Ein absolut herausragendes indisches Restaurant! Chairoti hebt sich deutlich von den klassischen 08/15-Indern ab. Die Qualität der Speisen ist auf einem ganz anderen Niveau – jedes Gericht ist hervorragend abgeschmeckt, mit frischen Zutaten zubereitet und wunderschön angerichtet. Man merkt sofort, dass hier viel Wert auf Authentizität und Qualität gelegt wird. Auch das Ambiente ist stilvoll und hochwertig, sodass man sich vom ersten Moment an wohlfühlt. Der Service ist ausgesprochen freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Wer wirklich außergewöhnlich gutes indisches Essen sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Für mich eines der besten indischen Restaurants überhaupt – ich komme definitiv wieder!

Wir hatten insgesamt ein tolles Erlebnis. Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam, und das Essen war gut. Die Samosa war eher durchschnittlich und nichts Besonderes, aber das Butter Chicken war köstlich und definitiv das Highlight des Essens. Ich kann es nur empfehlen, dazu Naan zu bestellen – die beiden passen hervorragend zusammen.

Das Personal ist Mega nett. Ich hatte super viel Hunger und obwohl ich um kurz vor acht da war, hab ich noch ein Mega leckeres Essen von der Küche bekommen. Es gibt ein sehr schönes Ambiente zum draußen sitzen im Sommer.

Gemütliches indisches Restaurant. Die Speisen waren für indisch eher mild also nicht so scharf aber sehr aromatisch und rund im Geschmack. Also wirklich gelungen. Die Auswahl war sehr groß hauptsächlich Gerichte mit Huhn, Lamm oder vegetarisch/vegan. Im ganzen gute Auswahl und hat auch sehr gut geschmeckt. Auf jeden Fall nochmal wenn wir wieder in der Gegend sind.

Das vegetarische Biryani hier schmeckt genauso wie in Indien. Ambiente, Portionen, Qualität und Service waren super. Und zu guter Letzt: Unbedingt probieren sollte man den Masala Chai.

Einfach nur lecker!!! Sehr gute Qualität der Zutaten. Gute Beratung bei „Anfängern“ der indischen Küche. Die Gerichte sind für die deutschen Gaumen etwas abgemildert, aber für indische Gäste wird traditionell gekocht. Sehr leckere Cocktails. Sehr netter engagierter Service, Hundefreundlich. Ich verstehe den Hype in den Bewertungen nicht. Das Essen war bestenfalls mittelmäßig. Wir bestellten Limonade für 7,50 €. Für den Preis hätte ich hausgemachte erwartet, aber sie war einfach aus der Flasche eingeschenkt und mit Minze, Zitrone und viel zu viel Eis garniert. Das Naan war total durchgeweicht, wir haben es gar nicht gegessen. Wir hatten Spinat-Lamm (Lamm Saag), die Soße war okay, aber das Lamm selbst war etwas trocken. Ich war überrascht, amerikanische Musik zu hören; das hat die Atmosphäre total gestört.

Ich habe indisches Essen probiert, es war köstlich! Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder.

Wir waren heute das erste Mal im Restaurant. Wir haben zwei Vorspeisen zu dritt bestellt, das eine waren so Blumenkohl Und nanbrot. Als Hauptgang hatten wir alle drei Hähnchen bestellt. Das von mir war Butter Chicken und es war einfach nur genial. Auch die Location sieht richtig toll aus und es gibt auch Sitznischen, die richtig gemütlich sind.Wir werden definitiv wiederkommen.

Fleisch ist halal. Die Bedienung ist super nett. Ich hatte ein Chicken Tikka Masala und das Chicken war richtig lecker und weich. Die Soße war auch deliziös. Mein Basmati Reis und der Salat war auch perfekt zubereitet. Es ist schwierig Parkplätze in der Innenstadt zu finden. Parkhaus am Rathaus könnte ich empfehlen.

Essen mega geil, für mich leider an ticken zu dunkel im Lokal, Bedienung sehr schnell..könnt noch a bissl mehr Leidenschaft mitbringen...Augenkontakt...Herzlichkeit..nichts..desto trotz..mega geiles Essen...und..mein Gaumen is scho sehr verwöhnt...TOP empfehlenswert!

