We ate there for the first time today. We were all thrilled with the staff, the quality of the food, and the atmosphere! We will definitely be back.

Unfortunately, our visit wasn't particularly positive. The food was good, but the value for money... okay. There are better options for the money. Unfortunately, the service was really poor, which puts a stop to a restaurant like this. We waited there with our child and quickly got the feeling that children aren't particularly welcome there. The servers were quite unfriendly; a drink was cleared away even though it wasn't empty, and in the end, it just wasn't complete. For a meal with a three-figure bill, it just wasn't worth it. A shame.

Beautifully located by the park with a beer garden.

We received a very warm welcome right at the entrance. We were seated at a table on the open terrace, well-protected by the glass windows, yet still able to enjoy the magnificent view of the park. The food and wine were excellent. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and we felt completely at home. The value for money is excellent, and we would be happy to return.

Unfortunately, the chanterelles were very poorly cleaned... Otherwise, it was delicious.

The waiter wasn't exactly polite. My chair was too far back, and he complained because he couldn't get through quickly enough. That could have been more polite. Perhaps the tables should be spaced a little further apart, so the waiters would have enough space. The food was tasty, but the presentation was poor.

Beautifully situated in the park. We love sitting on the covered, glass-enclosed terrace, enjoying the delicious food and the beautiful view. Very attentive service and excellent cuisine. The menu carousel offers some great menus.

We had reserved the round table by the window for our mother's 97th birthday four weeks before the event. When we arrived, nothing was prepared, and it wasn't reserved for us either. Instead, two tables were pushed together next to the doorway to the restroom. The table we had reserved was still occupied. However, it was clear that the guests were leaving. Nevertheless, we weren't offered anything of the sort. Reluctantly, we accepted the cat's table. We ordered five glasses of sparkling wine as an aperitif. Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be enough left in the house, as the 0.1ml glasses weren't even filled to the mark. I ordered asparagus for myself, along with pike-perch and hollandaise sauce. I've never eaten such bad fish. Two tiny pieces were so hard and dry, inedible. The salmon, which we ordered twice, was also dry and the skin wouldn't come off. The two meat dishes were fine. As an apology, we were offered a small dessert. We declined, as it wouldn't have improved the meal. We discovered this restaurant a few years ago on a recommendation. Last time was on November 24th. I don't think we'll visit this restaurant again. Finally, I must note that the two disabled parking spaces were occupied by two vehicles that didn't have a blue parking permit displayed in their vehicles.

Everything was fine again and again.

After 5 years of Easter buffets in a row and reservations (always 3-4 weeks in advance), they have now tried again and again to seat us at the cat table in the passage. No accommodation or flexibility from the owner. Opportunities would have been available (even outside of the seats already reserved) to offer or move a table without disrupting the processes (gastronomy experience available). Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio has not been the same for a few years now. There are now more recommended restaurants nearby. We won't be coming back.

It's a shame... Reservations for the café are rejected with the information that it is only 10% a café. Please adjust the name if café/cake guests are not welcome! We would have been very happy about a visit, but we won't try the restaurant as it is.

Leider kann ich keine gute Bewertung abgeben. Ich wollte für einen ehem. Mitarbeiter einen Gutschein bestellen, da er in der Gegend des Restaurants wohnt und diesen ganz normal auf Firmenrechnung mit Versand. Beim ersten Telefonat wurde mir gesagt ich solle eine Email schicken mit den Infos, dann kam auf zwei Emails meinerseits keine Reaktion obwohl ich auch gebeten habe, mir zu sagen, wenn es nicht klappt, da ich Ersatz suchen muss. Beim zweiten Telefonat wurde mir dann relativ unfreundlich mitgeteilt dass ich den Gutschein selbst abholen muss und Bar zahlen. Wohlgemerkt sitze ich hier in Baden Württemberg. Keinerlei Reaktion auf Emails innerhalb 2 Wochen und erst Versprechungen machen die dann unfreundlich revidiert werden, ist leider nicht mehr als ein Stern wert. Zum Essen kann ich leider nichts sagen und unser ehem. Mitarbeiter dann wohl auch nicht. Vielleicht kann man hier am Kundenservice und der Freundlichkeit noch nachlegen. ;)

We have been happy to be guests at the café and restaurant in Eickeler Park for years. In winter you can sit near the fireplace and in summer on the terrace with a view of the large meadow in front and the flower beds. But not only the ambience but also the food and service have not disappointed us so far. In particular, the owner and, more recently, his son always gave us the feeling that we had chosen the right place for a good meal with their friendly, reserved manner.

