Very good Italian food...a bit pricey, but the quality is excellent...I had vegetarian spaghetti...a decent portion and very tasty...but the pizzas and meat dishes are also highly recommended...a long-established institution in Ladenburg

Delicious food, very friendly service. Update: Unfortunately, not so good anymore. The ambiance is okay, the table stickers are still smeared. There's spider webs on the lamps above our heads. No Wi-Fi, no reception, card payments not accepted (well, I don't know, the guest Wi-Fi was full of rash, but it was blocked). The women's restroom was dirty. We won't go there again.

We were sent out, even though there was a free table available. When I asked the waiter why he had sent my wife and child away, he said the place was full. I then pointed to the free table. He reacted very rudely and simply said we could sit there – but be patient. That was completely rude and unprofessional. They could have easily seated us at the table and offered us drinks or small snacks while we waited. We've made it clear: We'll never go there again.

On the last warm summer day, the whole of Ladenburg seemed to want to eat there. The wait staff immediately informed us that the wait time was an hour, which was fine with us. Other guests were then turned away because the kitchen was overloaded. Better that than chaos. The salad dressing is unfortunately far too sweet. The other dishes were fine.

Rip-off! I had guests traveling from Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, and I wanted to show them the beautiful city of Ladenburg. We spontaneously decided to eat at the Cave Pizzeria. We were blatantly ripped off by just over 20% of our bill when they miscalculated the change. On top of that, they charged us for a side dish we didn't order. They charged us €3 for an extra teaspoon of capers, €8.60 (!!) for a bottle of San Pellegrino, and €10.60 for 200 ml of house wine. Prices on the menu are before 19% VAT. Card payments are not accepted. Absolutely extortionate and simply an embarrassing and definitely unique experience. The food was mediocre, the restrooms were a disaster. Luckily, Ladenburg has so much more to offer than these crooks.

Very rude staff. We sat down for dessert, and it seemed like they didn’t like that we were foreigners. On top of that, we were charged 3,20€ for tap water and €9 for a single scoop of ice cream.

I just happened to eat there by chance, and I was thrilled. The pizza is excellent. I highly recommend it.

I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant. My visit yesterday was an experience that I found disrespectful, unprofessional, and downright condescending. When paying, I wanted to pay with my debit card because another customer had previously paid with a card without any problems. The waiter reacted loudly, aggressively, and obviously annoyed. He waved the menu, raised his voice, and made disrespectful gestures, including a "shut your mouth" sign with his finger while uttering a mocking "sh." This behavior is unacceptable. It shows complete disregard for guests, a lack of respect, and shocking unprofessionalism. I have rarely experienced such derogatory, unfriendly, and inappropriate behavior toward guests. Anyone who values ​​politeness, professionalism, and basic respect should avoid this restaurant.

We went there for dinner on vacation after a museum visit. I ordered a pasta dish with three different types of pasta, but instead got a spaghetti version. The waiter was surprised that there were peas in the sauce, but suggested that the chef might have changed the ingredients... Admittedly, the pasta was delicious. When the second waiter came to clear the table, I mentioned that I had received the wrong dish - his response was simply "but did you like it?" First of all, a long-serving waiter should be able to tell from a plate that there were only spaghetti instead of three types of pasta. Secondly, I expected at least a brief apology for the wrong dish, not such a casual remark. The first waiter came back to our table to pay - I also told him again that I had received the wrong pasta - no response. As mentioned above, the food was delicious. However, the long wait (almost 45 minutes) and the lackluster service at this upscale price point won't encourage us to return. Both waiters seemed bored and annoyed. We noticed this at two other tables as well.

Unfortunately, poor service in a beautiful setting. My wife and I had to wait a long time for a pizza and seafood pasta. When we asked if he'd forgotten our order, the waiter simply made a silly remark. Apparently, he was having a bad day, because he insulted a family with a child at the next table for no reason. Even when we paid without a receipt, a few euros were accidentally added to the bill. It's a shame, as we've been here several times and actually wanted to come back more often.

