The staff was remarkably friendly and attentive. The food (burgers) was very good.

This time I had a steak, which wasn't as great as the burger I had last time. That one was really great!

I've eaten here several times, and I've always been completely satisfied.

A very chic steakhouse with very high-quality meat. Therefore, it's not for those on a tight budget. However, if you want to treat yourself now and then and enjoy a fancy meal, it's absolutely recommended.

We decided to go to Medium Rare on our engagement day, and it was the perfect choice! The staff were, as always, super friendly, polite, and attentive. The food was a dream: every bite was incredibly delicious, nothing dry, simply perfectly prepared. They even recommended matching sauces to go with each side dish, which made the meal even more harmonious. To drink, we had a non-alcoholic Colaweizen and an Aperol, both absolutely delicious. You can immediately tell that the team puts a lot of effort into both the service and the food selection. There's something new to discover every time we visit, which never fails to amaze us. A restaurant we highly recommend. We'll definitely be back!

Five of us were here today, just before the kitchen closed. The welcome was extremely friendly, with a warning that the food might take a little longer. As soon as we were seated, we were able to order and received drinks and appetizers – and the main course also arrived very quickly. Everything was extremely delicious, made with love – some of it (homemade). We were hungry, but the portions were more than enough to fill us all up. At the end, we treated ourselves to dessert and received a very courteous farewell. Highly recommended!

We were there for the first time and discovered it through the Schlemmerblock (a German word for "gourmet block"). Everything was delicious; you can tell it was freshly prepared. The dessert was also perfect. Very attentive and extremely friendly service. We'll definitely be back.

Delicious burgers and steak. Great service, exceptional value, small but accurate wine list at very fair prices. The hygiene is superb. This is a busy restaurant run by young hard working owners. Reservation especially in the evenings is essential. VS is a lovely town to have a wander after lunch or dinner.

I give it 5/5 stars We reserved a table through google. There is no parking near the restaurant. It's an area without cars. The table for us was ready. We ordered 2 kids burger and 2 steaks. The steaks were very good and flavored even though the food wasn't hot. Clean restaurant the owners were nice. It was slow service but still we enjoyed the food And they had English menu. I recommend it

Great restaurant! The menu is available in German and English. The staff is super helpful and speaks both English and German fluently. The dishes are generous and the meat is excellent. It's cooked to perfection. Dogs are welcome, and a water bowl is automatically provided. The only downside is that the restrooms aren't accessible to people with reduced mobility. I highly recommend it!

We spontaneously stopped by this restaurant for lunch last Saturday and can highly recommend it! We had a chili cheeseburger with sweet potato fries, a veggie burger with mozzarella sticks, and a portion of regular fries, along with a large (1-liter) and a small (0.25-liter) bottle of water, for a total of around €50. The food was delicious and arrived very quickly. The service was also very friendly, attentive, and child-friendly. We'd love to come back!

Unfortunately, it's completely overrated. To be fair, the service is super friendly and deserves to be highlighted by far. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is, if anything, poorly average. The meat tastes bland and unfortunately not the top quality you MUST get for this price and should definitely expect!!! No roasted flavors at all on the meat. The spaetzle is cheap from a package, the salad has been dressed beforehand and has been prepared in the fridge for some time and is no longer crispy at all. Won't be coming back anytime soon. It's a real shame... the place definitely has potential. !!!!!!!!!!!!

For starters, we had mozzarella sticks and garlic bread. Both were delicious. We all had different burgers with sides. The meat was nice and juicy, and the sweet potato fries were very good. 👍 We had a lovely evening, and the food was very good, which justifies the slightly higher price. We hadden de grillplatter voor 2. Hierop worden 3 stukjes biefstuk geserveerd. De biefstuk was goed gebakken en heerlijk mals. Ook de groenten waren lekker gebakken en goed op smaak. Lekkere frietjes en pepersausje erbij. De kruidenboter moetje van houden (hele sterke rozemarijn smaak). De service is hier erg vriendelijk. Wij spreken allebei slecht Duits maar ze vonden het geen probleem om het in het engels te doen.

There was nothing to complain about. The portions were very generous. However, we still have one point that could be improved. The restaurant emphasizes its love of meat on its menu. You could certainly ask how the meat is cooked. Medium would have been perfect for the burger. Of course, we were still very satisfied. We were here for the first time today, actually inspired by the "Lunch for our Emergency Services" campaign. As soon as you walk in, you're immediately struck by the simple but very pleasant ambiance. You're immediately greeted by the truly friendly staff and shown to your table. As for the food, all you can say is: fantastic! The quality, taste, and value for money are absolutely outstanding! We will definitely be happy to come back! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a top-notch steakhouse and/or amazing burgers!

I heard about this restaurant by chance from my best friend. I'm sitting here right now with the Gambrinus Burger with sweet potato fries and homemade sour cream in front of me. I've never eaten such an incredibly delicious burger in my life. The patty was super juicy, cooked pink. The fries were super crispy, and the sour cream was perfectly balanced. The service is super attentive and you're welcome; it's a real pleasure to come here. I'll definitely go again and recommend it to absolutely everyone.

As a Schwenningen resident, you have to admit that you don't realize what gems there are in Villingen's gastronomy scene. It was the unique event for the emergency services that first drew my attention to the restaurant, and it piqued my interest. I was immediately warmly welcomed. And I have to say, it's a super-delicious burger, juicy, smoky, simply amazing. But that also shows that burgers are something different than fast food or industrial goods. Made with love... *thumbs up* ...You'll see me again :-) At this point, I'd like to take the liberty of saying THANK YOU on behalf of all the emergency services - you know it's not easy being a restaurateur - and then there's an event like this! The food was pretty good, but we waited over an hour for it! No music, nothing. How can it even get 4.8 stars?

