They don't speak Spanish, the waiters treat you badly and they spit on the Salsa. Bad service.

The food is extensively hot and shouldn’t be eaten by starters I got a taco and it was so hot that I got a stomach e ache and I wouldn’t recommend it nothing was written on the menu not even on the daily card so I think it should be added so that you know I needed to throw my food away it was very expensive 14€ is a little bit overpriced. The service woman was very unfriendly and was rude I wouldn’t come back here or recommend that

The food was way too spicy even though we specifically ordered non-spicy food. Unfortunately it was not edible. I vomited after 2 bites and battled severe stomach pain and nausea. Unfortunately not recommended... and when we asked the staff about it, they said tastes are different, which is true, but not exactly. Don't come back.

The food and also the homemade drinks are very good. Overall, the restaurant also has a really nice ambience. The tables are very small - but you can manage with the space. The service is attentive and usually very quick. But: from around 9 p.m. the music is turned up massively - there's definitely a party atmosphere then, which some people might like. But I would still like to be able to have a conversation. Today it was so extremely loud that we had to shout at each other. We then left the restaurant immediately after eating and had dessert and other drinks in another location - a shame - such a great restaurant with good food and then you ruin the business yourself. The waiter was also very annoyed by the noise and sometimes didn't understand the orders at the next table. A little less loud would be great - it would still maintain the atmosphere. 3 stars because of the really good food and good service.

This place isn’t really worth it. The drinks were not very good. I ordered a mango margarita and it tasted like orange juice, then next round was too bitter of a classic margarita. The chimichanga tastes like it’s covered marinara sauce. It’s just too over priced for lack of quality. Again drinks are not great and small & pricey.

Mega hyggeligt sted med super lækkert meximad. Til trods for et stort menukort, så var de retter, som vi fik, rigtig lækre og veltilberedt. Derudover blev der serveret skønne mexi drinks - som også fået i kander. Præcis som det skal være. Personalet var super søde og hjælpsomme til trods for stor travlhed.

Reserve online, oh well!! Unfortunately no one ever responds to the reservation so you have to call every time to make sure you get a table! Food good so far. Except the beans!! Defensively, this has nothing to do with a fresh product and is then warmed up in the microwave. You really can't eat that. Service is very friendly

Food is good. Price is right. Service is good.

The restaurant is large and has a good atmosphere. Even if many tables are occupied, it doesn't get too loud. The waitresses were all very polite and quick. There is a selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes and cheese could easily be ordered down. The taste of the food was very good but a bit too expensive at €18 for the portion. The cocktails were also rather expensive. We recommend the beer in the pitcher, which at €15 for 1.5 liters is a much better price-performance ratio. The pitcher comes with several glasses and is good for sharing. The toilets are in the basement and can only be reached via stairs. The cabins are very narrow. There is a changing table in the hallway in front of the toilets.

Delicious Mexican spicy dishes and also delicious (non-alcoholic) cocktails. Nice music. You can have a nice date/evening there and try something new. The prices are a bit overpriced for the non-alcoholic cocktails.

We like to go to your restaurant very often. The food was good as ALMOST always. Today I wanted to try a cocktail instead of a beer, it was supposed to be pina colada, a normal glass for €10.40, I tried it, and what can I say, pure water, just ice cubes, it was extremely cold, It didn't taste like anything, so I told the waiter, he brought it back and brought me a new one?? I can't say, but there's no difference whatsoever. I then took out all the ice cubes, there were a whopping 12 in the small glass. Everything was out and there was not even a half-full glass of liquid in it. It was pretty watered down because it took a while until I got all the ice cubes out. I have to say, it was just 20 degrees outside and not 35 degrees, which would have justified the really cold drink. In my opinion that was PURE TRIP. Next time I'll order another drink where you shouldn't put ice cubes in it anyway. At least I know what I'm drinking.

Service staff overwhelmed on weekends. But still friendly...

We had to wait 1 hour for our food because the receipt machine was apparently broken and didn't print any orders. The worst thing, however, was that instead of the vegan burger I ordered, they brought me the meat version and I ate it!!!! Seriously? And then there was the comment from service that I should have noticed that in terms of taste... of course, since vegetarian products today wouldn't taste similar to meat. And under a layer of cheese you certainly can't tell whether it's meat or not. I would just like to puke it all up again if I could... never again!!!

