Café del Lago in Salzgitter

Achtung grosse Gruppen sind nicht erwünscht. Unter dem Dach gibt es nur 4er Tische. Da wir größer 4 Personen waren, hatten wir zwei 4 Personentische zusammen geschoben. Aber dies ist nicht erwünscht, obwohl genug Tische frei waren. Auch wurde niemand dadurch gestoert. Lieber sollten die Tische auseinander und verliert die Kunden und somit den Umsatz anstatt auf Kundenwünsche einzugehen. Kundenorientierung ist gleich Null! Das Personal ist auch unfreundlich. Nie, nie wieder. Sie haben es scheinbar nicht nötig eine Gruppe größer 4 Personen zu bewirtschaften und Geld zu verdienen. Ambiente nur 1 Stern wegen der Stimmung durch den Service. Essen können wir nicht beurteilen, wegen der o.g. Gründe.

Leider nicht zu empfehlen. Waren gerade um etwas zu essen mit 5 Personen dort. Da es geregnet hat, waren alle Tische für 6 Personen naß geregnet, sodass man dort nicht sitzen konnte. Wir haben uns 2 4-er Tische zusammen geschoben, sodass wir 6 Plätze hatten. Leider wurde uns gesagt, dass das nicht erlaubt ist, allerdings ohne jegliche Begründung, sodass wir wieder gegangen sind. So was habe ich noch nie erlebt, schien einfach ein schlechter Tag des Personals gewesen zu sein, persönliche Befindlichkeiten, was auch immer. In der heutigen Zeit einfach nur ein absolutes No-go und wir lassen unser Geld woanders.

Please note: Large groups are not welcome. There are only four-person tables under the roof. Since there were more than four of us, we pushed two four-person tables together. But this was not welcome, even though there were plenty of free tables. It also didn't bother anyone. It would be better to move the tables apart and lose customers and thus revenue rather than respond to customer requests. Customer orientation is zero! The staff is also unfriendly. Never, never again. They apparently don't need to cater to a group of four people and make money. Ambience only 1 star because of the atmosphere created by the service. We can't rate the food for the reasons stated above.

Ein wundervolles Frühstücksbuffet hat uns Kegelfreundinnen heute erwartet. Die Buchung über die Webseite war total einfach! Das Buffet war toll angerichtet und wurde ständig aufgefüllt. Von Brot, verschiedenen Brötchen, Fleisch über Käse, Früchte, Saft, Pudding bzw. Creme, Eier gekocht, Rührei, Speck, und noch vieles mehr! Es mangelte an gar nichts! Wir haben uns sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt und würden es weiter empfehlen!

Today I spent the evening with my girlfriend at Café del Lago. The service was excellent. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was wonderful. A bit crowded, but you have to be aware of that, and then it's completely fine. All in all, simply fantastic. Thank you!

Went there for the breakfast buffet today on Mother's Day. A rich, reasonably priced selection of delicious dishes that were constantly replenished. Service was ok. Nice ambience. Great view over the lake. Will definitely come back again.

Staff completely overwhelmed, waited over an hour for fries. Terrible guest experience!

The young ladies in the service are absolutely listless, you have to clean the table yourself. Unfortunately the citizen only arrived after 30 minutes and was absolutely cold! As soon as you press (NO TIP) when ordering, the waitress treats you like dirt! I wouldn't even give it 1 star, really...

We had dinner there today. The food and the ambience were very good, but unfortunately the service and organization were not. Orders are placed online and you pay immediately. I think it's great, but I would like to decide for myself how much I want to tip. However, this will be added upon payment. When serving, the drinks were simply put down very heartlessly without a word. Likewise the food. There was no indication from the waiter that the cutlery had to be organized and picked up by the guest himself. Sorry, but this has nothing to do with service. And asking for a tip for that is cheeky. Furthermore, I didn't see any waitress wiping a table outside. We will definitely NOT come again.

We felt very comfortable. The food was prepared very quickly and extremely tasty. With the view of the lake from inside or, if you feel like it, outside, there is a very nice atmosphere. We'll be back.

Café De Lago used to be a great location, very well located at the marina, good food, friendly service. Since the last three visits I have the impression that a once great restaurant with a great ambience is saying goodbye here. Long waiting times, even for many employees, sticky glasses, grumpy staff - either the company will soon be sold or something is going wrong in the management. Overall, it's a shame!

