My absolute favorite café – always worth a visit! As a regular guest at Café del Sol, I can only say that it is a highlight every time! The atmosphere is unbeatable - a touch of vacation in the middle of the city, with a relaxed yet lively atmosphere. I particularly like that you can always find a comfortable place both inside and outside, no matter what time of year. When it comes to food, there really is a great selection! The burgers are highly recommended – always fresh and juicy. But my personal favorite is the avocado slice: perfectly toasted bread, plenty of avocado and wonderful spices, simply heavenly. And if desired, prawns or serrano as a topping. By the way, brunch on the weekend is also a must! The staff is always friendly, attentive and quick, even when it's busy - which is often the case because the cafe is so popular. Whether for breakfast, lunch or a nice dinner with friends, Café del Sol is always the right choice. I look forward to coming back every time! Best regards Carmen Pssst

The team is super nice and very accommodating. The food is great and the drinks are great. I particularly liked the iced tea. Today we had schnitzel with mini potatoes and it was very tasty 😋. The Caesar salad was also very, very, very good and tasty.

I have been a customer at Café Del Sol in Castrop-Rauxel for years. I've always been happy so far, but this time it was completely different. Our children were welcomed with a lot of love. Now only middle class at most. Almost 20 euros for a frozen schnitzel with a few fries and 9 leaves of salad. The motto here is maximum profit. The prices are totally exorbitant. After a quick look at the map we changed the restaurant.

The food is very tasty. Unfortunately it is very loud due to the large room. The service staff were very nice. The main course “Schnitzel del Sol” took a while, so we were happy to have ordered bread with dips as a starter in advance.

I visited this establishment on the recommendation of a good friend. I was full of anticipation looking forward to my sweet potato fries for my schnitzel vacation After repeated requests, this was not possible, not with compensation for the costs, but only if you paid extra for the entire thing NOT WORKING AT ALL!

Unfortunately, the food has declined a bit over the last few years, you can tell that the staff is very stressed, probably due to a lack of staff. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not optimal either.

Our visit to Café del Sol on September 30th was very positive overall:) My husband and I ate here today with our two children and everyone enjoyed it. Overall, the atmosphere was a bit busy, but that didn't bother us much. The service was great...outstandingly friendly service...the young gentleman also quickly took care of the special requests of our two children. We'll be back👋

The acoustics inside are terrible, the staff is nice and if you haven't been there for a while, you'll be shocked at almost nine euros for a small portion of sweet potato fries. What a profit margin.

I always eat at Café de Sol. I've been to several branches of this chain, but lately the service is only 6 out of 10. The food isn't always good either. These fries look like they've been served and fried three times already.

Went there today. We were just sitting down when it was explained to us in a not so polite way that this was a table for four people. Our friends weren't there yet. We didn't even ask if anyone else was coming. Then the four of us went over to the Losteria. Best regards Katrin and Frank

Yesterday we had dinner there with a group after an event in the Europahalle. Great service, super friendly!! The atmosphere is fantastic, stylish and cozy at the same time and the food was also great... really cool combinations... exceptional and really tasty. We'd love to come back!

A mega praise that I would like to describe to you. My wife and I wanted to celebrate our 19th anniversary in a small group, so I contacted Cafe de Sol and received a pleasant response almost immediately, and the cell phone number was also sent to me directly. Then being able to establish personal contact and Whatsapp...WOW, that was amazing. The wishes were discussed, such as seating and the like. The day came and we were not only greeted politely, but also personally escorted to the place. On top of that, it was super comfortable on the red couch, so I ordered the food and looked around. People, you ABSOLUTELY MUST experience what we were able to experience. Such a stylish, sophisticated ambience and really chic location that is second to none, but is rarely found in the Ruhr area, hats off to you! Now the food arrived, which not only looked perfect with really nice and extremely nice staff, the food was INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS, thank you again for that. The evening passed and we drank a little more before we wanted to pay. Not only the waitress came, but two who very politely told us we weren't allowed to leave yet. All that was actually agreed upon was a small candle or something similar to highlight the occasion a little. Less than 5 minutes later they both came back with an incredibly delicious ice cream, a piece of cake with delicious sauce, cream and a candle each on the house, and we were also allowed to have drinks for free. But we were not only completely happy but also really full. I would like to point out that the price-performance ratio not only fits, but is really fair. We would like to thank everyone involved, it was simply a successful evening and something we will be talking about for a long time. Even when we left we were accompanied to the exit, the doors were opened and we were wished a safe journey home. PEOPLE PEOPLE PEOPLE, IT CAN'T BE ANY MORE.

