Burg Ingenhoven in Nettetal

For a restaurant of this category, expectations were naturally high. The food was perfectly fine, albeit lacking in refinement. The portions were generous, so everyone was full and satisfied. The ambiance, however, seemed a bit dated—a touch too opulent and heavy, even for an old castle. The staff was attentive and friendly, which rounded off the overall impression positively. Overall, a solid evening, but lacking that special spark that would entice me to return.

Highly recommended. We've already made reservations again.

Very friendly owner and service team, very well organized, everything fresh and appealing, a bit more spice at the barbecue event would have been great, quality was good and nice ideas. Good selection, filling and not cheap. A bit more expensive, for families with small children it is interesting because of the castle, you should ask...! The decoration in the garden was nice. Inside it is too dark for us personally, too knightly and too much of a castle 🏰 mediocre corridors, steps to the restrooms (even with the changing table in the women's area) were not easy for people with walking difficulties and wheelchair users cannot move inside. The stairs in the entrance are too high and the entire restaurant area is carpeted inside. Unfortunately!! A special disabled restroom according to DIN standards could be built outside. Approval and funding from the city would perhaps be a tip!

The outdoor seating is beautiful! Great food and super friendly and humorous service! We'd love to come back!

Waitress did not react ok to the fact that I had ordered the wrong menu. It was a dish: fish with risotto. I absolutely do not like rice. I think it could have been solved very easily by taking the dish back and serving spinach or potatoes instead of rice. Furthermore, everything was always fine at this restaurant, but this time several things were not ok. In my opinion caused by the waitress.

The whole house has been furnished and prepared with exceptional care, a real feast for the eyes! The attentive service and the professional quality of the food are just as good. The menu is pleasantly varied and seasonally adapted. As a retired hotel manager, it makes me happy to visit such an exemplary restaurant, of which there are unfortunately fewer and fewer.

On the occasion of my birthday, 17 of us were served a wonderful Bochholtz holiday menu. It started with a champagne reception with Odeuvre. We had a beautiful room to ourselves. The atmosphere and ambience were impressive. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. We felt very comfortable and will not forget the day. The crowning glory at the end was the birthday cake with the fireworks and the appropriate music. We always like to come back and can only recommend the location.

We reserved a table with an "introductory menu." Compared to other restaurants, the price is quite reasonable. The food was really good and not run-of-the-mill.

Actually, we haven't been guests here for far too long - and we want to change that again in the future. Because food, service, quiet, dignified ambience, stress-free, comfortable seating... top notch all around. Tip: Cross menu (3 course selection), the absolute price-performance recommendation is the introductory menu.

Service very good despite high occupancy. Unfortunately it was a bit very cold in the castle cellar, which is why we will soon be giving preference to the restaurant again. We were there as part of a Christmas party, there was probably a lot to do, so we were left high and dry for a long time, which was a real shame. The menu included 2 drinks, but you would have ordered more if the waiters had asked more often. In general, we sat quite cramped. If all the employees had come as registered (some were sick), I wonder where they would have found space. Atmosphere etc. of course great as always and when staff were there they were very nice and polite! The food also tasted very good, as expected.

We booked the get-to-know-the-castle menu. I was lucky because the fish was very good. The five other people were not happy. The ice was so hard that it was almost impossible to break it. The salad dressing was very flat. We hope it was just a blip as we want to try it again. Update from November 14th, 2024 This time, food a la carte and service very good. The ambience (especially at Christmas time) speaks for itself.

We were probably unlucky, as there was a party upstairs we waited a long time for everything! I'm vegetarian, the menu is very clear! But if you are also lactose intolerant it becomes very difficult! But eating especially the duck is great! My family loves this duck! And the old castle is super beautiful! It's even more beautiful downstairs!

Once again everything was just right here: a very appealing ambience, excellent food and excellent, loving hospitality. You are welcome to contact me if you know of a better restaurant within 100km where everything is as harmonious as here. At least I'm not aware of any.

I love this old fleur in the rooms of this castle. My oldest daughter celebrated her wedding here. The food is unforgettable for me, everything tasted delicious. I gave my girlfriend a voucher for an introductory menu.

Ausflug ins Hinterland : Burg Ingenhofen ist bekannt für gute Küche. Ja, die beiden Menues waren sehr gut. Kompliment an die Küche! Sehr unterschiedlich der Service. Eine weibliche Servicekraft war sehr aufmerksam und sehr flink. Ihr jüngerer männlicher Kollege verhielt sich flapsig, übertrieben jovial und besserwisserisch. Er war auch flink, aber das wird auch in einer Dorfwirtschaft erwartet - und Ingenhofen hat anderes Niveau. Vorläufig verzichten wir auf weitere Besuche.

Waren zum ersten Mal im Restaurant. Sehr stilvolles Ambiente in altem Gemäuer von 1403. Haben das 3-Gänge Kennenlernmenü zum Preis von 32 Euro probiert. Hat uns allen sehr gut geschmeckt. Sehr ansprechend angerichtet. Werden zum Grillevent im August wiederkommen.

Last Sunday we had a delicious meal in this beautiful authentic castle. Asparagus soup, lamb duo with risotto and grilled asparagus and a delicious dessert. Everything fresh and homemade. Then we have the lovely hostess Sabine who completes the picture. We will come back regularly.