On the banks of the pond, a fantastic place to relax after a walk. The tea is excellent and the food too, there is an excellent choice. The place is well looked after and the service is very precise.

You can eat there, but the fact that I'm now thinking wow, I definitely have to go there again doesn't occur to me now. When it comes to service, I refrain from commenting.

Great cafe with a beautiful view! I can also understand that the prices are adjusted accordingly for this ambience. But not that something is offered in pictures and you receive a product that looks like it is a colored children's drink with 2 ice cubes! I spoke to a waitress, she was completely overwhelmed and wanted to tell the boss. I waited, unfortunately no one came. Totally disappointing and definitely never ever! The picture is what we got (we had already drunk it)

Went there in a good mood and left in a bad mood. Orders are placed on the terrace using a QR code and a push notification informs you when the drink order can be picked up from the boat. After half an hour without any information, we went to pick up what was wrong with our order. Apparently the push message had already been triggered six times. Nobody cared that we didn't receive anything - we were given the two cappuccinos that had now gone cold and the beer that had long since gone stale. 👎 If no one comes after supposedly triggering the pickup notification six times, you might want to investigate what's going on. First visit and definitely last visit. Oh yes - the push notification came when we were back in the car and ready to drive off.

Nice location. First time there. Drinks ordered via QR code. Push notifications allowed. Waited half an hour, finally went there and everything was there. They probably sent the push several times, but nothing arrived. Nobody had the idea of ​​coming to the table for a moment. The beer is now stale, the cappu is only lukewarm. No sugar, no spoons, no cookies. Table in sight had also ordered food. That arrived well before the drinks. Also rude. It's just an impression, but it's the first one. And despite the really beautiful and clean location, it is unfortunately devastating.

I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken in the restaurant - but what I was served had little to do with a classic Caesar salad. The dressing was obviously not homemade, but a finished product, which was confirmed by the waiter when I asked. The salad seemed carelessly slapped onto the plate and was very reminiscent of packaged, pre-cut mixed salad from the supermarket - neither visually nor tastefully fresh. Croutons, which are simply part of a classic Caesar salad, were completely missing. Instead, there were three half-cut slices of baguette on the plate that tasted dry and old - probably leftovers from the breakfast buffet. The Parmesan was also used extremely sparingly. In my opinion, charging 18 euros for this “salad” is simply an outrage. I trained in hotel management myself, worked in renowned 5-star hotels in Switzerland and my family has run a restaurant in Hamburg for many years - so I know exactly what I'm talking about. What was served here has nothing to do with quality and standards. Unfortunately, the selection of restaurants in Salzgitter is limited, and that's exactly what they seem to be focusing on here. The location is nice – but that alone is not enough. No chef who is passionate about his profession would serve such a dish like this. I definitely won't visit this restaurant a second time.

Went to Café del Lago again today after a long time. We had a table for 4 people. Ordered and were greeted warmly. We were allocated a table according to our wishes. Service was quick, but unhurried at our table. Our order was taken with all friendliness. We didn't have to wait long for our food. Overall, everyone enjoyed the dishes very well. Of course one or the other had something to criticize. But these were all subjective impressions. I particularly liked the ambience. Modern furnishings with lots of outdoor seating options and a wonderful view of Lake Salzgitter. I can recommend the location with confidence.

Traditionally on my birthday we go to my favorite restaurant, but like mine Favorite restaurant disappointed me today... The birthday child didn't get a candle, even though I made my wish known when making the reservation and at the reception. And the long waits for food were so tiring that I had to become a "bad mother" and give the kids a phone. Of course there is nothing for children here, no corner, not even coloring books colored pencils...

We've been to the breakfast buffet several times on "normal" weekends. I couldn't figure out why it was around €5 more expensive on Easter Monday. I didn't see anything that wasn't there elsewhere. I only ever saw fish on the buffet for a very short time; unfortunately, by the time I was there, the fish was already gone. At around €25 excluding drinks my pain threshold was exceeded. But everything was delicious, especially my peppermint tea. But not again at that price

We have reserved for 6 people. You are not allowed to put tables together. There was nothing left next to each other outside. Reservations can only be made via a voice portal. There was no suggested solution. The service is a disaster.