We sat outside and had a pinsa and couple of coffees. Great for enjoying the last minutes of sunshine. The service was friendly and accommodating. Prices like any Café del Sol and everything was delicious except for the filter coffee. There is also oat milk for coffee and many vegan and vegetarian food options. Gladly again :)

Now super expensive and the chairs outside are totally uncomfortable for people with more weight.

It was our first time eating there. Our families have been there several times. I really have to say that we were absolutely thrilled and everything was great. We just regret that we didn't go there sooner. That's changed from now on!!! will be there more often now.

Very friendly staff, good food and good drinks. Prices are perfectly reasonable, clean, well located and there are enough parking spaces. Children and dogs are welcome.

Unfortunately the service was very poor. The service was unprofessional and obviously in a bad mood, it would be nice if they didn't take that out on their guests. I can't recommend it and I won't go there again with my family.

So that was a night and day difference compared to the Café del Sol in Herne. Here the reserved table was actually made available and everything was excellently prepared. So in the future we will be here more often than at Café del Sol in Herne. The roses ordered were delivered on Saturday and stored properly until Sunday and, as promised, placed on the table on the Sunday before they arrived.

Unfortunately no longer satisfied. The service and food used to be much better. On our last visit we had to wait a long time for our food even though it really wasn't full, otherwise it would have been understandable. People who ordered their food after us had it earlier than us & we only had fries with nuggets. The nuggets were really tough. The food really went down quite a bit. Really a shame!

We were there last night for my mother's 50th birthday. Everything was nice, the food and especially the service. The entire team was very accommodating and fulfilled all of our wishes. Super child-friendly, which unfortunately isn't always the case these days. Nice atmosphere and very nice employees. I like coming here, even if the noise level is a bit difficult depending on the day and time.

A really good location, we were here for brunch and the selection was very large. There was everything from savory to sweet, cold and warm dishes. There is a lot of space to sit, both inside and outside. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Good, relaxed music and an all-round great flair and good atmosphere.

We always visit this cafe after our big dog walk (two girls, three dogs) Super nice, friendly staff throughout, absolutely love animals!! I can't say much about the food, but what we ate was really good, but unfortunately in the higher price segment. It's mostly visited by young people, which I actually think is a shame. All age groups can feel really comfortable here 😉👍. Perfect, even during the week...

The atmosphere of Cafe del Sol is always and everywhere very pleasant. Lots of free parking. Overall, only two stars for everything. We were asked to change our table for four because there were only two of us. However, in retrospect there were only two guests sitting at the table of four! Absolutely not okay! Even 0 stars for this!!! The waiters are friendly, but they took turns coming around the corner every 3 minutes to ask if everything was OK. In principle it's okay, but you should do this maybe every 15 minutes. It was definitely a disruptive factor for us! And if I want to reorder something, I'll get in touch. You get the feeling that you don't want the waiters to just stand there when all the guests have already been served.

Went there again for a long time and found the price-performance ratio to be pretty great. I especially found the house bread with the 3 mini dips to be quite excessive for almost 10 euros. But what we all ate was delicious. The service was very nice, but we had to wait a long time for our food since it wasn't that crowded. And yes, I know, everything is more expensive, but for me too and I've been earning the same for years... and you still feel forced to tip.

Yesterday we were with you for Mother's Day with 10 people. We have been to many restaurants, but Cafe del Sol surprised us a lot just because of the pretty waitress who served us. We sat in a small area which was cramped but she really topped it off 10/10 that we enjoyed sitting there. Friendly, polite, we were served very well and our glasses were full. We were doing very well in their hands. Thank you for a lovely day, dear waitress

Had breakfast there with my girlfriend on May 4th, we were both impressed by the nice and helpful young blonde waitress, we often go to restaurants but we have never experienced such good service, we felt like we were at home. See you next time!!