The Café & Restaurant in Eickeler Park in Herne takes part in the menu carousel and so we visited it. It is modernly furnished and has a beautiful winter garden. We were greeted warmly and quickly taken to a festively set table. During our entire stay we received courteous and friendly service from all employees. All the dishes arrived at different times so that we could thoroughly enjoy the evening and the menu with wine accompaniment. The wine glasses were refilled regularly and without being asked. All dishes were very tasty, although we would like to highlight the main course “water buffalo tournedos”. We were very satisfied and will happily visit the restaurant again.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the restaurant for family celebrations. We celebrated my mother's 80th birthday there last weekend. The boss of the house didn't show his best side in advance, but since we needed a barrier-free location, we accepted that. Things were to get even worse: when we came to decorate the room at the agreed time, the boss became really loud and choleric... that wouldn't work now, after all, he couldn't keep the room free just for us all day. If we don't like that, we could celebrate somewhere else. Very disrespectful, that's not how you treat guests. We have never experienced such unprofessional behavior. To celebrate, it should be said that the service staff really went to great lengths. Everyone is very friendly and always eager to fulfill all wishes. Unfortunately, the food from the buffet was only average. No special taste or kick. My conclusion: I will no longer enter this restaurant.

It's actually a shame. We expected a lot and were seriously disappointed. Unfortunately, a snooty local boss ruined a family celebration. Conversations were not possible, agreements were not kept and we were literally dismissed with the words: "You can celebrate somewhere else if it doesn't suit you." That's not how you treat customers!!!! The food was okay, but not amazing either. The staff was friendly, but the evening was still over for us. This person doesn't get a cent from me anymore.

Were we unlucky at our family celebration, I don't know. The boss was a nogo! The buffet went like this, didn't go home hungry. Service, um, espresso came after the third order and water still had to be flown in. The only positive thing was the friendly appearance of the waiters. It's a shame, I actually remember it better.

Be careful at family celebrations there! The boss seems to be choleric. He was already very rude during the preliminary conversation about the celebration. After some guests declined, he called the 80-year-old hostess and said very harshly that she still had to pay for all the meals. Which would be ok even if it was canceled at short notice, but not in this tone. Completely disrespectful. On the day of the celebration it was agreed that we could decorate the room a little beforehand. When we arrived at the agreed time, he immediately asked us what we wanted and whether we thought he would reserve the hall for us for the whole day. After a heated discussion he said we could look for another restaurant. 3 hours before guests arrive!! The evening passed quietly; he didn't show up near us. We were disappointed with the buffet. Chicken and roast beef were dry and the sauces were bland. The whistle was missing. Otherwise, we were always happy with the food there, the place is nice, the staff friendly. Otherwise we wouldn't have chosen it for a birthday party. It's just terrible how guests are treated. I've organized many celebrations, but nothing like this has ever happened to me!

Unfortunately I can't give it less than one star. The biggest problem with this restaurant is clearly the manager. He shamelessly takes advantage of the fact that it is the only ground-floor restaurant in the area, especially for older guests. Simply saying three hours before a planned celebration: “Then you can leave now, you don’t have to have the celebration here” – that’s hard to beat in terms of disrespect. I have to emphasize: The service and the waiters were really great! Friendly, attentive and hard-working - but what's the point if the manager ruins any hospitality? Unfortunately, the food was also disappointing: carelessly prepared, either unsalted or completely oversalted, and the selection was more than poor. Conclusion: You should avoid this restaurant just because of the manager. Dealing with guests in this way should not be rewarded or supported. Absolutely not recommended!

