Bruder Jakob in St. Wendel

Actually we just wanted to have a coffee. But the menu sounded promising. So we also had dinner there. The burgers were a taste experience!

All around great location - absolute recommendation!

The Bruder Jakob in the city center is definitely worth a visit. The warm atmosphere invites you to linger, and the menu offers a surprisingly wide variety, from hearty burgers to delicious breakfast options and vegetarian alternatives. The burgers themselves are good and prepared with great attention to detail. However, my personal favorite wasn't there. Nevertheless, I can confirm that the food is consistently tasty. What is particularly positive is the use of regional products, which I personally think is very good. However, the prices are a bit high. This may be because a lot of emphasis is placed on the ingredients here. The staff is friendly and attentive, but could still improve a bit in terms of attentiveness. The central location is ideal for exploring the city after dinner. The Bruder Jakob is a good address all around, but I personally find the price-performance ratio a bit difficult, as I have seen and experienced better things myself in Saarland.

I think the food is great, only individual waiters still need to learn a lot

Unfortunately we had a table for 8 between two other large tables. It was so tight that you can only wear size XS or you can't eat anything on site because you can hardly get to or from the table. Food and service was very 👍 great. In summer a visit is definitely more relaxed if you can sit outside, as the restaurant itself is very small.

We were here in connection with a Christmas market visit. The burgers are delicious and the atmosphere is more typical of a cafe. The prices are slightly higher compared to other community chains, but not overpriced. In any case, Qir were happy.

The burger was okay but nothing more. Staff was friendly. Very homogeneous audience, which makes you a bit suspicious, as marginalized groups don't necessarily have a safe place here.

Without question the best burgers within several hundred kilometers. From Düsseldorf to Freiburg, Brother Jakob is in a league of his own. Both vegetarian and with meat and this is consistent throughout the always varied season menus - but especially in the chanterelle season. Added to this is the super friendly team and the relaxed atmosphere in summer and winter. We no longer live in Saarland, but we still have to visit Brother Jakob on every trip home.

Worst place in town. We made a reservation and when we arrived there was no table available. They couldn’t say when the table was available.

Nice place, pleasantly decorated. Service is good, sometimes not entirely friendly or attentive. Ask for an additional charge of €0.50 for plant milk, so a deduction is made.

Very nice staff who remain friendly even when things get stressful. The food was very tasty. Burger meat cooked to perfection and fresh ingredients. I had a BBQ burger with parmesan fries and both were very tasty. For dessert there was delicious ice cream with an espresso.

Cozy restaurant, friendly atmosphere. Small menu with only burgers, but the burgers are very good! Lots of vegetarian options, looked good too. I had the double chilli burger myself, it was very greasy and a bit difficult to eat. The sandwich was tasty, but quickly drowned in the greasy sauce. Fries were great, with special sauces. Plus pubt was also the opposite of hell beer, which is served in a chilled beer glass! All in all, fun for once, especially if you are a burger lover.

Nice little restaurant. Hospitable and eager staff. Successful, tasty dishes. We sat as a group (10 people) outside. Since the floor is paved with old paving stones (old town), you were sitting a bit crooked in some places. This cannot be changed since the restaurant is in the old town. Conclusion ❗ Absolutely recommended!!!

Wir waren schon mal vor etwa einen Jahr da und da war das Essen und der Service richtig klasse. Heute haben uns zuerst mal die Preise richtig erschreckt. Meine Frau wollte dann nichts mehr essen und hat sich ein Spaghettieis bestellt. Diesesbestand aber leider zu mehr als die Hälfte aus Sahne! Ich bestellte mir einen Chrunchy Chicken Burger. Die Burger Buns Ware staubtrocken und schmeckten nach nichts. Die Soße schmeckte auch überhaupt nicht. Einzig an den Chrunchy Chicken konnte man erahnen, dass das auch besser geht. Ich habe das Gefühl, man möchte hier nur noch Geld scheffeln. Leider, schade um die schöne Location.

