Cafe Del Sol Kassel in Kassel

A visit here has always been worthwhile. Friendly staff, a pleasant atmosphere, and the food has always been great.

Today we were at Café del Sol with three people, including a 6 year old child. The drinks and food came quite quickly. At first the terrace where we were sitting was full, but by the time we wanted to pay there weren't many guests left. After we had eaten we asked for the bill and were told that he would let his colleague know. Our plates were picked up in the meantime and we asked again for the bill. We waited half an hour and the tables around us were all cashed out. The drinks had already been drunk by then. Unfortunately no one came to us... After another quarter of an hour the empty glasses were cleared away and we asked for the bill again. Unfortunately, no one came to us, even though staff was constantly walking around us and we asked several times for the bill. In the end we went to the counter and unfortunately didn't get any accommodation from the staff. We would have expected an apology or a small price concession. Unfortunately nothing at all. The statement we got at the counter was “it’s no problem, you can pay directly at the counter”. In my opinion, it's not a fair statement when you wait an hour for the bill with a 6-year-old child and after multiple inquiries. If we had been asked for new drinks in the meantime or if the store had been so full that the staff couldn't keep up, then it would be a completely different situation. We are very disappointed and won't be coming back anytime soon, even though the atmosphere is very nice!

After asking several times that we wanted the bill, there was no response from the staff. After we finally waited 1 hour for our bill, we had to pay at the counter. The staff wasn't particularly accommodating and rather unfriendly. In addition, they didn't offer us any compensation. A real disappointment, despite the lovely ambience…

Let me put it this way: Café del Sol is always worth a stop. Good food, friendly staff, at least on this day. What more could you want? Centrally located near the motorway. I'd be happy to go back when I'm in Kassel. 👍👍

We always enjoy coming here. Whether for breakfast or lunch, we're always satisfied. One star deducted: if you order a cocktail without ice, you only get half a glass. I think cocktails should be full even without ice. You pay for a cocktail, not for the ice.

The positive thing is that the food and drink selection is very good. Unfortunately it is super loud and noisy. Service is nice. But leaves you alone. We sat dry for a long time.

I ordered this small pizza (can't remember exactly what it was called) chicken teriyaki, personally it was way too sweet for me. But my other blackheads at the table were thrilled with the food. Service was top. Gladly again.

As a single person there was no normal table available, only a high table. Everyone else was n reserved. On the way out I noticed that there was room for two at a table by the window - without a reservation.

I am very disappointed! Today a cake was to be served as a surprise, for a fee of course! The lady brought the cake so listlessly without saying a word, we were really sad. It took more than half an hour before we could order! The things we ordered were handed over instead of being served neatly on the table! Very unprofessional! Then we should pay extra again for cutlery and plates! Absolute impudence. We had ordered a lot of drinks and food, then we were supposed to pay money for 3 forks and 1 plate. I don't know if Café Del Sol is so characterless or if it was just the employee. The citizen's bun was hard and crunchy, very unappetizing. Of course there wasn't a cent tip!

Rarely have I seen such a beautiful restaurant and the service is very, very friendly and the food is top 5/5

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was nice. Service was unfortunately weak.

We picked up 2 schnitzels today. First of all, €18.90 per schnitzel for snack quality. The sauce is the best thing about it and was also the reason why we got it again. But unfortunately there was too little sauce last time, so we asked not to be so stingy because the sauce is usually absorbed by the fries during transport. A whopping €2.70 per person surcharge. That's €5.40 for both people. Just a disgrace for a dollop of more sauce. There is probably no such thing as service and customer satisfaction anymore. That was also the last time we ate or got something on site. This is just a rip off.

Unfortunately, we spent 15 minutes waiting before the waitress told us that her colleague would be coming soon because she wasn't responsible for the table. At this point we hadn't received any menus or been able to order anything to drink. Another 10 minutes and two direct addresses to the waitress later, we left, which no one seemed to care about. Apparently there is no need for customers here, especially since there were only about 20 guests there besides us.

You have to wait for service, at least after the first order. The food is excellent.

We regularly eat at the "Cafe del Sol's" and yesterday it was Kassel again. What sets this apart from many others is that you are always served relatively quickly and your food always comes reasonably to very quickly. That should be the bar for the other restaurants.

Very nice restaurant with a good selection

The breakfast buffet and Sunday brunch are highly recommended.

Went there for breakfast on a sunny Saturday. With the exception of the sausage/cheese selection, we were left with nothing to be desired at the rich buffet.

Embarrassing, we went to breakfast with a reservation and we barely entered the place, there are more and more tables and they don't give you the option to change, I am a thin woman and I am not exaggerating that it was difficult for me to sit down. I understand that they want to make money but that is not the way, here you lost some potential clients. The breakfast wasn't amazing either.

Great breakfast, a little expensive but very plentiful.

