Once upon a time the best schwarma in Dortmund was here but now it seems to be the worst!!

The Caracalla plate for two was enough for three of us; all the meats were beautifully tender, deliciously seasoned, and prepared with a wonderful grilled flavor. All the side dishes were also of good quality and delicious. The three of us have ordered the Caracalla plate several times over the past two years and picked it up ourselves. The food was still steaming hot each time we got home, the fries weren't soggy, and overall, everything was consistently of consistent quality over time.

I've been coming here regularly for years; the food is fantastic, a real treat. I always enjoy coming back. I've been to many restaurants, but Caracalla surpasses them all, both in service and quality.

Lovely ambiance and a large selection of delicious dishes and drinks. The appetizers and desserts were amazing. Very quick preparation. Clean restrooms, reasonable prices, and card payments accepted. I'd love to go back 👍, even if you'd never think to stop there when driving past in the area.

During Ramadan, I went to Iftar as a Muslim and regretted it. I'm sure they treat Germans better. I think the shop owner has some mental health issues. Of course, I'll never go back, and I can't recommend it to anyone. I already gave it one star during Ramadan, so that's nothing new! I just wrote the review today. It's by no means a lie—you treat people as you see fit. You write, 'we're Muslims too,' but your heart obviously beats differently. We've experienced it both during Ramadan and at other times... The bearded man there—the owner—is a stressed and aggressive person. Finally, stop arguing with people under every critical review. Be open to the truth and improve yourselves. The employees are really friendly, but the bearded owner is thoroughly stressed and disrespectful. "Your morals are absolute garbage"👍

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. The staff are lying! We placed an order, and it took an hour to arrive. We kept asking the staff, and they said the order would be ready in 5 minutes. At the end, after we'd waited an hour, the staff said they couldn't process the order. Go to another restaurant instead, because the staff are very rude. They didn't even apologize or anything.

Is it possible that the food is not made fresh on some days? I've eaten at your place three times in 2 weeks and somehow the plates are never warm. If I spend money in a restaurant, I want my plate to arrive at least warm. That wasn't wrong three times. The fries are stingy. Too bad. But service is top.

I've gotten around really well when it comes to Arabic cuisine and can say with full conviction that everything on Kabel 1, my local, your local, is fake! Nothing was fresh, old salad, meat was dry, extra requests were forgotten and less than 20 minutes after we left the restaurant everyone had stomach problems! I hope the health department will take a look at this quickly. Report is out!!!

Regular since it opened :) I've certainly tried most of the menu over the years and have never been disappointed in terms of taste. Hummus, tabbouleh and falafel are particularly tasty and fresh. Meat dishes were also very tasty and well seasoned. Very nice and courteous staff. Whether alone or in a large group, even without a reservation (except during Lent), seats are quickly created and the boss always tries to ensure a pleasant stay. Thank you very much and keep it up!

We went there spontaneously and got a table straight away even though it was already very full. Such great, delicious food and great service. Simply recommended. For me one of the best restaurants in Dortmund.

Really good food here. Authentic and fresh. The guys working were really nice and help me out after a long journey. They are kind of the only place in the neighborhood to get a late night vegetarian meal so I am extra grateful.

Delicious dishes with the accompanying spices and herbs of the Eastern Mediterranean. You always want more of it, but you can only try the portions little by little. Island of cleanliness in the often dirty northern city.

The chicken shawarma is very bad. This is the first time I eat a shawarma sandwich that is so bad and the tabbouleh is very rough. I won't eat grape leaves.

Do not use the falafel hat to keep your mouth watering, but also use it to do so. Falafel has nothing to do with falafel. Rice and kofta have nothing to do with grilled meat. Honestly, it shocked me and my stomach hurts since yesterday.

Insider tip! Great food and very friendly staff. Unfortunately the restaurant is in the middle of Münsterstrasse. That means little parking and a special clientele. If you can look past that, you can get great authentic food here.

It tastes very good. It's very familiar and the people are super friendly. The quality is noticeable when you have tried other Arabic shops. Sometimes I miss the sharpness and the Arabic touch, but that doesn't necessarily have to be the case.

In diesem libanesischen Familienrestaurant ist alles super lecker. Das Tabule ist frisch mit genau der richtigen Menge an Olivenöl und Zitrone. Das Fleisch vom Holzgrill ist top, und der Hummus ist so cremig, wie man es sich nur wünschen kann. Auch der Fattoush Salat ist einfach klasse. Einziger kleiner Nachteil: Das Parken ist ein bisschen schwierig. Aber das Essen ist es auf jeden Fall wert!.

We ate at the Lebanese family restaurant and it was great! The grill is great and the tabule, the salad, was the best ever. Fresh with olive oil and lemon, simply delicious. The meat was also of very good quality. Everything is fresh and truly a family business. The only drawback: the parking spaces are a bit difficult to find. But the food is definitely worth it!

What can I say except that the food was fresh and very tasty. The service was excellent. We were there for Iftar/breaking the fast, the menus are plentiful and well put together. A great gesture was that the Adhan started to break the fast, it was very nice. Thanks to the team and keep it up. I can highly recommend the restaurant!

