Bustan Restaurant in Mannheim

I had wanted to visit this Persian restaurant for a long time. Unfortunately, my visit was a huge disappointment. The atmosphere was completely different from what I had imagined—very crowded and extremely loud. The service was very inattentive; there was neither a friendly smile nor a pleasant greeting. After standing for a long time, we were finally given two seats right by the entrance with some difficulty. Since Iranian cuisine is similar to my home cuisine, I deliberately wanted to order familiar dishes. We ordered rice with sabzi, and I also ordered chicken in sauce with rice, as well as eggplant and pomegranate juice. The appetizer was very tasty. However, my husband's sabzi dish tasted very bad—a completely unfamiliar, unpleasant flavor that we didn't like at all. My chicken was cooked well, and the walnut-like sauce was also delicious. The rice dishes, however, were a huge disappointment: very dry, and what's more, it was advertised as saffron rice, even though it was actually just turmeric rice; there was no saffron flavor whatsoever. Since I often cook with saffron myself, I know exactly what it tastes like. Despite all these negative experiences, the bill was extremely high—almost 60 euros. I haven't left a restaurant so disappointed in a long time. Unfortunately, this visit was a real letdown.

We went to Bustan today and had a very delicious meal. We had a mixed appetizer platter for two (No. 11) and I had Bakhtiari Gerdui (No. 43) as my main course. The Persian coffee was the perfect finishing touch. I can absolutely recommend this restaurant. It was excellent in both taste and price. We will definitely eat there again.

Since I also grew up partly in Iran, I'm used to the cuisine. And this restaurant is excellent and authentic.

The food was mediocre, the sea bream was very dry. All the dishes looked very similar. The service was disastrous, the wait times were long, and the staff weren't particularly friendly. Conclusion: very disappointing, once and never again.

Amazing food, loved every bit of the preparation. The chicken was extremely well cooked and also super impressed by the rice.

We ordered a kubideh and baghalipolo and it was very tasty and Iranian, especially kubideh. No parking but you can park in the stree nearby. The staff were very kind. Almost always busy and better to book before hand.

I will definitely not visit this restaurant again and cannot recommend it to anyone.

We spontaneously decided on this restaurant for dinner. We got a table for two around 7:30 p.m. The restaurant is centrally located in the center of Mannheim and is easily accessible by public transport. The decor is appropriate and tasteful. The food selection was large and varied. We chose two starters and two main courses. All four dishes were delicious. The lamb was tender and the mango chutney was divine. We'd be happy to come back.

I found the Bustan restaurant because it was 50 meters from the "Waschfreunde" laundromat. The restaurant is located between two streets, and the beer garden takes up the entire property. A tram rumbles by on the left or right. Everything is under trees, umbrellas, and bushes; so far, it's been well-made. You sit comfortably on sturdy plastic/metal chairs with armrests at tables with oriental tablecloths and thick transparent mats. On a humid Friday evening, it was full inside, and there were about 35 people in the beer garden. It took a bit longer, but the quality of the food is very good. I had farmer's yogurt with garlic as a starter and a marinated chicken skewer with basmati saffron rice, fried spinach, mushrooms, and a touch of garlic, plus a side salad. Beautifully presented, a feast for the eyes, and very tasty. It's a shame it's not available in my hometown. We would certainly go there more often. The food at the neighboring tables also looked great, and everyone was full of praise for the kitchen. The price/performance ratio was just right.

Food: - Absolutely average, nothing special. - Plenty of options on the menu, but most of them following the same pattern: rice, meat skewer, and what changes is the side dish. - Although, the barley soup is tasty. Service: - Leaves much to be desired. - The beers are served warm (including the Hefeweizen.., after our complaint, the waiter brings them back filled with a lot ice, without even asking. I don't need to explain here what a BEER FILLED WITH ICE turns into. The waiter said the beers were in the fridge. Now, I could recommend them to connect the fridge to the electricity, please. Location: - The terrace is spacious, but you will have five bees and more than six flies hovering over you the whole time you are eating. We couldn’t wait to finish, pay, and leave this place as quickly as we could.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Mannheim. The flavors are rich, and the quality is consistently high. That said, it’s definitely on the expensive side. But if you’re looking for great Persian food and don’t mind spending a bit more, it’s worth it!

