Unfortunately, since the restaurant was handed over to the younger generation, the fries have often been reheated twice. This doesn't taste good, and for the price, it's a disgrace.

I claim, as a former child of Berlin-Neukölln, to be very knowledgeable about kebabs, particularly due to my Turkish heritage, traditions, and culture, even though kebabs in Turkey represent a completely different side. But to sum it up, the two "large" kebabs on baguettes, with the typical sauces that you ordered, were not typical at all; they tasted homemade and delicious, and all our special requests were accommodated! To maximize our first order, we ordered different kebabs (veal and chicken) with different sauces. Overall, it was a delight with the right portion of meat, baguette, salad, and sauce—and yes, there was a lot of sauce—because I had specified it as an extra request. I'm a sauce lover, and I was not disappointed! The kebabs tasted like they were from the 90s—simply authentic and delicious, without any innovative experiments! I also ordered fries, and I'm very critical about them. As an extra request, I specified "not too dark," and the fries were fantastic: nice and light, yet crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and just the right amount of seasoning without needing to add any more! We devoured the fries! As the final, crucial exercise to test whether this place could become our new regular, we ordered the mixed grill platter: all kinds of meat, all delicious with rice and salad; it was a treat for the palate! The great thing about ordering online is that you at least have the option of removing ingredients you don't like or are allergic to! Yes, this place will be my new regular, and I have thanked them so much, both by phone and via the Uber Eats rating system, on behalf of the Meinert family! I will be ordering more often, showing my support, and hope that this place will be around for a long time! Yorkstraße kebabs were only known for their generous portions, as they were all similar back then. I've asked my new regular shop to please continue preparing such generous portions, because this leaves its mark, just like the many other things I've already written about, which were also super delicious! Thanks to the kitchen! P.S. Unfortunately, no photos. We pounced on them like starving wolves; the taste was so intoxicating that we'd better keep the after-photos to ourselves :D

Service. +++++ Berlin service, compared to other capital cities, is poor, but Café Palais is the place for other restaurants to learn from. The staff are friendly, down-to-earth, and very fast. You don't see that often! Example. They forgot a kebab, called us immediately, and let us know before the delivery arrived. The owner delivered the kebab himself! 3 minutes after our original delivery arrived! Simply great!!

The best chicken doner kebab with fried vegetables I've had in the greater Berlin-Spandau area so far (and I've tried many places). It's extremely delicious and tops the list by a wide margin. Even after our move, we still go here despite the long distance. The garlic sauce is delicious, and they don't skimp on it. The vegetables are also plentiful and varied, with zucchini, carrots, and potato wedges. Be sure to try it; the service is very friendly. Thumbs up and 5 stars!

The guys behind the bar are fantastic! They're incredibly friendly, laid-back, customer-oriented, and they prepare excellent food! You feel like you're at a friends' bar, it's truly an art form. Great guys! The food was really good and the conversations were pleasant! Keep it up! Plus, everything was fresh and the sauces were great. Don't change that! I'd suggest changing the name from "caffe" to "kebab" or something, but that's up to you. I'll definitely be stopping by with my wife when I'm in the Berlin area. I recommend it to everyone!

The food wasn't tasty, as I don't like much meat. My mother told me otherwise. Nevertheless, they put a lot of meat on the kebab, which is why the service only gets one star because the customer is king.

The doner meat is good. It's mostly ground beef. The salad is a typical mix like any other. The burgers turned out very well. Their own meat, nothing pre-pressed. The fries are good. The sauces are good. The garlic sauce has improved a lot. March 2024 The better doner kebab in the area Due to the price increase, like all other shops, I'm cutting down my visits here a bit, as only the prices have increased. Otherwise, there's been a big visual change; it looks more modern. (Addendum March 2024: Prices are more stable than at the competition. Due to the improvement in quality and service, it's legitimate.)

I've lived in Berlin's Spandau district for 15 years, and I have to say this place is truly one of the best I've ever experienced. The staff is super friendly, and the owner is also incredibly personable and kind. A BIG doner kebab for €8 can easily feed two adults. The price/performance ratio is also very good these days. I highly recommend it; it's a new favorite.

We had a very unpleasant situation. Our child was sitting at the slot machine, but he was very polite - he was just looking at what it was (we were at the table). I think the owner came and pulled my child out by force. She only had to say something and the child would go by himself. Awful behavior. The kebab was average, neither good nor bad. The atmosphere was like in a cheap bar. I do not recommend

The hottest and best kebab in all of Berlin

I've been coming to Cafe Palais every now and then since 1999 and have tried a variety of dishes, from doner kebabs to kofte, Adana kebabs, and even saç kebabs, and I haven't been disappointed to this day, May 2025. Today's saç kebab was beautifully presented, filling, and most importantly, delicious! If you're looking to try something other than doner kebabs, I highly recommend it.

Was at Cafe Palais last night and have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. Very, very nice employees. I took mixed meat, normal and chicken, both were very tasty. Personally, I actually liked chicken better. The chicken was very juicy and the fried vegetables gave it a certain kick. Gladly again!! Absolute recommendation!

Good (veg) kebab with halloumi cheese. A bit cramped in the entrance area, but behind it you can sit comfortably. Often busy - that means it's good!

Yesterday I was away at the Olympic Stadium with my group. We picked this place a few days before the tour to grab something to eat after the game and we weren't disappointed. Price-performance is great, the food tastes very tasty, the ambience is small but has a very relaxed vibe. Even as a larger group you can sit together there without any problems. The service was great, the guys were in a really good mood. At the end we got Balkava in our hand. Delicious. The store is an absolute recommendation!

Great kebab shop. Service is great, always friendly, food no matter what you order, everything tastes great. Child friendly, wheelchair accessible. In the cold season you should dress warmly as the door is always open. Whether at the front or behind the door, it drafts and is cold. It should be renamed Eispalai. Unfortunately, as a regular visitor you won't be considered as crowded anymore taken like guests who only come by sporadically.

I can't understand the many 5-star reviews. Although it has been partially renovated, the ambience is cool. Too little light, therefore rather uncomfortable. The outside area was also nicer. Prices have risen and portions have become smaller. Döner plate could be presented more beautifully The slot machines are annoying. It's always been like that. So these don't belong in a restaurant. The impression arose that the drinkers from the former WhopperImbiss across the street were now here. It was loud. And the waiter asked this group to be a little quieter, which was met with anger and complaining. It didn't get any quieter. It was also a bit cold in the store, which made it even more uncomfortable. The friendliness has also decreased. Only the owner is nice and he is a kebab cutter. The newer employees are no longer what the old ones were. You felt welcome there. Now rather annoying. If there is any kebab at all, then somewhere else. There are more pleasant shops nearby. We used to be regular guests at the Palais, but certainly not anymore. It's a shame. Especially since the prices for kebabs are quite high. It's not worth it. But applies to all kebab shops. For that money I can get a meal at McDonald's or Burger King. Or a meal at the Asian snack bar, which even fills you up. Sorry Palace.
