Casablanca in Halberstadt

On October 4th, we went to the Zuckerfabrik with a large group for Bohlen and then ate at Casablanca. To avoid a long wait later, we ordered our food while Bohlen was being served. At Casablanca, we quickly received our drinks and food as we had ordered, and there were no complaints about a missing dish. Everything went well, as the restaurant was very busy. Our young children were so tired and fussy that their parents left early and paid their bills for what they had consumed. By the time the rest of the group had paid their bills, not without first checking that everything was correct, almost everyone had left, and the waitress came up to us and said there was still one dish left—it can happen sometimes—and we took it. It turns out, however, that we had booked an extra dish, but only one of the dishes arrived at the table, which was correct for us. The restaurant isn't willing to listen to any arguments about this, so I'm sorry I'm now stuck with these costs. This isn't how you treat guests these days. But the reviews speak for themselves.

Prompted by a movie advertisement before the film, we wanted to go to Casablanca after the movie. According to the sign on the door, opening hours on this Saturday were until 11:00 PM. We weren't served at 10:03 PM. After entering the restaurant, the waiter sent us away. When we asked for drinks, we were told the bar was already closed. It's a shame they operate like this here.

Conditionally recommended. The food is average, except for the price. A regular bottle of beer costs more than €12 a liter (average in Germany is €9-11). Even in Munich, I can get my beer for less. The service is nice, but not very competent. The place was right across the street from our hotel, so it was a good choice. That says it all.

We had to return food because it was cold, no apology, schnitzel was frozen .. not recommended

There are so many great restaurants in Halberstadt, and then there's this one. We are more than disappointed.

If you want to eat well, go somewhere else.

We were there yesterday because we wanted to go to the cinema after the show. We entered a chaotic dining room. Some tables hadn't been cleared yet, even though there were no other customers. We were greeted with "Please be patient." After 20 minutes, our drink orders hadn't even been taken. We left the restaurant. The service there has been a problem for many years, and unfortunately, there hasn't been any improvement. We definitely won't be back.

After a pleasant visit to the cinema, we were unfortunately disappointed at the Casblaca next door. We walked into the restaurant at 8 p.m. and were immediately told: "We're only serving outside today... and: we'd have to decide what we wanted to eat in the next 15 minutes, as hot meals can't be ordered after 8:15 p.m." This is, of course, an important notice - but the "how" you communicate such a notice is the deciding factor. Besides pizza, burgers, and pasta, schnitzel variations are the main offering. Two of the four of us also wanted a schnitzel dish. "Unfortunately, no - I forgot to say," came the waitress's reply: "We've been out of schnitzels since yesterday (because so many people have wanted schnitzels over the past few days) and they won't be back until tomorrow." Aha! So if this dish is so popular, can't the kitchen react quickly and restock? A second waitress then pointed out to us again, rather bluntly, the restaurant's stock policy, and besides, it's the chefs who decide everything. So, all in all, unfortunately, we didn't feel comfortable. Regarding the food we ordered, it was okay, but not worth a further visit for us.

The staff was very unfriendly, and there were very long waits (20 minutes for drinks and another 20 for food for three people), even though the restaurant was relatively empty. The food was okay, nothing special, and unfortunately a bit cold. The breading on the schnitzel wasn't particularly crispy, and the pizza tasted the same as a frozen one.

We've had better, but also worse, and you can always add more seasoning. However, the price/performance ratio is good.

Restaurant ist leer und alle werden an die kleinsten Tische gesetzt, weil es angeblich voll wird. Restaurant ist und bleibt leer. Essen ist ok, Preise stehen in keinem Verhätnis zur Leistung. Mehr als schlecht! Das Personal ist bedingt freundlich. Im Gartennist scheinbar niemand erwünscht. Ketten davor.

I can't agree with the negative reviews. We ate there on Thursday before the cinema. Great service, friendly staff, and the food was really delicious. We sat on the terrace. We'd love to come back. Best regards, J+J

Wenn man AfD - konform ist, wird man bedient! Diese Location betreten wir nie wieder. Vor vielen Jahren war es schön dort, aber die Luft ist dort wohl komplett raus. Das Essen war kalt und lieblos und nachdem wir nach unserer politischen Meinung gefragt wurden, bekamen wir nix mehr zu trinken. Ein absolutes No Go !!!

