Café Peri in Berlin

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food.

Food is very tasty, the staff is also really friendly and accommodating. The selection is really big and you can get something to eat here at any time of the day. Apart from that, the store is beautifully designed and has prayer rooms for brothers and sisters, which is a big plus. Very solid café/restaurant, all in all definitely highly recommended!

It sounds really disappointing when a place you once appreciated no longer offers the same experience as it once did. At a café like Cafe Peri, which was once considered a favorite place, it can be particularly frustrating when service and atmosphere decline. An employee who is unfriendly or not very customer-oriented obviously contributes a lot to making you feel unwelcome. The gentleman at the door (Moha...) gives the customer the feeling of not being noticed... The long wait, especially when you are promised a shorter waiting time, is understandably annoying and seems disorganized. (waited 25 minutes) After the long and unfriendly wait, we decided to leave for the second time in a row. Perhaps direct feedback to management could help describe the problem and make suggestions on how the service could be improved. Sometimes all it takes is a push from customers for management to recognize where improvements are needed. Maybe you should put such unfriendly employees in the back office...or not directly at the reception.

The place is great, the food is delicious, but some of the employees are very rude, sullen and overreacting and have an attitude that I can't understand. It's as if they were forced to work here, they are under pressure, they scold and scold, such an employee does not suit such a place at all. Today, we went to the place because we liked the kumpir very much. We were welcomed very nicely. We were shown to our table very politely. Ms. AYSE, who brought your order, said who is number 3 and table 9D also had kumpir in her hand. We said, "Number 3 is our table. I'm holding it out, who is this?" He scolded us. We couldn't understand. We took what he was holding because of his reaction. But it didn't belong to us. Then we raised our hands again and he ignored us 2 . And for the 3rd time, he finally saw it and came there muttering, "What the heck, what the heck, what the heck". There was too much noise in the place. He scolded us as if he were scolding a 5-year-old child for pointing with a hand gesture. And he came to the table and argued as if he was right. He had a very disrespectful attitude. The only person like that in this place is the one who scolded us. It is a loss of customers. I am saying goodbye to the place we go to every year with 2 of our companies. It was usually one of our first choices with friends. I definitely don't prefer it anymore... While we were talking and adjusting with this kind of voice, the other employees just looked at us and none of them even intervened....

Unfortunately, Café Peri had a blatant glow down when it came to service and price/performance. The employees give me the impression that everyone wants to belong to the Kardashians in terms of attitude and looks. First of all, you have to queue at any time of the day because 1. the seats on the side are blocked 80% of the time and 2. the lady who guides us to the tables is busy getting into position every two minutes to look in the mirror. In general the service is rude. Recently a woman simply kept €2 from me. Also, the portions are really small for the price. The really nice thing about the restaurant/café is the decor and the atmosphere. There are even prayer rooms and very clean toilets downstairs. Just a little loud inside. But all in all, the facility and the friend aren't really worth it. Unfortunately, I get annoyed every time I'm there.

I ate burgers there with my family today and the meat was completely raw. we all have extreme stomach pain and nausea. And the waiting time is always minimal. 45 mins.

I swear, everything was excellent. We ordered a roasted potato, which was very delicious. We spent 3 days in Berlin, two days of which we went to have dinner with them.

Was an absolute disappointment. Food wasn't spectacular and there was a hair in the food...Pide was cold otherwise the rolls were warm. Next door is a shop called “bülent”. It’s worth going there and it tastes really good.

Super large selection of breakfast. Service is very quick, Mesut was the head of the team and helped every single station with passion. Ambient makes you feel at home. Highly recommended and we will go to Peri again.

A large restaurant with food at any time. We had brunch here with a wedding party. There is seating inside and outside. The staff responds quickly unless it's too busy.

We were there for breakfast/brunch, very tasty and very plentiful. Service was very nice and attentive even though it was very busy. The only drawback is that it was steep and quite fresh. Otherwise highly recommended.

Good and tasty food The atmosphere is also really nice Rude Turkish staff mostly even though I always leave a tip (Worst thing in this place) Parking outside is extremely hard and costs around 2-3 Euros per hour if you are lucky to find a spot so I'd recommend coming with public transport.

Great place for breakfast, we made a reservation shortly in advance and were served promptly. A flair, almost like being on holiday in Turkey.

