I discovered Jörg's Bulettenschmiede through Holle. It's very close by. I thought I'd stop by. An absolute delight! Today I had two perfectly fried, juicy meatballs with heavenly creamy mashed potatoes and fantastically seasoned red cabbage. The whole thing was topped with a rich, dark gravy that perfectly rounded out the dish. ​Every bite was a true delight. The meatballs were wonderfully crispy on the outside and tender and flavorful on the inside – just as they should be. The mashed potatoes were freshly prepared, and the red cabbage had the perfect balance of sweet and tart. You can simply taste the attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients. ​An honest, incredibly delicious, and filling meal that I highly recommend to everyone. I'll definitely be back! Big praise to Jörg and his team!

Visited during lunchtime. No greeting from the staff. A glance at the upper boards made me hungry for the oven-baked schnitzel (cordon bleu). One of the two ladies replied, without having ordered yet, that we could only have what was listed below. When I asked what would happen if I wanted the oven-baked schnitzel, the answer was that it wouldn't be available. I then opted for one of the lower dishes. It tasted good, the portion size was good, but it wasn't hot. I paid at the end, but there was no question about whether I enjoyed it or anything like that. We stopped there for breakfast while passing through. The rolls were delicious, and you could help yourself to a cup of coffee. The staff was very friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. We'd be happy to come back.

I visited the Bulettenschmiede for the first time today and bought six meatballs to take home. Honestly!!!!! TOP-notch, superb, I highly recommend it. Super delicious, beautifully seasoned, just like Grandma used to make. I'll be buying more often from the Bulettenschmiede now and enjoying the lunch specials.

The food was simply outstanding! It's exactly what you'd expect from a snack bar, food like your mom made! Friendly people both at and behind the counter, a relaxed atmosphere, and reasonable prices. It's worth every detour; we'll be happy to come back.

I saw the reports a few months ago. So today I went there from the Verden area to finally see the place and try the famous meatballs. I ended up with Bullenwange, or whatever it was called(?). Being from Saxony, I'm rather unfamiliar with mashed potatoes, but then I discovered mashed potatoes and some delicious red cabbage. Afterward, I had a meatball for dessert. It was a fantastic meal; the long journey was worth it. The service was very friendly, and what I particularly liked was the fact that Jörg lifted the lids on the pots to show what each dish looked like. Great!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍

Delicious food (home-style cooking, you could say) at reasonable prices. The staff is exceptional, genuine. It has the ambiance of a snack bar, but that's precisely what makes it so endearing. Finally, I've arrived in meatball heaven! Today I ate a juicy and tasty meatball with a delicious curry ketchup. It was accompanied by wonderful, tasteless fried potatoes. The salt mill was already at hand, though. Overall, it was a satisfying experience. Although I had expected a bit more, that's just how life goes. Out of sympathy for German snack culture and this lovely forge, I'm giving it five stars, even though objectively it should be four. But no matter, it was delicious and tasty and good. I'll definitely be back.

Great, good selection and advice, with hand-forged meatballs. Tasted good, and the meatballs are still delicious a day later, fried. But be aware of the opening hours: 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.; not all dishes may be available after 2:30 p.m.

We were passing through and arrived a little after the shops closed due to traffic. Jörg was still there and even made us his famous meatballs with their special sauce and potato salad. He was incredibly nice and delicious. He even took time for a chat and photos. It was lovely. A great end to our vacation.

I know the Bulettenschmiede from the documentary and was keen to try it out. I've been there twice so far. The prices are perfectly reasonable, and you get full. The food tastes good to very good. However, I didn't get a wow factor, but that might be due to the number of customers. The Schmiede is no longer a little insider tip, but rather a small processing line. The quality of the food, however, is nothing to be ashamed of. The charm from the documentary is now lost, as it's very busy. Perhaps there's a time window when it's quieter.

Best meatballs with homemade sauce

So, I went there for the first time on Wednesday for breakfast and again on Thursday for lunch. Unfortunately, I was there too early for breakfast because the egg variations aren't available until 8:00 a.m. But never mind, new day, new attempt 😅👍 Still, I ate a delicious schnitzel roll with a fried egg. Today (Thursday) I treated myself to smoked pork with red cabbage and mashed potatoes. It was simply brilliant, I can say. The atmosphere in the shop was great, and behind the counter, there was a lot of wit and humor. Unfortunately, I live in Laatzen, but I'll be going there more often, if only for lunch. Conclusion: Great food 👍 Great service 👍 Good parking 👍

I had the meatballs with fried potatoes and sambal sauce. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes had little flavor, and the sauce was also quite bland. The meatballs were okay, but nothing special. Overall, I expected a bit more flavor-wise.

Not my thing...everything's too greasy for me. The young waitress is completely out of her depth. You barely say what you want and they forget it again. Jörg just knows how to advertise.

