Way too expensive, absolutely unjustified. Almost €5 for a handful of fries. It used to be really good, but the quality has declined significantly. The prices are outrageous. Drinks are the same. We'd rather go to the competition across the street.

The best burger... breakfast... simply fantastic... everything fresh... a dream. But the service isn't friendly... "We were asked to leave the restaurant after only 1.5 hours because the table was reserved after that. This didn't just happen once – several times I even had to rush my dessert. It felt quite rushed and unpleasant every time."

Love at first burger! You rarely experience such creativity. There's a changing monthly burger menu, and the all-time favorites are also excellent. When the milkshake arrived, made with Berchtesgaden milk and real strawberries, it was clear: this restaurant knows what quality means. The beef is locally sourced, and the bun is made by the Haus & Hof bakery according to their own recipe. The photo shows the "Bacon Lover" with homemade cow slaw. Would gladly return anytime.

The burgers and sweet potato fries were delicious. The young staff was attentive and very friendly. The only thing I found was the noise level in the restaurant a bit too loud for me, and the relatively close proximity to the neighboring table made it difficult to have a good conversation. One star deducted for that.

We ate here and ordered two different burgers, one from the "regular" menu and one from the special menu. The special burger was a Korean chicken burger. It was a complete disaster; it had nothing to do with Korean chicken. It was a completely normal chicken nugget with red and white cabbage (no coleslaw or seasoned, just dry cabbage) and there were two apple slices in the burger. In the end, the whole thing came off the burger; only the bun and chicken nugget were eaten. So if you don't know anything about Korean chicken, please take it off the menu. €16 for a burger like that was pretty steep. The other burger from the "regular" menu was much better, hence the two stars.

We visited the restaurant specifically for the vegan options and were not disappointed with either the burger or the falafel plate. We also enjoyed homemade lemonade and a car seat for our baby. We were very satisfied with our visit.

In St. Wendel, in the old town, quite far up the road, you'll find Bruder Jakob. The dining room has a rustic, living-room feel. It was quite crowded this evening, and the noise level was quite high. My wife had already been here last week and couldn't get enough of the delicious food. So we encouraged my brother to come and eat with us. We received a friendly welcome as soon as we entered. Our table was in the far corner of the restaurant, near the restrooms. We ordered quickly, and the drinks (a melon-mint lemonade and the house iced tea) arrived within minutes. Nice and fresh, garnished with mint or a slice of watermelon and lime, and lots of ice, the drinks were delicious. We had to wait 30 minutes for the food, but that wasn't too bad considering the number of people in the restaurant. The burgers were generously topped, and the sauce was generous – very good, although a little less easy to eat the large burgers without spilling. I had a completely vegan burger and "loaded fries," a small portion of fries with delicious side dishes. I asked for the toppings to be vegan. I didn't question whether that was the reason why the guacamole advertised on the menu came in four pieces of avocado. The food was very fresh and filled us up. To finish, I had chocolate and strawberry sorbet from Henry's Eismanufaktur. A very good choice, in my opinion. Not only is the ice cream incredibly delicious, they also offer a wide variety of vegan flavors. There was nothing to complain about this evening. Our server was very friendly, answered all our questions without hesitation, and, above all, was not pushy. We'd be happy to come back!

The food tasted good and was beautifully presented. After waiting fifty minutes, we asked if we could still get our food 😑 Ten minutes later, it finally arrived. I had ordered my coffee right at the beginning, but when the food was brought, the staff didn't ask if I wanted anything else, even though the cups were empty on the table. When they cleared the plates, they were gone before we could even say we wanted to pay. That took another fifteen minutes. Conclusion: The food was good, the price a bit too high. The service 🤔, well, there's a lot of room for improvement in my opinion. It's a shame, really.

I live in St. Wendel and my sister cane with her family to visit for a few days. They ended up choosing to have breakfast here (I wasn't aware they did breakfast, then again I rarely go out to eat these days with 2 children under 2!) And they were absolutely amazed at how delicious everything was. My Brother-in-Law was quite literally OBSESSED. He even asked if they could take coffee beans home with them, because they wanted to re-live their amazing experience once they git back home, and the staff were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond and sold him some of their coffee beans! The waiting staff were also incredible and even served my family with perfect English, everyone was truly amazing !

A great café with delicious burgers, salads, homemade ice cream, and other delicious dishes. The usual non-alcoholic beverages (cola, lemonade, coffee, etc.) are complemented by wine, gin, and a few spirits. The service is very attentive, fast, and asks for precise orders (e.g., whether the burger patty should be medium or well-done), and is always friendly. A definite recommendation for both a small "sweet" snack and generous portions that fill you up.

This restaurant doesn't use peanuts, tree nuts, or sesame seeds (except for a chocolate crunch dessert or something similar), which meant we could enjoy a relaxed meal with my allergic son. The waiter was still attentive and even asked about "shared frying oil"—great! Delicious burgers, including vegetarian ones, delicious fries, and ice cream for dessert. We enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace.

Average food, good service – but the vegan labeling needs improvement In my opinion, the restaurant is overrated. The food tasted okay, but by no means outstanding. I would like to highlight the service: The waitress was very friendly and engaging. A major drawback, however, is the lack of vegan labeling on the menu – something that's hard to understand these days. This meant that the waitress had to consult with the waitress several times, which, while very helpful, could have been avoided. Unfortunately, feedback is apparently not being responded to – a shame, because a little more openness to feedback could make a big difference here.