Wer in Ingolstadt authentische indische Küche mit einem kreativen Touch sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Die Fusionsgerichte haben mich positiv überrascht – die Bollywood Tacos 🌮 und das Flying Tandoori sind wirklich originell, ohne aufgesetzt zu wirken, und beide waren absolut köstlich. Die wahren Stars sind aber die Klassiker. Chole Bhature und Biryani gehören zweifellos zu den besten, die ich je in ganz Deutschland gegessen habe – reichhaltig und perfekt gewürzt. Die Gulab Jamun mit Eis waren der perfekte Abschluss! Absolut empfehlenswert, egal ob man Lust auf etwas Vertrautes hat oder etwas Neues probieren möchte. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder! 😄

Sehr gute Qualität und Geschmack. Leider sind die Getränke viel zu teuer… 4,90€ für 0,3l Schorle !! Es ist sogar mittlerweile in München billiger.

Update Januar 2026 Speisekarte wurde überarbeitet und dabei manche Gerichte gestrichen, insbesondere sämtliche Südindische Spezalitäten. Statt Mutton Nilgiri gibt's jetzt "Lamm Spinat Curry", das hat für meinen Geschmack wenig mit vergleichbaren Gerichten in anderen indischen Restaurants zu tun. Auch war der Service beim ersten Besuch in diesem Jahr etwas chaotisch und die Wartezeiten lang. Liebe Gastronomen, ihr habt ein großzügiges Steuergeschenk von unserer Regierung erhalten. Preissenkungen sehe und erwarte ich nicht - aber zumindest erwarte ich, dass Service und Qualität bei gleichem Preis nicht abnehmen. -------------------------- Generelle Bewertung: Extravagantes indisches Restaurant, hebt sich definitiv von anderen Indern ab. Vielfältige Auswahl an leckeren Vorspeisen, die man sonst nicht standardmäßig bekommt. Probiert unbedingt mal Pani Puri! Hauptgerichte ebenso lecker. Wer wirklich scharf essen möchte, sollte das dazusagen, dann wird entsprechend gewürzt. Ansonsten sind die Gerichte recht mild gewürzt. Servicequalität schwankt leider durch ständig wechselndes Personal. Am Wochenende auch mal Wartezeiten auf einen Tisch trotz Reservierung. Bei einem unserer Besuche hat die Bedienung leider beim Servieren versehentlich Getränke umgeschüttet, so dass ein Gast an unserem Tisch eine unfreiwillige Dusche abbekam. Sowas kann mal passieren, klar... Dass es aber ohne jegliche Entschädigung gehandhabt wird, finde ich dann doch etwas kurios.

Ein wirklich gutes indisches Restaurant! Das Lamm Vindaloo war nicht zu scharf und sehr zart. Achtung: Freitags ist das Restaurant sehr voll, daher kann es etwas länger dauern, bis Sie Ihr Essen bekommen!

Das Essen kam schnell und war überaus lecker. Die Portionen sind genau richtig, das Naan hat mit seiner leichten und fluffigen Art überzeugt und das Personal ist höflich und zuvorkommend.

Ich besuchte kürzlich dieses Restaurant mit meinem deutschen Kollegen, in der Hoffnung, ihm die authentische indische Küche näherzubringen. Leider war der Besuch eine ziemliche Enttäuschung. Wir bestellten Pani Puri und Manchurian als Vorspeise. Die Portion Manchurian war erschreckend klein – nur sechs bis sieben kleine Bällchen, was weit unter dem lag, was man für diesen Preis erwarten würde. Auch das Pani Puri war enttäuschend; die Kartoffelfüllung war spärlich, sodass es aussah, als ob nur das Nötigste serviert wurde. Als Hauptgericht probierten wir Dosa, wurden aber erneut enttäuscht. Das Kokosnuss-Chutney und der Sambar schmeckten nicht authentisch und überhaupt nicht so, wie man es in richtigen indischen Restaurants erwarten würde. Als Inder war es für mich sehr schade, dass mein Kollege nicht den wahren Geschmack unserer Küche erleben durfte. Zu allem Übel waren die Servierplatten abgenutzt und sogar eingerissen, was einen sehr schlechten Eindruck von Hygiene und Präsentation vermittelte. Insgesamt hatte ich den Eindruck, dass dem Restaurant der Profit wichtiger ist als Qualität und Kundenzufriedenheit. Diese Erfahrung war mir als Inderin, die unsere Esskultur gerne stolz präsentieren wollte, ziemlich peinlich. Ich hoffe sehr, dass das Restaurant in Zukunft die Portionsgrößen, die Authentizität und die Gesamtqualität verbessert.

