Buddha Bowl Lübeck in Lübeck

There were four of us with a reservation, and we waited quite a while at the door with two other groups. The restaurant was busy and therefore lively, which created a certain atmosphere. The food was decent, but nothing special.

One of the best, if not the best Asian restaurants in Luebeck. Good Pho and Bantam rice noodles. Friendly staff. If you wanna eat at rush hour times, you better bring some time. It's too good, that's why it's overcrowded. They also serve nice lemonades.

This was our first time at Buddha Bowl. Reservations are recommended. We received a very warm welcome and excellent service. The food was fresh and delicious. Good value for money. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Arrive 15 minutes before your table reservation. Some people arrived early but still had to wait over half an hour. The food was very good, and the sushi was first class. The bowls were nothing special, as were the noodles, which were unfortunately just regular instant noodles. We had requested freshly made noodles. The service was very attentive and the restaurant was clean.

We are finding it very difficult to even give one star… We have rarely experienced such terrible service! The glasses, as well as the table, were very unhygienic! There were still food remnants from the previous occupant stuck to the wine glass. The table hadn't been cleaned, so my blouse sleeves were completely dirty and covered in a sticky substance. When we informed the staff, there was neither an apology nor a proper explanation… Instead, they accused us of dirtying the table!! Which wasn't true! The napkin was stuck to the tabletop from the very beginning! We had placed it on the table surface to protect it from the dirt. We had to wait a long time for our food. The staff were barely visible and, when they were, very, very unfriendly!! We absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant!

My daughter loves going there for the Flying Noodles. I like the sauces. Unfortunately, the vegetables are often just smothered in hot sauce, so the broccoli is very hard. The salad on the plate is obviously from a supermarket pre-packaged mix. They could just leave that out. I would adjust my rating for the ambiance if the following things were changed: - The extremely slippery floor. I have to hold on to something to avoid falling in the dining area. It's even worse on the stairs to the restrooms, which are almost impossible to descend safely. - Candles left unattended in the restrooms and hallways. I really don't like that from a fire safety perspective. - Wooden toilet seats... a hygiene disaster. I don't like that either. Therefore, there is unfortunately room for improvement, even though the staff is very friendly.

The restaurant has a pleasant, if not exceptional, atmosphere and is located right in the city center. However, the portions aren't large enough to really fill you up; the place is more suited for sitting together and enjoying a light meal. That's also my biggest criticism: I find the value for money a bit lacking. To end on a positive note, though, the food was very tasty and the presentation was unconventional and unusual.

Unfortunately, our visit was rather disappointing overall. We politely asked several times if we could move to another table. Although a table later became available, we were not informed and were ignored. The service was generally unfriendly and impersonal. The atmosphere was far too loud and quite dark for my taste, which made the experience unpleasant. The presence of dogs in the restaurant was an additional nuisance, not only because it was unhygienic, but also because the entire restaurant smelled of wet dog. The food itself was okay (despite the sauce mix-up…), but unfortunately, it couldn't compensate for the other negative aspects. Incidentally, the lunch menu (when the restaurant is empty) is also not recommended, as you have to wait a very long time for your food.

An excellent restaurant right in the heart of Lübeck. The atmosphere is perfect, and the service is very friendly and attentive. The long tables encourage guests to mingle, and above all, the food and homemade lemonades are fantastic! I had the duck from the lunch menu and left feeling very satisfied. The ginger-lime lemonade was divine. I also think the option to use cutlery or chopsticks is authentic and classically Asian.

A really cool place with amazing food, very friendly service, and super fast. The drinks were incredible too – the variety they had was unbelievable! 💜 We stumbled upon it by chance and were thrilled – even the kids loved it. Highly recommend a visit. However, we arrived just before 6 pm without a reservation, and afterwards we saw queues.

Delicious homemade lemonades and tasty food!!

Mixed feelings about the visit! The starter was delicious, but unfortunately the main course was a disappointment. The dish (number 24) was drenched in sauce, the vegetables seemed to have only been in the pot for a short time to heat up, and the crispy duck meat was gristly and tough. The quality is comparable to an Asian bistro around the corner. Absolutely disappointing for the price (starter for two people, a drink each, and a main course = €85). My wife had sushi for her main course and was satisfied.

The waitress was very nice and polite, made small talk with us, and even gave us sesame balls for dessert. The food is a bit more expensive, but it's worth it. The restrooms were clean, and the decorations in the restaurant were great. 10/10. We loved it!!

Unfortunately, we couldn't eat at 11:30 (as advertised outside) because our colleagues weren't there yet. The lady's greeting was also along the lines of: Attention, this guest wants something to eat, just get out of here.

Very delicious food. The service at Buddha Bowl is very friendly, attentive, and prompt. Even at peak times, the team remains courteous and attentive. Beautifully presented and of really good quality. Today we also treated ourselves to Marcha Tea Ice Cream, which was absolutely delicious...we'd love to go back!

