The best cappuccino in a long time, delicious rolls and a feel-good atmosphere with lounge music, including very friendly service. Everything was great and a clear recommendation 😊

The place truly doesn’t deserve its 4.6 rating. They make good coffees and are polite. Maybe cakes are good, but I didn’t try. But: 1) they’re shortstaffed. One lady reasonably struggles to wait all the tables. Waiting times to be served are ridiculous 2) they’ve served eggs florentine with a hollandaise that didn’t thicken. The sauce is really make or break of the dish, and it is obvious for anyone that if it didn’t thicken - well, you throw it away and make new. What Cafe Hegel did, they poured mix of yolk and butter over eggs and bread and served. When pointed out, they didn’t argue, I paid for drinks and left. Offering to take drinks on the house as a way to apologize could be nice, but they didn’t. Sad I had to wait for so long to be served improperly prepared breakfast. So tl;dr: might be okay for coffees, but avoid if looking for a breakfast place.

You need to make a reservation in advance, it is a restaurant with a nice atmosphere, the prices are moderate, we ordered scrambled eggs and Greek style scrambled eggs for breakfast, the eggs were good, the sauces on the vegetables next to them were sweet and different in our opinion. Their bread was good, we as a family were satisfied.

Good breakfast, some options for vegetarians too. Central, service ok, could be faster and more effective. Nice atmosphere right next to Hegel's birthplace. This is also a museum worth seeing if you like philosophy, so why not start with a philosopher's breakfast.

I met up with an old friend there who I hadn't seen for a long time. This meeting was even nicer because not only our conversation but also the food in the restaurant was excellent. Particularly nice with a glass of rosé from Kessler. Everything was great 👍

The food was ok overall but it’s just cheeses and ham , nothing was cooked expect of egg which was overcooked. Portion was generous and good selection of cheese and ham though. However , service was not welcoming at all.

Ate crispy chicken rolls... hunger got the better of you... cappuccino was lukewarm and tasted okay Service was very nice. Was the first and last times here. To be honest, how the 4.5 stars came together is a mystery to me. Conclusion 21, 80 was way too expensive

First impressions can be deceiving. Maybe it's the time, but the sandwich wasn't really as fresh as I expect it to be at this level. The cappuccino was a little more than lukewarm. Conclusion: I don't have to come here again. They certainly won't miss the good things about me.

Had delicious cake and chai latte. Food-wise it was okay, so-so. On the weekend, however, it was very crowded and a bit chaotic, with hardly any free seats available. Service was impeccable. At that time, it was temporarily not possible to pay by card at the counter to take away the cakes/tarts.

First things first: cake was fine. But service was very short. You had to ask if you could order something. Coffee came after 15 minutes, cake only another 10 minutes later. Seats were only half full, so not much going on. Priced at a very high level. Some tables were not cleared or were still dirty. Not inviting. So there are much better cafes in a comparable location. It's a shame actually.

We were very disappointed with the ambience! I had reserved and asked for a nice table because it was my husband's birthday that day and we always choose a nice location for breakfast every year. The distance between all tables is approximately one D4 side! Therefore private entertainment is not possible. We were also unlucky that the couple next to us was very loud! We heard every syllable of their conversation. Half of the tables would definitely have to be removed, then it would be great to have breakfast there. The food was okay with some sand in my side salad that I couldn't eat. For €50 for a breakfast for two, we expect more. The service was very nice.

It was my first time in this lovely cafe and I had high hopes for it as the reviews were very good. I really like it, but the tables are extremely close together, so you can easily hear the conversations of the people at the tables on the left and right, which isn't so pleasant. In addition, the noise level is also very high. The croissant we ordered was great, but the pumpkin spice latte was just milk with spice syrup, no trace of pumpkin. The waitress who I pointed out had no idea about it and wanted to help, but didn't know what to do with the fact that pumpkin puree belonged here. A no-go for the price, which was a shame.

This facility is rightly very popular - but unfortunately the same error can often be observed no room dividers, but far too many tables in the available space. This means that the volume is very high and you can't understand your own words. The ambience suffers greatly as a result.

I visited this wonderful café today and was immediately impressed! The selection of cakes and patisserie is simply fantastic – every bite is a delight. The service was super friendly and attentive, which made the visit even more pleasant. The ambience is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing break. I highly recommend this cafe.

Good cappuccino, but unfortunately we had to wait a little long for service, which bothered us a little, but the price/performance ratio is okay.

I made a reservation online, we arrived and NO ONE registered us for almost 10 minutes, even though we were standing at the entrance and waiting. There were easily 5-6 women/waitresses there and everyone just walked past (and walked past relaxed, no one was stressed) and you couldn't speak to anyone. It was well filled, yes, but nothing justifies such service and unfriendly behavior. I've really never experienced this anywhere. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food because the way it was there made me so angry that we left. Never again.

The coffee was burnt and no flavor at all

I went in at 7:10pm but no one looked after me until 7:45pm when I was finally told to leave. The waiter accused me of not greeting him when he entered.