If you want to take advantage of the breakfast buffet on Saturday or brunch on Sunday, you should have a reservation or only be a group of two or three people. Children running around and getting a little louder are not a problem there. It probably sees itself as a family restaurant. Only the parking spaces could become scarce and parking is not allowed on the street (no parking or limited parking). Since it is only a few hundred meters away from the exit of the A7 Kassel-Nord, this is also a good option if you are just driving past Kassel.

Unfortunately, a very long wait but the food was really good, some dishes (burgers) arrived a little cold but otherwise ok, we will definitely be back.

Super great location, super nice service

I've been to several cafes in Germany so far and I have to say that so far only the branch in Kassel has given me such a warm welcome. Especially when it comes to the staff, our waiter went out of his way to make our afternoon pleasant. Not positioned, but friendly. In particular, I really have to praise Mr. Wissam. Thank you for your attention and your helpful advice. We look forward to next time.

Unfortunately, all parking spaces were full, which was also the case for other guests. The food was very good. Unfortunately they brought me the wrong burger. My food was taken away again, when my food came everyone else was already finished. Of course mistakes can happen, but an apology would also be nice to hear. In any case, my fries were probably warmed up again, they were pretty dark and didn't really taste good. Nevertheless, I would go again because the food was generally great.

Overall it's ok, but the sofas are worn out and it's very difficult to eat from the sofa as it's too low to the table. The toilets urgently need to be repaired, some cubicles are not lockable, and the toilet paper dispensers are broken...it is probably never cleaned or refilled every now and then, very disgusting, hence the 2 star deduction.

Went for brunch on Saturday. We liked it a lot.

So, my one star comes from the fact that I had reserved a table and was accommodated under a coat rack (see photo). You're constantly fighting with other guests to ensure that more jackets and coats aren't hung up. This is the second time this has happened to me here. And if you talk to the restaurant manager, you will hear that everything is reserved. My advice, move your wardrobes somewhere else.

For the first time in a restaurant of this chain. Good, sometimes somewhat unusual menu for a short meal. The service seems to be different, we were lucky, so a good impression. Decoration could be a little nicer...

We were there on a Saturday evening and it was correspondingly full. But no problem with a reservation. The interior design still looks cozy despite the size of the room. Service was a bit slow that evening, but it was also busy. The taste of the food was convincing, although the price was steep. But at the moment it's getting more expensive everywhere. First save a little and then maybe we can come by again ;)

In itself there is nothing to complain about. I think it would be better if all the food was clearly visible. Meat salad and other delicious things were very hidden, so that they were tarnished. Everything tasted great. The service is also good, but one or two staff would be more advantageous, especially on Saturday / Sunday.

In particular, the "Sambalhollondaise" with its slight spiciness was outstanding, in my case with the Schnitzel del Sol. Based on several visits, I still see Cafe del Sol as a great option for quick and easy delicious food.

Very nice cafe! It could have been decorated more for Christmas, but otherwise it is very cozy! It was just a shame that, as an adult, you can't order a children's menu! The normal portions were almost too much for me!

The behavior of the staff was a bit unfortunate. The terrace is closed to customers and some of the staff sit out to have a drink. I think it's not very service-oriented to exclude the guests and then set a bad example by sitting there yourself despite the terraces being closed.

This was our first visit to Café Del Sol. First, the waitress almost scared us away from a seat that had only been reserved for an hour later and the employee was also very unfriendly! After we changed seats, we sat for almost 20 minutes and were not taken into account by the employee mentioned. After several attempts to get a waitress to come to our table through eye contact, we left the restaurant. We also have to say that you first had to find a suitable table that was also clean. If it were rush hour, this could perhaps be forgiven, but given that the time of day is 12 noon on a weekday, I have no understanding of that. The toilets weren't clean either! We will certainly not try to have lunch or eat any other food here again. It's a shame, the card sounded promising so far!

Like every other Café del Sol in Germany, nothing more and nothing less. Here, too, the service is not well trained, but it is still friendly and you can order again. Actually, four stars are basically too much for these places, but since you know what you're getting and it's consistently of the same quality, I think four stars are appropriate here.

Well, 40 minutes waiting for a pizza to be baked.? And that at lunchtime a week at around 30% Occupancy. Service is very nice, toilets have a lack of cleanliness.

We were there for breakfast, it was delicious and the service was really good.

Terrible. The bottom of the pizza ok for bake off but that's the only good thing about this place. The avocado on top was "al dente" but not the pasta, it was inedible. The toilet disgusting. The service lousy.

Schnitzel only lukewarm. Champion sauce and the fries totally cold. When the stressed waitress was told about food, the answer was OK! receive. Not recommended. Very bad...never again! 1 star for the food because nothing less is possible.

I went to the restaurant for the first time today and waited at least 15 minutes for service. I then left the restaurant without having accomplished anything without saying a word. As I could observe, there was only one waitress working for the busy restaurant and was therefore completely overwhelmed or overloaded.

