I've been to Café Restaurant La Mamma a few times now, and I have to say, a lot has really improved since the new owners took over. The service is now much more attentive, friendlier, and you can tell the team enjoys their work. There were occasional hiccups in the past, but now everything runs smoothly. The food has impressed me every time, too. It's fresh, deliciously prepared, and beautifully presented. The Italian classics in particular taste like they would in a good family business, down-to-earth and made with lots of love. Add to that the relaxed atmosphere, where you immediately feel at home. All in all, it's a fantastic restaurant that has significantly improved in quality under the new management. If you've known La Mamma for a while, you should definitely go back; it's worth it.

La Mama is a beautiful atmosphere with great Italian food to match. The mushroom risotto special was stand out. They offer a good range of kids options and a nice extensive menu. Outside is beautiful and inside is very cute and romantic. Thankyou Norma for the lovely hospitality. We will be back next time we are in Berlin

The perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal in a cozy atmosphere. We immediately got a table for four outside. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious; we tried pizza, gnocchi, pasta, and steak, and everyone was very satisfied. We'll probably go back next year.

Beautifully located on Marheinekeplatz! Relaxed atmosphere. We had antipasti verde and a gorgonzola pizza. Both tasted very good! The operators are very nice and accommodating.

Last night, a little hungry after the concert next door drew us to this lovely restaurant. Since it was already quite late, we first asked if we could still go in. We were warmly welcomed by the lovely owner and served straight away. We ordered a mint tea and a Margherita pizza that we wanted to share. We each received a plate with two quarters...a nice gesture 😊 The pizza was very good, the dough was very tasty and the toppings were very tasty. The tea was with fresh mint. The waiters were very nice, very friendly. I didn't enjoy a drink and they replaced it immediately. Rarely you find this offer in Berlin restaurants. Salad and fisch were good.

We haven't eaten so well in a long time! Before the concert at Columbia we wanted some delicious food and we definitely have that here! We spontaneously got a place for 4 people without a reservation. It appears to be a family run restaurant and we are delighted with both the quality and the price and will definitely be back. Even the tomato soup was a delicacy!

Very nice outdoor spaces in the sunshine 😎. The fish soup was a garlic soup with fish fragments. The Martini Bianco was very small. The pizza 🍕 was good.

Cost effective lunch and great coffee!

We came to this place by accident, but we really liked it - it looks nice and cozy outside and inside (even though the interior items are not new). The male waiter and female were very friendly. We were with two small children - we were immediately offered a children's chair and toys. It was almost empty inside and very calm on Saturday around 5 p.m., but closer to 5 p.m. it became crowded. We ordered pizza, house wine and lasagna - everything was quite tasty. (Although without frills.) The prices are also normal 👌 I’m sure we’ll come back for a family dinner.

A home away from home. Nora is an absolute gem! This place is a rare find in Berlin, as in its Super Personable, hands on, and friendly to the degree that you feel at home as soon as you sit down. From when Nora came to our table with the menu, to the moment four hours later where we left with a hug, I knew I’d found a special rare find in this city. Great food, amazing service, but above all else, a hospitality you can only find in a moms kitchen. Whether that mom happens to be Italian, Irish, Kosovian, Canadian, German or otherwise.. nobody does it better than Norma. Thank you Bella! We’ll be back, and we’ll be bring friends 💚🙏☘️

A bit cramped but nice terrace right on Marheineke Platz. The service is quick and very nice. The food is heated up quickly, served quickly and goes well with average wine. EDIT: 23 new owners since autumn and it was worth giving it another try! Apparently people are cooking again in the kitchen and it's not just the microwave that's being used. My arugula salad with grilled pulpo was delicious and freshly made! The antipasti platter for 2 is easily enough for 3, very spicy salami, Parma ham is more reminiscent of simple prosciutto crudo and the bread is unfortunately very boring. Grilled vegetables and delicious cheese are a real plus - overall it's fine!

All in all just so-so. The food is ok and not too expensive. The service is friendly, but communication is a bit difficult. That's why you get the wrong drink, for example, or no receipt "because you should have said so beforehand".

