Broyhan Haus in Hannover

Unfortunately, my first bad review on Google. We were there with a slightly larger group, around 30 people, at the end of June/beginning of July. I was looking forward to a nice evening. The restaurant is quaint, the menu read well. We were 2 longer tables and a small table of five. The drinks were taken, served after a short time and we ordered our food. Before that happened, the leader of our group appeared and told us to behave and not to bother the staff. We were blown away. I sat at the front and could see everyone at the table of five. Of course, you also talk to the tables next to you, etc., so I didn't always have all four in view. It got a bit restless, I asked the other four to stay quiet and went out with our boss. We spoke briefly; a single person at our table (the "perpetrator") was not informed. When we got back downstairs, two of us had already left in protest, the other three of us ate a few more bites, but of course we had lost our appetite. We then paid our entire bill, i.e. drinks and the food that was not eaten or only partially eaten, and also left the restaurant. I know my four colleagues very well (including my son) and can't imagine anything like that from them. All five of us sat together at the table the whole time and none of us noticed anything, then we would have immediately stopped it and sorted it out among ourselves or apologized. It's a shame that the relevant person wasn't explicitly named/shown. So our entire table was labeled as perpetrators and the entire group was torn apart. Apparently there wasn't really any interest in clarification, although that would of course have been very important to us, I myself am a board member of the association. However, thanks to a tip from one of those who stayed until the end, I discovered another theory. I can't prove it and I won't say anything more about it, other than the assumption that it's about generating tips from the remaining troops. Unfortunately, the reviews I found on Google often point to unfriendly staff. I think I still gave a fair assessment in view of the unproven accusation against us. I condemn any kind of violence, racism and discrimination.

Went there in a large group, the food was very good, plentiful and well seasoned. Unfortunately, the unfriendly service left a lot to be desired (plates were slammed on the table, I was simply left standing at the counter without saying a word when I paid). The space was also quite limited, so several people had to get up if someone had to go out. In my opinion, the staff was completely overwhelmed by the size of our group. It's a shame, because otherwise the atmosphere was very quaint and cozy.

Went there spontaneously. There was still room for us. As we noticed, a lot of reservations are accepted there. It's great and the staff is great. We weren't here for the last time.

Not regularly, but there several times a year. The service is warm, the food has always been delicious, and the atmosphere is unique.

Abundant food and unbeatable service

We ate tender beef with vegetables with bread underneath and chicken salad. Both dishes were really delicious. The waiter was friendly. Drinks are dry red wine and wheat beer. The place was atmospheric on three floors.

The beef roulade was dry, tough and poorly wrapped. There was also a little sauce and the red cabbage apparently came from a can... unfortunately that was nothing

Absolutely amazing schnitzel with mushroom sauce and the apple strudel was divine. An authentic taste of Germany!

On the first visit I asked one of the staff whether he enjoyed his work. He answered yes. On the second visit he threw me out on the grounds that I had previously insulted him and his boss.

We ate a very nice Currywurst, although the host did not agree with our choice 😜 this man tried to ruin our good mood but he failed 😎💪🏻

Very nice restaurant in the old town. The food was very tasty. It was chanterelle season. The service was very nice and very attentive. Price performance is absolutely top.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal in a very charming street and with very helpful staff. The schnitzel was delicious, and the duck was really tasty, with a fantastic sauce. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

The pork was dry, hard to chew and the rest of the dish was good (potato, cabbage), schnitzel was relatively good but not the best that I've tried before in many places. Stuffy inside, specifically on the second floor. Besides that, the staff was friendly and helpful. Good interior and atmosphere.

Sehr lecker! I‘m trying to get my mother to try more German food. Service was kind and accommodating. She is a picky eater. Everything was delicious and authentic. We will be back! No pics because we ate it!!!!

A great old established restaurant. The service is great, always friendly and I always enjoy coming here. It's been 18 years now and it's always nice. Unfortunately, absinthe might be missing from the drinks menu at some point! See you soon.

The best meal I have had since we started our trip in Germany. Every bite of the lamb is a mouth orgasm. The waitress was attentive. Food waiting was acceptable and we got our bill fast after asking for it. The restaurant is rustic; old, wooden and lovely decorations. 2nd floor was quiet and calm when we were there.

We have visited the place for dinner on our way through the city. The food was mediocre. Tasted okay but nothing I would feel like I need to have again. I liked the tomato soup and the side salad the best. The servers were nice and the service was fast. Unfortunately there was no child seat for our toddler and another minus for me was that smoking is allowed on the terrace.

Very nice restaurant in the old town of Hanover. Everything tasted very good, the atmosphere was great. Local extends over three floors and outdoor area in the old town. Here the price, ambience, service and taste are in harmony.

