My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Breidenbacher Hof, and it was an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, the service was nothing short of exceptional—attentive, precise, and always going the extra mile to ensure our comfort. We were consistently impressed with the quality of the rooms, and as loyal Amex FHR guests, we’ve always been upgraded, which is a nice touch. One of the highlights for us was the complimentary drinks in the minibar, that are restocked daily—a rare and thoughtful gesture that sets this hotel apart from many other luxury establishments. Breakfast at The Duchy restaurant was outstanding, offering a wide variety of delicious options to start the day. We also had dinner there, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The food, service, and atmosphere made for a truly memorable dining experience. For anyone planning to visit Düsseldorf or the West Germany area, I highly recommend Breidenbacher Hof. It's a top-tier hotel that offers both luxury and outstanding service. We’ll definitely be back!

I was there from March 1st, 2025 to March 3rd, 2025, very friendly staff, received a great upgrade. Very good breakfast. I'd love to come back when I'm in Düsseldorf :)

Yesterday I was at the hotel and wanted to use a toilet there in front of me. Refused. To use the toilet. Because? I was not a guest of the hotel.

What a pleasure it was to stay at this hotel. I was a bit skeptical at first , as I lived in Düsseldorf for a long time and used to know the original old Breidenbacher Hof very well. But I was impressed and happy , the minute we walked in . This hotel is run with precision , care and professional hospitality attitude ! While the city center of Düsseldorf , especially the Alt Stadt, is clearly suffering from neglect and cheap shops and sad food options , this hotel stands out! It is indeed a 5 Star hotel that earns every single one of them !

A good friend (who had a birthday) and I went to the bar & cigar lounge. The young gentleman there gave us an extremely friendly welcome and recommended cocktails/cigars. We are very impressed with his service, courteousness and professionalism! As a surprise, he made my good friend a chocolate cake with red currants and blueberries and the words "Happy Birthday" next to it. What a thoughtful gesture, thank you very much! We are thrilled and can only recommend the Bar & Lounge. By the way, I have already stayed at the hotel once with my sister and we can also recommend the hotel! Phenomenal room, hygienic and comfort A1, perfect!

As always, the reception, the suite, the atmosphere in the hotel were excellent. The New Year's Eve arrangement at The Duchy was terrific.

Unfortunately we were late due to the Christmas/New Year's Eve traffic. Actually too late to have a relaxed breakfast. We love the atmosphere and quiet nature of the Duchy or the lobby lounge. But Ms. Rademacher, who was always in a good mood, grounded us and blew away the rush. This made it a wonderful hour to enjoy the beautiful decorations and New Year's Eve can come. Without a doubt one of the most interesting hotels in Düsseldorf, practically on the Kö. You will receive a friendly welcome. The bar is an experience, but you can only get in there if you have reserved in advance. The restaurant is also very good, especially the Wienerschnitzel

I don’t typically leave reviews like this, but I feel compelled to share my experience due to the shocking treatment we received. My four-year-old daughter urgently needed to use the restroom, and the staff at this hotel outright refused to let her in. I understand policies are in place, but what harm would it have caused to let a small child use the restroom at a so-called five-star establishment? The doorman physically blocked us from entering, which was not only unnecessary but incredibly DISGUSTING. My brother, who has worked in the hotel industry for over 15 years at prestigious properties in the US, Netherlands, and UK, was appalled when I shared this incident with him. A five-star hotel should reflect compassion and hospitality, not such a lack of humanity. This experience left me deeply disappointed and disheartened. We will also make sure to advise our family and friends against choosing your hotel when they visit the Christmas markets. Hospitality is about more than just luxury—it’s about kindness and consideration, especially during the holiday season.

This hotel focuses on attention to the guest and excellence service. Sustainability in the use of regional food in the excellent cuisine, best location all around for me the best city hotel in Germany.

The hotel is luxurious and quiet. Free coffee and tea are available in the lobby under a comfortable seating area. It is close to the center and the Rhine River. I love it.

An absolute top hotel! Was there for the first, but definitely not the last time. Simply fantastic.

Super friendly staff, great rooms, super breakfast for every taste. Large gym, swimming pool and sauna. Of course it's not cheap, but it's worth it. I recommend! The only negative is that we couldn’t book connecting rooms, and dinner at the hotel restaurant is quite expensive with not a very large selection of dishes.

We were invited to the restaurant and have eaten there several times. So far it has always been great but this time we were very disappointed. The asparagus was almost raw, the potatoes as well and the Wiener Schnitzel seemed to come from a fryer. It's a shame considering the prices. The service was very nice

Impudent security boss who exhibits aggressive behavior. I am a regular and he and a certain employee regularly refuse to let me in because they have some problem. Unfortunately very unprofessional...

