I visited the Roadhouse in Kaiserslautern and had a mixed experience. The food was okay—the portions were adequate and the taste was okay, but nothing special compared to other restaurants in the area. I was less impressed with the atmosphere. During my visit, I had the impression that some guests were treated differently, which gave me a bad feeling. This prevented me from fully enjoying my visit. Even though the location is convenient and the menu offers typical dishes, I personally wouldn't go there again.

Unfriendly like... no matter how good the food is, it's not worth being treated like that

Waffles and wings? Okay, we have to try it. From the outside, it looks like a shack, but it's quite cozy inside. You have to order at the counter, and you can only pay in cash. The chicken wings were damn good. "Messy boneless wings" are dipped in your choice of sauce, outstandingly good. We'll definitely go back for those. The waffle was also delicious, but with the maple syrup and frosting, it was too sweet for my taste. The chicken burger is also legendary. They sell drinks in cans from the fridge; I think it's really cool that they have unusual things, so typically American. The decor inside is also really cool. Pretty rustic. We'll definitely go back for the wings; they're fantastic!

Hi, I was passing through with my mum on Saturday and as an absolute USA fan, stopping there is of course a must ✌🏻 Just the area just before the barracks, with US car dealerships all around, you feel like you are in America, and then there is the K-town Roadhouse, a super cool, quaint shop, styled and furnished with a lot of attention to detail, but styling isn't everything, the owner is an absolute "original", a really cool guy, very nice and wears his heart on his sleeve, exactly my taste! And now the most important thing, the food... I can say it is just mega tasty, not quick, cheap frozen stuff for a lot of money, but you can see the ideas and the quality behind it, it's a shame I don't live nearby, I would definitely be there twice a week 🙏🏻 I will definitely come back to experience the American way for a moment, THANK YOU

For me, this is one of the best restaurants in the area! The waffles are especially delicious. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and just the right amount of sweetness.

Yesterday evening we were there because we visited a friend and he said we have to go there, so said and done, so if you want to have America with us, go there, so friendly and accommodating and even more delicious, always happy to go again when we are nearby, unfortunately otherwise it takes a very long time

We ate there for the first time today and were very satisfied. The smoked wings with waffles and fries were very good. We had the honey BBQ sauce, which we really enjoyed. The other dips that came with it were also very tasty. Contrary to many reviews, I can't say anything negative about the owner. It's more of an original place, so you just have to be able to take a joke and not take every word seriously. We'll definitely be back.

Went to this fine establishment for some fiery wings and a chill night. Things got wild when a customer started talking trash at the counter. The guy behind the register didn’t even blink. He just stepped up and said, “This is Roadhouse. We don’t take no sauce from anyone who thinks ranch is better than blue cheese.” Suddenly the whole place went nuts. People were cheering, chicken wings were flying, and someone started playing ‘Eye of the Tiger’ on the jukebox. Easily the best night out I’ve had in ages. The wings pack a punch and so does the staff. If you can’t handle the heat, don’t step up to the counter.

Not a good host, no changes in menu, a buddy has allergic against onions, he sayed no special orders!. He does not like kids and puts out fake reviews against a friend's restaurant. Stay away!!

I find it really outrageous how openly racist the owner is in response to some reviews, just because they have a foreign name. I hope someone affected by this will eventually report the insults to the police. The food is good, but unfortunately, the shop is no longer accessible.

The waffle was very rich and not very fluffy. The sauces and the chicken were delicious, and the owner was friendly.

I visited this restaurant three times over several months. Each time, the food was overly seasoned and greasy, and I personally did not enjoy the taste. I also found the service unfriendly on each visit, which made the experience less enjoyable. I hope the restaurant considers improving both the food and customer service. TripAdvisor’s rating is 3.2 and Yelp is 2.1. Why is google showing 4.7?

We stumbled upon this place by chance and decided to try it out on the spur of the moment. It's very unassuming but has its charm. The wings are the best we've ever tasted. I recommend any of them with a dry rub, as the sauce is a bit too much for me. The service isn't the friendliest, but you get your food and are treated politely. One of our favorite restaurants in town!

The food in the restaurant was generally okay – solid quality, decent in taste, but nothing you couldn't get just as much or better at other places in the region. What overshadowed the entire visit, however, was the tone and behavior of the owner himself. He served us – and in all my years, I've rarely encountered someone so condescending, unfriendly, and unpleasant towards their guests. There was no trace of genuine hospitality. Instead, there was an unpleasant feeling, as if you were a nuisance and out of place – and that's in a service-oriented establishment. If you also read the other reviews, you quickly realize that this behavior wasn't an isolated incident. Apparently, this is a persistent problem – and that's quite telling. Especially considering the location, right next to a US military base, I find it particularly unfortunate that many Americans – sometimes unknowingly – spend their money here without knowing who they're supporting. Because you don't just go here for a meal—you're also, unfortunately, funding the manners and business practices of someone who, in my opinion, has no place in the restaurant industry. I can only advise everyone to avoid this restaurant. Not because of the food—but because of everything surrounding it. Anyone who values respect, humanity, and a good feeling when paying should steer clear.