Today I was a guest at your restaurant (Mastan Restaurant) for dinner, but unfortunately I did not have a good experience and I would like to share some points with you as feedback: My food (cholu kebab kubideh) was served completely cold. There was no salt, no pepper on my table, and unfortunately the table was very greasy and dirty. I waited for about 15 minutes for the menu to be brought to me, and that was after I forced myself to call the waiter. Considering the name and reputation of your restaurant, such an experience was really unexpected. I hope these points will be taken into consideration and steps will be taken to improve the service. Highly recommended! I recently visited Bestand Restaurant in Mannheim and was absolutely thrilled! I ordered the Soltani dish – a combination of juicy kebab Kubideh and tender lamb fillet – and it was simply fantastic. The meat was grilled to perfection, incredibly tender, and full of flavor. The saffron rice was also perfectly prepared, and the grilled tomato rounded it all off wonderfully. The service was very friendly and attentive, and you immediately felt at home. The ambiance in the restaurant is stylish, cozy, and modern at the same time – ideal for a relaxing evening with family or friends. For me, one of the best Persian restaurants in Mannheim. I'll definitely be back!

Today we went to the Bostan restaurant from Stuttgart just to eat some good Iranian food. We ordered two Sultani plates. The food was served indoors, extremely salty and the leaf kebab was extremely tough. The bad food on the one hand, and the swarm of flies inside the restaurant on the other blinded my appetite and I didn't eat anything. The most notable thing was the behavior of the waiter during the check-out, who asked for a tip while he saw that I hadn't eaten. In the end, we paid 72 euros and twenty cents for nothing and headed back to Stuttgart.

The food in this restaurant is truly outstanding – fresh, aromatic, and prepared with love. Every bite shows that the people here cook with passion. What is very important to me, however – and I know I'm not alone in this – is the way tips are handled. After speaking with employees, I learned that tips don't reach the waiters and service staff. I honestly find that very disappointing. Precisely because this restaurant is owned by a Kurdish family – and in my experience, Kurds are known for their warmth, fairness, and hospitality – I would have expected something different here. From a human perspective, it's simply not right that those who are in direct contact with guests every day, and often do the hardest job, are not properly appreciated for it. I'm writing this in the hope that something will change – because this restaurant deserves full recognition in every respect.

Das Restaurant Bustan besuchen Kollegen und ich schon seit Jahren regelmäßig. Die verschiedenen persischen Gerichte schmecken immer allen hervorragend. Man sitzt drinnen und draußen sehr gemütlich und kann sich, auch wenn viel Betrieb ist, trotzdem gut unterhalten. Die Mitarbeiter sind immer sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Preise sind moderat. Ich kann das Restaurant bestens empfehlen.

We were visiting Mannheim and this place was around the corner from our hotel so we decided to try it. The meats are superbly marinated and perfectly grilled to tenderness. The rice was so tasty and fluffy, too! I had the dish wish walnut and pomegranate sauce (unfortunately, I cannot remember the name). It was a slightly tart, and a very special sauce that complemented the meats really well. I would highly recommend it! The portions are pretty big. I was unsure whether I would be able to finish it, but alas everything was so good and well balanced (I.e. enough salad and rice to balance out the heaviness of the meat), we finished all the food on the table with ease. We sat outside on a nice day. It's a little noisy because it's right next to a street, but it's also fun for people watching

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the food. The eggplant cream was inedible and far too heavily seasoned. The other dishes were also merely okay.

With the best of benevolence three stars, unfortunately the food was not authentic and relatively bland. The typical spices of Persian cuisine were missing. For example, at Mirza Ghasemi I couldn't taste any garlic, the stuffed grape leaves tasted like nothing and the falalafel were dry and definitely didn't taste fresh. Additionally, the Barg Kebab didn't seem to have been marinated beforehand. I really recommend working on quality when it comes to prices.

A really great shop, the food tastes fresh, tasty and good every time. The portions are absolutely sufficient. You can also drop by spontaneously without a reservation, but you should plan on waiting a little for your food.

How little rice do you put??? Rice should be enough for a kebab press. We are not German and do not have a tight stomach, learn this.

We went there on Nowruz for dinner, koubide was ok, barg was out of lamm meat and delicious I would say. Ofcourse it doesn't mean every day the quality is good or not but at least when the restaurant is busy, I think they might have better food.

We had reserved in advance, but apparently our reservation was completely ignored - an employee systematically forgot to write down our name. When we arrived as a family, we were not only greeted coldly and disinterestedly, but we were also accused of not having made any reservations. The disrespectful and completely unprofessional treatment was shocking. No effort was made to correct the error or provide a solution. This incident leaves a very bad impression - you can't imagine such service.

Nothing was right. We arrived early when four other tables (guests) were present. Waiting time was over an hour!? The skewers weren't phenomenal either, just okay, and the sauce was subpar and very bland; the prices are way too high for that! They didn't ask if we wanted anything else to drink, or if everything was okay – extremely poor service. I'll never go back; there are too many alternatives.
