Caféhaus Niederrhein in Kranenburg

A very nice place, once one of the best restaurants in the Kleve area, but now showing its age. The food used to be fresh and sometimes organic, but today it's more like a snack bar with restaurant prices, unfortunately also poorly served and no longer fresh. The service quickly becomes overwhelmed and overworked. A real shame, probably collapsed due to the coronavirus pandemic...

During a break in our Draisine ride, we wanted to have something to eat and drink with our group. There were no cards on the table with what was offered. When we asked for the card, a surly young man told us to just sit down and he'd give us the card. Back outside, we spotted a separate table with two cards. While we were watching, the surly young man stormed out and, without batting an eyelid, grabbed the cards from under us, keeping them out of sight. I've rarely experienced such an unfriendly, not warm, but hateful reception. Naturally, we left immediately. People, save yourself the trouble of even sitting here, but walk through the beautiful historic center to Derks bakery and buy delicious food and drinks there, served with a smile.

How awful. What a grumpy staff. We wanted to eat with a group, but were treated so rudely by the staff that we simply left. In Kranenburg itself, we had a delicious meal and the service was friendly. That's my advice to others as well. Kranenburg itself is a bit more lively. The town center is a 5-minute walk. You can choose from a fantastic bakery, an ice cream parlor, and (I think) two restaurants.

After a long bike ride of 53km we looked for a restaurant. The campsite manager suggested this one only 1.5 km away. We arrived at 19:05, but the kitchen closed at 19:00. The not so friendly service answered my question whether there was nothing small to order with "pomme mit bratwurst or wrap with tuna salad". Ok. We took that. The food (and beer) tasted fine in itself. But not being able to serve any customers 100% on Saturday evening at 19:00 seems out of touch to me. Hence the low score for me

Een leuk en mooi eetcafe. Heerlijk om ook buiten te zitten. Bestelling duurde best lang. Zo veel asperges krijg je niet in Nederland op je bord als je ze besteld! Deze waren lekker. Te weinig krijg je zeker niet geserveerd. Helaas was de Hollandaise saus geschift en zag er echt niet smakelijk uit. Erg jammer. De frites die mijn schoonvader bestelde waren te donker en droog. Gebakken in oud vet? Ook erg zout. Een beetje garnering met extra rauwkost bv schijfje tomaat, blaadje sla, komkommer, druifje oid zou bij de schnitzel met champignons een stuk smakelijker ogen en zijn.

Had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant yesterday. We had reserved a table by telephone at 2:00 PM. On the occasion of a friend's 60th birthday, we took the bicycle train from Groesbeek to Kranenburg. I had indicated that it was my girlfriend's birthday and that we had to finish the food within an hour due to... the return journey to Groesbeek. To my great disappointment, there was a private party and we were not welcome. The host was not nice, "raus", there was a sign, we had to leave. When I said I had made a reservation we were allowed to choose a table outside but we would not receive a card, he could possibly make something. There were also a group of other Dutch people there who were not allowed to order food. We then walked into Kranenburg and had a delicious meal at El Toro. I always prefer to confirm my reservation by email to be sure, but that was not possible in this case, as there is no email address on the website.

Simply good. Restaurant was understaffed due to illness, but excellent food was prepared for us and the service was excellent, friendly and attentive. Gladly again at any time.

We ordered food on Boxing Day. Although we placed the order a few days in advance, the products included there were sold beforehand. Then we paid €30 for schnitzel with soggy fries. It's also better to get the schnitzels from the chip shop. Oh yes . . There was also a salad that was too sour. Never again Cafehaus Niederrhein. Save your money

The cafe house impresses with local and regional quality and friendly staff. This restaurant quickly became our go-to restaurant when it comes to good food. The constantly changing menu constantly surprises with culinary innovations, but the “classics” also impress again and again. Whether as a couple or with a larger group, you are in good hands here. Nice place to have a drink after a bike ride with the draisine. Housed in the former station building of Kranenburg. Covered terrace overlooking the former platform and track. Friendly service. Parking is free in front of the door.

