Burgschänke Vetzberg in Biebertal

We were there for the first time today. The food was good, especially the prices were good without the hotspot surcharge, the service was quick and attentive, the seating was pleasant, and it will certainly be even better in the summer.

For those unfamiliar with the Gleiberg region: the view is magnificent and definitely worth seeing. My initial impression (from two visits) after the reopening: the food and service are MUCH better than before the closure. Of course, the small castle doesn't offer fine dining. The selection is also limited (especially for vegetarian dishes). But both of my dinners (schnitzel and "cannonball," each with salad) were excellent. The castle's authentic and pleasant ambiance has been preserved. The service was friendly and efficient. I will certainly return and am already looking forward to sitting outside in the summer.

We were there for the first time since the reopening. The menu is quite small (probably due to the limited space in the kitchen), but perfectly adequate, and there's something for everyone. The food was delicious. Although the restaurant was packed, the service was quick and friendly. Making a reservation is advisable, as space is limited in the old building. The ambiance and view are fantastic. We immediately bought a gift certificate for Christmas, so we'll definitely be back.

That's life... a colleague invited me... so far so good... up to the castle... I went in... the man behind the bar... I've known him for 15 years from the restaurant business - a top professional... ordered food - what arrived - I had the double wild boar sausage with fries - absolutely delicious - a "Schoppe" (a small glass of schnapps) - everything perfect!!! I even met one of the owners at the bar... everything was great... in my opinion - it couldn't be better... top location... it was fun - I'd love to come again... 👍🥂✌

Actually, I expected more here. Home-style cooking like Grandma’s. But unfortunately we didn't get to sit down. The good woman was probably let down by her staff. But I can't do anything about it. We were told in a completely unfriendly manner that we couldn't be served. That's not how it works....... Then it's better to go into a well-deserved retirement. In any case, we won't be coming anymore. Too bad!!!

We sat comfortably on the terrace with a fantastic view. Friendly service and delicious food.

We love coming here. The food is always delicious, and you get a decent portion for your money – including a view. The landlady lives by the motto "what goes around comes around!" I think that's perfectly fine. Others prefer the motto "the customer is king!" but you don't have to put up with everything. If you're a friendly guest, you'll receive good and equally friendly service. We'd be happy to come back!

The view from up there is fantastic—but that's about it. A rude welcome, no cappuccino, no hot chocolate—all of it was impossible because they were apparently too busy... Conclusion: the first and last time... There are much friendlier places in the immediate vicinity!

If you like schnitzel, this is the place for you. Absolutely delicious. Proper pan-fried schnitzel, and really large portions too. The dining room is lovingly decorated, always in keeping with the season. Dogs are very welcome. The landlady hides a huge heart behind her rough exterior (only at first glance). We always feel very welcome and can highly recommend the Burgschänke. ...oh yes, we're not from the village, and we've never been "slapped down" as mentioned in previous comments! ;-)

Schön gemachte Gaststätte. Essen ist i.O. Sehr schöner Ausblick! Leider ist es mit dem Parken so eine Sache wenn man mit dem Auto da ist. In der Nähe von der Burg einen Parkplatz zu bekommen ist ein Lotteriespiel, ansonsten irgendwo im Ort. Der Fußweg zur Burg ist für gehbehinderte nicht geeignet!

Fantastischer Ausblick, gut gezapftes Bier, und wer ein geniales Schnitzel essen will, ist hier bestens aufgehoben!

Super Biergarten mit tollem Blick ins Giessener Umland. Unbedingt mal besuchen.

Immer wieder gerne - wirklich leckeres, frisches Essen. Hier werden noch Schnitzel " gekloppt" und kommen nicht aus der Tüte. Schönes Ambiente und eine sehr nette Wirtin, die sich auch mal Zeit für einen Plausch nimmt, wenn etwas Zeit ist. Preis- Leistung 1A. Wir kommen gerne wieder👍☺

Essen ist gut, aber leider dauert es immer mal zu lange. Aussicht ist aber top deshalb eine absolute Empfehlung

Das Essen, die Freundlichkeit und das Ambiente sucht seines Gleichen. Wer sich hier nicht wohl und gut aufgehoben fühlt ist selbst schuld.

Tolles Ausflugsziel mit guter Deutscher Küche.

Die Burgschänke Vetzberg ist ein schönes Ausflugziel mit toller Aussicht und leckerem Essen. Die Karte ist nicht zu groß bietet aber für jeden etwas und wird alles frisch zubereitet. Ich mag besonders gerne den Lachs auf Bandnudeln mit einer Mandarinensoße. 😋 Essen sollte ein Genuß sein und nicht im Stress passieren und bei der Aussicht verweile ich gerne für einen Moment wenn es voll ist und mal länger dauert. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