We went there for a cocktail on Friday. The atmosphere itself is really nice there. Staff friendly, there's no other way to say it. We were there on Saturday after the DTM and wanted to eat something. Apart from the fact that it took forever until we got our food, I was ultimately disappointed. I had asparagus with fresh potatoes, at least that's what it said on the menu. To me the potatoes were by no means fresh and had been peeled and cooked myself. They had some frozen food or potatoes from a jar. The consistency of the potatoes was subpar. So the potatoes went completely back except for 2 that were tried by me and my husband. That doesn't work at all in my opinion. For whatever reason I can't post the picture of the grape-sized potatoes 🤷‍♀️

It tastes really delicious, it is very cozy and very friendly staff.

Great restaurant in the immediate vicinity of the Hotel Ambiente. The service is always friendly and courteous. The food was very good, we were there on 4 evenings and tried something different each time. All very tasty. It's nice to sit inside or outside

Temperature in the restaurant a little too low, long waiting times for food and drinks. The burger I ordered was cold, my sister's tarte flambée was cold, and the salad smelled musty. Hot chocolate was served in a spilled glass cup with a spilled saucer. Staff seems stressed and unprofessional. We won't be coming back.

The dining room was very cool. The food came after about 1 1/2 hours and then the burger was cold. Lackluster service or no service. Very disappointing.

Terrible service, although the restaurant is open until 9pm, the kitchen closes at 7:30pm.

After my last visit, I decided not to eat there again. The dining room is always slightly cool... the food is getting worse and worse (disappointed several times) and I ordered a glass of white wine, which unfortunately I didn't like. Somehow fermented, or old. I told the waitress that there was something wrong with it and whether she had another one. No, she said...she only has that. Then it was done for them. Unfortunately I couldn't drink it, but I had to pay for it. That's not possible...I come from the catering industry myself and if a guest had complained about that, I would have offered them an alternative without batting an eyelid and thrown away the old wine. Done.....Sorry, but the location only gets one star for the ambience

The tarte flambée was perfectly fine. The burgers were very good. The French fries were something special for me. The service was typical of the local charm and even better. We had no reason to complain. Quite the opposite.

Unfortunately, a lower rating is impossible because we were denied entry. They thought they'd close the place at 7:50 p.m. because there weren't enough guests. It's not as if the four of us would have been happy paying for food and drinks. Disappointing.

The pizza was raw, still cold inside. Pizzas were not cut. Staff totally unfriendly.

Today I spontaneously ate just spicy meat there. But that was the best thing in the last 25 years. I'm a hobby cook myself but it surpassed everything. No matter who made it, hats off to me.

Ate well, the food was a little bland and not so well seasoned, unfortunately I had no way to spice up the food because I couldn't order any sauce, because there is no sauce with any food. Price performance is appropriate.

We had a nice party on Saturday evening. The food was also very good.

Without meaning any offense, the food was absolutely not good. The fries were too salty, the burgers were dry and the burger patties were burnt and you could taste that they were frozen. The rum steak had a thick edge of fat and became more and more in the mouth so I seriously wouldn't go here again. It's not worth the money but the service was ok

We've been eating at Casablanca again for a long time and are thrilled, the new chef gives the dishes that certain something, very tasty and the service was super friendly. We're coming back regularly now.

Very service minded staff, fast and good. Club sandwich was great, lots of food, well made, unfortunately the beer wasn't quite cold, but it worked out. . . Very cozy room. Recommended

Update on January 5th, 2023 There was a lot of activity. The welcome was friendly as we are used to. After ordering, the drinks came and a little later the food. Food was good and tasty 😋.. See you soon.

Waited over 1 hour for the food.

I'm really sorry about the 2 stars, the service was great and very, very friendly, but we waited over an hour for 3 pizzas to take away... (but the service had made us aware that it might take a while to eat) to be honest But that's too long even for me. Maybe you should give the one-armed chef a helper (wink)

Hatten uns so auf das Essen am Abend nach langer Anreise gefreut, denn wir waren vor einiger Zeit schon einmal dort und alles war super. Dieser Abend war für uns leider eine Enttäuschung, das Jägerschnitzel sah völlig lieblos aus und war nix fürs Auge, die Form des Schnitzels kennt man aus dem TV...die Kroketten schmeckten etwas ranzig. d im Der Burger hörte sich lecker an, leider kalt. Ich hab ihn nur gegessen, weil ich endlosen Hunger hatte und auf Nachfrage der jungen Kellnerin, sie würde der Küche bescheid geben, hab ich ihn einfach kalt gegessen. Ich hatte Hunger ! Das Personal ist insgesamt sehr freundlich und die Location eigentlich sehr schön. Schade, daß wir nicht draußen sitzen konnten, denn mit unserem Hund wollten wir niemanden belästigen. Uns wurde gesagt, es wären nur zwei Kellnerinnen an dem Abend da und das wäre zu viel Aufwand...wir haben durchgezählt: wir waren 11 Gäste an dem Abend! Schade, schöner Laden aber die Küche ist nicht mehr, was sie war. Vor dem Eingang gibt's einen Raucher - Point, mit dem Hinweis, daß dieser "kein Aschenbecher ist"...diesen haben wir leider auch nicht gefunden - das haben nicht nur wir nicht verstanden !

