Very nice and fun staff, delicious food, short waiting time, tasty dips and sauces, the meat was very good and the sweet potatoes are highly recommended. We ordered enough and we will gladly come again!

The food is delicious and of really good quality. The meat was excellent, as was the service. However, the prices aren't exactly cheap.

Exceptionally good. First and foremost, the restaurant management. We hadn't made a reservation, but were still able to get a table. They made sure that the kitchen capacity (between lunch and dinner), meaning the wait time, was sufficiently comfortable for us. This was exactly as planned. The food itself, especially the salmon with a generous amount of grilled vegetables (my personal all-time favorite), was outstanding.

We ordered and, as usual, had to wait about an hour for our food. Furthermore, the side dishes weren't served and we had to specifically request them. The steak was cold and of such poor quality that I wouldn't recommend it. So, if you order steak there, you can expect to receive a cold meal! I cannot recommend this restaurant.

I went there today with my son because we wanted to eat. Unfortunately, I have rarely – actually, never – experienced such poor service. The server preferred to chat with guests at the next table instead of serving us. After some time, she finally came and took our order. After about 30 minutes, our drinks were empty, but no one came to the table to ask if we wanted anything else. So I went to the bar and ordered more myself. After about an hour, our food still hadn't arrived. When we asked about it, the staff suddenly became flustered. My son's steak arrived shortly after, but mine didn't come for another 10 minutes. If I wanted to eat alone, I would have gone alone – this is not how I envision a meal with friends. My steak was cold, and my son's was lukewarm at best. After we complained to the manager, the food was taken back and we weren't charged. The manager apologized, and we left. Given the prices, I expected significantly more – especially since it wasn't even particularly busy around 2 pm. If I were the owner, I would have given my employees a piece of my mind long ago. I eat out two or three times a week, but I've never experienced anything like this before. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the taste of the food because we barely got to eat.

The food was good. However, we had to wait 1.5 hours for it, which I think is a very long time for a hamburger and fries. The staff didn't comment on this at all. I found that a bit odd.

It's a shame, because the food itself had potential.

The dessert, which was supposed to be warm, was also served cold. The service was disappointing: We waited over 1.5 hours for the food, drinks took forever, and no one even bothered to check if everything was alright. The staff was unfriendly and seemed overwhelmed. It's a shame... with a little more care and better service, the evening could have been really good.

I had a table reserved for 5:30 pm. Normally, you're given at least 15 minutes' grace period everywhere – but here our reservation was simply canceled, even though we arrived only a few minutes late. In my opinion, absolutely unprofessional and disappointing. That's no way to treat guests. I definitely won't be coming back.

This restaurant is an absolute highlight in our area; the service is unparalleled and the food is divine! We look forward to every meal and the company at Medium Rare Steakhouse!

It was delicious again! The guys with Gambrinus Burgers and my husband with a Black Forest Burger were very busy, but everything was top-notch and tasted great. The strong mountain cheese went perfectly with the Black Forest Burger, and all the sauces were delicious. The service was very friendly and attentive; we'll definitely be back!

As they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words" - I think the pictures speak for themselves :) The meat was cooked to perfection, just as ordered, and tasted delicious. But we can confirm the positive reviews – we had everything from burgers to rump steak and kids' meals, and everyone was very happy with their meal. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. For me, the Medium Rare Restaurant is one of the best restaurants in the region! The service is very friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. The absolute highlight, of course, is the food: The steaks are cooked to perfection, tender, and full of flavor—exactly what you'd expect from a good steakhouse. The sides and sauces are also perfectly balanced, and you can tell that the food is prepared with love and quality. For those who haven't visited the restaurant before, I would definitely recommend the garlic bread as a starter. Combined with the aioli dip, it's a real treat. Unfortunately, the wait was a bit long, but that's completely okay, because the restaurant is always full, and the wait is definitely worth it for the quality.

My favorite restaurant in Villingen. I regularly go to the medium-rare restaurant – usually for the Gambrinusburger without peppers, but with bacon and egg. Or alternatively, the Smash Burger with extra bacon – both are always great! For me, this includes sweet potato fries, cooked to perfection, with the homemade sour cream – both are really good in this combination. And for dessert, either a brownie or cinnamon cake with vanilla ice cream – both are worth it. For special occasions, I also like the Italian rib-eye with fresh grilled vegetables, never like other frozen foods, and the whiskey peppercorn sauce. The meat itself is a poem, best served medium-rare or medium-rare. The quality, taste, and service are always top-notch. For me, it's more than just a restaurant – simply a wonderful moment of enjoyment.