The ambiance is pleasant and the service friendly. We couldn't warm to the food itself. The Italian salad with homemade dressing was almost inedible, as it was extremely thick and obnoxiously sweet. The spaghetti alio and olio were very softly cooked; my husband couldn't find any garlic, but he did find fondor. That has no place there. The eggplant casserole tasted good, but the eggplant was still hard, meaning it wasn't cooked. It just doesn't taste good.

The most amazing restaurant in all of Ladenburg. Every visit is like a mini-Italian vacation—super delicious food, and they go above and beyond for their guests! Thank you for being who you are and for having so much fun in your job! ❤️

We've been there twice in the last few months for pizza. On our first visit, both pizzas were excellent (one regular and one gluten-free). It was really exactly our taste! On our second visit, the pizza chef and the waitress weren't having their best day. Never mind that, we'll definitely give it a third try. 😉

We don't understand some of the negative reviews. We were there at lunchtime and sat outside. The service was quick and friendly, special requests were easily accommodated, and our pasta portions were more than ample. It was delicious, too. We heard nothing but positive things from around us. 👍🏻 We'll definitely be back when we're in the area again.

Das Personal war sehr unhöflich und arogant! So was habe ich noch nie erlebt. Der Schef hat fast alle Gäste gefragt: "Haben sie keine Gedult? Gehen sie weiter, wenn sie keine Gedult haben!"🫣

Ordered the Emiliana pizza. Was quite good. Everyone in our group liked their order. Will agree with other comments on staff outlook towards non-German English speaking tourists. Better to have a German speaker with you to deal with the attitude given off. We were told clearly "NO ENGLISH" as they walked away. I hope they come visit the Bronx one day... lol

We paid almost €19 for a medium to-go pizza, which wasn't sliced. When we politely asked twice if they could slice it for us, as we were on the go and had no other option than to eat it with cutlery or slice it ourselves, we were cheekily told that "it's too busy right now to slice a pizza." 😂 The pizza tasted good, but unfortunately, the toppings were sparingly generous.

Abzocke! Ich hatte Gäste die aus Australien, Neuseeland und Japan eingereist sind und wollte ihnen das schöne Ladenburg zeigen. Wir wurden bei unserer Rechnung von etwa 100 Euro um knapp über 20 Euro ganz dreist über den Tisch gezogen indem man sich beim Rückgeld verrechnete. Hinzu kam dann noch die Berechnung einer Beilage, die wir nicht bestellt hatten, Berechnung von 3 Euro für einen Teelöffel extra-Kapern, 8.60 Euro für eine Flasche San Pellegrino und 10.60 Euro für 200 ml Hauswein. Absoluter Wucher und einfach nur peinliches und definitiv einmaliges Erlebnis. Das Essen war mittelmäßig, die Toiletten eine Katastrophe. Zum Glück hat Ladenburg so viel mehr zu bieten als diese Ganoven.

I visited here because I was told that I could eat delicious Italian pizza. When I went on a weekday night, it was empty and I was able to get in right away. I ordered cave pizza. The dough was crispy and the ham and arugula went well together and was delicious.

Service and food good in Ladenburg

3rd visit today, we have always been satisfied with the food and service. Even today everything was (almost) fine. We were a group of 14 guests, divided into 12 bills. Guests left at different times after paying their bills. I was there until the end. After everyone had paid - I think it was the owner - he realized that there was still an outstanding amount of around €11. The last 6 people in attendance had paid for all their own food and drinks. The gentleman from the restaurant wanted to make us responsible for paying the outstanding amount in a noticeably unfriendly tone. I said that it was not our job to pay for dishes that he forgot to put on the list for the guests who had already left. He reacted very strongly to this and said that he now has to pay the €11 out of his own pocket. He repeated this several times in a manner as if the remaining amount was at least three figures and it meant his financial ruin. “Typically German,” he snapped after us as we left the restaurant.