Arrived with the stroller. Wanted to go to the terrace. However, no one could get through because the employees had to sit in the middle of the path to smoke with the side door partially open. She sat facing us and still didn't get up to make room. This is bad service

Ambiance and service are great. We had Kaiserschmarren and Currywurst as children's meals and 2 burgers with sweet potatoes and potato wedges for adults. The Kaiserschmarrn wasn't that good. The currywurst for children was very generous in portion, tasty and typical currywurst a little spicy. The burgers are ok, fries and potato wedges are very tasty. Overall, 3.5 out of 5 stars for me. Personally I would expect slightly better food for the prices.

We just had a coffee. I can't say anything about the food. The view is of course excellent - you feel like you're on vacation for a moment. But of course they have to pay for it. I found it borderline expensive (we almost left again). I actually wouldn't come back for coffee. You get the feeling that they are taking advantage of the situation to charge such prices. The coffee was great, but for the price you can also expect a small biscuit, which is often included with others. The service was friendly. However, it took a long time before we could pay even though it wasn't full. Next time I would do it directly when serving. The location is great, the parking situation is great. And you can really enjoy the view.

We were there with 6 people at lunchtime and put together 2 tables on the terrace. We wanted to have lunch and enjoy the sun. We were told very rudely that we were not allowed to put the tables together. But we are 6 people and wanted to sit together... no matter what the "boss" doesn't want, that was the answer. We then looked for another location. It's a shame - on the outside it made a good impression...but it was so inflexible...we didn't expect that. We and the rest of the family won't see each other again. Apparently the store doesn't need to make money.

My husband and I actually really enjoy eating there. Last time, however, the food was lukewarm. The tables were dirty and were only cleaned when we asked, there were dirty dishes everywhere. We were able to place an order after asking three times. We had to wait a whole 30 minutes for this. A family of 6 people put 2 tables together and were told that this was forbidden. When I asked if we could book a table for 6 people outside in advance, we got a clear "no" in response. The boss probably forbade this 🤨 So my family and I can't sit outside and eat together in the summer 😳 I then just said: "Well, that's probably a bad review" and the lady replied: "Nobody here cares about that" 😳🤷‍♀️ They are already rid of us as guests. Too bad 🤔

It was just good again. Appointment reservations with AI worked great - such special requests for a “rollator” were understood. Friendly service, good food, on the table quickly. Ambiance is always very pleasant.

Nice place right on the lake and ideal for something to eat when the weather is good. We had a nice table with a view of the water and could watch the ducks, swans and geese going about their business. The service was very nice and attentive, the food and drinks were served very quickly, even though the shop was full. The food was super hot and extremely tasty, the portions were very large, so everyone was full. I didn't think it was so nice, as soon as you make your reservation you are told that you only have 2 hours, for which you get 1 point deducted. I was there with a friend and we hadn't seen each other for a long time and had a lot to talk about. We still took advantage of the time and the stable, good weather and went for a walk by the lake. All in all a nice place and restaurant and it was worth it.

Nice atmosphere, food is ok, but the service isn't great. We were waiting at the tight entry area where you are supposed to wait to be seated. In the 5 minutes we were waiting there (it wasn't particularly busy) someone from service was passing through and when I didn't directly jump out of the way she rudely said she can't get past, if I'm there. Then we ordered still and sparkling water and they forgot the sparkling water. How hard can it be?

Cafe del Lago has improved greatly over time. There are plenty of free and unlimited parking spaces in the immediate vicinity. The ambience is very nice and high quality. There is a beautiful indoor area and a very attractive outdoor area with unobstructed views of the lake. The quality of the food is high and the price is fair. The menu has something for every taste. Why only 4 stars? The service has improved a lot in recent years, but there is still potential. Something is still missing for a high-quality restaurant in this price range. The staff could be more attentive. Friendliness and politeness are great, but reordering requests or indicating that you want to pay are not always easy. Overall, a very nice and high-quality restaurant, which I am now very happy to recommend.

We were there with six people and pushed two tables together. When we wanted to order we were told that you couldn't push the tables together. We said we would undo everything as soon as we ate. But we should immediately put the tables back the way they were. We did that and then we left. That's it for us, there is no more De Largo.

We would have liked to enjoy the special ambience of the restaurant on Lake Salzgitter. The sun was shining and since we were traveling with 6 people, we put together two tables of four. Unfortunately the boss forbade us to do this and we had to put the tables back. Then we left hungry and looked for another restaurant.