It was one of the best breakfast and brunch places in Stuttgart. The food is excellent, and the service is also excellent. Interior is nice. Overall, it was a very good place. Recommended. Update New York Bagel is amazing.

Good coffee and very good bee sting

Not what I expected. Service was too slow and not very polite. The chocolate cake was not tasty and the “APPLE PIE” was just ok. Positive notes, the atmosphere and the cappuccino.

If you find yourself in the centre of Stuttgart at the Rathaus Ubahn then this cafe is a must. Amazing indoor seating area as well as outdoor seating. For myself as a Canadian living in Stuttgart, sitting outside Cafe Hegel is exactly what the image in my head was of enjoying an outdoor espresso in Europe. I come from Victoria BC on Vancouver Island on the far west coast of Canada. We have a huge coffee culture and the coffee here ticks all the boxes for me. I live in Möhringen and come for the coffee, location and friendly staff.

Panini tasted like cardboard, hardly any tomatoes or pesto and too expensive for that. The courtyard is not a nice place to sit.

Finally a nice, modern German (!) café, which are unfortunately all dying out at the moment due to legal over-regulation. The “Perfect Egg Bagel” was really delicious, as was the cappuccino. Service was friendly, the interior was very attractive and brightly furnished. It's fun to watch people walk by and relax on the bench inside. Only the price was steep. For the bagel 13.80 euros, the large cappuccino 6.30 euros, 50 cents extra for the lactose-free milk. Soon you won't be able to afford to eat out anymore. But it is still important to me to save the few German cafes. The entire city center doesn't have to consist solely of kebab shops.

Unfortunately I didn't quite understand the chips on the bagel. Otherwise everything was great!

I had the Greek scrambled eggs and a cappuccino. Both tasted very good. In general there is a large selection, including cakes. I think the atmosphere is nice. Service nice. Would love to come back

A perfect start to the day! I had breakfast at the Hegel Bakery this morning – and it was simply fantastic! The selection of fresh rolls, croissants and sweet pastries was huge, and everything tasted delicious. I was particularly impressed by the coffee, which was perfectly prepared. The breakfast was also absolutely reasonable in terms of price – great quality at a fair price! The service was friendly and attentive, you felt really comfortable. If you want to start the day with a really delicious breakfast, this is the right place for you! I'll definitely be back.

Today I was there at Hegel and I can only say it is the best of the best. Top service, top food, nice atmosphere and there is something for everyone. We'll definitely be back!!

Location great. The outdoor area could be designed a little more lovingly. Price performance ratio is not right for me. €5.20 for a half-thawed cake is definitely overkill! Service itself was super nice - but despite the lack of visitors, everything was only done upon request.

Unfortunately, the egg from my Eggs Benedict was cold and no longer liquid.

The waiters made us sit for over half an hour before we were served. Despite repeated requests, they always just said, “Someone will come to you shortly.” In the end we had to wait for over half an hour, even though the café wasn't even full. Later we received the wrong food (and so did three other tables) and when we said that we had ordered something different than what was brought to us, the waiter reacted extremely rudely. The breakfast itself (eggs Benedict and omelette) were cold and didn't taste good at all. And that with the prices!! Especially when a new café/restaurant opens, you should make an effort, especially since there are so many other options for a great breakfast in Stuttgart. There's no way we'll go there a second time!

We had a very tasty and extensive breakfast at Cafe Hegel. The espresso was extremely tasty and perfectly extracted. The breakfast plates were high quality and wonderfully prepared. Unfortunately, the service was very stressful this Saturday. We give credit to the employees for being friendly at all times and taking their time despite this. But it was noticeable that one or two more service staff would be necessary. The atmosphere is cozy, modern and clean. If you're looking for a delicious breakfast in Stuttgart, Cafe Hegel is definitely the right place for you. 👍

We waited in vain for 20 minutes for service and had to ask several times to finally get paid. The Freddo Matcha Latte is absolutely not recommended and all warm lattes are only available until 3 p.m., which you will only be told on site. NO RECOMMENDATION...

I visited the place for a dessert & coffee. With baking experience over 10 years, I loved the flan parisien (esp the combination of buttery crust and tender creamy filling). Coffee was pretty good, not the best, but over an average, which is still a pros. The interior was amazing and I liked the layout of the cafe with tables next to the window. Overall, I had a good impression of the place, and staff were friendly. Would love to come again for a cup of coffee and dessert.

A beautiful place to have breakfast, the atmosphere is very cozy and also inviting. Unfortunately I had to deduct a few stars because our order wasn't correct. I ordered a wholemeal bread and was asked again what kind of bread I would eat, to which I answered wholemeal bread and unfortunately I was given a light farmer's bread. After asking if this is the right one and not for another table. So the service person said no and said that was the right thing to do. We also found eggshells in the scrambled eggs, which weren't that appetizing. We'd love to come back because the food was still very tasty.

Very good spot for brunch! A good selection of very tasty dishes, sweet and salty! The Hegel salad is highly recommended - a great choice if you can't decide between savory and sweet. There is also a large selection of different baked goods as well as cakes and tarts!

