!

Ab 00:15 wird man nicht mehr bedient sondern 'übersehen'. In der Bar waren zu dem Zeitpunkt eine Handvoll Besucher, deshalb denke ich nicht dass dies an Überfüllung lag Nachdem man dann zum Tresen gegangen ist weil ja niemand kommt um eine Bestellung aufzunehmen wartet man 15 - 20 Min. Auf die 2 bestellten Cocktails. Absolutes No-Go.