Maybe they should skip breakfast! Everything was done carelessly. Dry bagel, just plain avocado and rocket on top. The only condiment was a nasty-tasting light balsamic vinegar for breakfast. Then you look forward to porched eggs, unfortunately they were solid! The spelled pancakes were okay, but nothing more. The card says flowers, not a single flower on it. The freshly squeezed orange juice was watery and tasteless, as if it had been diluted. Waiting time was 40 minutes even though only 3 tables were occupied. Price with a small water, an impressive 28.70 euros. Maybe take Marie Luise in Bosen as an example. They are in the same price category, but can serve brunch. The price-performance ratio is right.

Very good burgers in St. Wendel

I had reserved a table at 6pm, but the food didn't arrive until shortly before 9 p.m. Despite repeated requests, there were delays, I was finally told that it had been lost in the kitchen and when the food arrived, it was unfortunately cold and the meat was cooked through, even though I had ordered it medium rare. The long wait and the quality of the food were disappointing. Such a long waiting time without clear communication and then cold and incorrectly prepared food are reasons for me not to recommend this restaurant.

If you like something unusual, Brother Jacob is the right place for you. The service staff are all super nice and quick. The ambience in particular, including the outdoor seating, some under large trees, is very inviting.

It's the whole package that counts! Whenever I eat here, I'm always happy because it always tastes really good. It has never not tasted good. Above all, the burgers are the main players here. You won't find better burgers anywhere in this area. But this restaurant does more than just burgers. The drinks list is long, the breakfast is unique and delicious enough to write a review of it, and the ice cream is fabulous too. When it comes to the ambience, I can say that it can be judged very subjectively. Some people like this style, others don't (you should decide for yourself). In any case, it is always neat and clean. The service is really good on some days and catastrophic on others (pupils or students who have no real experience as a waiter). In summary, Bruder Jakob is one of the best burger shops in the area and I can only recommend it to everyone.

The tastiest and highest quality burgers from the region. Great selection and also great sauces and side dishes. Not to be compared with all the run-of-the-mill stores that are opening up everywhere. By far the best burgers.

We've often eaten burgers at Brother Jakob's in St. Wendel and it's always been delicious. Today we had breakfast there for the first time, the pancakes are to die for! Super tasty, fluffy and tastes great. There is also a nice seat outside and very friendly service. What more do you want? The café and cocoa were also fine. Full recommendation!

Were there for breakfast yesterday. Had a farmer's ham bagel and the Stramme Vroni. The farmer's ham bagel used to have 2 poached eggs on it, but today there aren't any anymore and it's the same price. The Strammen Vroni had a price increase of a whopping 100% compared to 5 months ago. 5 months ago it was two slices of bread and 2 poached eggs, yesterday it was just one slice of bread and a poached egg and that was the same price as 5 months ago.

I was in St. Wendel for work and had dinner there after arriving. Attentive service, great menu and a good selection of drinks. One of the highlights - chilled beer mugs 🍺🍻 The burger was tasty, ingredients were fresh and the fries were crispy. Highly recommend trying a sauce other than ketchup. 👍 Restaurant was recommended to work colleagues.

The best is the ice cream. Sweet potato fries are good, steakhouse fries are ok. The burgers should be cheaper or better. The inside could use a fresh coat of paint.

We were at the St. Wendler town festival at Bruder Jakob on Saturday. We had reserved in advance, but were also lucky to get a great spot outside. The food was great and was brought to the table very quickly, even though all the seats were full. I would particularly like to emphasize the service, which consists entirely of a young team. Everyone was very professional, didn't seem stressed despite the full house and always had an overview and asked at appropriate intervals if there was anything else you wanted. All in all, I can only warmly recommend Brother Jakob.

Ehrlich gesagt waren wir etwas entäuscht 3 von uns wollten den "veganen Inder "bestellen, den es nicht mehr in der Speisekarte gibt , leider ! Ansonsten haben uns die Burger 🍔 befriedigend geschmeckt .Die Pommes und die Dips waren , wie immer lecker ! Das Brot der Burger hat uns nicht wirklich geschmeckt, war bröselig . Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt unserer Meinung ( 2 Pers.) nicht ! Bedienung war sehr freundlich !

I went because it had received an award as one of the top burger shops in Sankt Wendel - I can only confirm that. Juicy, tender and delicious. Service was also extremely friendly. Longer waiting times are to be expected due to this. Recommended!

Sat outside when the weather was nice. The atmosphere was therefore very nice. The service staff was a bit cold. Overall service was quick. Food was good, but the burgers tend to be blander and smaller.