The worst pizza I've ever eaten. It was only half full with no sauce and really very bad.

I was in there for the first time. The pizza was very tasty and tasted almost like it did in Italy. The salad was also delicious. The prices are a bit high, but certainly normal for Ladenburg.

Delicious pasta, good pizzas and, in my opinion, the crunchiest salad with a brilliant mustard sauce. Highly recommended!

Very nice restaurant with very friendly owners. The Napoli pizza was tasty, but there was a little too much cheese on it for my taste, which obscured the remaining ingredients.

We were welcomed and served very friendly. The spaghetti napoli & fries were also okay, but you can't go wrong with that either. However, the 'homemade lasagna' was clearly frozen and was pretty disgusting. All in all, I will avoid this restaurant in the future.

The food was very tasty, especially the pizza is recommended. The portions are also very large, which means that the price-performance ratio is justified given the higher prices. Everything used to be better. The pizzas have shrunk extremely and are more like a child's size. The children didn't like the Margherita pizza. The bruschetta was very tasty. The rest was also good. However, the prices were very high. The atmosphere is more from the 90s and hasn't come any further. Too bad. We've always enjoyed coming here, but given the prices and smaller portions, not anymore.

One of the worst meals I've ever (not) had in a restaurant. My lasagne was essentially soggy pasta sheets with bechamel and a hint of tomato sauce, the meat, cheese and seasoning were clearly applied in homeopathic quantities. Tasted of less than nothing. My partner's pizza was a joke, more like some kind of crackerbread with toppings thrown on as an afterthought. I'd be shocked if it wasn't a pre made base. Service was unfriendly. The only things that can be said in defence of the place are that the location is nice and that the dogs were happy to get an extra meal.

Beautiful location. Outside was so full that I have to ate inside but definitely a place to eat outside and enjoy. İnside of the restaurant was a bit neglected. There were crumbs over the sofa and flies were all around the place and the air was stale. Waiter was kind and genial. Altough food were not. The taste was mid and made carelessly, in my opinion. However portion was big and fulfilling.

The pizza 🍕 is good, one of the best in town. Of course, the guys from the baking trough are always hanging around here, so it can't be that bad! The location is great, old town, half-timbered buildings - so be sure to take a seat outside. It's not so nice inside. And the service could be a bit friendlier. Not everyone wants to be called by their first names. Nevertheless, the Cave is a far better alternative to the Da Vinci. 🍕!

Trotz Reservierung war kein Tisch vorbereitet, der uns zugewiesene Tisch ohne Tischdecke war klebrig. Für die glutenfreie Pizza wurde entgegen dem Hinweis in der Karte, diese Variante sei ohne Mehrkosten, ein Aufschlag verlangt. Den Hinweis auf fällige Mehrkosten bekamen wir nicht bei der Bestellung sondern erst kurz vor dem Servieren.

After I just happened to read a recent, devastating review, I feel the need to write a review, which I probably do far too rarely :-) I'm very sorry that some people have had such bad experiences. Fortunately, I personally cannot confirm this. For me personally, Cave is the best Italian in Ladenburg. The food is great, really tasty, and the prices are absolutely ok. Nobody has ever been unkind to me. When we go out to eat, Cave is always high on the list. And that has been the case for many years. Even when I was still living outside. I've been there with many different friends, colleagues and relatives - and so far everyone has always enjoyed it very much. :-)

We remembered the place well. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to arrive spontaneously at the weekend because the operator is not on site at the weekend...very stupid and annoying for tired motorhome drivers when there are many spaces available. It is only possible with reservation. That was the second place we arrived with such behavior. My father would have said, "It's probably closed because of wealth!". Very unfriendly camping area here!!!

