A beautiful restaurant! Absolutely excellent food! Everything is freshly prepared with (what feels like) a lot of love and tastes really fantastic! Almost all dishes are available as vegan versions. A dream for me! They also have apple strudel on the menu as standard, but they also offer very fresh cakes in a display case. Also at least one vegan option! Super! I would go there again at any time. :-) Many thanks to the Großstadt team!!! :-))

Bagels, wraps and pasta or would you rather have a salad? Here you will be looked after in a friendly, courteous manner in a relaxed atmosphere. Everything is prepared with fresh ingredients and a portion of love in teamwork. Anyone who has “difficult” (“I can’t eat that!”) children will make them happy with the children’s menu here. And even responsible dads have the opportunity to change their baby's diapers here.

A beautiful little restaurant that serves very tasty food. There is something for everyone (vegan, gluten-free or with meat). Extra requests are also possible. Simply great!

A small restaurant with a focus on healthy eating and a cozy atmosphere. I particularly liked the baked sweet potatoes and the oven-baked mushrooms. There is only one minus, payment is in cash, but the savings bank is nearby.

We went to the “Großstadt” in Lindau (Island) on Paradiesplatz for the first time today, but certainly not the last time (to be honest, we booked a table again for the day after tomorrow). By the way, we can only recommend booking a table in advance. Since there aren't that many tables there, they understandably sell out quickly. For food: Plenty of choice for every taste. Whether carnivore, vegetarian or even vegan eating habits, if you don't find anything here, you can't be helped - at least from a food perspective. Even if you have food intolerances, there is always a suitable alternative suggestion. About the service: Super nice! So not so exaggeratedly or even unnaturally intrusive nice, but authentically nice. Bomb recommendations for choosing food that you can and should rely on blindly (because it just fits). About the ambience: We sat in the lower “basement area”. There are no windows, but still (or maybe because of that?) very, very cozy and inviting. Not a sterile train station atmosphere but almost a bit “private”. Regarding the price structure: Absolutely worth every cent. And sometimes, depending on the dish, almost for free. In short: If you are on holiday in Lindau (and the surrounding area) and are not necessarily looking for the typical roast with dumplings, the big city is a must for you. We'll definitely be back!

Food is very good and already prepared. But prices are also high. Unfortunately, no card payment is accepted. The outdoor area and upper area are attractive in the style of a student bar. The lower area is dark and narrow. Open electrical connections and torn nails are visible - a lack of safety.

The food itself is okay. I think the prices are generally very high or too high for all dishes. I paid €17.90 for a bagel with a small piece of chicken + a little salad and chips. That's definitely way too much for this dish.

My 70th birthday yesterday on the island was a great experience with a magical dinner at the Großstadt restaurant! Crémant D'Alsace and a delicious one Amuse bouche First course: Beef carpaccio with rocket and freshly shaved parmesan Second course: King prawns in garlic herb butter (a dream of the south) Third gear: Lamb crown in a delicious herb crust with homemade rösti and bacon beans Finally, a small dessert variant All in all, a successful birthday meal 👍 We were very enthusiastic and would like to thank the great hosts and their very courteous staff 🎩 We always look forward to being pampered at our local restaurant!

Discovered on the penultimate day of vacation. The service is super friendly and attentive. Our dogs were given a drink and a treat first, the menu is unusual in a positive sense. A special taste request was taken into account and, to be on the safe side, questioned again so that the kitchen does everything right. The prices are ok, probably because there are a lot of locals there too. The food is perfect.

The waiter made a mistake when ordering, left the wrong dish with the words "I'll leave you this" and in the end we found the wrong dish on the bill. This place will never see us again!

Nice old town cafe with outdoor area. There were four of us and we had to wait a bit until a place became available. Lindau is well attended in the summer months. The food and drinks were very tasty. The wraps are really highly recommended.

