It was absolutely delicious, and the price was right. The ingredients were fresh and high-quality. When it came to the carbonara, they even asked us how we wanted it prepared – with cream or Italian style. The service was friendly. Perhaps we were asked a few too many times if we wanted anything, but that was easily resolved with a relaxed chat, and we even joked around a bit.

We dined at the restaurant with six people on a Monday evening in October. The ambiance is stylish and the view of the Ruhr River is beautiful. The interior is spacious, and the kitchen is open, so you can watch the chefs at work. We enjoyed everything – only three dishes on the special menu were a bit over-salted – but that could have been due to the Gorgonzola that was part of these dishes (fresh paccheri and risotto). The staff were very courteous and attentive. The menu was priced in the upper mid-range. Nevertheless, all in all, a highly recommended restaurant.

When there was a misunderstanding regarding the order in our large group, there was an unpleasant overreaction.

We had two truffle dishes that were an absolute 10/10! The turkey salad was also absolutely delicious. So, I highly recommend it. The price is worth it 🤗

We were in the area for business and stopped by here for dinner based on a recommendation. The ambiance immediately captivated us upon entering the restaurant, and we were greeted immediately. It wasn't busy, so we were able to choose our own seats. The food was excellent, a bit pricey, but in my opinion, very reasonable for the quality. During the meal, the service was always very attentive, and the kitchen staff even checked to make sure everything was okay. The food, service, and ambiance were simply excellent, and I definitely recommend them!

An ideal Italian restaurant in terms of location and ambiance, especially on a beautiful summer day. The service is good and friendly. The food, however, isn't consistently good. The focaccia was great, the prawn salad was good, but the spaghetti frutti di mare was completely unsatisfactory: the pasta sauce tasted like it had been reheated several times and overcooked, and the proportion of fresh ingredients was limited to four prawns. The other seafood options were just small rings of squid, overcooked in the sauce. Very poor! Other guests were also dissatisfied and left the pasta. More consistency in the quality of the food is needed here!

Small portions for a lot of money. No accommodations for a different dish. I wanted pasta with ham and tomato cream sauce, but it wasn't available. We were there for the first time with two couples. The best part was the terrace with a view of the Ruhr.

The quality of the food is more on par with a simple pizzeria. We had a gratin dish that used cheap, industrial cheese, but there was far too much of it, and the pasta was covered in liquid fat. The price is completely unreasonable. Friendly service, nice location. It's a shame; it could be much better.

We sat on the outdoor terrace overlooking the Ruhr River. The service was friendly. Drinks were served promptly. The salad we ordered contained all the ingredients listed. However, it didn't taste particularly good and was definitely on the high side, perhaps due to the good location. I probably won't be back. I wasn't impressed.

A huge thank you to the staff for their attentiveness: It was my birthday, and a table was lovingly decorated for me – a very nice and heartfelt surprise. 🎉 Small gestures like these create an atmosphere full of warmth and hospitality. The deciding factor for our visit was the restaurant's location – right on the Ruhr River! The setting was truly stunning from the terrace. The food (starter: focaccia pomodoro, main course: linguine con prawns) was another delight. The staff and service also left nothing to be desired. Highly recommended!

Fantastic place! Wonderfully located, with a beautiful view and a unique atmosphere. The service is very nice, helpful and smiling - you can immediately feel that the guests are really important here. The gnocchi was delicious - soft, delicate, perfectly seasoned. Ich habe heute eine Minestrone bestellt, die ich nach ein paar Löffeln nicht mehr weiter essen konnte. Das Gemüse war Tiefkühlkost, Bohnen waren nicht bissfest sondern steinhart. Auch die Gegebenheiten im Aussenbereich sehen alt aus. Gefegt wurde dort lange nicht. Der am Tisch angeklemmte Halter war total rostig.

We wanted to give the restaurant another chance after a few years because we weren't impressed by the service and quality before. Today, however, we were thrilled with the quality of the food. We ordered tagliatelle with beef strips and tagliatelle with truffle sauce, and we really enjoyed it. The servers were also very friendly. The prices are quite high—you should expect to pay €30 per person with a drink. The view from the upper terrace is, of course, breathtaking and a unique selling point. We would be happy to come back!

We were there on Sunday because the restaurant was still pretty empty. The conditions (female) were absolutely unmotivated and rude, the lady had absolutely no interest in her job. We waited 1.5 hours for our food and were quite disappointed. We had the fish plate twice for €39 each and there were 2 potatoes, some spinach, 2 small calamiri, a large shrimp and some small piece of fish, like pollack. For €39 I had had a better fish plate with squid and salmon and a few more vegetables. It wasn't even said what was on the plate Absolute flop and we had a steak with gorgonzola sauce. The stack for the same price was raw in the middle, not a little raw but really raw. Overpriced and the food wasn't great. I wouldn't recommend it just because of the ambience to have a drink. The pizza was good.