Very close to the motorway, delicious, very different food, we prefer to go here instead of an overpriced rest stop:) very nice and attentive service, we had eaten in half an hour and could move on. Parking spaces at the house.

The staff was very nice and the loaded frys were delicious. Unfortunately the soup was cold and the Caesar salad was a bit bad. In connection with the rather high price, in our opinion, unfortunately only 3*.

We went there for breakfast and again in the evening on a Friday for a company trip with a group of 15 people. We had reserved a table. There was still a lot of space available in the morning. It definitely makes sense for the evening. Service is friendly and patient. We all enjoyed the food. Toilets are OK.

Very friendly and attentive service, someone has just been trained. The food was tasty and everything went very quickly, the burger was as I expected. Price-performance was right.

Very easy to reach, sufficient parking space, but only partially suitable for wider or particularly low vehicles, as the exit for deeper vehicles and the width of individual parking spaces could become a problem for wider vehicles. The dishes on offer are very varied and everyone will find what they are looking for there. The taste is at a very high level. In terms of price, the starters, main courses as well as drinks are alcoholic/non-alcoholic and desserts are in the green range. The staff is very polite and committed to looking after the guests in the best possible way. Well suited for families, couples and sometimes smaller to medium-sized groups. In summer or generally warm days, the outdoor area is also clearly recommended. Definitely worth a visit, although reservations may be required depending on the day/time. But in summary: Highly recommended.

The food was very good. The service was very nice and attentive. The selection and quality of the food and drinks was great. The only thing I have to criticize is that the dispenser for the toilet seat disinfection was empty and needed to be wiped down at the bottom of the hand dryer. Furthermore, the toilet paper dispensers were a bit dusty. The carpet in the upper area could be replaced. But that's complaining at a high level. Otherwise really great!

The food is okay and tastes good. Some portions are really small in terms of value for money. Next to my companion's average-sized burger there was at most a handful of fries. Almost 20 euros are really steep for that. For two people we paid 75 euros with a starter, two main courses and 4 drinks. That's very limiting for a franchise system. The ambience is okay given the circumstances, but the store is really huge, which leads to an enormous amount of noise when it's full. However, the service staff are really nice and usually come by often enough, considering the many thousands of steps they have to take due to the size of the store and the number of people. All in all, no more than 3 stars is possible due to the unavoidably high volume and the expensive prices.

The window panes were extremely dirty and the furniture wasn't clean either, especially the table. 3 different service staff for one table. The taste of my cocoa was so-so, as was my husband's milk coffee. Not very lovingly prepared. The food offer sounded good. We'll try that next time.

It's been a long time since I've been to a hotel in this chain. The decor is as cozy as expected, despite the many tables. At this late lunch the shop wasn't even 30% full and we still waited almost 50 minutes for pasta and salad. The pinsa that came with it wasn't really warm anymore and worse: the avocado wasn't even really ripe. Too bad. The service was at least very friendly. Thanks

I ate coffee and almond cake and for the price of €4.10 it wasn't super cheap but it was justified as the taste and size were very good.

The food was super delicious - I had the schnitzel with fries (the sauce could have been a little more), the others had pasta/pizza and were really excited too! The service was really very friendly, which is why we were willing to give a little more tip. In our opinion, the cake wasn't particularly tasty (I think it was exposed to air a bit, you could taste that on the chocolate), otherwise everything was really great! Everything is great. The loud music could be a little quieter

We were there with several people. This restaurant is not for people who use a walker or wheelchair. They do have a ramp, but otherwise it is not easy for disabled people to get into the store. Once the entrance door is too difficult to open and then it starts in the store itself. It is so full of tables and chairs that a person with a walker or wheelchair has no way to get through. Unless he is still somewhat independent and can still walk a bit. Dear restaurateur, you should think about this.

Ambience quite nice. We didn't have to wait long, but when the nachos arrived as an appetizer, I was a bit annoyed. Most of it was little crumbs. As if the last bit of the pack had been put in there. And the quantity was simply not suitable for the money. The pasta funghi were ok. However, to charge €8.70 for half a Pinsa Tarte Flambée Style and then you get a piece that won't even fill a small child. The price-performance ratio is absolutely not right.

Good food, nice staff and therefore always worth a visit

We went out to dinner with 11 people for our birthday, and none of us were particularly enthusiastic about the food, as we had positive memories of it for years. We won't be coming back and generally prefer restaurants where the price-performance ratio is right. Only ready-made schnitzel was confirmed upon request. And not a lie at least Unfortunately, the pasta is no longer the same as it was before the owner changed, they were really happy to show up.

Was here for breakfast on Monday morning. It was tasty, reasonably priced and the service was great, very friendly and quick. The ambience is typical Café del Sol.

Should you stop by, price performance is way too expensive.

Det er et ganske fint sted. Man kan komme som man er... Vi var her i forbindelse med vores rejse til og fra Frankrig. Servicen er fin. Og maden ligeledes.
