A sentence with an X... that's probably the best way to describe our visit to Platzhirsch. Or also unprofessional and hopelessly overwhelmed. After we had already reserved a visit to Platzhirsch online at the end of October and received confirmation via email, we went to the location on the said date, full of anticipation. Only to discover that we weren't on the reservation list and therefore couldn't find a spot. Our name apparently didn't appear on the list until the next day. The completely overwhelmed staff left us standing in the entrance area for about 15 minutes, while half of them ignored us so as not to be asked about the problem, while the other half disappeared for minutes, only to then inform us that there were no alternatives or suggested solutions. Only a verbal apology from the receptionist present. Now you might think, bad luck, an isolated incident. But two ladies who arrived after us had the same experience. The unprofessional handling of the appointment scheduling is topped only by their helplessness when problems arise. Therefore, only 1 star for the quite beautiful and appealing ambience that we could glimpse from the narrow entrance area.

I had lunch at the restaurant and only went to the back of the hotel to smoke, so I can't comment on the offerings at the Platzhirsch. But the food at the restaurant was excellent.

A very nice restaurant. Fine and exclusive cuisine.