Mega tasty... we came here by chance when the Peri was newly opened and there was so much power thrown at us, the food was so strong in taste... no matter what we ordered from this wide menu, everything was great

Unfortunately, I have to report on my visit to you, which was anything but pleasant. When we arrived, we were initially greeted very friendly by the receptionist. We were assigned a place and were even told that it would be better there with our stroller - so far everything was fine. Shortly afterwards, however, a waiter came and pointed out to us in an extremely unfriendly manner that people couldn't get through because of our stroller. The tone and manner in which we were addressed was anything but professional and hospitable. It's understandable that the location may have been inconvenient, but there's certainly a more polite way to alert guests to something like this. Unfortunately, this experience really spoiled our visit and we definitely won't be going there again.

Even though we went for dinner during the week and it was very busy, the waiters were very professional and friendly. A prayer room was also set up for my Muslim brothers. It was just perfect.

I was recently at Café Peri and unfortunately very disappointed with my visit. The staff was extremely rude and disrespectful. When I didn't immediately return the pen that was used for the Kumpir list, I was asked in an unfriendly tone whether I was “hard of hearing”. I have rarely experienced such disrespect. Despite everything, I was still stupid enough to give a €5 tip - not even a thank you came back. You also had to constantly shout after the staff in order to even be noticed. It's a shame, unfortunately I can't recommend this restaurant.

Update 15.09.2024 Still, in my opinion, it's an overrated place. I ordered baked potato. I hot plenty of foods on top of that like Russian salad, etc. It was not my taste. Old review: Eggs with lamb were not good. There was too much oil on that, I expected a better lamb meat! It was not well cooked, or for another reason, it was hard. I asked for sesame paste, and it was not the same as I tried in another Turkish cafe. I don't know why they offer a place in front of the entrance door while there are plenty of places on the right side!

Personally, I don't find the food very authentic. I'm thinking more of a lot of frozen goods... Service is attentive. I think it's bad that you have to wait in line if you want to eat! At times it is very loud and difficult to have a conversation without getting louder.

Very well-kept, clean, cozy restaurant. Inside you get the impression of being on holiday and outside you can sit comfortably. Unfortunately, the main road is a bit annoying. The toilet room is super clean and pleasant. The restaurant has prayer rooms and associated washrooms. I haven't seen anything like that before. Was very impressed. 👍👍👍

We only ordered desserts. And it was really good. The waiters were polite but not that friendly. I think it was because the cafe was too crowded and they were busy.

I would like to point out that your prices are very high compared to similar establishments. I think this could lead to dissatisfaction among some of your customers. The Peri Burger for €14.90 was very tasty! There could have been a little more fries, and there was also a sachet of ketchup/mayo

I was at Café Peri with my son and wanted to eat something OUTSIDE, because we had our little dog with us (in our bag) we were disrespectfully turned away.

I was just about to have breakfast outside with a friend and my small dog (3 kg) when the staff told me that dogs are not welcome here, even though I wanted to sit outside. This is neither contemporary nor discriminatory for animal and dog lovers. Unnecessary and outdated. I won't eat here again.

Very tasty kumpir. We like to come here to eat a variety of food. Every dish has tasted good so far. But especially the San Sebastian Cheesecake. In addition, the service is always good.

Everything ok, price performance a little too expensive for me

I was last here with my girlfriend and our small children. After our order was served, a short time later, while eating, we noticed a small white worm on the table, we didn't know which plate it had jumped out of and the table was immediately and completely cleared. We received a bill for the entire order, “except for one plate,” said the waitress. No apology, no compensation. I contacted the café via Instagram and received no response. My comments under the posts have been deleted... A disappointment and no way to treat customers like that.

I really don't understand why the store is still running.

The food quality at this restaurant is outstanding, and the staff are both friendly and professional. The prices are very reasonable, making it an excellent value. While there are many more luxurious Turkish restaurants in Berlin, none compare to this one. No matter what you choose—whether it's breakfast, meats, side dishes, desserts, or Turkish coffee—everything is consistently excellent.

Very nice decor and very nice outside seating. The service begins at the entrance, where a receptionist leads someone to their seat. You get served quickly and don't have to wait forever. The food was delicious. Unfortunately the ambience is disturbed by the noise of the main street and some speeders.

My husband invited me to this cafe. He knows where the best food is in Berlin. The food here is delicious and the service is top notch. I was very impressed and would highly recommend this cafe. I will definitely come again

Very disappointing that there are still anti-dog restaurants. Understandable inside - but outside!? Went all the way there just to not be allowed in or “just leave the dog outside”.

Very good service, fast, attentive. Great tea and coffee. We got the Menemen and the Potato+Mushroom Omelette, everything was super good. Price-value for money is amazing. Would come back again.