Ingenhoven Castle is known throughout the Viersen district and beyond as an excellent location. The whole family across all generations enjoy eating here regularly and family celebrations are always organized to our complete satisfaction. The food is excellent and plentiful. The service staff are extremely competent and friendly. The ambience is upscale, celebratory and traditional, perhaps a bit “old-fashioned” and by no means “trendy”, but I really like it. Even if it is tempting to park directly in front of the castle gate (employees' cars with special permits are parked there), it is forbidden and costs at least €55 in fines if the public order office comes by. There are sufficient parking spaces only 40 meters in front of the castle. At night you often meet groups of young people in the area around the castle and in Ingenhoven Park (due to the lack of good youth activities in Nettetal). This may seem a bit threatening at first, but I've never heard of any problems there. All in all, I can fully recommend Burg Ingenhoven and hope that this special location will remain with us for many years to come.

We went for the New Year Brunch. The atmosphere was relaxed. The staff were very attentive and the service was excellent. The Brunch was excellent, the soup was so flavoursome, the starter buffet had a good selection of freshly prepared fish, vegetable and meats. The main course for us was duck, it,was fantastic, tge sweet was a fruit compote with ice cream, perfect to end a meal

Gestern zum ersten Mal dort gewesen. Man hat sich bei der Ankunft sofort als willkommener Gast gefühlt. Die Begrüßung war herzlich, Jacken wurden an die Garderobe gehangen und wurde zum Tisch geführt. Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich, gepflegt, rustikal und passt perfekt zur Burg. Die Karte ist sehr ausgewogen, nicht zuviel und eben auch nicht zu wenig. Der Service war sehr gut, hätte bei uns am Tisch aber etwas Nachhilfe über die 4 Weine haben können. Man könnte die Weinkarte vielleicht auch noch etwas erweitern. Die angebotenen Weine sind hochwertig. Die Gerichte sind auch qualitativ hochwertig, sehr schön angerichtet, alle Garpunkte perfekt getroffen ( Gemüse, Rind, Gans ) und wirklich sehr schmackhaft. Hier auch ein großes Lob an die Küche. Die Preise sind, trotz der höheren Mehrwertsteuer definitiv gerechtfertigt. Man hat, wenn man in die Speisekarte guckt, nicht das Gefühl, dass es zu teuer ist und wenn man erst mal gegessen hat sind auch alle Zweifel verflogen. Wir werden demnächst den Brunch ausprobieren. Unser Fazit: Sehr empfehlenswert.

Wil je heerlijk dineren in een oude burcht? Dan is Burg Ingenhoven wel iets voor je. Het restaurant ademt een authentieke sfeer, en je waant je even terug in de tijd. Het personeel is vriendelijk en neemt de tijd voor je. Maar uiteindelijk kom je toch voor het eten, en dat is hier meer dan prima. Leuke gerechten die je niet vaak op een kaart ziet staan. Je kunt kiezen voor a la carte, maar ze bieden ook een 'kreuz menu' aan. Je hebt dan een 3 gangen menu voor een vaste prijs, waarbij je bij iedere gang kunt kiezen uit diverse gerechten. (dit is meestal mijn favoriet)

Die Qualität des Essens war ausgezeichnet, das Fleisch auf den Punkt zubereitet, das Preisleistungsverhältnis angemessen und die Portionsgrößen gut. Punktabzug beim Essen gibt es ausschließlich aufgrund der fehlenden vegetarischen Alternative, welche die Menükarte zur Weihnachtszeit leider nicht bietet. Auf einfache Sonderwünsche (Tausch von Beilagen der Hauptgerichte) wurde eingegangen. Aus logistischen und nachvollziehbaren Gründen musste die Vor- und Nachspeisenauswahl bereits zu Beginn der Bestellung gesammelt genannt werden. Das Essen wurde stets zeitgleich angerichtet. Das Personal war aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Ambiente war hervorragend, insbesondere wegen der liebevollen Weihnachtsdekoration. Wir haben hier sehr gut und lecker gegessen. Wir hatten Schweinerückensteak und Sauerbraten. Das Schweinerückensteak war schön dick und sehr zart. Der Sauerbraten war auch ganz zart. Die Bedienung war freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Wir haben uns hier wohl gefühlt.

Sehr schönes mittelalterliches Ambiente und super leckeres Essen.

Wenn ich hier enttäuschte Kritiken lese, frage ich mich, wie es sein kann, dass immer an den Tagen, an denen wir die Burg Ingenhoven besuchen, offensichtlich genau die freundlichen Gastgeber anwesend sind, die andere nicht getroffen haben. Auch was das Essen angeht, scheint sich bei unseren Aufenthalten immer ein besonders guter Koch und eine sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung unser angenommen zu haben. Wir gehen nun seit vielen Jahren immer mal wieder dorthin. Ob Wildterrine oder Gänsebrust, es ist immer ein Highlight, gerade in dieser Vorweihnachtszeit. Die Dekoration tut ihr Übriges um aus einem Restaurantbesuch ein Erlebnis zu machen. Die offenen Weine, in unserem Fall Spätburgunder und Merlot, sind gut ausgewählt und passen selbst zum Rotkohl sehr gut. Alles in allem , war es auch vergangenen Freitag ein sehr schöner Abend im Kreise unserer Familie.