Das Essen ist so lecker! Wenn du indisches Essen probieren möchtest, ist das einer der besten Orte in Ingolstadt. Ich liebe Kadai Chicken. Knoblauch-Naan mit Hühnersoße – einfach köstlich!

Mega leckeres Essen! Besonders die Starter kann ich sehr empfehlen. Meine absoluten Favoriten sind Pani Puri und veg. Manchurian ☺️

Superb food and atmosphere, definitely not your "standard Indian" restaurant; highly recommended. We've found every main course delicious so far! The restaurant's ambiance is also a fantastic, eclectic mix of beautiful, cool, cozy, modern, and creative. It's cozy and cozy in the three alcoves. Don't be put off by the dark, reflective window; if it's open, it's open, and it's very chilled inside! (If you're feeling a little strange: you can walk the first three meters into the shop and decide whether it's any good without feeling like the entire restaurant is watching you.) Very friendly service! Tip: Sip a masala chai afterward. And for those who appreciate it: nice dishes and glasses! ;)

The food was tasty and the service was great. We got the Tandoori chicken plate, garlic naan and Chicken Tikka Masala. Everything was delicious!

This is an absolute must-visit for anyone who loves Indian food! We enjoyed the food so much that we actually drove 3.5 hours back just to eat here again. Every dish had a truly authentic Indian flavor, reminding us of home. Kudos to the chef — the quality and taste easily rival some of the best restaurants in India.

The food was great. The service was excellent. Unfortunately, there was only one server for the entire restaurant that day. But she managed it well. I'd be happy to go again.

I had a really disappointing experience at Chairotti Indian Restaurant. The food did not taste freshly cooked at all. The sambhar, in particular, seemed outdated and had a stale flavor that made it almost inedible. While I will say that the service was polite and attentive, the quality of the food was extremely poor. For the price, I expected a lot better, but unfortunately the meal was far below standard. I would not recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic, fresh Indian food.

Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. It wasn't clear whether rice came with one dish, so I specifically asked. The waitress said, "Yes, it does." When the food finally arrived after 45 minutes, there was no rice. When I asked, she suddenly said there wasn't any – even though she had previously told me otherwise. She then said she could bring rice, but she'd take the naan bread back, which was fine with us. When she arrived, she took the naan bread off the plate with her hand. Totally unhygienic and strange. I hope it wasn't used for something else, but it's a shame if it ends up in the trash. We had also ordered an extra portion of naan bread at the beginning. When we saw that there was a lump of raw dough under the top piece that had apparently been forgotten to be baked, we told the waitress when she asked if everything was okay. She simply said "okay" and left. The next morning, we had stomach cramps and felt unwell. The taste wasn't impressive either. Service was unfriendly, and the handling of complaints was abysmal. Not recommended.

Good food although of course not very spicy. Only problem is on weekends the service is a very slow. It seems only the senior waitress is doing most of the work whilst the others occasionally help. We had also booked a table and we had to wait at the bar for a few minutes, which is fine, but the bartender completely ignored us. We had to then wait one whole hour for our food, others that got here after us had already been served and the waiters barely acknowledged us. It’s truly a pity as the rest of the time we’ve come here service is perfect.

Amazing food, the lemonades are also fantastic; we especially recommend the aloe vera mint ginger lemonade. This Flying Tandoori not only captured our attention right from the start with its presentation, but the servings could easily have served two people. The Indian chai is a must—typically traditional, of course. The location is very attractive and has a modern Indian feel. We'd love to come back! Many Indian locals in Ingolstadt eat here. I don't think there's a better compliment!