Extremely overpriced. Staff clueless and totally overwhelmed. Even coffee takes an hour. If you want to come back annoyed from your coffee walk, this is the place for you. The ambience alone is worth mentioning.

Preise sind unverschämt und dann auch noch in Salzgitter. Warme Milch für Kinder in einer 0,1L Espressotasse 3,30€, so unverschämt, sie hätten zumindest die Größe vom Kakao lassen können, obwohl der auch sehr klein ist. Den Kakao für 3,70€ in einer 0,25L Tasse. Selbst in Hamburg bekommt man mehr für solche Preise. In anderen Locations zahlt man maximal für so ein Kindercappucino ( Milch in einer Espressotasse) , wenn überhaupt, 1,00€ bis 1,50€. Es ist definitiv kein Besuch wert!! Der Service kam auch nicht hinterher.

Cool location right on the SZ lake, I didn't expect it, a little holiday feeling included 😀👌. Service is friendly and nice, just ask for a drink a little sooner or more often, that would be nice. Food was very good, I had a Caesar salad, what a good portion 👌, but a little less dressing wouldn't be bad or maybe even extra would be enough. But that’s mild complaining at a higher level 😉. Very happy again 🤗

Good food paired with the sensational view of the lake, it couldn't be better. The only downer is that after several visits to the admittedly full restaurant, I had to complain about the bill that was issued. Apparently bills were swapped between tables, but something like that shouldn't happen.

I have on February 2nd. Reserved a table at 6pm and asked for a table by the window if possible. Guests who hadn't made a reservation arrived directly in front of us and were seated at the last free table by the window. That didn't feel fair to me at the moment, so I asked the waitress about it, she was immediately very unfriendly and said window seats are never guaranteed, I know that and that's okay even if nothing is available. But the fact that we made a reservation and asked for a place at the window and others who didn't make a reservation and were at the reception 1 second before us then got a table at the window without a reservation, unlike us, and the service was so unfriendly, we didn't feel like eating there anymore. Unfortunately, I have often had to deal with unfriendly conditions at Café del Lago in the past.

We were there (with reservation) after the “Fireworks of Gymnastics” in Braunschweig. A very nice ending. Extremely friendly and attentive service and delicious food. Definitely even more beautiful by the lake in summer. 🌞😊

At the end of November last year I booked a table for around 20 people at Café del lago for June this year. The occasion is a class reunion after 50 years, to which people from all over Germany appear. The date was confirmed to me and also entered in the reservation book. Today I got a call that this date had unfortunately been canceled in favor of another event with 350 people... You could easily call it a breach of contract. I think under these circumstances I was a regular customer at the cafe for the longest time. It's a shame... So... remember when booking: nothing is safe, not even a confirmed booking.

This location is a very pleasant place where we have had many wonderful times. Whether it's a Sunday brunch with the family or a burger in the evening, there's a lovely atmosphere and delicious food. Then a walk by the lake - what more could you want?

I had a dinner date with my girlfriend this evening. We had another lovely evening. The staff was very, very friendly and accommodating. Even though all tables were occupied, we were served quickly and the food was on the table quickly. It was also very tasty. As always :-) Thank you for the lovely evening and your good work! Today we were at cafedelago, we sat nice and comfortably. The waitress came to our table (name Michel) and said really cheekily that we should get up from our seat. And that others will come. So that was very, very unpleasant for us to say in that tone! you don't. We wanted to get up and leave anyway.

The schnitzel was a pressed schnitzel and came from the deep fryer. Not seasoned and very greasy. The fries were too dark and therefore too hard. We will never eat hot meals there again. The staff was polite.

The food (kale/currywurst) was lukewarm. Shrimp dry, smoked pork dry. Plenty of side dishes. Drinks ok. Service very friendly.

We were there with a group of 6 people. The service was friendly, but unfortunately only tried hard at first. After 2 of us left at 8:30 p.m., we were asked exactly once what we wanted and then unfortunately ignored. At around 9.30 p.m. the tables were prepared for breakfast and we continued to be ignored. We then had to go to the cash register to pay. We weren't the last guests either, the restaurant was still well attended. Unfortunately, the baked potatoes were at best lukewarm and the fries weren't quite cooked through. We always enjoyed being there, but it's very unpleasant as it is. But the ambience is great.

The table was beautifully decorated and then there was candlelight. It was a beautiful wedding day. Thanks to the whole team. We'll come back and spread the word about how beautiful it is there.