There's solid Lebanese grill fare. I can fully recommend the lentil soup, which is very different from Turkish lentil soup. As a starter we ordered well-crafted eggplant cream and hummus. The prices are unbeatable. If you want to eat grilled food, you shouldn't be afraid to visit this restaurant.

If you're looking for authentic Lebanese food, you nerd to go to the middle of this small Dortmund's district full of orientalna shops and cafes and enter this cozy restaurant. Tastes delicious, prices are quite low, looks amazing.

There were 7 of us there and we each ordered something different. It was flavorful. The hummus was particularly delicious. The beef tartare delighted my mother-in-law. The beef/chicken/lamb skewers were very fresh, well seasoned and very tasty. The tabbouleh salad, fattoush, kibbeh and falafel were amazing. The mocha at the end rounded off the meal well. The service is very friendly. The atmosphere is between a snack bar and a restaurant. Highly Recommended!

Best Lebanese restaurant in Dortmund!

I came all the away from Denmark and was on a roadtrip. And took one day here in Dortmund, I found this restaurant on google and it had like a “Golding Plate” for the best restaurant in the Town. And it was. Really good tasty and good quality food.

Apart from the warm welcome, the quality of the dishes served is very mediocre and more specifically the meats served are not fresh.

We were actually on our way to another restaurant, but then changed our mind at short notice in favor of this Lebanese restaurant. The Caracalla plate advertised is very rich and, at €21.00, still very inexpensive considering 3 meat skewers + shawarma and side dishes. Everything tastes wonderful, harmonizes perfectly with the two dips, pickled vegetables and Ayran and can therefore be recommended without reservation. The same applies to the cream cheese dessert for €3.90 and the Cay with fresh mint is also very popular. Service and ambience are also very pleasant. We will definitely come back again and test our way through the menu, then perhaps with one of the equally cheap €5 sandwiches with lamb, minced lamb, shawarma or something similar. :-) Keep it up Thumbs up!

World's best food. I regularly drive 28km to get there. Don't understand D.'s bad rating. They always try to do everything for the customer on site and the food didn't look dry at all. Just a word to the host and everything would be fine. Instead, I think a bad review is horrible. I'm going to dine there again today and I'm really looking forward to it.

Ich würde leider nicht noch mal hin. Der Service war super, daher auch die Sterne aber das Essen war leider nicht gar nicht gut. Das einzige was lecker waren, sind die Pommes gewesen. Das Fleisch war sehr trocken, siehe Bilder. 50% von meinem Teller war Salat und dann leider nicht mal mit irgendwas drauf, sondern einfach trockener Salat. Der wohl beste Teller mit dem der Laden wirbt, war fast ungenießbar, weil das Fleisch so trocken war, das man es kaum runter bekommen hat. Verstehe nicht wieso ihr die ganzen schlechten Bewertungen gelöscht habt ? Es ist nun mal wahr, dass euer Essen trocken ist. Ändert doch lieber was daran, statt Bewertungen zu löschen.

War mit meiner freundin da hatten zwei tellergerichte und was soll ich sagen fleisch trocken und zäh salat war leicht braun und schlabrig kellner desorientiert auf wünsche wird nicht eingegangen wie ohne knobi alles in allem für den preis rausgeschmissenes geld! Das erste und letzte mal da gibt es wirklich andere restaurants wo man was für sein geld bekommt!! Finde das echt eine frechheit wie man hier auch auf die schlechten bewertungen eingeht hätt ich mir das mal alles vorher durchgelesen wirklich unsymphatisch vom chef so zu antworten anstatt sachlich und kritikfähig zu bleiben…..

Lecker, gastfreundlich und sauber

Das Restaurant ist schön dekoriert und sieht sauber aus, allerdings ist das nur eine Falle. Wir haben den Grillteller für 2 Personen bestellt.. die Pommes wurde bestimmt heute schon 3 mal frittiert, das Lammfleischs sah total alt aus und war sehr zäh.Die Sauergurken schmeckten total vergammelt. Preisleistungsverhältnis passt gar nicht. Ich hoffe, ich werde nach diesem Essen nicht krank.. Bitte spart euch das Geld und die Zeit und geht woanders hin.. Ich verstehe nicht warum das Restaurant eine solche gute Bewertung im Internet hat. Ich kann das wirklich nicht nachvollziehen. Im Bild sieht ihr die Fleischqualität von Shawarma.

War gestern dort habe ein shawarma Hähnchen Teller bestellt und es war so trocken ich habe noch nie sowas trockenes gegessen musste mir 3 Wasser bestellen um es runter zu kriegen sie geizem mit der Knoblauch Soße alles mehr Schein als dein Leute

Our favorite restaurant in Dortmund. Thwy have lots of delicious vegetarian and even vegan dishes. The only not-so-great thing is the service. It is hard to get the attention of the waiter to order. However, one of the servers is super friendly and polite. Be aware that you often have to pay with cash.
