sehr schönes Wirtshaus. Sehr gut mit Auto oder öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zu erreichen. 8 Biere vom Zapfhahn. Besonders auch ein Craftbier am Zapfhahn Nr 8. sehr guter Wein und das Essen ist prima. TOP Service! Geht immer alles Ruck Zuck.

Wir waren wir immer sehr zufrieden. Die ServiceMitarbeiter waren alle super freundlich und flott. Das Essen war mega lecker. Das Ambiente außergewöhnlich. Wir fühlten uns äußerst wohl und werden bald wieder dort einkehren 😊

Wir waren schon öfters dort, aber am Samstag war laut meiner Begleitpersonen das Essen nicht ganz so gut wie bei den anderen Besuchen. Dafür war der Service sehr freundlich und sehr gut!

Der Service ist unschlagbar, hier spürt man beim gesamten Team die Freude am Job. Gepaart mit gutem Essen und angenehmer Atmosphäre ist das immer ein Besuch wert. Immer wieder gerne.

Wir hatten einen tollen Tisch, der dann aber ab 19 Uhr weiterreserviert war. (wurde uns vorher aber gesagt) Wir wurden dann um 19 Uhr einfach auf die lange Bank/Sofa gesetzt, das war super. Herzlichen lieben Dank für den tollen, freudlichen und netten Service. Achja, das Essen war wie immer auch tollen. Wir kommen gerne immer wieder. LG Barbara

Sehr netter Empfang und ausgesprochen freundliche Mitarbeiter! Leider fanden wir das Preis-Leistung Verhältnis nicht angemessen. Das Schnitzel war aus der Friteuse und hatte gefühlt an jedem Tisch dieselbe Form. Der Burger war auch eher ein Fleischküchle mit liebloser Belegung, der Burrito war lediglich ein Fleischgefüllter Fladen…richtig schade! Der Nachtisch war am besten, Schokoküchlein. Service super, Essen sehr durchschnittlich und zu teuer.

The food was okay, but I had to leave my beer untouched. The service seemed to consist of untrained staff or temporary workers. Even the simplest things, like placing a glass on the provided beer mat, weren't done.

We had duck breast and boiled beef. Both dishes were excellent, and my plate was beautifully presented. You can tell that someone who knows their craft is at work. The service was fine.

We showed up on a packed Tuesday evening no reservation and a wonderful young lady. Told us it be about 40 minutes, but if the four of us wanted to sit at the bar, she had room for us there. This turned out to be a joy. Watching the bartenders hustle, having been one myself, was a pleasure. Our meals came out quickly and hot couldn’t ask for anything more. The schnitzel was very good. We will be back in June and we will definitely be back.

The location is really lovely, the food was delicious, and we enjoyed the drinks as well. What bothered us, however, was the service. Initially, the server was friendly, but unfortunately, she became somewhat pushy over time. We were constantly asked if we wanted anything else to drink or eat, even though we had politely declined several times. There were also a few inappropriate remarks – for example, that she was "allergic to empty glasses" – which unfortunately came across as rather unpleasant, so we ended up ordering something anyway. It's a shame, because otherwise, the evening was really lovely. With a little more restraint from the server, it would have been a thoroughly positive experience.

Einfache Buchung über OpenTable. Sogar eine Reduzierung der Personenzahl war problemlos möglich. Im Carls wars wie immer toll. Prima Service, gute Atmosphäre, leckeres Bier, tolle Gerichte, aufmerksame Bedienung. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

The ambiance is great, and the service is very fast. Unfortunately, none of us understood the burger. The bread/bun was inedible, requiring a steak knife to cut through it. It was a tasteless piece of rubber. I don't understand it; it's a real shame.

Leckeres Essen, professioneller und freundlicher Service, gemütliche und moderne Atmosphäre. Gerichte von der wechselnden Abendkarte sehr gut und reichlich. Bei Gerichten von der regulären Karte müssen aber zum Teil die Beilagen extra bestellt werden. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ok. Große Auswahl an Craftbieren, zum Teil sogar vom Faß.