Still so good! I introduced this restaurant to my boyfriend from Paris and he loved it! We don't speak German very well but the waiters tried hard in English to understand us even if it wasn't perfect it was very nice of them to go to such trouble! Great welcome and excellent food as usual!

That was a disgrace. Our orders have been forgotten so often that we quickly forget about this establishment. The service was not only rude but also absolutely incompetent. From the moment we sat down at the table in the restaurant everything went wrong. Even the promised apple spritzer compensation was forgotten. Great job :)

I don't understand the positive reviews of the food given the poor quality + bad taste. The food is bad in color and taste and certainly not fresh. I suspect finished products made from buckets and packets...... combined with these high prices are absolutely not recommended. The nice waitresses are a bright spot. Very unfortunate and disappointing.

Mexican cuisine basically offers more than we Germans expect. But what you expect from a Mexican in Germany is fulfilled here. The staff was very friendly, the waiting time was ok. It tasted very good.

There’s nothing authentic about it. I was born and raised in Mexico and there’s nothing authentic or good about the food. It was lacking authenticity and flavor. It’s like whoever created the menu didn’t try and just took what they thought Mexican food was and did it, without ever tasting any. Overpriced for the quality of the food.

I have nothing to complain about. Great scene restaurant, great service. The only thing is that the specification Scharf is very much based on the “European” Scharf. Anyone who likes original Mecikan spicy will be a little disappointed. Otherwise everything is Tippitopi.

Rating: 4.75/5 Here the special beer you should try is Taquila Beer 🍻. I tried pitcher once, later in a week I tried it 3 more times. That how the taste of beer here, also with the beer they have given mexican nachos with tomato chutney. Perfect combination!! Music is also so good, great party collection.

The Mexican restaurant offered an authentic taste experience with excellent food, starting with the free red tortilla chips. The service was friendly and knowledgeable, which made the visit particularly enjoyable. A truly delicious stop not to be missed.

Regulars of the restaurant, we go there as much for lunch as for dinner. Frame totally in the spirit of the place. Lots of choice on the menu (there's even a French version). I love pollo picante! A delight 😊 and the dishes are very generous. The service is generally very friendly.

What should be particularly emphasized is that the employees were always very friendly, attentive and courteous, even though the restaurant was fully booked. Unfortunately, they have drastically increased their prices. We all know that the economy took a hit after corona, but there is no reason to increase dishes by €5! I understand, €1-2 increase, but these price hikes are over the top. (Compared to other local restaurants) I don't think I can afford to visit regularly anymore.

Original Mexican cuisine. That's why you should stick to Mexican dishes. Not necessarily salad with chicken strips etc...

First the positive, the food was okay. However, you could have done without the olive and parsley. This garnish was unnecessary. On the negative side, the dishes are for a hen party; impractical, unappealing and no longer up-to-date. The waitress had to put a terry cloth glove into the plate to serve! The plates are too small! Then the disappointment of the day: Pico de Gallo! My favorite salsa completely tasteless! It didn't bother me that the portion was microscopic. Finally: very friendly service and a fun atmosphere.

This restaurant, centrally located on St. Johanner Markt, impresses above all with its authentic, inviting ambience and the really friendly and courteous staff. I was called a few hours before the reservation and asked if I could actually keep my reservation, which I found very thoughtful. The menu offers a large selection, the food came relatively quickly and the portions are really large. In terms of taste, I would describe the food as good, but not outstanding. Anyone who is sensitive to spiciness should be careful here, because the dishes marked as “spicy” are EXTREMELY spicy. The noise level in the restaurant is relatively high, so it can be quite tiring to carry on a conversation. What was negative were the really excessive drinks prices (€6 for a 0.5l apple spritzer) and the soft drinks only available in 250ml bottles.