The waiters are very unmotivated and don't really listen when you order. Ambiance and food are good. It's nice that you can sit outside too.

We were there with 9 people for a relaxed parents' meeting. When we reserved the table, we had stated in advance that we would not eat but only drink. In the middle of the week, significantly less than half of the tables in the “winter garden” where we were seated were occupied (occupancy rate estimated at 20 percent). After receiving the first round of drinks, the owner, who seemed very annoyed, came and asked if we wanted to order some food because if we mostly only drank cola he wouldn't be able to make any money. (By the way, it wasn't just cola that was drunk). When we asked whether that meant we had to leave if we only wanted to consume drinks, we were told that that was the case. Tonally, the conversation (if you want to call it that) ranged from accusatory to aggressive. Café and restaurant where you are not allowed to sit if you only order drinks? Even though that was already discussed when making the reservation? After this performance, we actually preferred to leave and move to Kavalla, which doesn't call itself a café, but when asked, it was still no problem to sit down "just" for drinks. A really unpleasant experience. In the run-up to it, I've personally been there several times just for a beer, especially in the summer, and that's never been a problem. Certainly not after today's experience. Incidentally, one round of drinks already cost us over 50 euros and we would have definitely reordered 2-3 more times. Unfortunately there is no trace of hospitality. If the restaurant had been bursting at the seams with the influx of guests, you might have been able to understand that (but even then you wouldn't have had to tolerate the tone of voice) but under these circumstances, the behavior only leaves us all with a big question mark and, unfortunately, a bad review and the certainty that we won't be returning there again (not even for dinner anymore, by the way)

We received very good advice and support here in the run-up to a larger event. The staff is very courteous, attentive and friendly. Price/performance fits well. We can only recommend it and would be happy to come back. 5☆

Leider war der gestrige Besuch in diesem Restaurant eine große Enttäuschung. Schon bei der Reservierung wurden hier Fehler gemacht. Ich hätte erwartet, das ich einen Hinweis bekomme, das an diesem Abend nur Büffet angeboten wird. Dies in diesem Restaurant (auch an Feiertagen) nicht üblich. Das Essen hatte dadurch in keinerlei Hinsicht die gewohnte Qualität. Das Essen war zum Teil nicht mehr heiß, die Pommes matschig. Der Bereich der Desserts sah sehr unschön aus, hier wäre es besser gewesen, die Desserts Portionsweise anzubieten. Dies bei einem Preis von knapp 40€ steht zu den angebotenem Büffet nicht im Verhältnis. Für uns war dies der letzte Besuch in diesem Restaurant.

We were invited to a wedding reception. The atmosphere was very nice. We all felt comfortable and enjoyed the evening. We will definitely go there for a private meal sometime

We were invited to dinner and when I saw the prices I lost my appetite a little. We ordered 2x schnitzel €25 - pork and €30 - veal. At least the pork schnitzel came with fries and salad, and the wafer-thin veal schnitzel was only accompanied by a strange potato salad. Everything was beautifully presented, but the quantity was kept very manageable. The poor waiters had to scratch their heels because they were probably alone. Nevertheless, they were extremely nice and friendly. All in all, I don't need anything like that. Especially not such prices! I find 46€ for a piece of fillet without anything to be outrageous and I will never pay that. But there are probably some regular guests for whom it is more important that you know them by name and address them and at least you are among yourself. Hello Madam/Doctor/Professor/etc.

We had dinner there after my mom's funeral. Just great. The food was delicious, the service was very good and the large windows in the hall were opened in the nice weather. I can only recommend it.

This attractive restaurant is located in the middle of Eickler Park. When the weather is nice you can eat and drink outside. We have always been very satisfied so far. The price-performance ratio is right. I like the clear menu and the attentive service.

Wie der Name schon sagt, "im Park" gelegen Nach einer umfangreichen Renovierung und großzügigen Erweiterung ist aus dem früher altbackenen Restaurant eine tolle Lokalität geworden , drinnen, im Wintergarten und im Sommer draußen im Park . Junges und freundliches Personal und wohl auch in der Küche, dazu der professionelle, sympathische Gastgeber machen das Restaurant absolut empfehlenswert In der Nähe gibt's keine vergleichbare Adresse .