Nice location, food was good… Unfortunately, overwhelmed, helpless, uncoordinated staff where you have to say everything at least three times before you get it (card, drinks, ashtray, bill,...). The patron sits at the entrance like a bouncer who smokes one person after the other and, in a rather arrogant manner, points out the general direction in which one can sit down. He's not interested in much more, although he obviously notices that we're looking for a cellar and want to order something and pay later. Business seems to be going so well... For the prices you can get much better service and hospitality elsewhere. We will therefore no longer support these structures in the future... Good luck to you…👍👋

..if the food (baked noodles) comes BEFORE the drinks, that says a lot about the service... In general, everything seemed rather chaotic. The service was nice, but never apologized for any delays or "mistakes"... In principle, little things, yes, but that's exactly what it's often about, which separates the wheat from the chaff. The food was good, you can't say anything here: but you should never forget that most guests don't just come to "eat something", but also to enjoy the service and the special ambience (you pay enough money for that). In short: we won't be coming back.

There were three of us there. We were able to choose a nice place. Unfortunately it took at least 1 hour for the food to be served. When asked they said “coming soon”. Guests who arrived 30 minutes after us had their orders earlier than us. Our food was not served to everyone at the same time but rather after 5 minutes. difference. For me a sign from the restaurant "please don't come back and give the almost 80 € to someone else"

Why was there yesterday on a recommendation with 6 people (first and last time) Starters , carpaccio was frozen and thawed, focaccia was a pizza, crabs were swimming in butter. For the main course, 3 plates were returned Lamb fillet was swimming in a mixture of water and fat, meaning not even olive oil but fat Beef fillet was ordered medium, came almost raw, upon our request the plates were brought to the kitchen and the meat was further fried...so shoe sole... one dish 30 euros, no thanks. The surprise was 288 euros when we got the bill. When we asked, the waiter consulted with the boss and was offered a Ramazzotti, After I spoke to the boss, the 3 dishes were taken off the bill, the waiter was supposed to make a new bill, but without using the cash register, as if by magic, he suddenly had a corrected bill of 208 euros in his hand.. Food was very good. We had pizza Roma, baked penne, soufflé and tiramisu. Except for the soufflé, which wasn't liquid inside, the food was very tasty. The service was very nice and funny and we felt very comfortable. We sat right in front of the open kitchen which allowed us to see everything the chefs were making. We will come again.

Great atmosphere and good food!

Ordered the 4-course menu today and was particularly looking forward to the beef fillet. It took almost 2 hours until the main course and then the potatoes and vegetables were cold and the beef fillet was actually almost raw. Anything can happen, but what annoyed us more was that we still had to pay the full price and there wasn't even an excuse. We were only asked if the food should be brought back, but it was already after 9 p.m. and considering the previous waiting time, it wasn't an option. This is not a service. I always had a good impression there before, but now they've seen me for the last time.

Sehr schöne Lage an der Ruhr, aber dennoch nicht empfehlenswert . 1: Preis Leistung ist nicht gegeben , da unter anderem gewisse Zutaten gar nicht vorhanden sind dies aber der Gast erst erfährt wenn das Essen auf dem Tisch steht und Nachfragen muss ob in der Karte nicht was anderes steht . Die Pizza mit Rucola ,Bresaola und Parmesan kam ohne Rucola. 2: Die Wartezeiten sind eindeutig zu lang ,wir haben Verständniss wenn das Essen nicht direkt fertig ist auch da der Laden sehr voll war (zu voll) .Aber wir sehen nicht ein für ein Glas Wein 5malnachfragen zu müssen nach 1 Stunde Wartezeit wann es denn endlich kommen würde. Es schien so als würde es die ganze Zeit vergessen. 3:Preis Leistung stimmte nicht ,wir mussten den vollen Preis zahlen trotz dessen das manche Speisen nicht vollständig waren .Des weiteren gehört es zu guten Restaurants dazu dass man bei 2 Stunden Wartezeit wenigstens der Espresso oder der Schnaps danach aufs Haus geht ,dies war nicht der Fall 4: Der Service ,sowie die Küche wirkte sehr überfordert ,. der Chef raucht leider als sein Personal zu unterstützen. 6:Dies war unser letzter Besuch in diesem Lokal ,r im Umkreis gibt es sowohl günstigere als auch viel bessere italienische Restaurants

The location is nice, but that's about it. Unfortunately, the food and service were very disappointing and therefore absolutely not a recommendation. Staff is totally overwhelmed, disproportionately long waiting times for drinks. 40 minutes for 1 glass of wine is not possible. Boss who would rather smoke than support his staff and is not customer friendly. Unfortunately you can't give 0 stars. There are far better Italian restaurants with a feel-good factor in the area

Very nice Italian restaurant. Staff very nice and accommodating. The manager is also very pleasant and accommodating. We had pasta and pizza, both were excellent. Price performance is just right. There were only two or four of us here and everything was always right. Apparently there are often large groups there as we can see and they all look happy.