We visited Medium Rare for the first time yesterday. Upon entering, you're immediately struck by the interior, which is modern but also incorporates classic pub elements. You immediately feel at home here. Our starters were mozzarella sticks with sweet chili sauce and garlic bread with an absolutely fantastic aioli dip. For our main course, we opted for burgers. The burgers are all lovingly made with fresh ingredients and taste simply fantastic. After such a great main course, dessert was a must. We had the homemade cinnamon cake and the hot chocolate brownies, both of which were divine, just like the starter and main course. So, we've decided that this may have been our first time at Medium Rare, but it certainly won't be the last. The dry-aging cabinet, where the team presents delicious meats, is also a real eye-catcher. I'm already looking forward to ordering some of it on my next visit. Thanks to the entire Medium Rare team for the great food and service, keep up the good work 👍

We recently went to Medium Rare for the first time. Top service. Top food. Lovely ambiance. Since I can't eat everything on salads, the chef personally explained everything in the salad. I was then able to choose what I wanted and what I didn't. I've never experienced anything like it before. We had burgers and fries. Sure, it's a bit more expensive than elsewhere, but the quality is good here. The prices are completely reasonable. Everything is fresh and of very good quality, and you can taste it. The salad is amazing. We've rarely, if ever, had such a good dressing. All in all, absolutely recommended. Reservations are recommended. We'll definitely be back!! The restrooms take a bit of getting used to, but that's just complaining at a high level. Keep up the good work!! 👍🏻

This was a culinary journey. The quality of the food is simply amazing. You can get excellent meat and incredibly delicious burgers, along with homemade desserts. The service is incredibly friendly and incredibly competent. If you want to eat really well, this is the place for you.

We attended a company event at the Burger & Steakhouse Medium Rare. The organization was excellent and accommodating, the staff attentive and very friendly, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was absolutely relaxing. We'd be happy to come back.

A true treat for all the senses! A highly recommended steak restaurant with a super friendly and competent team! You feel at home as soon as you enter – the decor is tasteful and creates a relaxed atmosphere where you can unwind. The food was a real highlight: I had a steak, my son and my husband each had a burger – and we were all absolutely thrilled! The meat was cooked to perfection, wonderfully tender, and perfectly seasoned – not too much, not too little. Just right for the discerning palate. The service also deserves high praise: warm, attentive, and very professional. Our last-minute reservation went smoothly, even though the restaurant is understandably often fully booked – a real insider tip that's no longer that! No matter how big or small, how hungry or not so much – everyone gets their money's worth here. We're always happy to come back.

Someone here has turned his calling into a career! Rarely has a restaurant visit left such a lasting impression on us as the one at Medium-Rare. As soon as we arrived we were warmly greeted personally by the boss. He explained the concept of the shop and the daily specials to us with a lot of passion - informative, charming and simply likeable. The atmosphere is relaxed, warm and full of good vibes - carried by the entire team, who are genuinely happy to be there. And the food? Absolutely awesome! I have rarely eaten such a good burger - juicy, perfectly grilled, with the best ingredients. Our friends' grill plate was also a real highlight: quality and preparation at the highest level. What particularly impressed us: We felt extremely welcome from the first to the last minute. At a time when you feel more like a number in many restaurants, there is real appreciation here. Every order – whether a drink, main course or dessert – was accompanied with attention and personal advice. You can tell: The goal here is for the guest to be completely satisfied - and that's exactly what we were. A real passion project with taste, soul and a great come-back factor!

I had a cheeseburger with fries that was very tasty. 👍🏽

The service was great, super friendly and warm. The salad dressing was very tasty and something different than just vinegar, oil or the standard yogurt dressing The skin gait was good, but unfortunately far from excellent. If I pay €31 for a meal, I of course expect a sauce with it. The guest can choose between herb butter for the steak or ketchup for the fries. He has to pay for one of them again - very bold. Unfortunately, the herb butter with only two mini pieces wasn't enough. What's the idea behind it? Nobody's side dish is dry and you don't eat meat dry either, especially since it wasn't seasoned either. Another tip: leave out the rosemary. I only had the taste of rosemary in my mouth with every bite of the meat. Almost as if you had fried it in the pan with the rosemary? Unfortunately, the taste of the meat was completely lost.

Burger and steak restaurant but they do have vegan, fish and some other alternatives. We had US steak medium rare, perfectly cooked and very tasty, no fat. Greek burger and cheeseburger which comes well done with no choice, as equally tasty. Dessert we had cinnamon cake which is homemade daily and you can smell as they bring it to the table. The menu is only German at the time of writing but they said they would have english in two weeks. However the brothers spoke very good English and helped with menu translation and suggestions. We originally went here on a Saturday evening but they had no availability so booked for the Sunday so ensure you book. Highly recommended 5**

First of all, the food is really good, service is nice. Now the big BUT: you call at 6:10 p.m. and want to order two burgers to take away - the answer: sorry, we don't know when we can do that - give us your number and we'll call you when we throw the burgers on the grill. I'm sorry, what? So dear people - if you have a trained or experienced kitchen and service crew then you can tell the customer on the phone: 20, 20, 40 minutes or whatever - but we will call them when they can get the food - that is really not acceptable people. You have to change that - otherwise I'll never get anything from you again.

The fish, however, was tasty with lots of vegetables, but the fish itself was very small for the price, which we found to be too expensive. Otherwise you can recommend the result.

6 adults, 5 children - everything was no problem and we were all very well served. Super friendly and the service was A1. We all enjoyed the food very much. However, you have to expect waiting times! The only improvement on my part: it was too cold in the rooms for me and the children.