Essentially, 5 stars is one too few. The staff is very, very nice and friendly. Unfortunately, this has become a rarity. Price and performance are very good for me and my family's taste. The powder-free sauce, which you normally only get at home, deserves a special mention. You go here hungry, and you go home full and satisfied, looking forward to the next time. We live about 68 km away, but whenever we're in Karlsruhe or the surrounding area, Carl's Wirtshaus is our first stop. The food is very good here. The outdoor seating is just as spacious as the indoor seating.

One of the few restaurants in Karlsruhe that's open every day. The service is very friendly and prompt, and even our dog was immediately greeted and cared for. There's a large selection of beers. Unfortunately, there are few to no beers from local breweries on the menu, which would be desirable for an inn with strong local ties. The food is very tasty, with a good selection of vegetarian dishes. The sausage salad was exceptionally well-seasoned.

Ich hatte eine Bowl Margarete. Der Quinoa Salat war gut. Der Rest an Rohkost nichts besonderes. Für einen Preis von knapp 20€ hätte ich was besseres erwartet. Preis-Leustung passt leider gar nicht. Auch nicht für die anderen Gerichte. Getränke sind in Ordnung

Very nice guesthouse with excellent staff and good food

We always come here to eat before concerts at Substage. It has a good selection and good quality. The service is attentive, and in the summer, it's nice to sit outside. There's free parking everywhere on the slaughterhouse grounds.

If something says "Wirtshaus" (inn) or employs Monikas, you can't go wrong. This is also the case here, where they live up to their position in Karlsruhe's cultural district by offering a whopping eight beers on tap. THAT is true culture, dear CDU voters. Of course, they also raise the prices accordingly, and so, despite the "Wirtshaus" factor, you'll find a rather upscale clientele here, who, in the lovely High German, find the "fries" "tasty" (*shudder*). If you can stand that, you can fill your palate with well-deserved food here—you'll even get your fill. Hurray.

Nice atmosphere and good service. The food was disappointing; the schnitzel was dry and, in my opinion, deep-fried. The Maultaschen weren't very tasty either.

Delicious baby potatoes with rosemary. The potato and leek soup was well-seasoned. The lemonade was delicious! The mixed gemüse were wonderfully crunchy.

This place is an amazing hidden gem. Tucked away off any main street, but it is not to be overlooked. The staff are so friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely fantastic. The craft beer menu is awesome. As a Canadian boy now living in Germany, we have such a craft beer culture. It was fantastic to find a place that carries an assortment of specialty beer. The outdoor seating is large, covered and invitingly decorated, especially in the evening with the lights. Will definitely go back the next time we pass through Karlsruhe.

I've been there twice now with a large group. The service was very good. Very friendly waitresses, and the food was delicious. I had the bacon-wrapped sirloin with rosemary potatoes and wild mushroom sauce. Simply amazing 😍 For starters, I had a side salad with a delicious oil and vinegar dressing. Others in the group had the feta cheese and olives as starters and were also very satisfied 😇 The atmosphere is cozy and makes you feel at home. The location is great, as the tram stop is only a 1-minute walk away.

Wir waren zu siebt und hatten eine nen tollen Abend. Für mich als Weizenallergiker ist es einfach super, dass hier vieles Dinkelmehl gibt und sauber gekocht wird ohne Zusatzstoffe. Auch außer Haus haben wir schon oft Speisen abgeholt und sind im sehr überrascht, dass auch hier die Qualität super ist und es super schmeckt.

A really nice restaurant, but I was unfortunately very unsatisfied with my meal. There weren't many customers there, so I don't really understand: my burger was raw on the inside instead of medium, and the fries weren't cooked through properly either. It's a shame. They put it back in the pan and fried it again, thank you for that, but after that, the flavor was simply lost. I can't recommend the burger.