We were in Berlin today for a concert and happened to walk past the restaurant. We were immediately greeted in a friendly manner and served as quickly as possible even though it was busy. The bruschetta, pizza and lasagne are more than impressive in terms of taste and value for money! All in all, super tasty and highly recommended again.

We waited 40 mins for a pasta, after asking twice for the food. Food was ok, small portion. Same with the drinks. That apologized saying there are a mistake in the kitchen. Same thing happened, at least. to 3 other tables. One couple even left without having the food served. As we waited for si long, we had plenty of time to observe all this and even make jokes with two guys seated next to us.

It was the worse steak I’ve ever had the cooked vegetable tasted like they were in the freezer and the bread was old and very breakable the rosmarine potatoes didn’t even had rosmarine -.-!it was very bad now I understand why most of the people there hustling had a salad or drink atleast the salad was good but the service was terrible

we just wanted to have a quick coffee! We waited a long time to see if anyone from the staff wanted to take our order - but in vain! At the counter you were just sent away: “My colleague is coming to you soon!” The colleague came 5 minutes later and just took the dirty dishes from the next table and ignored us! We won't be coming back! A pity!

Owner has only been there for a few months Vegetarian pizza was very tasty and one was enough for my girlfriend and me...then everyone had 2 coffee drinks (latte & cappuccino) and we could even sit outside/Sunday February 25th, 2023 it was mild and partly sunny👍 Service was friendly & nice Gladly again...but we walked there from Steglitz (approx. 8.5km)... So don't live near there😉

Pizza vegetale zum mitnehmen war überraschend frisch und geschmacklich sehr gut, dazu noch günstig mit 9,90€!

Das Essen war leider nicht so besonders. Gerichte mit Fisch würde ich dort nicht empfehlen, gewürzt waren die Gerichte auch nicht wirklich. Sehr nettes Personal.

Die Pasta ist ok und man sitzt draußen recht nett. Jedoch sind die Bedienungen unfassbar unfreundlich. Zudem ist Kartenzahlung nicht möglich.

Das Restaurant la Mama ist sehr gut.Die Freundlichkeit der Kellner ist sehr erwünschenswert, das Essen dass man serviert bekommt ist sehr qualitativ und besonders lecker.Die Preise sind sehr fair für das was man aufgetischt bekommt und die Atmosphäre des Restaurants ist sehr gemütlich und mit sehr viel Liebe gestaltet. Ich empfehle dieses Restaurant an jeden und werde auf jeden Fall wieder bei la Mama Essen gehen.

We were there today for lunch. The waiter was friendly and the pizzas first class. The caprese albeit a bit too cheesy - but now we know to ask for less next time. Covid has been hard on a lot of small businesses, and I hope people will give this place another chance.

Das Restaurant hat mich sehr sehr positiv überrascht . Das Essen sehr lecker und gut zubereitet, man merkt das in den Gericht viel Liebe steckt . Niemals wieder werde ich wo anders italienisch eseen gehen . 👍👍👍

La Mamma konnte mich bei meinem letzten Besuch leider nicht überzeugen. Die Karte wirkte lieblos gestaltet, der Spinat auf der Pizza Gorgonzola hatte leider keinen Geschmack und der Service war leider auch nicht wirklich zugewandt.

Ein großes Lob an La Mamma! Vom Essen bis zum Service ist alles gut, Ich werde Mama immer besuchen.

Food was amazing and the waiter was extremely friendly! They did mix up my husband's order, but rectified it very quickly and also treated us to some complimentary limoncello! The outside seating is quite plain but the service made up for it!

Won't come back! The last two times I've been to this restaurant I've been treated with rudeness and disrespect by the Italian waiter. This past time he was complaining to me that I didn't speak good enough Deutsch. He ignored us and then was rude. It's really unfortunate as the restaurant is really lovely and the food is quite good. Too bad!