Das Essen war ok, aber permanent wurde man von ständig wechselnden Angestellten gefragt ob alles ok wäre, das hat sehr genervt. Zudem wurde eilig abgeräumt, obwohl noch zwei Personen am Essen waren. Da das Restaurant fast leer war erschien es uns als ob schon die nächsten auf einen Tisch warteten.... Uns wird man dort nicht wiedersehen.

Food wasn't appetizing! The pizza was burnt and the dough was sour. The tomatoes tasted like flour and there were more herbs than cheese on the pizza.

A birthday brunch was planned and seats were reserved. When we arrived we found the door closed. It wasn't cancelled. The contact details were apparently not stored correctly. We always enjoyed going out to eat, but that was the last time.

All in all we were very satisfied. It smelled a lot like fries but that faded out and it was very good. But we were there very late. Service was pleasantly humane. Thumbs up.

We came by spontaneously on a Friday and had called beforehand to see if there was still a place available for us. It worked great and we were very happy. The ambience is rustic in the vault style and invites you to linger. A little cleanliness would be welcome here and there. The service was super friendly from start to finish and that's why there are 5 stars for the service separately. Unfortunately, the food was a little too cold for both dishes we ordered. The pulled pork chicken burger tasted sour. Unfortunately, as the chef later confirmed, this wasn't due to the pickle ;). An unknown smell was detected on the meat. With pulled pork you somehow expect meat that has previously been cooked in a barbecue sauce for ages. The meat was tender as expected, but it was marinated in a red sauce and apparently it wasn't that good anymore. We were treated very kindly and had half the price deducted from the dish because we ate the fries that came with it, which were very good. There was also dessert on the house. Regardless of the taste, the food also looked very good. Since a good mix of service and cuisine influences the rating in a restaurant, but people still visit a restaurant mainly because of the good food, I give the food more weight in the rating. Therefore 3 out of 5 stars.

We went there spontaneously for dinner. The staff was very nice and attentive, the food was extremely tasty and the portions were completely sufficient (we couldn't manage them) and the prices were unbeatable. We felt very comfortable.

Waren zum brunchen. Frühstück war lecker Mittag hingegen eine Vollkatastrophe. Suppe war sauer, die Warmgerichte kalt und knochentrocken. Der Koch sollte lieber maggitüten nehmen da hätte es besser geschmeckt. Die Küche sollte sich mal vom Service ne Scheibe abschneiden und mal wieder Lust am kochen finden

seit letztem Besuch bin ich sehr enttäuscht. Habe Pizza bestellt, sie war nicht durch gebacken. Teig war teilweise noch Roh. Habe die Kellnerin darauf hingewiesen, sie hat ihrerseits es dem Chefkoch gebracht und gebeten nachzubacken. Er hat gesagt, alles in Ordnung und er wird nichts tun, um es nachzubessern. Tolle Reaktion vom Koch! Gut, Geschmäcker sind verschieden, aber beim rohen Teig gibt es keine Interpretationsmöglichkeiten!

Wir waren am 28.10.23 abens mit 13 Leuten im Casablanca, gutes Ambiente, freundliche Bedienung und sowas von leckerem Essen, einmalig. Danke an das ganze Team. Rundum empfehlenswert.

Wir waren dort essen und mussten schnell los. Das Essen kam auch wirklich schnell woran man leider gemerkt hat (geschmacklich) das es TK Ware war. Ziemlich enttäuschend. Der Service war dafür ziemlich gut überdurchschnittlich. Die jung gehaltene Dame die uns bediente hat ihren Job super gemacht und man hat gemerkt das sie im Stress war, war aber trotzdem super freundlich.

Nach einem klar verständlichen und deutlichen Gespräch ohne etwas wiederholen zu müssen, konnte ich am Telefon etwas bestellen, Barfuß abholen und alles war wie erwartet lecker und ausreichend. Der eigendlich mit Käsesoße übergossene Burger wurde mit reichlich Käsesoße separat verpackt, mitdenken können sie auch. 5 Sterne plus, meiner Erfahrung nach ist das überdurchschnittlicher Service für Halberstädter Verhältnisse.