Delicious food and large portions. great atmosphere! A big plus is the cheaper menu on Mondays (€14.50). The only downside is that right after we sat down, the waitress asked what we wanted and we barely had time to look at the menu. And the question is "did it taste good?" could be asked after a meal, not when I have a mouth full of food. 🙈 Oh, and the boy was a bit disappointed that the tacos were soggy, but still delicious so it wasn't a big problem 😅 I would definitely like to go there again with friends for a meal together in a nice place!

What a great Valentine's Day at Café Especial. I went there for the first time at the suggestion of my partner. Very clean and harmonious atmosphere inside and out. When we walked in we were greeted with a red rose, which I thought was great for the occasion. At the table we were served promptly, attentively and quickly. The service from all 4 cellars was perfect and there was a bit of fun too. The food was really very tasty and high quality. On the occasion of Valentine's Day there was a super beautiful and delicious cupcake for a reasonable price. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back thanks to the commitment and great overall concept!

Music too loud with speakers all over the restaurant. We had to speak very loudly. We had booked for 8 p.m., the manager kicked us out at 9:30 p.m. because he had a reservation even though we had just ordered drinks.... We had to finish the drinks at the bar. Otherwise very hearty and good meal.

Still as good in all the years we've been going there

We love it and often feel at home here, excellent cuisine, excellent selection of drinks especially when it comes to tequila, over 130 different ones, when our favorite host Ali is there we are happy to be persuaded to do so too :-) Thank you very much and keep it up.

I was there for lunch. Located right in the heart of the city, the restaurant is significantly larger on the inside than expected from the outside. We were greeted by a very nice and friendly employee and were allowed to choose the table ourselves. There is a lunch menu with a large selection. The food came quickly and tasted really excellent. All employees were attentive without being intrusive. The decor of the restaurant is also very appropriate and immediately conveyed the right flair. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant.

We had reserved online for 3 people, the confirmation came and we went to Cafe Especial. Apparently our reservation was entered for a day earlier with the wrong date. We showed the boss?! the confirmation and he then said yes, he first has to see where he can put us here and there, and we can only stay until 8 p.m. He actually managed to make us feel guilty because they hadn't entered the reservation. What was even more annoying was that at no point were all of the tables even remotely occupied. The service was a bit pushy, he asked if he could clear away a glass that wasn't yet empty. I couldn't say anything so quickly because he already had the glass in his hand and was running away. The service here was worlds better. We definitely won't come back, even if the food was okay.

First of all, I have to say that I have often had good service here and the food was okay, but yesterday our visit was an absolute disaster. We both ordered spare ribs for 16.50! The portion is ok. The plate is filled with fried potatoes (finished product), a careless bowl of salad and packaged hygiene wipes that are pushed between the dishes (unhygienic in my opinion). I ordered refried beans as a side dish. This never arrived. Our food was absolutely cold. Fridge cold. After a complaint, the plates were taken away and apparently warmed up in the microwave. This didn't really help as our meat was still cold inside. Preparing and warming up spare ribs is justifiable in a gastro concept like this that is open all day. But also in terms of taste, nothing that you couldn't get packaged or out of a can. I then ate the cold food because I was so hungry. My companion left it there. The waiter noticed this and asked. We didn't have to pay for our food and we were also offered a cafe on the house, which is also the reason why the rating doesn't just get 1 star. Waiters and dealing with the guests were great, kitchen and food were flops.

Ce Mexicain est vraiment à l'image d'un resto Mexicain du pays, très bruyant (car aussi plein de monde), à l'ambiance musicale pendant le repas qui rajoute de la sonorité, alors n'allez pas diner en amoureux pour un repas tranquille. Le moindre recoin du resto est utilisé pour y mettre des tables, le service est très rapide, et cela fait penser qu'ils veulent faire passer du monde pour faire du chiffre, ce qui a l'air de fonctionner, la nourriture servie est correcte, sans non plus qu'elle reste gravée dans les mémoires. Au final, allez y pour un mexicain rapide entre amis pour aller poursuivre sa soirée ailleurs comme dans un bar, pour faire la continuité du style de soirée.

Klasse 👍 Immer zu empfehlen. Sehr nette Bedienung und immer ein Erlebnis wert. Ich komme wieder 😀