Unexpected visit as we thought we were sitting next to the Italian restaurant. But chance only wished us good things, we ate excellently. Instead of salad, serve really nice sweet potato fries and noodles with shrimp and coconut curry sauce. Gladly again at any time

Mega delicious food and very friendly service. The colorful salad is awesome, we also had the Italia wrap, the vegetable cream pasta, the sweet potato fries and the children's portion: pasta with tomato sauce. For dessert, panna cotta and vegan tiramisu. Everyone was completely satisfied! We will be back definitely!

Recommended place to go in the middle of the old town of Lindau for a relaxed and delicious break. It's easy to live in the "big city" - with friendly, patient service and preferably at one of the tables outside on Paradiesplatz (here the name actually says it all) with its very own ambience. The menu is varied and makes it easy to satisfy your hunger well and satisfactorily. The prices are probably typical and, in my opinion, appropriate for this tourist corner. Note: Only cash payment is accepted.

Four of us (2E + 2K) spontaneously went to Cafè Großstadt for lunch and were very impressed by the extensive, diverse and, above all, flexible range of food and drinks. The online menu was helpful in advance. The café offers sensible alternatives for vegetarians and vegans, but also enough options for “meat eaters” (like me). The selection of drinks is creative and delicious - the homemade iced tea was great and there are delicious beers. The staff was very friendly and responded flexibly to requests. The outdoor seating was very popular, but the inside was also spacious and beautiful (and pleasantly cool in the heat). The only point of criticism was the lack of card payment options, but that seems to be a fundamental problem in the region (there are Volksbank and Sparkasse nearby, so don't panic). But it could also have been due to the widespread power outage on the "island" that day and it basically doesn't devalue anything here. We really liked it here and would love to come back. The Cafè Großstadt is recommended for everyone who is looking for more creative and flexible solutions in addition to the standard local cuisine - and with a young, hip charm.

We only had a short rest, drinks only. Coffee well above average. Lots of traffic for this small (otherwise cozy) corner.

As soon as we sat down, our dog got a bowl of water and a treat. The service was very friendly and competent. We ordered an oven-baked sweet potato with salmon and a salad and homemade iced tea. Everything was really delicious 😋 and recommended. I didn't even look at the prices, it didn't matter given such a lovely experience. No card payment possible (just for information, not a criticism)

Courteous staff, quality dishes, portions not too abundant. Slightly flavored bottled water, if you don't like it there is tap water available for €1 for 0.5 l. Nice to find gadgets for children, paper and pencils

We had lunch in this very cozy vaulted cellar with our small wedding party and it left nothing to be desired. We were treated to culinary delights in a very cozy atmosphere. The very large selection of delicacies is lovingly prepared and served in a very friendly manner. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back. Absolute recommendation if you are in Lindau!!!!

Even though I got in touch very late to make a reservation, on Valentine's Day, the big city team worked magic and we still got a table. Thank you. A star is deducted because there's no justification for being CASH-ONLY nowadays. Großstadt is easily one of the best choices for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free food in Lindau. A restaurant such as this with healthier, original and meat-free food is a rarity in the tourism-focused restaurant scene around Lake Constance. The prices are fair too, with lunch including a beer coming to around €25 per person. The menu offers cafe-style fare, focussed on salads, sandwiches, bagels, baked potatoes and soups. Every dish is clearly flagged as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or available as such on request.

One of the few places open on a cold January afternoon. Cute place with great comfort dishes, many vegetarian or vegan options. Had the cauliflower soup and a loaded baked sweet potato. The loaded potato dish was on the bigger side, if you have less appetite consider sharing it. We loved the warm atmosphere, and marveled at the thick walls. Definitely worth coming back. They don’t accept card!

Ich bin mit meinem Mann am Samstag gegen 12:30 Uhr zum Essen gegangen. Wir kommen aus Wangen und haben uns dieser Restaurant gesucht, wegen der Veganeb Auswahl. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht! Einfach überwältigend, klasse und netter Service und das Essen ist einfach Himmlisch 🤤🤤❤️ Wir kommen wieder!

Nettes Lokal indem wir einen sehr guten Bagels Burger und Wrap gegessen haben. Auch Vegetarier bzw. Veganer sollten hier fündig werden. Die Bedienung war flott und aufmerksam. Wir mussten kurz warten bevor ein Tisch frei war aber da hatten wir wohl gerade eine Besucherwelle vor uns, denn danach gab es einige freie Tische.