Der Service in diesem Restaurant war wirklich freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Personal war stets bemüht, uns einen angenehmen Aufenthalt zu bieten und unsere Wünsche zu erfüllen. Leider waren wir sehr enttäuscht von der Qualität des Essens. Der Großteil unserer Gerichte waren nicht schmackhaft. Wir hatten auch das Pech, dass einige Zutaten in einigen Speisen verdorben waren, was zu einer unangenehmen Erfahrung führte. Es ist schade, denn das Ambiente des Restaurants war wirklich schön und einladend. Wir hatten uns auf einen schönen Abend mit gutem Essen gefreut, wurden jedoch in dieser Hinsicht enttäuscht. Wir hoffen, dass das Restaurant sein kulinarisches Angebot verbessern kann, um den positiven Eindruck des freundlichen Services zu ergänzen.

Leider waren wir sehr enttäuscht vom Hauptgericht. Wir hatten ein Rumpsteak Medium bestellt.das war mehr als tot. Das war leider so schlecht das es nicht mal aufgegessen werden konnte. Der Kellnerin war das sehr unangenehm und sie hat uns darauf Rabatt gegeben. Das schnitzel Our four hatte leider wenig Geschmack und auch die Kroketten waren kalt. Wir mussten mehr als eine Stunde nach der Vorspeise auf das Essen warten. Die Vorspeise hingegen war sehr lecker. Bruschetta ist sehr zu empfehlen. Allen im allen würden wir es nicht weiter empfehlen. Die Kellnerin war trotzdem sehr nett .

Eine gute Mischung zwischen Ambiente, sowohl innen als auch außen, und den Qualitäten der Speisen sowie des Service.

Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis passt leider nicht. Für ein 90 gr. Hähnchenmedallion( viel zu trocken) und 6 Kroketten mit ein wenig Soße 17 Euro zu verlangen ist nicht gerechtfertigt. Dasselbe mit der Grillpfanne oder den Schnitzelvarianten. Kaum gewürzt und alles sehr trocken. Einziger Lichtblick ist die sehr freundliche Bedingung von der älteren Bedingung gewesen! Ihr Junge Kollegin hingegen war äußerst unfreundlich. Nicht zu empfehlen:(

Die Wartezeit auf das Personal betrugen ganze 30 Minuten aber die Krönung war, das Essen wurde weitere 1:30h erst an unseren Tisch gebracht. Geschmeckt hat es leider auch nicht. Die Rechnung kam auch erst 30Minuten später… NIEEEEE wieder!!! Absolute LEBENSZEITVERSCHWENDUNG!

Wir waren nach einem schönen Kinobesuch mit unserer 10 jährigen Tochter im Casablanca. Nach dem wir dort 10 Minuten mit anderen Gästen saßen und nirgends eine Bedienung zu sehen war, machte ich mich erstmal auf die Suche, bis ich die 2 Mitarbeiter draußen seelenruhig rauchen sah. Daraufhin bat ich sie uns zu bedienen. Es lief leider sehr unfreundlich ab. Das Essen kam, die Pizza war eine Katastrophe. Als wir es ansprachen war man uns sehr unfreundlich gegenüber und man wurde gekonnt ignoriert. Wir waren nicht gewillt die Pizza unserer Tochter zu bezahlen da sie nicht durch war und nach Hefe schmeckte. Ich wollte mit dem Geschäftsführer sprechen, was mir vorerst verwehrt wurde. Ich wollte zudem den Namen von der Mitarbeiterin wissen was sie mir ebenfalls verwehrte. Der Chef war nach nochmaliger Aufforderung doch zu erreichen und war ebenfalls sehr unfreundlich. Letztendlich kam die Polizei. Die diese Erfahrung ebenfalls gemacht haben und dort auch nicht mehr hingehen.

Sehr freundlich, sehr lecker und einfach ein sehr angenehmes Ambiente

Das Würzfleisch war nicht wirklich mein Fall, die 2 Baguettes mit Zaziki sind sehr lecker gewesen und zu empfehlen. Das Ambiente ist rustikal und sehr schön. Wir saßen in einer gemütlichen Ecke am Fenster. Die Bedienung war freundlich, aber ließ immer seeehr lange auf sich warten, obwohl sie mehrmals an unserem Tisch vorbei kam. Alles in einem war der Besuch in Ordnung für ein spontanes Abendessen.

Leider haben sie es nicht geschafft meine Reservierung für mein Geburtstag ordentlich zu organisieren so stand ich ohne einen Tisch mit hungrigen Freunden da. Habe dann zwar einen Tisch bekommen an dem nicht mal alle Platz hatten und wir getrennt sitzen mussten, aber die Bedienung war sehr unfreundlich.