Great coffee and raspberry cake

We went for a café drink and chose a panini. The waitress took forever to serve us even though there wasn't much going on. The cafe is very dirty. There is dirt and grime in the corners and everywhere. Some stains on the upholstery. The cappuccino itself was warm and good, the panini (6.20 euros), on the other hand, had no special taste and was just a slice of cheese and a slice of sausage. Price performance was definitely too expensive! Unfortunately we will not visit or recommend it again.

We went to Café Hegel for breakfast on a Wednesday morning and unfortunately had to wait a long time, even though it wasn't particularly busy. The breakfast looked very appealing at first glance - as we all know, the eye eats with us. Unfortunately, the pancakes and scrambled eggs were not warm when they were served. The taste was also not convincing: the pancakes were dry and the scrambled eggs were pretty bland. It's a shame, because the atmosphere is actually quite cozy and the location is great.

Today I found this place for pancakes and visited. It has a good variety for breakfast. The pancakes were too good. I also tried a cold chai latte but its was not good as I was expecting. The portions were large and the food was so fresh.

Scan the QR code - click away from the popup - skip the advertising page - confirm the cookie popup - and then I finally get to the confusing map... Why??? You had great tickets???

I unfortunately have to share a disappointing experience at Café Hegel. We were very dissatisfied with our visit as we had to wait over an hour for our breakfast. When the food finally arrived, we noticed that one of the sandwiches was wrong and a vegetarian sandwich was served instead of the version we ordered. We decided not to say anything and hoped for an easy payment. When we paid, we raised the problem and were offered a coffee on the house as compensation. Unfortunately, this small consolation cannot make up for the long waiting time and poor service. It's a shame because everything looked so great in the pictures and the food was actually delicious. But due to the long waiting times and poor service, I won't come here again.

Unfortunately the breakfast was an absolute failure. The price-performance ratio simply doesn't fit at all. We ordered the Eggs Florentine; The bread was far too sweet, the spinach as well, and the hollandaise sauce tasted like nothing. The only thing that was very good was the coffee. I wouldn't come here for breakfast again. Additionally, the service was slow and inattentive.

We had breakfast at Café Hegel. We had to wait forever before we were even served. I had a salmon bagel, a cafe and a water. My friends also had a bagel. I had eaten 2 bites of the salmon bagel. When a huge slug appeared. I went straight to the counter because the slug was already moving away. I then said that I wasn't paying for the bagel and that I didn't want to eat anything here anymore. At first it was said that we had to pay for everything. After a long discussion, we didn't have to pay for our bagels. However, we had to pay for the drinks. I found it disgraceful that there wasn't a single apology!! Definitely won't be going here again.

When we arrived we had to wait 20 minutes to order, our cafes arrived about 40 minutes later and our food arrived an hour after ordering. Even though I ordered without bacon, it came with bacon and they took it back to the kitchen, took it out and gave it to me with small ones Pieces were given back. Food was cold and had a LOT of lifeless greens.

I visited the cafe twice within a week and experienced poor service each time. The first time I thought to myself that the wrong order that the unfriendly waiter brought me after a long wait was due to the busyness of the café. However, when I heard a disappointed customer at the next table complaining about her cold waffle and the service showed absolutely no understanding about it, I was shocked at how customers were treated here. When I wanted to give the café another chance today, I was served by an extremely unfriendly waitress. This repeatedly brought incorrect orders to the table after 50 minutes of waiting. When we pointed this out to her, she said that we had placed the order like that, so we should think about whether we wanted to cancel the meal and go eat somewhere else. Waiters are only human and can make mistakes and an order can be delayed, but the employee should try to maintain a friendly relationship with the customer. Unfortunately, I didn't notice this at Café Hegel.

My girlfriend and I ordered two Greek omelettes and drinks today. The food only came after a whopping 50 minute wait and when it came it was just an omelet and the wrong dish, also without any apology for the wait from the waitress. When we pointed out the mistake, she disappeared and when she came back she told us that we had ordered it that way from her. However, we insisted and she then said that the other thing would still be done. I then asked how long it would take since we had been waiting for an hour. The waitress snorted “that definitely wasn’t an hour” and that the food would be ready soon. We were really speechless. My friend then said that we didn't want to wait that long again because we were hungry and we were told that she could simply cancel the omelette if we didn't want it. The second omelette came quickly and tasted good, but we were rarely treated so rudely. It's one thing to get neither an apology for a total of an hour's wait nor for the wrong food, but the fact that the mistakes were then denied and to treat us so disrespectfully is just audacious. Another new guest next to us even decided to leave after watching this spectacle. It's a shame, it has really good food and a nice interior, but we and our friends definitely won't visit Cafe Hegel anymore.

We went in and there was only one person working. He didn't come to us either. We waited a long time, I think we waited 10 minutes. Nobody cared, we left, the service was zero, it's definitely a place you shouldn't go. I can't comment on the food as we couldn't eat there.