The restaurant is located in a very nice and well-kept park. The restaurant is decorated relatively attractively, the atmosphere is ok. There is a large outdoor area on 2 levels. Once completely free to sit and another large area with an opening roof and sliding glass elements that can be converted into a kind of winter garden. The dishes are nicely prepared and tasty. The price-performance ratio is right. The employees are very friendly and helpful, the boss is rude and almost rude.

The popular restaurant in the middle of the Eickeler Volkspark offers good service and above-average and varied cuisine in an upscale category and with slightly higher prices. It is a popular tourist destination. The selection of drinks and wine is good and varied, and there are also special types of beer on tap. The restaurant is regularly visited by many regular guests and is also often booked for special occasions. The atmosphere in the main room with the large windows and the view of the park is particularly beautiful, as is the outdoor area in the park.

We celebrated our daughter's confirmation there... the food and service were very good, the atmosphere was appropriate... we were very satisfied and we will celebrate the next family celebration there again... highly recommended!!

Had dinner there with my parents today. The location in the park is really very nice. The chairs and tables are super comfortable and invite you to linger. The main courses were fresh, flavorful and very tasty. The meat was well cooked and tender, which is not always so easy with pork. Fries are crispy and really REAL fries, they are even served in a deep fryer basket. The mayo is served in such unsightly tear-open pouches that it's better to get it right. And it's also a shame that in the dish "Asparagus with Rösti", the Rösti was buried under the asparagus. Unfortunately, there isn't much left of the crispiness that was there. We had to wait in vain for a dessert until we paid. We apologized for it several times, but it still seemed a bit stuffy on the part of the house. A short drink or espresso on the house would definitely have resulted in more tips.

The food was ok. We didn't like the service this time. It wasn't full and there were 3 service staff besides the boss. After we were assigned a table, nothing happened at first, even though the service staff were not busy. Then after about 5 minutes the table behind us was occupied. A waiter immediately came to the table, brought cards and took the order. We still had nothing. Neither cards nor a waiter. After another 5 minutes, a waiter noticed that we would also like to be served and brought the cards. Was very rude from the staff. You also had the feeling that the friendliness was somehow just an act.

We were in the beautiful Jägerzimmer for the confirmation. The buffet was to our complete satisfaction, very tasty and a good selection. The staff were very attentive and polite. Last but not least, I would like to mention the great table decorations, which were made entirely according to our wishes. A lovely day all round. I will happily recommend this restaurant.

Ich hatte für ein Abendessen mit Freunden aufgrund einer Empfehlung dieses Restaurant ausgewählt und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Tomate Mozzarella als Vorspeise und dann ein leckeres auf den Punkt gebratenes Filetsteak mit Röstkartoffeln und Gemüse. Zum Abschluss ein leckeres Eis. Unauffälliger diskreter Service, gute Atmosphäre und ein richtig leckeres Essen in einer schönen Umgebung. Draußen kann man im Sommer herrlich sitzen , mitten im Park … Wir kommen wieder

Incredibly rude. When my sister and I arrived around 5 p.m. and asked for a table for two, we were initially ignored and laughed at by a member of staff. When another employee appeared, I asked again for a table for two. Although it was very empty, we didn't want to just sit down anywhere. We were asked if we wanted to eat something or drink something and I replied that we just wanted something to drink. We were then rudely sent away. A short time later we called and complained about this. The person on the other side, from the voice of the one who had sent us away, said it would be possible to just have a drink, but that day was very crowded and stressful. But in my opinion it wasn't full and around 75% of the tables were free. There were hardly any reservations. We wouldn't have stayed longer than an hour, if at all, but that didn't seem to matter. When we described this, the response was rude and we simply hung up. After a second call we were turned away again. When we were told that such a rude manner would cause us to lose customers, we were told "that's your problem." It's been a long time since we've experienced something so rude. If it's too crowded, you can calmly describe and explain it. Especially since when we entered the café, 3 employees were standing together calmly and chatting