Unfortunately, the food wasn't anything special... the peanut sauce was more like a curry sauce. The vegetables in the kids' meal were ice cold. The appetizer came with the main course. We had the impression of mass production.

The Hanoi Pho soup was awful. It was a very rich noodle soup with chicken but without vegetables, as you'd expect from Vietnam. My wife's curry was okay, but not spicy enough for me. Otherwise, the ambiance was nice, with friendly, quick service and a pleasant atmosphere. I'd happily go back, but not the Pho soup.

The lady who brought us to our table was incredibly nice. You could tell the waiter wasn't having his best day. The food looks good, but tasted rather mediocre. The poke bowl had more dressing than rice. You only get 8 pieces of sushi for a whopping €18! The place is very nice, but we won't be coming back.

Anyone who enjoys sushi will have the opportunity to enjoy it more than just that here! It's prepared and presented with heart and soul. The lunch menu is also reasonably priced and highly recommended!

My aburi tasted burnt. My colleague was happy with her vegetarian sushi. The atmosphere was quite nice. Unfortunately, it was extremely slippery in front of the counter, all the way to the restrooms. I don't know why, but walking on it was like walking on ice in sneakers. I don't know if it was the grease from the frying that had settled on the floor. But it was really unpleasant. Officially, it's open until 11 p.m., but at 10 p.m., you're asked to pay.

One of the best place to have Vietnamese/Asian food in Lübeck. Service was very good. Staff was friendly. Staff was also speaking English. Several vegetarian and vegan options are available. Soup taste was also good. Taste of the food was good. Vietnamese coffee was also nice with some different taste. Singapore noodles is the famous dish with fancy decoration of noodles. Prices are bit high and the portion size is bigger compared to other asian restaurants in Germany.

Then another 40 minutes for drinks and another 30 minutes for the food. The argument that there were no glasses is honest. That shouldn't be the case in a professional restaurant. We would have liked to order dessert, but ran out of time and had to quickly finish the main course (despite the 2-hour allotted time). Not enough staff and supplies – or rather, too many guests. - I had to ask for payment twice. The bathroom doors were covered in graffiti, and it wasn't particularly clean. Overall, it's okay; the food is highly recommended and worth a visit! I'd rather go during the week next time.

Great asian fusion restaurant. I had on different days nigiri sushi (tuna and anago), some grilled fish and miso soup. I was also with colleagues who were all happy with their meal. The flying noodle dish was especially entertaining. All of us appreciated the amount of food served, and the generous portion of vegetables served with their bowls. Recommended.

Sure, sushi is generally a bit more expensive, but here it's perfectly within the normal range for Lübeck, and the quality justifies the price. I would especially like to highlight the child-friendliness 👨‍👩‍👦. The staff is attentive, friendly, and caters to even the little ones, so families can feel completely at home here. Nice atmosphere and good food. The only thing is that the lassi and shake mixers are very loud if you're sitting at the tables directly in front of the bar.

Very friendly staff, very accomodation. We got the food really quickly which was great as we were really hungry. Loads of salmon in the California roll. The pho was great, we had a coconut curry and flying noodles.

The food was good, the ambiance great, but unfortunately, the service ruined everything. We were sitting outside, it started to rain lightly, and we were forgotten. So we went inside with our cutlery and menu, but had to stand in line for tables with our stuff. When we finally got a table, our stuff was taken away without further ado. The waiter, wearing sweatpants from the football nation of Argentina, didn't speak any German. We were asked to leave, but after a clarifying conversation with several waiters, we were allowed to stay and finally order. The food and ambiance alone deserve 5 stars; thanks to the "service," it only got 3.

I love the Buddha Bowl!!! 😍 It's very popular, but rightly so. The food is great and the service is friendly. I especially recommend the Phon Peng Peanuts or the Mango Salad. The Poke Bowl and the sushi aren't bad either.

We've been coming here every now and then for many years... the prices are good, the food is very good, and the service is also good, especially considering that it's always busy and stressful for the staff... you can still get a seat without a reservation if you're okay with a short wait, and you won't be turned away... all in all, one of the best places in the north for solid Asian food. The owner hasn't let his success go to his head in the slightest, and I really appreciate that about this restaurant.

We had a short stay in Lübeck and were looking for a place to have a quick dinner. We took a walk around the area and checked which restaurants had good reviews – and here we came across Buddha Bowl, which had received really great ratings. The restaurant lived up to expectations. The food was tasty, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the surroundings were cozy. There was a lot of life in the restaurant – even on a Monday night it was full of guests, and when we left, there was actually a queue at the door. That says a lot! All in all, a really nice place if you want Asian food in a cozy setting. We could easily come back if we visit Lübeck again one day.

Five-star food, five-star venue. Two or three-star service, depending on who you get. But it doesn't matter; just ignore the unfriendly waiters, because the food is truly excellent. They serve bowls filled with everything and more. For less than €20, you'll leave feeling full and happy. Among the drinks, I recommend the various lemonades flavored with mint, ginger, and other excellent ingredients. Everyone is good, except the waiters, who should be taught good manners.