The visit was on June 1st, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. At the beginning everything seemed fine. A short time later we were asked if we would like something to drink. Before we could even explain that we were still waiting for the last two guests, the smaller, bald waiter, perhaps also the shop owner, turned his back on us and left immediately. Then it started. In total there were 5 of us at the table. The food and drinks were brought to us quickly. It tasted okay, nothing wrong with it. Pizza is large and well topped. Ravioli that was ordered once was a portion for your 2 month old dachshund if you had one.... 20 euros.... Towards the end I got up and wanted to pay. Then the same gentleman who served us at the beginning came. COMPLETELY confident, he chose table 24 and, without batting an eyelid, told me it would cost me 202.43 euros. I then said to him that I think it was a mistake since we only had one meal and one drink per person. He quickly realized that it had to be table 19 and clicked directly on the correct table, which would cost half as much, without making a mistake. Having found the right table after an “accident”, I paid by card and was already somewhat annoyed by the poor service. From unfriendly answers to simply turning away and running away from the staff, to... almost rip-off ;)... after paying, he said to me: Don't you actually want to give a tip? I'm sorry, what?!?!?! Do you have any idea why you tip?! Because everything INCL. THE SERVICE was right! Which was NOT the case for you! Nevertheless, I decided to tip the gentleman 3 euros because the food was acceptable and they have a lot of crooked pictures hanging around the shop. ;) Finally, the statement came with a sigh: "Yes, sorry, we have to live on something." Simply. Only. Antisocial. Think carefully about whether you are planning a larger meal here. If you're sitting at home and just want to have a full stomach with 2.5/5 star food. This “restaurant” is the last restaurant you choose at Lieferando when there is really nothing left to choose from. A little note for the shop owner: I deliberately took the copy of the invoice with me yesterday. There were 5 of us there on June 1st, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. If you think about disputing this review, I will do everything in my power to do so. They were so unbelievably rude that it can't really be described here!

Super delicious pizza, also gluten-free (pasta with advance order too). Plus delicious fake wines (Primitivo). 😎 Very nice service. Always very good.

Rip-off for day tourists. Mini pizza in children's portions for a high price, dirty toilets, extremely unfriendly owner and waiter. When I complained about the toilets, the owner said: that's just how it is and you don't have to come back. No apology or nice gesture of compensation, just zero service. So the restaurant is focused on day tourists who are disappointed and never come back.

Abzocke für Tagestouristen. Die Pizza hat Miniportion mit stolzem Preis. Keller war sehr unfreundlich und die Toiletten waren absolut Horror und schmutzig. Als ich mich über die Hygiene der Toiletten beschwert habe, bekam ich die Antwort vom Inhaber" es ist überall so und Sie müssen nicht wieder kommen". Also keinerlei Entgegenkommen oder Geste für Wiedergutmachung, sondern 0% Kundenservice. Tagestouristen werden hier gnadenlos abgezockt, aber kein Thema, aufgrund der superguter Lage kommen bestimmt nächste Touristen, die abgezockt werden und mit der Enttäuschung das Restaurant verlassen. Nie Wieder.

Delicious pizza and friendly service

My friend, niece and I stopped by this establishment for lunch. We were greeted by a very rude waiter that asked what we wanted there. He treated us horribly and turned his back on us. Needless to say, we walked out and found a very nice restaurant around the corner.

Unmöglich. Schlecht gelaunte Bedienung, die mich blöd anmachte, obwohl ich sehr höflich eine Frage stellte. Auf die Frage ob alles dem Essen alles OK war ,wir nicht begeistert reagierten,rührte der Kellner mit dem Löffel in der verbleibenden Soße rum und murmelte etwas von :na ja, es täte ihm leid. Darauf folgte gekonntes Ignorieren bein Anfragen der Rechnung und langes Warten darauf. Mittelmäßiges Essen, sehr laut,liebloses Ambiente und saumässiger Service. Never again.

Das Essen is gut aber beim Service ist noch sehr viel Luft nach oben. Sehr unfreundlich ist noch untertrieben. Man fühlt sich überhaupt nicht willkommen, u das bei den Preisen !!! Zum bezahlen muss man sich an die Kasse anstellen, u dann wird noch gemotzt, vor den anderen Gästen, wenn man kein Trinkgeld gibt. Da gehen wir definitiv nicht mehr hin.