Nicht umsonst hat dieses Restaurant so viele schlechte Bewertungen. Über 2 Std. Wartezeit für unser Essen. Die Kellner waren unfreundlich, super langsam und total unaufmerksam. Wir musste immer mal wieder aufstehen und die Kellner zum Tisch bitten. War kurz davor selbst zu bedienen. Das Essen war von den Zutaten her nicht vollständig. Haben es der Bedienung gesagt. "Die Zutaten wären eben nicht mehr vorhanden gewesen." Hätte man ja auch nicht einfach sagen können, als wir bestellt haben, schließlich sind die Zutaten ja aufeinander abgestimmt. War aber eh egal, weil die Gerichte, die wir hatten, ungenießbar waren - egal ob fehlende Zutaten oder nicht. Die Pizza hat wie eine TK Pizza geschmeckt. Das eine Fleisch war zu stark gewürzt, das andere Fleisch war nicht richtig durch. Der Wein kam auch ohne Gläser. Sollten anscheinend alle aus einer Flasche trinken. Der Chef hat die ganze Zeit seine Mitarbeiter angeschrien bzw. runter gemacht. So sollte man echt nicht mit anderen Menschen umgehen. Auch die anderen Gäste schienen nicht mit der Qualität des Essens, des Services und dem Umgang mit den Mitarbeitern zufrieden zu sein. Eigentlich schade, super Lage und von der Einrichtung war es auch ziemlich nett. Trotzdem nie wieder!!

Bedienung ist die totale Katastrophe, mega unfreundlich, hält sich wahrscheinlich für witzig/schmissig ist aber nur elend unfreundlich. Haben ewig auf den Salat mit Scholle und Spargel gewartet. Spargel war wässrig und völlig salzlos, Scholle genauso. Ich hätte ja gar nichts geschrieben, hätte ich nicht schon an anderer Stelle in den Rezeptionen über ihn lesen können und ich kann das nur bestätigen: mega schlimmer Typ. Eine Schande, weil die Lage ist super.

Ich hab beim bezahlen (natürlich keine Kartenzahlung möglich) leider zu viel Geld gegeben und hab es kurz danach beim nächsten öffnen meines Portmonee bemerkt und bin zurück gegangen. Leider wurde ich selten so schlecht belogen. Die Bedienung konnte sich natürlich sofort ganz genau erinnern welche Scheine ich wo abgelegt hatte und der ganze Rest der Angestellten hatte das natürlich gesehen und kann mir das bestätigen. Schade. Aber er scheint das Geld offensichtlich nötiger zu haben als ich.

I ordered the 138 pizza with olives, goat cheese, walnuts and arugula. It showed up without the walnuts or arugula. I asked the waiter after I received the pizza. He said they were out of arugula. No idea why the walnuts were missing. He didn't seem to care. I liked this restaurant before, but I won't go back.

Die Pizza ist lecker. Der Kellner, der anscheinend seinen ersten Tag hatte, war super freundlich! ABER der andere? Total unfreundlich, hat in einem ziemlich blöden Ton mit uns gesprochen, obwohl wir nur freundlich sagten, dass wir gekommen waren, um die bereits bestellte Pizza abzuholen. Unmöglicher Umgang!

Das Restaurant kann ich nicht empfehlen. Das Essen war wirklich nicht gut aber an einem enttäuschenden Abend noch das Beste. Das Ambiente ist schlimm. Aber das schlimmste ist der Service. Langsam, unachtsam, vergesslich und wirklich unfreundlich. Wir hatten Hunger und haben auf zwei Pizzen und einen Teller Antipasti eineinhalb Stunden gewartet. Als es denn endlich kam: keine Entschuldigung, keine Erklärung, nichts. Eine einzige Enttäuschung.

nice place to sit in the sun and waiter really tried to provide good service, but pretty much everything else was poor :( Our starters: asparagus cream soups were more of lemon soups (+ my first serving of it was in a dirty bowl heavily stained from a previous red dish) and had a few small hard pieces and a lemon stone in it. My wirs garlic gnocci (as main) were not in a pesto-cream sauce as described, but rather in a roux with some green pieces (tastes like premade microwave sauce, although gnocci itself were good). My partner did not like his lamb rague either (almost no meat and also did not taste homemade). Moreover everything took forever: the soups came first together with the main courses (weird but no big deal), which we wanted to get back a little later, so we could eat the soups first. But then it took over 45 minutes (and several reminders) to get the main courses back (I strongly assume it were the same portions due to some single reheated looking arugula leaves under some fresh arugula). It then also took a super long time to get the bill. People around us also made faces, because everything was so super slow. So unfortunately, it was very nice to sit there while the sun set, but we will definatly not go there again.