There were six of us eating there, the service just wasn't good, nobody came empty drinks, empty glasses remained, food was a 6 out of 10 on average, table reserved at 7 p.m., 6 other guests there, food came at 8:35 p.m., Had to be returned because it was too salty! Our conclusion after the visit: We wouldn't eat here again!

For me my favorite Italian 👍🏻 Updater after 4v years: After a few ups and downs and today's visit, we are aware that everyone has their own experiences but for us the quality of the food (after another change in cooking) is TOP, TOP, TOP again. The Capobianco in downtown Essen is really good, but our first visit here on the Ruhr was overall disappointing. First of all, it was loud on the terrace. They can't do anything about traffic, but do you have to sand your own wooden furniture with an electric sander next to the open terrace on a Saturday afternoon? The tables weren't clean, the head waiter had his shirt hanging out of his pants, the temporary waiter apparently had his first day and things didn't get any better. The appetizer we ordered was forgotten and bread was only available upon request. My gnocchi was swimming in sage with butter, which was too much of a good thing. The risotta was very expensive, quite tasty, but a portion that was far too large. Who eats so much rice and cheese? I think the organizing hand is missing in the restaurant. All of this can be easily turned off. Well, the staff shortage is omnipresent. Almost three stars.

I really should have said something on the spot, so I'll keep it brief. More appearance than reality. Had high expectations, but were disappointed. - Drinks good - Pizza boring - Restaurant chic and cheap Conclusion: Nope

A wonderful excursion should end in Steele at Capobianco Al Fiume. Unfortunately we weren't welcomed into the restaurant and had to find a table ourselves. After more than 10 minutes a waitress came and took the drinks. Several tables were served drinks after us. At the inside counter, the “boss” complained and gave instructions to the unsettled workforce. After we ordered pasta main dishes and several tables in front of us were delivered, two pizzas that we had not ordered came to our table. After a long wait, the pasta dishes arrived, which were probably prepared without salt water. We returned one of the two dishes because it had been sitting in the kitchen for far too long and the sauce had mixed with the pasta to form an unsightly mass. We skipped dessert and since no attempt was made to ask us for more drinks, we asked for the bill. Here too we were forgotten, so after paying we left the restaurant disappointed without saying goodbye. It's a shame that the overwhelmed employees (3) in service and in the kitchen (1) didn't get any help.

The ambience was great, the service was friendly but obviously overwhelmed, the kitchen staff shouted at each other and we waited 90 minutes for the main course - the food was rather lower middle class and far too expensive because it simply lacked quality and taste - the best thing was that Wine. We've eaten there several times and have always been satisfied, but today was definitely the last time.

- We waited over an hour for the food, one meal was delivered incorrectly (the restaurant wasn't even mediocrely busy at the time) - New drinks could not be ordered - empty glasses, bread baskets, etc. were not cleared away until payment was made - Cutlery was only brought for 4 out of 5 people, it took SEVERAL minutes until the last cutlery came

Actually a nice location. Had to wait a long time for our food. Shortage of staff. The staff were arguing loudly, which we found very unpleasant.

Very briefly: five of us had dinner. One of the drinks was forgotten and delivered 10 minutes later. Afterwards, my main course was forgotten and was served 40 minutes later, after everyone else had already eaten. Another drink was forgotten and was not served after being told twice. We asked for a dessert menu. This was brought after about 15 minutes. The food itself was quite good. Unfortunately the service was a disaster. The store was clearly understaffed, but that shouldn't be an excuse.

Excellent location on the banks of the Ruhr when the weather is nice. The only thing that wins here is the location. The tables outside were OK but not very clean. The tables weren't fully set either. Cutlery was sometimes with a napkin, sometimes without, and some of it wasn't clean. There were no additional napkins. The chairs were made of plastic. The food and drinks were very expensive. There were no small pizzas or drinks for children. As a starter there was baguette in a basket without a napkin. Warm vinegar & oil, salt & pepper were ready in the sun. Tasty is different. The pizza was very large, the quality was mediocre. Lots of cheese, few toppings. The vegan pizza without cheese stood out. The minestrone was partly made from frozen vegetables. Half of the food remained. Service was very slow even though it was relatively empty. Empty glasses were left at the table as new ones were delivered. There is another way to provide friendly, courteous service. He acted rather bored or demotivated. Someone from the team walked around the occupied tables several times smoking. Very disappointing for the price. That was the last time there.

Drinks only arrived after 45 minutes, tables were dirty from the previous person, food didn't come, after 90 minutes of waiting we left without eating... kitchen completely understaffed, restaurant full of guests... - proper personnel management is different, otherwise it would be It was definitely delicious, but the service left a lot to be desired, at least on that day...My wife and I actually wanted to spend a romantic evening there for two and wouldn't have paid attention to the budget,...but not like that, friends !