This burger restaurant absolutely won me over! The burgers were not only delicious, but also lovingly prepared – crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, just as they should be. The side dishes were also fresh and perfectly paired. What made the visit particularly pleasant was the great service. Our waitress, Fabienne, was extremely friendly and accommodating. We immediately felt welcome – simply personable and professional at the same time.

On a warm spring afternoon, we sat outside. After a 10-minute wait, the first server noticed us and brought us the menu. We didn't see her again for half an hour, and it was starting to get cold. We got up and went to another restaurant. Unfortunately, the interior is always very crowded and quite cramped, which is why I don't go there anymore. You can't have a conversation there at a comfortable volume. The food has been better quality, but it's still pretty good. But for me, that's no longer a reason to visit the restaurant. I get equally good food at other restaurants in the area with a more pleasant atmosphere for less money. I've since dismissed the originally cozy Bruder Jakob as an overrun tourist spot. What a shame...

I had the Double Smash Cheeseburger at Bruder Jakob's. It was really tasty and big, and definitely filled me up! The atmosphere is super pleasant and inviting. The service is very friendly. I'm deducting one star because you have to order everything separately. Fries start at just under €5, and a dip costs €1.50. I understand the concept of sustainability and regional products, but I find it a bit overpriced. Nevertheless, I definitely recommend it to anyone who values ​​quality.

As was the case a few years ago, we received a warm welcome this time too. The staff was very friendly and always in a good mood. What's particularly nice is how child-friendly it is. The food was delicious, the portions were just right – overall a really great experience.

Unfortunately, an absolutely disappointing experience… I wanted my bill of €70 (including tip) on April 9, 2025, among other things. Pay with a €20 voucher that was issued and paid for on site at Bruder Jakob about a year before. Although this was issued by brother Jakob himself, it was simply rejected by the restaurant - pointing out that the third-party provider was now insolvent. The fact that a restaurant shirks its responsibility and passes the costs onto the customer is completely unacceptable to me! The contract existed at the time of purchase and it is not my problem who the restaurant works with. Instead of a solution or accommodation, I was rudely rejected. Service mentality looks different! We had accepted a journey of 40 km and were looking forward to a nice evening - unfortunately we sat in the car on the drive home, totally upset...

We always feel very comfortable with Brother Jakob. Have only sat outside so far. First-class service, good recommendations, nice personal words, binding and fast. We are thrilled with the burgers, sophisticated creations, great quality ingredients, made with love - you can taste it! Side dishes are also very tasty, plus great drinks. Looking forward to the next visit.

There were 6 of us there. One or the other a little stronger. So it was very close to the neighboring tables. But that's the only thing you can complain about. The service was super good. The food was also super tasty. I had the Lord Bacon Burger with Chilli Cheese Fries. It was super tasty. I actually wanted dessert. But it didn't work anymore because I was absolutely full. But everyone else was also very happy with their food. Gladly again. But next time in summer when it's warmer and you can eat outside.

So far, every visit has been to my complete satisfaction. The dining room is relatively small and you quickly feel "cramped", but the restaurant can't do anything about that. The skewers have always been very good, the service was quick and courteous and the price-performance ratio was also right. Even if the burgers are a little more expensive, you still get the best quality.

The ambience and service were fine. An order (drinks) was misunderstood, but that happens. My eggs benedict were the worst I've ever eaten in my life. Far too little hollandaise sauce, which unfortunately didn't taste fresh. The (too cold) salmon is something you'd find in a regular discount store, the poached eggs were no longer warm and the roll was too thick and didn't taste fresh either.

The restaurant is nicely decorated, but if more than a few tables are occupied, it is unpleasantly loud, even in the smaller adjoining room. Both burgers we ordered were excellently fried (cheeseburger and honey goat cheese burger). Unfortunately, both burgers were drowned in the house sauce, which that day probably consisted of something sweet and sour like Thousand Island dressing. The taste didn't suit us at all and we just nibbled on the burgers. The waitress offered us an espresso or ice cream sundae as compensation, which we didn't accept. We paid and fled; it was too loud for us.

The Bruder Jakob in the city center is definitely worth a visit. The warm atmosphere invites you to linger, and the menu offers a surprisingly wide variety, from hearty burgers to delicious breakfast options and vegetarian alternatives. The burgers themselves are good and prepared with great attention to detail. However, my personal favorite wasn't there. Nevertheless, I can confirm that the food is consistently tasty. What is particularly positive is the use of regional products, which I personally think is very good. However, the prices are a bit high. This may be because a lot of emphasis is placed on the ingredients here. The staff is friendly and attentive, but could still improve a bit in terms of attentiveness. The central location is ideal for exploring the city after dinner. The Bruder Jakob is a good address all around, but I personally find the price-performance ratio a bit difficult, as I have seen and experienced better things myself in Saarland.

We were here in connection with a Christmas market visit. The burgers are delicious and the atmosphere is more typical of a cafe. The prices are slightly higher compared to other community chains, but not overpriced. In any case, Qir were happy.

Unfortunately we had a table for 8 between two other large tables. It was so tight that you can only wear size XS or you can't eat anything on site because you can hardly get to or from the table. Food and service was very 👍 great. In summer a visit is definitely more relaxed if you can sit outside, as the restaurant itself is very small.

Without question the best burgers within several hundred kilometers. From Düsseldorf to Freiburg, Brother Jakob is in a league of his own. Both vegetarian and with meat and this is consistent throughout the always varied season menus - but especially in the chanterelle season. Added to this is the super friendly team and the relaxed atmosphere in summer and winter. We no longer live in Saarland, but we still have to visit Brother Jakob on every trip home.