I have been to the store a few times, each time accompanied by foreigners, and have repeatedly found that foreigners are treated rudely and excluded. I cannot recommend this store under any circumstances and will never visit it again!

I was there with someone for dinner. I found the furnishings and ambience to be extremely pleasant. Although there was obviously a lot to do, the waitresses were friendly and accommodating and the food was the best: generous, generous portions that were excellently prepared. Yummy! 😋 I'd love to come back.

Oh well. My criterion for eating in a restaurant is twofold: 1. Does the food taste good; you can prepare the food at home. The food is okay, but nothing extraordinary. And yes, I would easily do the same thing at home. In other words: it's like intimacy with your spouse after 10 years of marriage...it goes like this...

Good morning, We dined and celebrated well and deliciously in the beautiful, cozy and historic vaulted cellar. The service staff were very friendly and quick. You feel comfortable and welcome here.

They only accept payment by credit card over 10 euros. We drank two beers and they told us to pay in cash in a bad manner. They did not state this before I don't understand what a ridiculous payment method is in a business that used to be a Brauhaus. We ordered a dish with jellied pork but we could never eat it, it was so bad. The waiter asked, "Didn't you like it?" He said yes, I don't like it either When ordering, tourists should be guided according to their taste. We never got the food, we paid for nothing. Since it is a dish that is not preferred very much, it should be mentioned.

Unfortunately the mushroom sauce was far too salty. I only ate the potato dumplings and they were ok.

Nice atmosphere, beer and food tasted good. However, the black-haired waitress was overly rude and apparently especially with foreigners like us, even when we ordered in German and not English. It is strongly recommended that she improve her behavior and check the expiration dates on sauces and not serve ketchup that has expired for two months.

Very cozy restaurant with friendly and attentive service. There were eight of us and we got our food at the same time. This was very tasty. I can only recommend.

Quaint and beautiful. Fast and friendly service. Suckling pig and schnitzel with fried potatoes and fries were very tasty. The price-performance ratio is still right here. We were very satisfied and can recommend the Broyhan Haus. Thank you.

Delicious food in a beautiful building. Mixed grill counter both. Fantastic! A little too salty for us, but the salad was crispy and refreshing. Baked potato with sauerrahm a party. Red wine is fine, Radler too. Super attentive staff, cozy atmosphere. Nothing more to wish for, because what more could you want? Recommended for everyone.

Was here for dinner yesterday. The restaurant is quaint and we received a very warm welcome. I ate very good steak and leg of lamb. Plus a wonderful Tempranillo. The service was also very good. I'd love to come by again when I'm in Hanover.

A top ambience that the location offers in all three areas. Rustic and yet modern. The food was very good and the price was right. The service was friendly, courteous and quick. Had to postpone the actual reservation for an hour, which wasn't a problem. Definitely worth a visit.

Spontaneously got a table on a Saturday evening. Rustic furnishings. We decided on 2 vegetarian dishes. The potato gratin was good. The mushrooms with dumplings were a bit light and the mushrooms could have had a bit more of a kick. But overall the food was good. Dogs are allowed in this restaurant.

The food is good but the service is getting worse. Partially unfriendly experience. Way too expensive. For normal meals you pay at least 20 euros. smaller ones are available for under 20 euros.

Erster Besuch in diesem Restaurant, bis auf die Dame im Service welche für den oberen Bereich zuständig gewesen ist sind wir sehr zufrieden. Das Essen ist frisch zubereitet und sehr zu empfehlen. Der Service ist sehr gut. Wir freuen uns auf den nächsten Besuch.

Guter Service, Essen war auch sehr lecker, etwas mehr Sosse zur Ente wären 5 Sterne gewesen, habe allerdings auch nicht nach extra Sosse gefragt. Von der Inneneinrichtung her schön, aber die Tische stehen teilweise etwas eng.

Sehr gutes Essen, tolle Bedienung

Tolles "altes" Lokal, mit sehr netter Bedienung, sauber und vor allem sehr sehr leckerem Essen. Wir hatten Schnitzel mit Champignonrahm und Spanferkelrollbraten mit Sauerkraut und Bratkartoffeln. Uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert.

Dieses Restaurant befindet sich in einem Fachwerkhaus. Die typisch deutsche Küche hat mir allermeistens gemundet. Das Lokal genießt einen guten Ruf. Das Bier ist immer frisch gezapft und gut gekühlt. Empfehlenswert für Liebhaber der deutschen Speisen.

Solide deutsche Küche in gemütlicher Atmosphäre. Reservierung ist empfehlenswert, wir waren mit unserer Essensgruppe plus Kleinkind dort und wurden bestens umsorgt. Das dort gebraute Bier mundet.