Sehr enttäuschend. 1,5 Std Wartezeit für Spargel, der noch hart war. Kleine Hauptspeisen, die nicht satt machten. Die lange Wartezeit wurde damit gerechtfertigt, dass wir eine Vorspeise hatten. Es gab keine Entschuldigung oder Einsicht sondern nur Selbstlob. Keine Kartenzahlung möglich, man weiß ja, was das bedeutet. Wir werden nie wieder kommen.

Kleines und feines Restaurant. Die Pizza Rukola war sehr lecker und groß. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und freundlich und wie ich mitbekommen hatte, kam er aus Tropea. Eine sehr schöne Stadt in Süd Italien, welche ich auch schon besucht hatte. Ich kann jedem empfehlen hier vorbei zu kommen und auch lecker Speisen. Ich sage Danke.

Nothing to do with Italian kitchen, only decent thing are the biscotti. Below average food, very unimpressive pizza for unfair prices. But the worst part as has been mentioned by many is the service. Staff is either simply uninterested and not trained, or some flat out rude. I've given it 3 chances over the course of 4 years of living nearby and it only gets worse.

Nicht zu empfehlen!! Nach ewig langer Wartezeit kommt das Frühstück (unvollständig wohlgemerkt!) und als Krönung mit einer toten Spinne im Salat!!! Wir machten aus Respekt vor den anderen wenigen Gästen keinen Aufstand und zeigten dem Kellner sehr diskret die Spinne. Er meinte daraufhin, dass das passieren könne und ja nicht so schlimm sei. Ohne unsere Bitte brachte er uns einen neuen Salat, doch unserer Appetit war uns bereits vergangen. Er wollte daraufhin den vollen Preis für das Essen verlangen, letztlich wurde uns aus „Kulanz“ ein Getränk abgezogen, jedoch erst nach unserer Nachfrage… Der Kellner versuchte weiterhin die Spinne im Salat zu rechtfertigen, da es ja aus der Natur stamme etc., doch offensichtlich fehlte es an Hygienevorschriften. Eine Entschuldigung haben wir nicht bekommen. Er sollte uns dankbar sein, dass wir keinen Aufstand gemacht haben und alles ruhig erklärt haben, andere Gäste hätten bei so einer Aktion und dem schlechten Service durchaus (und zurecht) durch den Laden geschrien, andere Gäste vergrault und evtl. sogar das Gesundheitsamt kontaktiert. Wir sahen davon ab, bereuen unsere Entscheidung dort gegessen zu haben jedoch massiv und empfehlen niemanden dort essen zu gehen!

Pizza war gut (Achtung sehr groß), Bedienung typisch italienisch rustikal, Ambiente Industriecharme gut umgesetzt.

Bedauerlicherweise wirkte die Bedienung recht genervt, wir wussten nicht, ob seine Aussagen jetzt witzig oder eher zynisch gemeint waren. Dadurch entstand in jedem Fall eine Atmosphäre, in welcher wir uns nicht wohlfühlten. Die Speisen entsprachen nur z.T. den Beschreibungen aus der Speisekarte. Da wir jedoch zum einen froh waren, etwas auf dem Tisch zu haben, zum anderen keine Lust mehr auf unfreundliche Kommunikation, haben wir uns nicht dazu geäußert. P.S.: das übliche Brot vorab, mitunter auch Oliven, sowie den Verdauungslikör danach gab es ebenfalls nicht... Mit uns nieeee wieder!

Ein authentischer Italiener! Die Lokation erinnert an typisch Kreuzberger Stil der 80ger. Hier kann man hervorragend Italienisch essen von tollen Nudelgerichten bis hin zur Pizza. Das Personal ist mit Leidenschaft dabei ohne aufdringlich zu sein.

Das positive: man sitzt sehr gemütlich Aber: wir hatten gefragt, ob wir nur etwas trinken können, war ok. Der Service war dann aber sehr herablassend und rundete die Rechnung später zu seinen Gunsten auf. Die Qualität der Getränke war im unteren Bereich, wir werden nicht wiederkommen.