By far the best food in Kaiserslautern

SO happy they stopped the chaotic kid atmosphere. I will go here when I'm in town simply for that reason alone! As a single American mom, I can't stand when people let their kids run wild in stores and restaurants. That's what all the parks & playgrounds are for! Grow a spine. Oh and the belgian waffles are AMAZING!! Get the nutella sauce 😁

Love the wings here! And the waffles with the strawberry sauce are my kids favorites! Americans should take accountability for our children’s behaviors that caused the owner so many problems.

This place is NOT kid friendly. The owner was very very rude and made snarky comments about my children being to young to eat in the restaurant and that we should eat outside, because in his words this place is a "mancave and all items in the restaurant are very valuable". He then went on by telling my husband to sit outside while it was pouring rain so that way other customers could sit inside. Mind you we had our infant son who is all of 2 months old. In addition, the food was a solid 3 stars, definitely not worth it, VERY OVER PRICED.

Best chicken wings we've ever eaten! We've tried many wings, but THIS was an absolute experience! The chicken wing skin was perfect, the meat incredibly juicy, and the sauce was so rich that you could taste every bite. We were particularly impressed by the huge selection, including sweet and savory flavors; simply a dream for true flavor lovers. The staff was super friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was lively without feeling crowded. Bottom line: If you're in Kaiserslautern and want to try real chicken wings, this is the place to go! For us, these are the best wings so far! Highly recommended! PS: We even took a portion with us, even though we still had an hour's drive.

I came across this restaurant on YouTube and had to try it out for myself. It's amazing. The food is super delicious. It's not fast food, no, it's always freshly made, and even the sign on the counter says "slow food." You stand in line, order, get a pager, go to your seat, and when the food is ready, it beeps. The food arrives, just like in America, on small trays and in baskets. You really feel like you're in America—the surroundings reinforce the impression: an American car salesman on one side, and the base behind you. And the boss, quite honestly, a character. I have a good understanding of people, and if you behave decently, friendly, and politely, it will be reflected. Thanks for the great food and the impressions from Mr. YES/NO ;-)

Best wings in Europe! Hands down. Anything you get is on point. These wings do not need anything on it. But, if you must then, teriyakii and Lemon Pepper wings are my go-to's. They also have Fish Fridays.... the best.... Sweet Fire Fish is great... if you just want dry rub... Lemon pepper fish is great.

Happened to see an ad on Facebook for "Fish Fry-Day" and decided to check this place out. The owner is a joy and the only thing that outshines him is the food! My wife and I got fried fish plates, Carolina rub and lemon pepper rub. It was a giant filet on top of a bunch of fries. We also ordered the chicken nuggets and waffle and that waffle tastes just like a carnival Elephant Ear. I could eat 10 of them. If you've driven by here and thought about it, you should definitely give this place a try!

I would really like to eat in their restaurant, but unfortunately they aren't open at lunchtime and there aren't 10 horses driving me to Kaiserslautern in the evening. But seems to have really tasty food and a colorful character.

Worst chicken wings I’ve ever had in my life! Poor quality and flavorless. If you like bland then this might be the spot for you. Customer service is also nonexistent here and feels almost hostile!

The owner started making fun of my 5 year old son for wearing a girly necklace and kicked us out. He said he’s a girl for wearing things like that. He gave our money back and refused to serve us. He came out from behind the counter and started physically ushering us out, it would have escalated had I not backed down. Completely shocked - insane situation. He didn’t give us the complaint book so we could record this incident, which I’m pretty sure is illegal. Quoting a few things the owner said: “Get out old man before you have a heart attack” [to my Dad]. “Take your little girl (pointing at my son), he’s a girl.” “Where are you from? You have an accent! You know you are in Germany? Are you from Ukraine? You don’t belong here!” (to my Dad). We are not Ukrainian and my son is not transgender - regardless, this homophobic and xenophobic behavior in the KMC is not at all acceptable and should not go without a consequence. We called the police, waiting now, we’ll see what happens.