(They also did the same to my husband's 1-Star review of this restaurant.) To all the customers, who had a negative experience in this restaurant and posted an honest review of their experiences here on Google, please do not let this restaurant intimidate you. This is a DISGUSTING and FRAUDULENT way of doing business and this kind of behavior should be CALLED OUT! To the management of Chai Roti: FOCUS ON IMPROVING YOUR SERVICE INSTEAD OF RUNNING TO GOOGLE TO HAVE NEGATIVE RATINGS ABOUT YOUR RESTAURANT REMOVED! Clearly, your current 4.7 rating here is NOT REFLECTIVE of your ACTUAL, LEGITIMATE rating! Shame on you! UPDATE 20.12.23: Now this restaurant is challenging my review to get rid of negative reviews? Instead of striving to improve their food and service, or at least trying to address the concerns of their customers, they resort to complaining to Google to have negative reviews removed? That’s a shady way of conducting business! Now from 2 stars to an actual 1 star. NOT RECOMMENDING THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE. I would have given this restaurant a 1-star rating, had it not been for the senior waitress, who salvaged the rest of our evening. The bar keeper, for one, was quite rude and unprofessional. Instead of trying to resolve the concern of my partner’s friend, he went on to jut defend himself and had a very condescending tone. It’s a good thing that the senior waitress was there and took over to make sure that everything was in order after that. Another concern of mine and my partner was the food - it was very bland. This is an Indian restaurant and one would expect the food to be flavorful. However, that was not the case. I don’t think I’ll be coming back here again.

UPDATE 6/23/25: The restaurant has again requested Google to delete my post: "Google has received a complaint for the following legal reasons: defamation." Incidentally, the restaurant has not responded to the data I sent to Google on December 20, 2023 (including "proof" of my presence on the said day). So now, a new attempt with a new reason. But: This review is not defamation! I am describing a) facts that occurred in front of witnesses and b) evaluating the taste of the food – of course, such an assessment is always subjective. Furthermore, I was there – verifiable thanks to my credit card receipt. I am always open to a clarifying discussion. But they would rather issue a warning than engage with guests or contact them. UPDATE 12/20/23: Now this restaurant is demanding that my review be deleted via Google. Instead of making an effort to improve their food and service, or at least attempting to address their customers' concerns, they complain to Google about the removal of negative reviews? That's a very strange way to embellish their reviews! This review is from a visit on August 24, 2023: The bartender was quite rude and unprofessional. Instead of trying to address my friend's concerns, he simply defended himself and used a very condescending tone. It's a good thing the waitress made sure everything was sorted out afterward. The food was very bland. This is an Indian restaurant, and you'd expect the food to taste good. However, this wasn't the case. The next day, my friend and I had upset stomachs. I don't think I'll come back here again.

I've been visiting the Chai Roti restaurant in Ingolstadt regularly for several years now, and I'm always impressed. The food is prepared fresh and quickly, and it always tastes simply delicious. First visit, absolutely thrilled! This was my first time at Chai Roti – and I'm absolutely thrilled! As soon as you walk in, you're greeted warmly and given super friendly advice. Since I wasn't familiar with Indian food, I relied on the team's recommendation – and I wasn't disappointed. The dishes were incredibly aromatic, perfectly seasoned, and simply delicious. You could taste every ingredient, yet everything was wonderfully balanced. A true explosion of flavor – balanced, intense, and truly fresh! A particularly nice touch: From 6:00 PM, there's a happy hour for cocktails, which rounded off the evening perfectly. An all-around fantastic experience – I'll definitely be back!

Lange Zubereitungszeit, wirklich schlechte Qualität und Quantität des Abendessens, Fehlkalkulation beim Preis des Abendessens usw. … Wer serviert schon Samosas mit Barbecue-Sauce?!☹️

Based on her reviews, I had expected a lot more. The food was okay but nothing more—my mango chicken was very sweet. Appetizer and main course came quick and at the same time, so I had to send the main back. The atmosphere was fine, although they seated me in the less attractive part out front because I was alone. Overall, nothing special for the price.

I was just in South India for 3 months. The Chai Roti brings authentic South Indian street food to the table. Super tasty and a real addition to most other North Indian restaurants. My veggie recommendation: Manchurian and Chole Bhature.

Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist absolut fair. Wer auf der Suche nach großartigem Essen und tollen Drinks ist, sollte Chai Rati unbedingt ausprobieren. Ich komme definitiv wieder!

