Honest German cuisine. No fancy-schmancy portions, just proper portions, the way they should be. When you work hard and are hungry. He has my respect for that alone. I'd even pay more. I much prefer a place like this to the tenth kebab shop in the village that's so careful not to put too much meat on the kebab. These aren't huge portions, but they're absolutely fair. If I lived nearby, I'd be a regular.

There were three of us (three young guys) at Jörg's for the first time. The staff and Jörg were really very nice; he took his time and was friendly. (He even came outside for a quick photo.) Plus, the food was absolutely fantastic! Good prices, large portions. Everyone will leave satisfied!

Best place for good German cuisine!

Having lived in Hanover for two years, I only recently became aware of Jörg's restaurant through an NDR documentary and drove there the very next day. A wonderfully rustic and cozy atmosphere that impresses with good, delicious, and simply honest cuisine. While kebab shops are popping up on every corner, here you find honest, traditional German food at a price that Jörg could easily raise by 20-30% and still be very reasonable, considering the work he and his team put in. I was certainly happy to have discovered it and will be back soon.

Delicious food and friendly service, a real insider tip!

Today I traveled all the way from Wetzlar in central Hesse to Jörg's meatball shop by public transport after watching the documentaries several times and getting hungry. He and his two employees are very friendly and just like they are in the videos. One of the employees even packed the raw meatballs for me because otherwise they would have dried out. I had a meatball with red cabbage, gravy, and fried potatoes... Unfortunately, I completely forgot to take a picture... Absolutely delicious and highly recommended.

This place has achieved some fame online – and we were curious. If you're planning a stopover here on your way home across the country and are looking forward to it, a handwritten sign saying "Company Holidays" is truly disappointing: why can't that be posted online? We weren't the only ones in front of the surprisingly closed door. Such a shame...

Based on the good reviews online (YouTube), we also thought we absolutely had to eat at Jörg's Bulettenschmiede. I ordered the plate with two meatballs, vegetables, fried potatoes, and sambal sauce. Hmmmmmm... Meatballs = salted to the limit, I can only repeat / for me, they were absolutely oversalted and barely cooked. Buttered vegetables = okay Fried potatoes = not really hot, unfortunately only lukewarm and sometimes not cooked at all. My wife had red cabbage instead of buttered vegetables. Red cabbage = we had the feeling that the red cabbage was made of cloves. BOTTOM LINE: For truckers and the like who don't have the means to cook their own food, it's definitely okay, but it's definitely not like Grandma's (old German) cooking.

I discovered Jörg's Bulettenschmiede through Holle. It's very close by. I thought I'd stop by. An absolute delight! Today I had two perfectly fried, juicy meatballs with heavenly creamy mashed potatoes and fantastically seasoned red cabbage. The whole thing was topped with a rich, dark gravy that perfectly rounded out the dish. ​Every bite was a true delight. The meatballs were wonderfully crispy on the outside and tender and flavorful on the inside – just as they should be. The mashed potatoes were freshly prepared, and the red cabbage had the perfect balance of sweet and tart. You can simply taste the attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients. ​An honest, incredibly delicious, and filling meal that I highly recommend to everyone. I'll definitely be back! Big praise to Jörg and his team!

Visited during lunchtime. No greeting from the staff. A glance at the upper boards made me hungry for the oven-baked schnitzel (cordon bleu). One of the two ladies replied, without having ordered yet, that we could only have what was listed below. When I asked what would happen if I wanted the oven-baked schnitzel, the answer was that it wouldn't be available. I then opted for one of the lower dishes. It tasted good, the portion size was good, but it wasn't hot. I paid at the end, but there was no question about whether I enjoyed it or anything like that. We stopped there for breakfast while passing through. The rolls were delicious, and you could help yourself to a cup of coffee. The staff was very friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. We'd be happy to come back.

I visited the Bulettenschmiede for the first time today and bought six meatballs to take home. Honestly!!!!! TOP-notch, superb, I highly recommend it. Super delicious, beautifully seasoned, just like Grandma used to make. I'll be buying more often from the Bulettenschmiede now and enjoying the lunch specials.

I saw the reports a few months ago. So today I went there from the Verden area to finally see the place and try the famous meatballs. I ended up with Bullenwange, or whatever it was called(?). Being from Saxony, I'm rather unfamiliar with mashed potatoes, but then I discovered mashed potatoes and some delicious red cabbage. Afterward, I had a meatball for dessert. It was a fantastic meal; the long journey was worth it. The service was very friendly, and what I particularly liked was the fact that Jörg lifted the lids on the pots to show what each dish looked like. Great!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍

Finally, I've arrived in meatball heaven! Today I ate a juicy and tasty meatball with a delicious curry ketchup. It was accompanied by wonderful, tasteless fried potatoes. The salt mill was already at hand, though. Overall, it was a satisfying experience. Although I had expected a bit more, that's just how life goes. Out of sympathy for German snack culture and this lovely forge, I'm giving it five stars, even though objectively it should be four. But no matter, it was delicious and tasty and good. I'll definitely be back.

Great, good selection and advice, with hand-forged meatballs. Tasted good, and the meatballs are still delicious a day later, fried. But be aware of the opening hours: 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.; not all dishes may be available after 2:30 p.m.

We were passing through and arrived a little after the shops closed due to traffic. Jörg was still there and even made us his famous meatballs with their special sauce and potato salad. He was incredibly nice and delicious. He even took time for a chat and photos. It was lovely. A great end to our vacation.

I know the Bulettenschmiede from the documentary and was keen to try it out. I've been there twice so far. The prices are perfectly reasonable, and you get full. The food tastes good to very good. However, I didn't get a wow factor, but that might be due to the number of customers. The Schmiede is no longer a little insider tip, but rather a small processing line. The quality of the food, however, is nothing to be ashamed of. The charm from the documentary is now lost, as it's very busy. Perhaps there's a time window when it's quieter.

Best meatballs with homemade sauce

So, I went there for the first time on Wednesday for breakfast and again on Thursday for lunch. Unfortunately, I was there too early for breakfast because the egg variations aren't available until 8:00 a.m. But never mind, new day, new attempt 😅👍 Still, I ate a delicious schnitzel roll with a fried egg. Today (Thursday) I treated myself to smoked pork with red cabbage and mashed potatoes. It was simply brilliant, I can say. The atmosphere in the shop was great, and behind the counter, there was a lot of wit and humor. Unfortunately, I live in Laatzen, but I'll be going there more often, if only for lunch. Conclusion: Great food 👍 Great service 👍 Good parking 👍