Schade um dieses schöne Objekt. Das Ambiente ist gut. Leider ist der Service nicht dementsprechend. Als Gast fühlt man sich hier nicht , eher als zahlender Kunde und so wird man auch behandelt. Dafür ist das Essen sehr gut.

Eigentlich ein schönes Objekt und Konzept. Es wird aber zu wenig investiert. Das sieht man nach Jahrzehnten. Teilweise mindestens zum Gruseln. Aber hey, es ist Halberstadt.

Das Casablanca muss man einfach Mal besucht haben. Tolle Gastwirtschaft für Jung u Alt. Ideal auch für Familienfeier,. Vorbeischauen und Staunen.

Das Essen ist super. Darauf warten muss man auch nicht lange. Der Service ist auch sehr gut. Weiter zu empfehlen.

Meine Bewertung stützt sich auf frühere Erfahrungen und ich war schon seit einiger Zeit nicht mehr dort. Früher war es immer ein guter Ort für ein spontanes Essen/ Treffen. Die Speisen sind Getränke waren gut und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passte immer.

Sind zum 2 x Rippen essen gewesen, jetzt in Buffet Form. Wir fanden es nicht ganz so toll da es nicht heiß genug war. Beim ersten mal wurde frisch serviert ,eindeutig besser. Das Personal war aber sehr nett.

Schöne lokation zum verweilen. Ob der Gruppe oder nur Zweierlei

Leckeres Essen. Sehr laut wenn es voll ist, aber damit muss man rechnen wenn man in ein Restaurant/Bar geht die neben ein Kino ist.

Gutes Essen in uriger Atmosphäre.

Rustikales Ambiente. Vollkommen in Ordnung,es war aber sehr kalt im Restaurant weshalb keine Wohlfühl -atmosphäre aufkam. Waren zum Rippchen da, geschmacklich gut nur etwas trocken.

Wir wollten um 17:30 Uhr mit 2 Personen vor dem Kinobesuch essen gehen. Allerdings wurden wir darauf hingewiesen, dass es nur für reservierte Gäste oder Hotelgäste möglich ist, zu essen. Auch auf den Hinweis meinerseits, dass wir spätestens nach 45 min. weg sind, haben wir keinen Tisch bekommen…und das ganze Lokal war leer !!! Schade, somit habt ihr uns als Gäste verloren. Wir sind bisher immer gern vor dem Kino bei euch eingekehrt. Nun werden wir ein anderes Restaurant wählen.

Sehr schönes Ambiente. Die Flammkuchen sind erstklassig, ebenso die Schnitzel und diverse andere Kleinigkeiten. Die Bedienungen sind sehr zuvorkommend. Man hat dort einen sehr schönen Abend.

Wir waren zu zweit dort. Mussten im kaum besuchten Restaurant an einen Zweiertisch wechseln. Meine Pizza hat nach nichts geschmeckt, viel zu dicker Boden, viel zu viel Tomatenmark und Broccoli ohne Geschmack, Champignons kaum vorhanden und das Ganze mit ner dicken Käseschicht abgedeckt. Das Lokal selbst wirkt gemütlich.

Waren vor dem Kinobesuch essen,leider war der Flammkuchen trocken,nicht mehr warm und kaum belegt. Waren von dem Besuch des Restaurants enttäuscht 😞.

Also wir verstehen hier einige schlechte Bewertungen nicht. Die Cocktails sind lecker und nicht überteuert, das Personal freundlich (etwas mehr Aufmeksamkeit hin und wieder wäre aber gut) und auch das Essen war sehr lecker und wirklich große Portionen. Preis Leistung super. Wir würden bei unserem nächsten Aufenthalt in HBS auf jeden Fall wieder einkehren.

Mein Mann und ich wollten heute mit unserem Sohn der im Rollstuhl sitzt zu Mittag essen,auf Nachfrage ob wir einen Tisch bekommen Koennen,wurden wir unfreundlich gebeten da hinten uns einen Tisch zu suchen,nachdem ich der Kellnerin gesagt hatte,das dort überall reserviert steht,meinte sie unfreundlich,dann sieht es wohl so aus,als ob alles voll waere und ließ mich da stehen.So was ist uns noch nie in einer Gaststätte passiert,vor allen Dingen die Unfreundlichkeit.Wir werden das Casablanca nicht weiter empfehlen,es bekommt von uns ein ungenügend.

Die Speisekarte ist umfangreich. Man kann zwischen Burger, Pasta, Pizza, Flammkuchen, Schnitzel etc. wählen. Jeden Mittwoch kann man Spare Ries all you can eat bestellen. Besonders zu empfehlen ist das Club Sandwich.