Selten mit so viel Liebe und Sorgfalt zubereitete Speisen serviert bekommen (wenn ich den Salat ganz aufesse....). Kein Lokal für Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln aber trotzdem ungemein vielfältig. Aufmerksamer und enspannter Service zu angemessenen Preisen.

Un bel endroit pour prendre un café et manger sur le pouce. Le restaurant propose des parts de gâteaux appétissants ainsi que des pâtes, wraps et bagel le tout à prix raisonnable. La nourriture est dans l’ensemble correcte sans être digne d’un grand restaurant non plus. Le service est rapide et sympathique. Dans l’ensemble ça vaut 4 étoiles mais je retire 1 étoile car l’établissement est apparemment en guerre contre le paiement en Carte Bleue. C’est écrit partout jusqu’à la première page du menu. Cette obstination est bien dommage, nous n’avions que 30 euros sur nous ainsi nous nous sommes freinés dans nos consommations. J’aurai apprécié pourtant prendre un café et un gâteau …

I highly recommend this restaurant for its friendly service. We started with the delightful pumpkin-ginger soup. As our main course, we chose the daily special, Salmon with white wine and lemon sauce, salads and a bagel hamburger. The portions were satisfying, and the food was delicious. Note: Keep in mind, they only accept cash.

While looking for vegan & vegetarian options we stumbled upon this place which offers (among others) wraps and bagels in vegetarian, vegan, and non-vegetarian variants. I had a great wrap with salmon, served with salad and a large serving of fries as a side. This might have been among the best wraps I've had in a while! We also had a delicious and a soup called "Energiesuppe", which was very spicy but pleasantly so! The place in general is also just very comfortable and cozy, always with a candle on the table and everything nicely decorated. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely try to make time for it again! One thing to keep in mind: They only accept cash but there is a bank two streets away 🙂

Aufmerksame und freundliche Bedienung. Das Essen (Bagle Burger) war leider enttäuschend und auf dem Niveau eines schlechteren Imbisses.

Nettes, sympathisches Personal, gutes (veganes) Essen und faire Preise. In dieser ländlichen Region ist das für vegan lebende Menschen eine wahre Goldgrube, doch auch Omnivore finden hier sicherlich tolle Gerichte. Komme immer wieder gerne und fühle mich jedes Mal sehr willkommen. Definitiv mein liebstes Restaurant. Macht bitte weiter so!

Das Essen war wieder köstlich. Die Bedienung sehr freundlich, alles in allem ein gelungener Abend. Ich werde auf jeden Fall dort wieder hingehen. Leider hat aufgrund des Besitzer Wechsels die Qualität ein wenig nachgelassen. Der von mir heißgeliebte Indian Wrap war leider nicht durchgebacken und die köstliche Soße fehlte. Das bisschen Currypulver oben drauf, hat es nicht besser gemacht. Ich hoffe, dass es wieder besser wird.

Gemütliches Restaurant mit vielen veganen Angeboten. Personal supernett, man fühlt sich pudelwohl. Ein Ort der Entspannung.👍😀

The Special Bagel Burger is a welcome surprise, the bagel is enjoyable, dense, fresh, sweet-tasing, the patty is flavorful, well-cooked through, the salad very fresh and with a variety of ingredients and a nice dressing, the sauce is slightly spicy and rich in flavor. Overall, this is a recommendable meal for anyone who appreciates a good burger!

Sehr gemütliches Lokal mit sehr leckeren Speisen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben in unserem Urlaub öfter dort gegessen und getrunken. Sehr gut für Vegetarier und Veganer. Auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert!

Die Speisekarte ist interessant und vieles ist auch vegan oder vegetarisch, was wir sehr schätzen. Wir würden sehr freundlich bedient. Lecker war auch, was wir bestellt haben. Nur Preis-Leistung passte nicht ganz zusammen. Aber es müsste mehr Restaurants geben, die wie ihr so gesunde Gerichte anbieten.
