Visually nice, food is average, nothing special. Had pinsa and burgers. Main courses came before starters. Supplements were forgotten. Staff had to be reminded twice. In the end the calculation wasn't correct either. The staff is nice, but you can't run a restaurant like that. Won't go here again.

There was a piece of glass in my food as shown in the picture. The leader reacted very accommodatingly. Unfortunately the service is far too slow even though it is empty. I can't recommend it at all.

Today I paid €24 for breakfast for the All Summer Long for two people. 2 slices of salami, 2 times turkey breast, 2 slices of cucumber, 1 slice of tomato, 1 small pot of yoghurt (for 2 people), 1 small pot of meat (2 people), 4 slices of cheese, 1 pot of store-bought meat salad (2 people), 2 slices Ham, 1 pot of jam (2 people), 4 rolls and 2 stone hard croissants, 2 boiled eggs. Really poor for the price. I asked the waiter if he could please turn on the patio heater for us, his answer was "Unfortunately no, the boss has forbidden it, we have to save money and if I do that now I'll lose my head". Otherwise, the waiter was very, very nice and often apologized about the heater. One more experience not to go there for breakfast anymore

Unfortunately, one star is even too much. First and last time!! We drove an hour for nothing. Paid over €200 and didn't even get enough. Salad was just green meat and cheese. No tomatoes etc. They made 2 salads incorrectly or made too much of them and we still had to pay for one in the end. Tarte flambée was said to be extra without ham and brought anyway. Service disaster. If you do something wrong you should make it right. Don't blame the customers. Because a customer can't make 10 mistakes at once 😊 never again

Very nice restaurant with good and relatively cheap food

All of the dishes on the “Schnitzel Holiday” were very tasty and came out of the kitchen very quickly, you never had to wait long between servings. The service was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is of course a typical Café Del Sol, but it is nicely laid out and doesn't feel as much like a warehouse as some of the others in this chain.

So food like at MC Donald's, warm fries + schnitzel not exactly warm either. Salad is always the same. You should look at the menu because something new would make more sense. The extra leaf is better not cold food either.

Even if you see on the map that there are free spaces here, they are blocked by Verbrenner. Café del Sol doesn't do anything here, probably doesn't want to scare away the other guests. This was our second time here and both times there were problems with the orders. We were a group of 9 people and were missing drinks and a burger. One burger came with the wrong burger sauce and another burger was cold and came new with the wrong fries dip. Food was good. But €5.6 for what feels like 10 sweet potato fries is already steep.

I have been sitting in this wonderful place for more than five years. The service is very good and the atmosphere is more than wonderful. I really like it and prefer it to many restaurants. If there were ten stars I would have given it.

The Café del Sol in Gelsenkirchen is located on one of the city's busiest streets. The volume level is accordingly when you sit outside. In addition, the “usual suspects” cruise around the building in their leased cars. The ambience has the typical look that you know from this chain. The staff was friendly, but really busy. The food was of average canteen quality. The salad was pretty bad, the schnitzel was okay, the warmed mushroom sauce was heated differently. Sometimes hot, sometimes lukewarm. Suggests insufficient stirring after heating in a microwave. You can go there, but it's definitely not an "aha" experience.

Schnitzel is delicious, salad is very bad and looks like it has been sitting for a long time (brown edges). After complaining there was only a "oh... Yes... Would you like a new one?" No one asks whether it was tasty or whether there are any other wishes. Burgers were brought with few fries and it was said that there would be more soon. Everyone finished eating and then a small plate of fries arrived. The other two are still missing the fries. Addendum: Compensation was offered which we accepted.

Yesterday I went to this cafe for breakfast with my girlfriend. I chose the good morning breakfast. There came 3 slices of turkey breast, 2 slices of cheese, jam and butter with cucumbers and tomatoes. That was ok but unfortunately only with a bun. If you also order a roll, one roll costs €1. This is cheeky and a rip-off. You would automatically have to get 2 rolls for this breakfast. I wouldn't recommend breakfast a la cart to anyone. I also took a picture, unfortunately I don't know how to upload it here.

The Café de Sol is a chain and is more of a system restaurant. But the service was very nice, the fries were nice and crispy and the burger had a decent patty. We were there at around 3pm. The ambience and the food is solid and tasty as for a Café del Sol. Unfortunately, a few things were mixed up in our order (wrong side dish, wrong dip and there were cucumbers on the citizen that had been previously canceled). We only had service at the table twice within an hour. Once for the order and once when we asked to pay.

We were there at lunchtime during the week. It was therefore very empty. There was enough parking space, the food (Pinsa, Greek salad with chicken, chicken schnitzel with sambal sauce and fries, noodles) always tasted good and fresh. The Café del Sol is also known for its delicious spritzers. Rabarb juice spritzer and passion fruit spritzer are both very tasty. The service was attentive and nice. Gladly again! At least during the week.

Went there for brunch yesterday (Mother's Day) with a group of about 15 people. Two people from our group wanted to order only a few breakfast components a la carte or a pure breakfast buffet instead of brunch. Both were NOT possible. You were FORCED to order brunch. ALL drinks were exclusive. The price of a 0.75 l bottle of mineral water was . 7.40 €, and 3.40 € for a normal cup of coffee, you quickly lose the desire to ever enter this location again. The quality of the food justify the 2 stars. The service crew tried hard, but we still had to wait approx . Waited 20 minutes around lunchtime for the brunch dishes to be refilled. When we left the restaurant, all members of our group agreed that this was our first and last time visiting this location. Maybe a reason for the management of the "Cafe del Sol" to think about the pricing and the selection of offers. We will definitely book our next Mother's Day as well as other planned celebrations in a different location in the future. It's actually a shame, because the outdoor and indoor areas are pleasantly designed.