Price performance or quality doesn't fit. The schnitzel is toe like hulle and that on several visits. The waitress tried hard and came with another piece to try. Unfortunately the same game here too. It's a shame that has really diminished in recent years

The service was okay, but for 6 dishes the first 2 and the remaining 4 arrived with a difference of about 10 minutes, which meant that some had already eaten before the others had even started... that doesn't work. The fries were quite good, but I was rather disappointed with the burger, frozen meat that was already over-cooked, a hint of grated Parmesan that you couldn't actually taste and thick lettuce cucumbers that I don't like on a burger (I'm on the gherkin team)... and then charging over 9€ as a single price... all in all, I wouldn't come back, to any of the chain's restaurants.

Wir waren zu dritt Essen. Die Speisekarte ist reduzierter als früher und wie überall auch teurer. Aber als wir den Nachtisch bekommen haben Mascarpone Creme mit Crunch war schon nach dem ersten Löffel Schluss, die Creme ist sauer / umgekippt und ungenießbar gewesen. Bei der Reklamation würde mir gesagt,das kann doch nicht sein. Die Frage ob ich es nicht essen möchte war ziemlich überflüssig. Nach der erneuten Frage ob es abgeräumt werden kann, konnte ich nur lächend gejahen. Kurze Zeit später kam die Bedienung und hat sich entschuldigt und gesagt das Dessert nicht bezahlt werden bräuchte. Ganz ehrlich das ist doch selbstverständlich und eigentlich hätte ich auch eine Entschädigung erwartet,da ich ja schlecht gewordenes Essen bekommen habe. Die Bedienung war allgemein schon sehr anstrengend,sie kam alle 5 Minuten an den Tisch und hat gefragt ob alles gut ist. Das leere Geschirr hat sie nur abgeräumt nachdem sie gefragt hat,ob sie es mitnehmen darf. Was hätten wir damit machen sollen??? Fazit wir kommen trotzdem wieder,aber ich hätte mir gewünscht das der Vorfall anders abgewickelt wurde und dass das Personal zwar aufmerksam ist aber auch nicht so aufdringlich.

The food was very good, tortellini with shrimps. Delicate garlic note and above all, it was served hot. I'm not a fan of lukewarm dishes. The service was very nice, we met there for a first date and that was also noticed. The lady from service was very accommodating. When my partner briefly left the table, she even asked if everything was going well. I felt in good hands there and was grateful for this attention. Especially in this unusual situation. Hello, unfortunately my rating is not good. It was my first time there and probably the last time too. The “Schnitzel del Sol” was recommended to me and I was simply horrified. First of all the price, ..... €18.90?!? Not to mention the quality. Simply 2 tiny slices of roast pork (lobster) breaded and sold as a schnitzel is really a disgrace for the price. 🤬😤 My three friends who were there also agree. The service was very nice, but couldn't change the poor quality. Price/performance ratio... underground. Absolutely NOT recommended

We had dinner with you today. Everything was fine, then the bill came. The bill was 45 euros. I put a 50 euro note on the table, the waiter took the money and left without giving me the rest of the money. A boldness like I've never experienced before.

Nice cozy place for a nice meal

We were there for a schnitzel holiday. My companion had a hair under her schnitzel. When we pointed this out, the waitress immediately took the plate and left without a word. A few minutes later she came back and said that no one in the kitchen had hair that color. So she basically says that it has to be a hair of ours. Very bad handling in this situation. There was now no problem with the food, but this statement simply annoyed the entire group. It's an all you can eat schnitzel. So we didn't have to pretend to get a free meal or anything like that.

The atmosphere is very special, I really like the look of it, but unfortunately the background noise is too loud. Food is ok, drinks have become quite expensive.

Wooden shack with unpleasant acoustics. The service is nice and friendly and really tries hard. The food didn't convince me. Everything tastes like ready-made food.

Unfortunately the terrace was closed and it was sunny and 16 degrees. Many people went back to the pizzeria next door.

We were there on a Saturday evening and of course it was very crowded. It is advisable to reserve on weekends. The food and drinks were average but OK. The burger was bland and without salad. The service is tried hard. Unfortunately the (high) table was sticky and wobbly, the toilets were in poor condition, no soap or paper towels. This can be done better.
