Café am Bad in Bad Wildbad

We visited with two adults and two children (5 and 8 years old) – and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home! The kids were warmly welcomed and even received small games and fries as a welcome gift (even though we had our own games with us – a really nice gesture!). The owner is incredibly friendly and honest – he immediately informed us that if the place is full, it might take a little longer. But in this relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, that wasn't a problem at all. Quite the opposite: The wait was absolutely worth it! The kids loved their fries and small salad ("Wow, those fries are amazing!" 😄), and we adults were more than satisfied with the pulled burger and the "messy" (fries with salad, etc.) – simply delicious! An all-around fantastic visit – great food, friendly staff, child-friendly, honest, and run with lots of love 💛

Small shop with a very nice owner. He praised his dishes at the beginning, and what can I say? He was right 🙂. The ribs were very, very tasty, and the baguette was also good. My wife was also delighted with her "mess." Thank you and get well soon 😎

A very nice and friendly owner, a brilliant chef and waiter, who prepares all the dishes (a small menu, all delicious) from scratch and assists wheelchair users with getting in and out. It will be a great loss for Wildbad when he leaves in a few months.

Small restaurant with a family atmosphere. The signature dish here is definitely the spare ribs. The burger is also not to be missed. Generally, the dishes and sauces are homemade. The owner and chef ensure good conversation and entertainment. It's also worth noting that the owner's dog and cat occasionally roam freely in the dining room. Highly recommended!

A spontaneous evening visit after a day at the thermal baths. There were hardly any guests left, but the owner stepped back into the kitchen for us. The food was fantastic, all homemade, superbly personalized. We haven't eaten this well in a long time, so many thanks to the owner!

Tried the spare ribs for the first time. I really should have eaten here sooner. Like everything else, they were simply incredibly delicious. One guest got a bit abusive, but the owner handled it with aplomb. Luckily, it didn't spoil the atmosphere for the evening. We always love coming here!

Last fall, we came home from the thermal baths hungry and wondered what we could eat. Then, by chance, we saw the burger sign for the Cafe am Bad and went straight in. Since it was already quite late, there was only one couple in the dining room besides us. The owner gave us a warm welcome, even though everything had already been cleaned by closing time, and served us ribs with fries and garlic bread. I would describe the atmosphere in the restaurant as rustic (dim lighting and candles in bottles on the tables) but it was simply fantastic for our taste. The food was absolutely fantastic, and we definitely wanted to come back, but unfortunately, we haven't been able to yet, as the last time we cycled past, it was still closed. Since we're sitting together right now, thinking about having the ribs again, and the owner, Fabian, told us something during our last visit, we just searched online for "signs of life"... We came across the comment on Ni Na's entry, had a good laugh, and know we can still come by. For anyone else thinking about going to the Café am Bad and not just wanting coffee and cake (just kidding), just do it. We were truly impressed, both with the ambiance and the food!

Extremely slow service: 35 minutes wait for the food, followed by another 15 minutes for the bill. Fries were dripping with grease and simply tossed in mayo – I don't like mayo, dipping bowls would be much better. This meant that the burger also slid into mayo, which was anything but appetizing. Overall, the food was poorly presented – it came with a Zewa paper roll. The burger tasted average: good patty, soggy bun. For €22.50, it's disappointing value – a maximum of €13 would be justified. The ambiance is okay, a wild mix, but has a certain charm. Service is friendly, but seems overwhelmed. Apparently, the owner cooks and serves at the same time, which explains the long waits. The dog in the restaurant – cute, but questionable in terms of hygiene. I wanted to order an Aperol Spritz, but the reaction was "I'd have to walk upstairs, oh no" – so I stuck with a shandy. Conclusion: not recommended.

The food is absolutely fantastic, absolutely delicious. The service is very friendly and fun. Prices are good too, especially for such amazing quality. Reservations are recommended on weekends. Note: They don't serve coffee, but the food is 100% worth it.

This small, unassuming restaurant is a MUST-VISIT in this town. We ate the best spare ribs in the country here. We also had an excellent salad and a dish called Sauerei (sausage). An explosion of flavor that you simply have to try. The owner, who is also the waiter and chef, is a cool guy. Always has a joke ready. He's a master of his craft, and I can only advise everyone to enjoy the dishes for themselves. We felt so comfortable that we stayed for several hours. We'd go back anytime! If you're coming with several people (we were six), you should reserve a table. Otherwise, just drop by and enjoy.

This place has the very best spare ribs and burgers for miles around Bad Wildbad. Cool atmosphere, cool music, friendly owner! Everything was perfect for my husband, son, and me and couldn't have been better. 👌🏻 That's why we immediately reserved a table for the following day. 😇 We didn't regret it and would definitely do it again. My advice: Don't miss it and definitely go there if you're in the area! The ribs and burgers are absolutely amazing!!!

People go there! The service was friendly and courteous, the atmosphere is relaxed and we immediately felt at home. You could immediately tell that the owner really stands behind his dishes and I think he can be really proud of them! I have never had such good spare ribs and would have loved to try them up and down the entire menu. It's really bad luck that I was only in Bad Wildbad for a weekend, otherwise I would be a permanent guest here!