Today I spontaneously drove 70 km to Jörg's Buletten Schmiede and I didn't regret it! Delicious, honest, home-cooked food, the kind you rarely find these days. I had goulash with mashed potatoes and red cabbage, and it was absolutely delicious! Of course, since I was there, I had two meatballs packed up to take home, which I highly recommend. The staff were friendly and cheerful, and despite his back pain, Jörg was friendly, relaxed, and brave on the counter 😅 I wish you a speedy recovery, and I will definitely come back and try the other delicacies.

If you haven't eaten here yet, it's your own fault. If you don't know what you want, you can ask for advice, as there are different dishes available daily, which you can also create yourself. You can tell that the chef enjoys cooking and is always willing to experiment.

Sure, the shop is quaint and definitely an original... But in my opinion, it's overrated. I've never eaten a meatball this salty! The price is a bit steep, too, in my opinion. But I think, in the end, you have to try these places for yourself to judge them for yourself. It's not my cup of tea.

I discovered it by chance on Facebook. I even found reports in the HAZ newspaper and NDR. So, of course, I had to try it out. It was really worth it. Truly "food like mom's." And Jörg is just as described: super nice and friendly. We'll definitely go there again.

I didn't know the location before, but when I arrived and enjoyed the delicious home-style food, I realized that this friendly shop with the boss and the staff is great! I will come again and the prices are very fair. Today I had the goulash and then the currywurst. Simply delicious! And for just under €20 with a drink!

That's what I call home cooking. We happened to be in the area and my friend really wanted to go to Jörg's Büttenschmiede because he saw some report on N3. It's just a meatball factory...you can't expect much from the ambience. BUT The staff is really super nice and the food is just real home cooking. You'll be full and leave satisfied.

The food was really amazing. People used to say “feed like mothers”. I don't know the last time I had such good fried potatoes. Price performance ratio unbeatable and Jörg the boss is a very nice guy who really cares about his guests. I hope you stay in Hannover for a long time. Greetings Patrick

This "smithy" is a place to get good home cooking that is fun to prepare and served at fair prices. Not only does it taste very good, but everyone gets full here too. Thanks to Jörg and “The Girls”!!

Cool documentary on NDR I have to test it

My husband and I went here for lunch today. My husband had a currywurst with fries and I had goulash with noodles. Something I can only recommend, the meat tasted just as good as it was tender. It wasn't the last time we were here, we'll be back.

I took a detour while passing through to try the legendary meatballs, I didn't regret it, simply delicious, a must visit for me from now on when I'm traveling in the greater Hanover area. 😋

Jörg would be recommended to me over the radio in the Brummi, when Hanne goes to Jörg's Bulettenschmiede. So off to Jörg for a 30 minute break... The owner is great.. Friendly, accommodating, you can tell that he used to drive a truck himself. Had lunch and it was lavish and 2 Nobel Schröder for on the go. Thanks Jörg! Meatballs were absolutely amazing, Jörg himself, an incredibly nice personality, immediately rattled off the entire offer to me. I bought 2 meatball rolls (€5, unfortunately the prices are up but we know how things are going at the moment) and another roll with homemade coarse bratwurst. Infinitely delicious, nice with cocktail sauce, the rolls are fresh from the bakery, the meatballs have nice onions, extremely juicy, like mom's. I will always come back!

Stopped there on the way to Hamburg. Asked locals if it was worth it, it was agreed with a positive answer and what can I say, I was definitely not disappointed. For lunch I decided on a schnitzel dish, with a sauce that I didn't know, quite spicy, I trusted the very friendly service and here too I wasn't disappointed. I went to Jörg's for lunch today with a friend. I saw the report on NDR. Jörg is just as horny as you see him on TV. My friend had currywurst/fries and I had turkey and chicken steaks with fried potatoes and vegetables. Both super tasty, large portions and a top price-performance ratio. Jörg's Bulettenschmiede is definitely worth a visit. We'd love to come back.

We went to the Bulettenschmiede for the first time today after seeing the report on NDR. Jörg is just as likeable in person as he is on television. Always have a relaxed saying and a cheerful disposition. The food is super delicious. We had a bulette, the cordon bleu and a mini knuckle. All with classic side dishes. Fried potatoes, red cabbage, mashed potatoes and sambal and mushroom sauce. I can't complain about anything. Everything tasted good, was at a good temperature and was crunchy, just as crunchy should be. The prices are more than fair, I think they're almost too cheap. Make sure you still earn something :D My girlfriend and I will definitely be back, see you soon!

Had boiled beef for €12.50. Tafelspitz with sauce itself is great with stars. Nothing to complain about. Fried potatoes not great and burnt too. I like greasy, but this was too much. Red cabbage is not my taste. But everyone is different.