A really good Indian restaurant. The ambience is good. The service was top. There was a large group and the waitress kindly said in advance that the food might take a while. Then she came again and said that if we decide quickly, she would take our order (4 people) beforehand. The drinks came quickly and so did the food. To eat: The starter was the tacos, which sounds strange for an Indian, but hello... they were really incredibly good. The main course was also very good for all of us. Authentic as it should be. Unfortunately, my vindaloo was a bit mild for my taste (actually a spicy dish), but I also eat VERY spicy food. I think it would be very good for anyone “normal”. I deducted one star from the meal because the portion of Vindaloo was a bit too small for me. But you have to say there was no lack of naan and you still feel full. In terms of price, it's okay if you take the location etc. into account. All in all, I can really recommend the Chai Roti. And a little tip to drink a homemade tea after your meal, they are really good, especially the one with ginger.

My favorite Indian place in town, service is always kind and welcoming, the food is great, the portions are large and they are also dog friendly.

Chai Roti bietet ein authentisches kulinarisches Erlebnis, das durch eine moderne und gemütliche Atmosphäre abgerundet wird. Die Speisen sind hervorragend gewürzt und geschmacklich absolut authentisch – besonders die Samosas und das Veg. Manchurian sind ein Highlight! Der Service ist freundlich, aufmerksam und schnell. Für Vegetarier und Veganer gibt es viele tolle Optionen, was das Restaurant noch attraktiver macht.

Ordered some dishes to pick up. The Chicken Khorma was carelessly packed in cardboard boxes which then became soft and left cardboard residue in the food. Furthermore, it only tasted like coconut milk, was sweet and had strange bruises. The vegetarian food was packaged just as unappetizingly and basically consisted of a can of chickpeas with sauce. An absolute no-go for dishes that cost around 20 euros! But the good news was that after the complaint, they checked and called back and offered the money as a refund. Therefore improving the rating.

I can only recommend this restaurant. The food was really delicious, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was harmonious.

Coming from India it is usually hard to find a good Indian restaurant anywhere on Germany. We were positively surprised by the quality of food and ingredients. A sure shot recommendation if you are in Ingolstadt.

Super delicious food and the staff is also great!! You can have a lot of things adjusted like replacing the naan with rice and the spiciness as well! The atmosphere is super pleasant and you feel very comfortable!! I can only recommend it!!

The food was good, but overpriced for the portion size. The drinks are also totally overpriced.

Generally I do not leave a review often! What brings me here is an interesting thing! The food is no doubt a great but (little bit over priced!) that’s why I do orders very often from here! However, the lady owner of this restaurant is strange! She never gives my changes back in cents! And she thinks it’s completely alright! This happens each time I order and I never gets back my cents! It dose matter 10cents or 90cents!

I had dinner there with a friend. We both ate lamb vindaloo and it was delicious. The aroma was wonderfully spicy and the ginger came through well. For my taste it could have been spicier, but that doesn't hurt the rating.

We were there in the evening and were first asked to wait, even though there were free tables, only to be shown to one of the free tables shortly afterwards. Overall, the food was okay, but a little more expensive than in comparable restaurants. The mango lassi tasted a bit watery.

The food tasted very good and the service was nice. The ambience differed somewhat from other Indian restaurants as it was modern and not traditionally decorated. The toilets themselves were also very nicely decorated, but during our visit the door of one cubicle almost fell out when we were using it. Basically the food was a bit expensive, but we would still like to come back.

The slightly different Indian. The ambience is a little more stylish, the dishes are interpreted in a more modern way. There is a large selection of vegetarian dishes as well as Kingfisher beer. The waitresses were very attentive and friendly. We enjoyed it.

Nice and beautiful resturant.Food and snacks are really good.We had Palak paneer , onion kulcha, chole bhature and everything was delicious .Chole bhature is a must try . In snacks we had dry manchurian and palak papdi chat.Both snacks were also good where portion of dry Manchurian was bit small. Overall a good place to have Indian food .

I found it very tasty. My girlfriend too spicy but she is very sensitive. It's better to ask the waitress, it's not clear on the menu which dishes are spicy.

They wanted €10 extra for two loaves of bread. That's rude!

On the first visit after a recommendation and a short search on the internet and we can confirm everything. It was a very cozy atmosphere, very nice and great service, delicious food with a large selection of Indian specialties. And if even Indians eat there in large numbers and regularly, it must be good. Thank you and we'll be happy to come back.