A super relaxed host, in a small former “cafe” right next to the Palais Thermal. Super tasty American food, great fries and a small but nice menu. We are thrilled, there is a lot of passion and super-friendly service here. Pearls like these simply need to be supported, give great food a chance! We've been there twice and, apart from the scambis, we've eaten everything so far and found it to be really tasty.

Reviews seemed good. The hours posted are not followed and even though people were in the cafe we were told they weren’t opened until much later. They were supposed to be open. Reply received 3 years later and we’ve been. Back multiple times to similar outcomes. The people had their bare feet on tables out front and I’m not sure I would’ve eaten there even if they allowed us in during their open hours. Feet on tables doesn’t seem sanitary.

The food, from the burger to the fries to the salad, everything was simply delicious! You can taste the freshness and quality, for which you are happy to pay a few euros more and anyone who likes burgers but hasn't eaten one there yet should definitely get it very soon, as long as they are still around!!!! It's definitely worth it because it's simply a pure taste experience!!!!! The atmosphere is small but FINE! The service is very charming! Have fun trying it and enjoy your meal

Don't expect too much for the price. Other restaurants there can do that better, we were told afterwards. Won't be coming back, we didn't like it there and the service isn't good. Well now we know. Too bad about the money.

Mega nice chef and cook! We were a large group with many children who reserved a table here. They have set up a table with games especially for our children. And we had already prepared warm fries for our gang of robbers. The chef showed us the meat and went over the small but perfect menu with us. A perfect service and very tasty food. Reservation is recommended! You can leave the strollers at the door. (For wheelchair users: toilet is not barrier-free and it is a bit narrow)

Soooo super delicious. You can tell that the host/chef prepares his food with love and passion. He "explained" all the dishes on the menu to us, i.e. how he prepares them, where the meat comes from, how long he cooks it for, we were even allowed to see the meat from which he freshly prepares the paddy for the cheeseburger or where he got it from Salad and vegetables are sourced... Except for the burger rolls, he makes everything himself, even the ketchup and mayo, everything is incredibly tasty and fresh. My pulled pork burger was truly the best I've ever eaten. The menu is small, but we'll definitely come back often until we've tried everything. And the prices are really unbeatable. The rooms are not necessarily attractive, small and a bit old, but with the great food and the friendly host you can easily ignore that.

If you want to immerse yourself in a cool, relaxed atmosphere and simply forget about everyday life, this is the right place for you. Fabian with his cool, relaxed manner and his wonderful cooking skills is simply great.

Different than expected. The best burger of your life might be lurking in this small, old-fashioned restaurant. The menu is quite small, but told with passion by the laid-back owner/innkeeper/chef/FunkyJazzMusicLover. Almost everything is homemade and homemade. The bread is great. You have to take a bit of time and maybe not look and evaluate things too closely here and there. In any case, we had a good time there and ate sensationally well. Repeat guarantee.

Great 🍔. The best I've eaten in Germany so far and there were a few. As an American, I love burgers and this one was really good. The quality of the meat was really great and so was the topping. Fries were homemade and the smoked mayonnaise 🤤🤤🤤. The location is absolutely chill 😉. The menu is small but nice, I'll be in town for another 3 weeks and will try at least 2 more dishes. Ps: I would try the Gin Basil Smash if I were you 🤘🏽

Had a wonderful experience here in the restaurant this evening. The food was very high quality and a taste explosion. They were the best burgers and spare ribs we have ever eaten. The ingredients compliment each other perfectly. The homemade fries are what you expect from fries, it tastes like fried potatoes. The boss and owner of the restaurant was very polite and nice. He responded to each guest personally. The card was also presented personally by him beforehand. The whole ambience in the restaurant is what you expect when you go out to eat somewhere. For us an experience that we will never forget. Thank you for that!

This little restaurant is an insider tip. We went there by chance because the mother-in-law was in rehab. Great owner. The food is mega. Spareribs, burgers, pulled pork and the shrimp are simply great. Plus the homemade bread and the great fries with the homemade mayo. Since it's a bit away from home, we combine going out to eat with a visit to the thermal baths in Bad Wildbad.

Beautiful bar in the center of Bad Wildbad, it's run by a young guy who's very kind and nice to customers, he knows what he's doing. For dinner I highly recommend the hamburger, they make it starting from the raw cut of meat (which they obviously show you first). Also serves local beer. Highly recommended!

Our first impression was a rather boring atmosphere and high prices. Don't let that put you off. But we tried it anyway and it was totally worth it. Not fast food, this is art! The owner explained and even showed us the high quality ingredients!! The two dishes were both outstanding! Absolute recommendation. Gluten intolerance has been taken into account 👍

I was here at the Sommer-Heinrich Clinic 2 years ago as a patient and a fellow patient recommended it to us and every time we are here for a weekend (this is now the 3rd weekend we are here), it is a must to go by there twice. Small menu, but exceptionally good food! I usually leave restaurants disappointed. It was perfect here! Everything is fresh and homemade (except for the salad 😉) and you can taste it in every bite! The food here is incredibly good, no matter what dish you try on the menu! It's worth coming here from the Ruhr area!! It's not a run-of-the-mill restaurant. It's like being invited to your friend's house, so the place has a special atmosphere. There's always great music playing and lots of great conversations. Whether inside or outside, the visit is worth it! I always enjoy being here and give 10 stars clear recommendation! 💙