I came with my family and we all had amazing food. The people were very nice and it was a super cozy place.

Five of us were here today, just before the kitchen closed. The welcome was extremely friendly, with a warning that the food might take a little longer. As soon as we were seated, we were able to order and received drinks and appetizers – and the main course also arrived very quickly. Everything was extremely delicious, made with love – some of it (homemade). We were hungry, but the portions were more than enough to fill us all up. At the end, we treated ourselves to dessert and received a very courteous farewell. Highly recommended!

Great restaurant! The menu is available in German and English. The staff is super helpful and speaks both English and German fluently. The dishes are generous and the meat is excellent. It's cooked to perfection. Dogs are welcome, and a water bowl is automatically provided. The only downside is that the restrooms aren't accessible to people with reduced mobility. I highly recommend it!

Unfortunately, it's completely overrated. To be fair, the service is super friendly and deserves to be highlighted by far. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is, if anything, poorly average. The meat tastes bland and unfortunately not the top quality you MUST get for this price and should definitely expect!!! No roasted flavors at all on the meat. The spaetzle is cheap from a package, the salad has been dressed beforehand and has been prepared in the fridge for some time and is no longer crispy at all. Won't be coming back anytime soon. It's a real shame... the place definitely has potential. !!!!!!!!!!!!

We hadden de grillplatter voor 2. Hierop worden 3 stukjes biefstuk geserveerd. De biefstuk was goed gebakken en heerlijk mals. Ook de groenten waren lekker gebakken en goed op smaak. Lekkere frietjes en pepersausje erbij. De kruidenboter moetje van houden (hele sterke rozemarijn smaak). De service is hier erg vriendelijk. Wij spreken allebei slecht Duits maar ze vonden het geen probleem om het in het engels te doen.

I've never eaten such an incredibly delicious burger in my life. The patty was super juicy, cooked pink. The fries were super crispy, and the sour cream was perfectly balanced. The service is super attentive and you're welcome; it's a real pleasure to come here. I'll definitely go again and recommend it to absolutely everyone.

As a Schwenningen resident, you have to admit that you don't realize what gems there are in Villingen's gastronomy scene. It was the unique event for the emergency services that first drew my attention to the restaurant, and it piqued my interest. I was immediately warmly welcomed. And I have to say, it's a super-delicious burger, juicy, smoky, simply amazing. But that also shows that burgers are something different than fast food or industrial goods. The food was pretty good, but we waited over an hour for it! No music, nothing. How can it even get 4.8 stars?

We visited Medium Rare for the first time yesterday. Upon entering, you're immediately struck by the interior, which is modern but also incorporates classic pub elements. You immediately feel at home here. Our starters were mozzarella sticks with sweet chili sauce and garlic bread with an absolutely fantastic aioli dip. For our main course, we opted for burgers. The burgers are all lovingly made with fresh ingredients and taste simply fantastic. After such a great main course, dessert was a must. We had the homemade cinnamon cake and the hot chocolate brownies, both of which were divine, just like the starter and main course. So, we've decided that this may have been our first time at Medium Rare, but it certainly won't be the last. The dry-aging cabinet, where the team presents delicious meats, is also a real eye-catcher. I'm already looking forward to ordering some of it on my next visit. Thanks to the entire Medium Rare team for the great food and service, keep up the good work 👍

We recently went to Medium Rare for the first time. Top service. Top food. Lovely ambiance. Since I can't eat everything on salads, the chef personally explained everything in the salad. I was then able to choose what I wanted and what I didn't. I've never experienced anything like it before. We had burgers and fries. Sure, it's a bit more expensive than elsewhere, but the quality is good here. The prices are completely reasonable. Everything is fresh and of very good quality, and you can taste it. The salad is amazing. We've rarely, if ever, had such a good dressing. All in all, absolutely recommended. Reservations are recommended. We'll definitely be back!! The restrooms take a bit of getting used to, but that's just complaining at a high level. Keep up the good work!! 👍🏻

This was a culinary journey. The quality of the food is simply amazing. You can get excellent meat and incredibly delicious burgers, along with homemade desserts. The service is incredibly friendly and incredibly competent. If you want to eat really well, this is the place for you.