Had dinner tonight at this cozy restaurant. It was extremely busy, but the owner immediately did his best to find a table for us. Our dog was also very welcome, very nice! There was a live band playing, which created a nice atmosphere. The food was incredibly tasty and healthy, with many vegetarian options. In short, highly recommended!

Leuk restaurant aan het oude station van Kranenburg. We hadden frietjes en een soepje omdat we snel weer door moeten met de Draisine terug naar Kleve. Het eten was prima en het lokale bier ook.

Ben hier met mijn zoon (kok) en kleinzoon gaan eten, de keuze op de kaart was beperkt, de kwaliteit van het eten stond helemaal niet in verhouding met de prijs. Ik zou hier geen tweede keer heen gaan om te eten.

Wir kommen seit mehreren Jahren im Winter in's Caféhaus Niederrhein, da wir die Atmosphäre mit den hohen Decken mögen und ein warmes Getränk dort einfach lecker ist. In diesem Jahr hatten wir endlich die Zeit, hier zweimal zu Abend zu essen. Zwei von dreien der Familie sind Vegetarier - und hier werden alle glücklich! Die Küche ist saisonal-pfiffig. Auf die kleine feine Speisekarte und auf den Tisch kommt im Wesentlichen, was derzeit wächst. Dazu gibt es dann z.B. Gado-Gado-Sauce oder Kartoffel-Spitzkohl-Stampf. Nichts aus der Tüte, darauf legt man Wert. Den Service haben wir als motiviert, herzlich und flott erlebt. Dieser Tage auch wichtig: gutes Hygienekonzept und nach unserer Wahrnehmung vorbildliche Regeleinhaltung. Anmerkung 07/2023: Unser Besuch war im Januar 2022. Die Rezension war zwischenzeitlich gelöscht und wurde jetzt wieder eingestellt.

Altijd leuk, betaalbaar eten en je kan semi binnen roken.

Service kann besser man muss seine Bestellung selbst nach draußen holen. Die Lage ist schön aber... in meinen Augen einfach maßlos überteuert. Ich kenne die Preise ich habe selbst Jahre in der Küche gearbeitet.

Gemütliches Restaurant im alten Bahnhofsgebäude. Personal ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Essen war gut zubereitet und hat allen geschmeckt. Regelmäßige wechselnde Karte. Schöner Ausbereich mit Blick auf Draisine und Fahrrad Strecke. Auch super für einen kurzen stopp mit Kaffee und Kuchen. Kartenzahlung möglich.

Gemütliche Atmosphäre, Preis Leistung passt auf jeden Fall. Mit dem Rad gut zu erreichen über den EU-Radweg Kleve - Nijmegen.

Lekker gegeten! Op verzoek gerecht aangepast en het was heerlijk!

Prima adres in een voormalig stationsgebouw, sfeervol een beetje Frans aandoend café restaurant. Voor elk wat wils op de kaart. Voor mij de forel, een echt grote vis, perfect bereid, smelt op de tong. Erbij frites en een salade, gewoon prima. Disgenoot een pulled wild zwijn met rode kool en frites. Heeft er ook van genoten, portie wel erg royaal. Nu eens geen "vreetschuur", zoals vele in deze omgeving, maar een gezellig restaurant dat volledig volgeboekt was.

Nach einer schweißtreibenden Draisinenfahrt bei 30 ° war ein kaltes Getränk willkommen. Pinkus vom Fass, da heißt es "Daumen hoch". Die Wraps waren Spitze und superlecker.

De tafeltjes niet te dicht op elkaar, vriendelijke bediening en goede kwaliteit voor de prijzen die ze rekenen. Voor Duitse begrippen veel vegetarische opties, zoals de Indiase kaas in paneermeel. Ik had de varkensmedaillons in gorgonzolasaus, ook heerlijk. 1 minpuntje is de niet zo spannende bierkaart, daar kunnen ze wat meer werk van maken.