The one colleague who welcomed the people yesterday (chestnut brown hair long) should be careful where she gossips about the customers and how!!!! As a regular customer, I never actually experienced something like that, but she really ruined the whole evening! She felt right that she was allowed to work at the reception, since she usually waits as a waiter 😂😂

There were two of us here, you can sit nicely on the outside terrace, our mistake was that we ordered breakfast, a dry croissant, a small jar of yoghurt and 2 jams, it wasn't great and it cost €17, I can't recommend it .

Delicious Turkish breakfast! I had the Menemen menu - was very tasty. The Simit was also fresh and delicious. Unfortunately, Turkish mocha was not available that day, but the cappuccino was also good. Service was courteous and friendly and it was very pleasant to sit outside. Gladly again!

The food tastes good here and the ambience is also very nice. However, you are completely ignored by the waiters here. The older lady with black hair “served” us, we already knew her name but I won’t mention it, we had to take care of ourselves so that we could finally order. Whenever you tried to call her or tell her that you would like something more to drink, she deliberately ignored you and simply walked past us. Very unprofessional. But dear Dilara took care of it. The food is not served at the same time, but two people get their food and the other person can wait another 10 minutes. We don't go here anymore despite the good food.

Food was ok but expensive for the quality. Unfortunately the service was bad, Mhiriban often ignored us even though we spoke to her directly and said we wanted to drink/eat something. She gave us one look and she was gone. The ambience is nice and the service Dilara is worth her weight in gold!

Very nice restaurant with really nice furnishings - you immediately feel at home here. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, I haven't had such good service in a restaurant for a long time. The prices were also very reasonable. Unfortunately, the food was rather lukewarm and lacked seasoning (soup and manti). But I'll definitely come back for a friend and a delicious dessert :)

One of the worst services I've ever experienced. Be prepared to wait 30 minutes just to be noticed to order, another 30 minutes for each request to be fulfilled, and another 30 minutes for the tea to be delivered. The waitstaff are extremely rude and impolite. As customers, and as Arabs, we felt highly disrespected.

My family has been visiting Café Peri regularly for over 10 years, but my last visit and the treatment from waitress Esra was so disappointing that I will never return. Never in my life would I have expected to be discriminated against because of my religion in a cafe that I valued for years for the opportunity to pray there. As soon as you entered the cafe, the music was so loud that it felt like a disco and not a cafe. I asked the waitress (Esra) with a smile (!!!) if they could turn the music down A LITTLE because it was hard to have a conversation. She looked at me and, looking at my headscarf, said, "You may not listen to music, but this is a café." Her tone was disrespectful and condescending. Who gives her the right to call me while I call her? This is not how you treat customers or your fellow human beings. I only asked that the volume be turned down a bit, not that the music in the cafe be turned off. Luckily, another employee heard our conversation and immediately offered to turn down the music. But this friendliness was immediately dashed by Esra when we asked if we could sit outside. She replied flippantly: "If so, then you wait two hours and the kitchen then closes," as if she just wanted to get rid of us. I left the cafe that day feeling so disappointed! This treatment upset not only me but also 20 other regulars so much that we will avoid the café in the future. I hope management takes such incidents seriously and ensures that staff are trained.

We wanted to sit outside as a large group; there were also seats because it was warm They said there weren't any seats outside and there was a very strong smell of perfume inside that really bothered us. We wanted another table and we didn't get it Afterwards, when we were paying, the waitress knew that we had three buddies and a salad…….and despite that, she said that we hadn't paid for one, even though she listed it herself and was sure, she kept insisting that one was missing and that she had one She brought three, she got the money and still counted one was missing 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ Then she clarified it with the kitchen 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

An amazing place. Everything is delicious. We came from the Netherlands. There is no such place in the Netherlands. It was truly perfect. We loved the concept. It didn't look like Turkey. There are separate ablution facilities and masjids for men and women. Everything is clean. I highly recommend it to anyone who goes to Berlin.

Slow service but overall nice food would recommend

Reine verarsche, Man bekommt etwas anderes als bestellt, beschwert sich darüber, gibt den eigentlichen eine Chance es wieder gut zu machen, aber statt dessen wird mit einem diskutiert und man muss für deren Verschulden zahlen, ohne das man eine Entschuldigung kriegt. Dann läuft man erstmal durch den Laden mit dem Teller, um abzusprechen, was man dazu sagt, wie man den Kunden verarschen kann, ekelhaft. Der Teller wurde von mir weggeschickt und fresse gezogen hat die Kellnerin, weil es kein Cent Trinkgeld gab.

The restaurant is nice but the receptionist is very bad. In my opinion, she should go to school first to learn some manners when dealing with others.