Ich habe dort nur bestellt und das Essen mitgenommen. Das Essen hat aber genial geschmeckt und das Personal war überaus freundlich.

Sehr leckeres Essen und Trinken, leider gibt es Abzug bezüglich des Service, manchmal war niemand zu sehen zur späten Stunde & als wir die Rechnung verlangt hatten mussten wir reingehen, da auch niemand erschienen ist.

Pizza bestellt und wenige Minuten später nett freundlich Serviert bekommen.Super lecker bis zum nächsten Mal.

Wollte Italienisch habe italienisch bekommen. Beste Pizza bestes Melanzane , typisch Italienischer Service. Wird mein Stammitaliener. Flirts gibts kostenlos…. So muss das sein beim Italiener.

Pizza ist sehr lecker, aber das Personal ist teilweise echt unverschämt. Ich werde leider nicht mehr hingehen, obwohl die Pizza lecker war. Schade

Wir kommen schon seit Jahren immer wieder ins Cave und das gerne! Bei den Pizzen hat man immer mal wieder das Gefühl sie Schwanken zwischen klassisch rund und länglich eckig, das tut der Qualität des Essens aber keinen Abbruch. Manchmal, gerade für Geburtstag oder ähnliche Anlässe, wäre es schön man könnte draußen reservieren, da man hier im Sommer wirklich gut sitzen kann, aber leider gilt hier „First come, first serve“, bei unserem letzten Besuch im Juli hatten wir aber Glück und konnten einen Platz im Freien ergattern.

Wir möchten uns für den wunderbaren italienischen Salat und die leckere Pizza Quadro Stagioni herzlich bedanken !

Wir waren abends als Familie zum Abendessen und hatten uns alle für Pasta entschieden. Diese war geschmacklich in Ordnung - gut, aber nichts "besonderes". Die Preise sind eher im oberen Mittelfeld - dafür ist aber auch die Lage und das Ambiente sehr schön. Die Portion fand ich persönlich nicht sonderlich groß. Da es keine speziellen Kinderessen gab, fragten wir nach zwei Kinderportionen Spaghetti Bolognese. Ich war am Ende jedoch sehr erstaunt, dass für diese jeweils 10,80€ (Kinderteller Spaghetti Bolognese!) berechnet wurden. Ich kann mich daher einem Vorredner nur anschließen, dass Familien mit Kindern eher abgeschreckt werden sollen...

Leckeres Essen zu fairen Preisen

Wir waren durch Zufall in der Gegend und auf der Suche nach Restaurant fürs frühe Abendessen. Wir haben uns nach draußen gesetzt, es kam aber leider niemand, bis wir dann reingingen um unsere Anwesenheit anzukündigen. Die Bedienung war lustlos, das Carpaccio war noch halb gefroren, der Salat war mit der billigsten Ananas aus der Dose angemacht. Die Pasta war okay, aber für die aufgerufenen Preise eigentlich auch zu teuer.

Sehr gute Pizza, netter Service (typisch italienisch). Wir waren schon oft dort und kommen auch gerne immer wieder.

Portion könnte minimal größer sein, aber dafür richtig sind die Speisen schon.

Bei herrlichem Sonnenschein sind wir im Außenbeleuchtung des schmucken Lokals für ein Mittagessen eingekehrt. Zwar ungewöhnlich zu dieser Jahreszeit gab es frische Muscheln in Weißweinsoße, die ich sehr lecker mit frischem Weißbrot serviert bekam. Und meine Frau hatte das Pizzotti Norveggiese bestellt. Diese italienische Spezialität war sehr schmackhaft und frisch gemacht. Zwar wurden wir nicht überschwänglich freundlich bedient, aber der Service war korrekt und recht zügig. In dieses Restaurant kommen wir gerne wieder.