Xenophobe and homophobe aggressive owner warning! What happened: The owner of the place - after ordering and paying in cash for the take away food, started bullying my five year old grandson for his "girly jewelry" and bullying me for my "Ukrainian accent" he said. He went into a spiral of his homophobe and xenophobe comments so I asked for the book of complains that he refused to hand over. Then he gave back the money, did not provide the food and aggressively, arrogantly started to push us out physically while calling us names. With no intention for further escalation, we left the Roadhouse and called the German Police. US Military Police also arrived to the scene. The other guests of the Roadhouse in the parking lot complained about the owner's rude and insulting behavior. They said it is not the first time and that the individual is a notorious troublemaker. Statement recorded by the police, further processing ongoing. Strongly recommend against this place. If you go there you will likely be insulted by the aggressive owner.

Roadhouse Ktown is a must for anyone who likes sweet, fluffy waffles combined with salty, crunchy and simply delicious American fast food. The loving decoration from America, the charming and inviting manner of the owner invite you to sit down together, chat a bit and be invited to something new when it comes to food :D Always happy - I come here from Munich to eat!

Went to get food. Me: opens door… Them: … Me: “hello?” I go to open & close the door again because maybe they didn’t hear me come in. Them: “hey! We have orders. If you want fast food, go to McDonald’s!” I left. Won’t ever go back. I’m sure the food is good or whatever, but that comment was rude and uncalled for. Edit: As you can see below, even their responses to customer reviews are rude. I didn't want to jump over the counter, nor did I want quick food. Just wanted to be acknowledged like any other human being that walks into a restaurant. Guess that's too much to ask for.

Some of the best chicken and waffles I have ever had. The waffle was delicious and cooked to perfection! Lots of wings sauces to choose from. The Honey Lemon Pepper is delicious. Staff is very friendly! Food is cooked to order and they prefer cash!

The food is really very good and the decor is very American. There's nothing to criticize there. One problem point, however, is the attitude of the owner. In the reviews he sometimes badmouths foreigners in their black Mercedes who are supposed to go to Mannheim and then the Americans that they aren't all the brightest and then a pregnant mother with her children. I don't know who the owner thinks he is, but I can say one thing. He is extremely RUDE. To use such a tone and make unnecessary statements and sometimes laugh at customers... Damage for a restaurant that has good food but puts customers off with his manner. For me he represents the classic Trump voter. Anything that doesn't suit him is insulted and insulted. All the 5 star reviews are partly due to the sign: Rate us 5 stars and get a waffle for free. Please accept this criticism and change your attitude. The food is great, but your attitude makes it unappetizing. I'm curious what kind of answer will come and whether I'll be insulted and have to go to McDonalds.

I’ve eaten here about 4 times over the past few months. The second time I came into the establishment I paid the owner and he had asked for a €20 bill on top of that as he was low on the bill. No problem, and he gave me a €5 bill and a bunch of coins and asked if we were good, I was counting and I said I don’t think we are, and he said “yes we are, we’re good”. I go sit down to count the change and he ripped me off €5. I decide to let it go, he can have it as a tip I guess and eat my meal and leave. The next time I went in he didn’t have any zero sugar products and I’d never seen him carry Coke Zero there. Today I go in with a Coke Zero from home, asks how I’ve been, and he asks if I was eating there or taking it to go. I said eating here and he says he will not be serving me. He seemed friendly at first so I thought he was just messing with me, but after clarification he stated he wasn’t serving me because I brought in my own drink. I said okay, I just brought it with me because last time you didn’t have zero sugar products. He got angry, and said “oh really?”. Acting like I was lying or something. I looked over at his fridge and he didn’t have zero sugar products including Coke Zero, and said “yeah really”. He got angry and told me to get out of his restaurant and to go eat at McDonald’s. Not sure what McDonald’s has to do with it.. or what the deal is between you and McDonald’s, but you are also reheating precooked foods. You are incredibly insulting to Americans, making discriminatory remarks and calling us “idiots” while you can’t even do basic arithmetic math and have a restaurant right outside of an American military base to get as much American money as you can. You scammed me out of €5 and acted like a child because I brought in a soda from home because I’ve never seen it offered at your restaurant, and it’s a pretty basic and standard soda. You have way too many reviews similar in nature to this so I don’t know what’s going on with you but I wish you the best and hope you can foster an environment where customers can come to enjoy a good meal instead of tension.

We came in 2 hours before closing and got our food within 5-6 minutes! The fries were very well seasoned and crispy the whole meal. I got southern buffalo wings and they tasted great! These were the best wings ive had outside the US. My wife had the boneless wings and she was so happy with how juicy they were!! Absolutely great experience, we highly recommend 👏👏👏

Hey, read your own opening hours! It says 9pm. , not 8pm! And if the opening hours on google are wrong, change them please! Will try to visit you soon, but you should look up your opening hours every month.
