Café Nordpol in Kassel

We stopped here for a light lunch and received a warm welcome. The café is beautifully decorated, and the fireplace is very inviting. Both the selection of dishes and the taste are highly recommended. The wonderful staff completes the experience.

Café Nordpol is a place steeped in tradition. It's located near the university. If you're studying at HoPla, you'll often find yourself stopping by for a meal – and that's a big part of your student days. The atmosphere is very inviting. We recently ate there again. I opted for the mixed grill – it was generously filled and more than reasonably priced. The food was fresh and delicious, and the service was friendly as always. In the past, the Unibuch bookstore, located right near Café Nordpol, sold coffee chips that you could use to get a coffee there. In short: It's a lovely place, and you always enjoy coming back – even if you just want to reminisce about your student days.

You can enjoy a wonderful à la carte breakfast (with a wide selection) until 3 pm during the week and until 4 pm on weekends... just what I like 😁

We had a North Pole platter for four people, as well as a fried egg and scrambled egg. The portions were large and delicious, and the prices were reasonable. We would definitely recommend it.

Café Nordpol in Kassel is simply unbeatable. The breakfast is always fresh, lovingly prepared, and an absolute highlight in terms of taste. The hot dishes are also excellent, perfectly seasoned, prepared with high-quality ingredients, and a delight every time. We love going to Café Nordpol. They also now have the most delicious matcha. 😋

We were a little scared at the beginning because there were a lot of dishes on the menu but we ordered three very different things and all were very tasty. The service was also top.

The food was okay, but nothing special. I was just disappointed with the service; they didn't even come over to ask if we wanted something to drink. Even when we wanted to pay, we had to go to the front of the counter. Unfortunately, they weren't able to make a single-egg scramble for our 2.5-year-old daughter. You can only order what's on the menu, and that comes with three eggs. Flexibility is a foreign concept. A shame.

A wide selection of dishes. As a group, we easily got a large table during the week. Service was prompt, competent, and friendly. Everyone was satisfied or very satisfied with their food.

A little "insider tip": the food was truly delicious. The light, subtle music was very pleasant! Very friendly service! There could be some improvement here, with an additional waiter, which would speed up the ordering process a bit! All in all, highly recommended!

Delicious breakfast always happy to go there

I know the breakfast here is supposed to be the best, but I still ordered something hot that day. The rice pan tasted absolutely delicious. The only thing I could complain about was the incredibly persistent burnt smell from the kitchen, which permeated the entire restaurant.

Very nice ambiance, really cozy and tastefully decorated. The breakfast plate was a dream! Everything was fresh, super delicious, and beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the service wasn't quite up to scratch. Empty glasses were overlooked, and it took forever for someone to ask if I wanted something else to drink. I was almost dying of thirst 😅 Still: great food, great atmosphere, I would definitely come back!

Rubbish, things have gotten so much worse in recent times. I'll never eat there again. The cutlery stank, the food was cold, and I had to wait half an hour for the waitress to come to pay.

We've been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the afternoon. Every time the food was really tasty, the service was very friendly and the waiting time was almost non-existent. Requests are taken into account. We have been here for the 4th time and it is always great!

Very good breakfast, nice service and a good price/performance ratio. A bit noisy, despite sound insulation on the ceilings, and the restaurant is no longer as colorfully decorated as it used to be. But the breakfast is still almost as good as it was 25 years ago ;-).

Very great location with very nice staff. Outstanding price-performance ratio. You get a huge breakfast here that will keep you full for the entire tab for under €15. However, you should definitely make a reservation. We were there on Monday and wouldn't have been able to get a table without a reservation. We'd love to come back next time we're in Kassel.

Unfortunately the visit was not convincing. The baguette was too dry and the wait to order was quite long. The cutlery could also have been cleaner. Overall not really recommended.

The breakfast is good. But the volume on a Saturday morning was unbearable. You can only have a very limited conversation across the table. It's really tight when all the tables are occupied. Employees and guests sometimes have to squeeze through.

The five of us had breakfast with all the bells and whistles, each a different one. We were all extremely satisfied. Pleasant atmosphere, very friendly service and reasonable value for money. Gladly again.

Super friendly staff and incredibly delicious pasta

We were looking forward to a lovely evening with six people, but unfortunately our expectations were disappointed. The food was staggered and the main courses came at the same time as the starters, so the main course was cold. When I mentioned this to the boss, he reacted very unprofessionally and said that something like this was normal in the catering industry. It is absolutely unprofessional how paying guests are treated here. The customer is definitely not king in this restaurant.

There is currently a large construction site all along the street surrounding the cafe/restaurant. (Attention: few free parking spaces in the immediate vicinity). The construction noise makes it a bit uncomfortable outside. Otherwise, it's nice to sit under beautiful, large trees, in the shade in the morning. Very pleasant! The service staff are very attentive and friendly and not intrusive. Our breakfast came to the table pretty quickly, fresh and tasty. But the store was only ¼ full. Some of the fruits on the plate were rather bland to mealy. The requirements for the rolls and the rolls themselves were completely fine. Total The facility is a bit old but still OK. The toilets were clean and not disgusting (as is the case in some places). There is a changing table under the stairs, accessible to all guardians, outside the toilet rooms. The breakfast variations are priced between approx. 7-15€. A hot drink then costs another €3-5. We had a leisurely breakfast for about €40 for two and spent two hours there. Gladly again!