Aggressive security staff, worse than in the old town bars. If you want to be treated disrespectfully, this is the place for you. It's outrageous how a hotel with such a name can employ such staff. This means the staff at the entrance, the bar staff are very nice.

We had a wonderful Easter lunch at The Duchy. Excellent food - with ingredients often from local farms, but an extra 🌟 - and really loving service. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back.

Detailed feedback on our stay at the Breidenbacher Hof – an experience with light and shadow Our recent business stay at the Breidenbacher Hof was characterized by outstanding service before our arrival and a remarkable consideration of individual needs, especially my vegan diet. These positive aspects deserve recognition and contributed significantly to our decision to give the hotel four stars. However, we would like to share some experiences that prevent us from giving full marks. Positive experience: The upfront service and management were exceptional. As a vegan, I have rarely experienced such comprehensive and exemplary consideration of my nutritional needs. A special thank you goes to the staff, whose warmth and professionalism enriched our stay. Areas for Improvement: Breakfast Experience: Despite the excellent vegan options, my husband, who doesn't eat vegan, didn't find the selection satisfactory. One specific incident that stands out in our minds involved the order and subsequent cancellation of vegan pancakes. After realizing I was full and the pancakes hadn't been served yet, I decided to cancel. Another waiter responded sympathetically and assured that it was no problem. However, shortly afterwards I changed my decision and asked to get the pancakes to go. The original waiter, who was informed of this change, reacted visibly tensely and later surprised us with an unexpectedly high bill (around €120) for breakfast. His comment that "at least this still has to be paid for" felt inappropriate as at no point was there any intention to leave without paying. The situation continued when another inappropriate comment was made regarding the breakfast menu, which culminated in an unpleasant interaction with staff and even caught the eye of colleagues. Dog-Friendly: Our experience with the hotel's dog-friendly policy was disappointing. The restrictions that affected us and our dog were contrary to our expectations and previous experiences at other hotels. The need to remove our dog from the room during room service was inconvenient and caused confusion and inconvenience. Despite these challenges, we do not want to diminish the positive aspects of our stay. We hope that our detailed feedback will help Breidenbacher Hof improve the experiences of future guests. Despite the points mentioned, the willingness to take individual needs into account and offer an exceptional level of hospitality convinced us. We look forward to the opportunity to visit Breidenbacher Hof again and see how the hotel responds to our feedback.

Lounge is great for meeting and relaxing. Posh. Valet parking is good. Atmosphere appealing.

Food very good, staff friendly, rooms very well maintained

I was really impressed by this hotel. The service was really excellent and, above all, warm. The employees enjoyed their work and tried to make the stay as pleasant as possible. So we immediately felt comfortable. Our room was beautifully decorated, had a very pleasant climate and was incredibly quiet. We simply weren't missing anything. The sauna was perfect for relaxing and the in-house restaurant offers very tasty food. The breakfast and the booked massage rounded off the whole stay. Simply great, thank you for the great work. We recommend.

I found the application process to be incredibly transparent and appreciative! Especially as a potential career changer in the industry, this is definitely not a given these days! Every time I visit Dusseldorf I stay in this lovely hotel which has great location with exceptional service from everyone with special thanks and appreciation to Mr. Ndue at the breakfast restaurant alongside the head of the staff which all of them take their job very seriously with great smile & hospitality It is the best place to stay in Dusseldorf for family & friends and nothing to complain at all.

It was just perfect! We were there for the first time on the recommendation of the hairdresser on the Kö. Caroline Hover. We were looking for a hotel in Düsseldorf for our wedding. It was just perfect😘 The services simply have everything. Very clean , Very attentive, And even the farewell is simply fantastic. I've been to many hotels but this was just perfect. We stayed in a Grand Deluxe Room (914) for one night. A great room with lots of space, a great bed and a great bathroom. Everything clean and well maintained. Friendly and attentive staff. Great breakfast buffet with a super nice Vincent. Congratulations on this great employee! Spa area small but nice. Pool, sauna, steam room and loungers. Short recovery guaranteed. Location of the hotel very good. An icon of the hotel industry. You should have seen it!

Wir waren in der schönen Bar, Preise für ein Cocktail noch im Rahmen. Ambiente sehr schön vielleicht ein wenig dunkel gehalten. Service war nett und die Cocktails hatten gut Umdrehungen. Allerdings waren dort zwei Gäste die aussahen als wären es Schutzgeldempfänger, Clanmilieu oder so

Die Lage ist top, die Preise der Leistung angemessen, aber es ist der Service der dieses Hotel einfach zu den besten der Welt macht. Nicht zu vergessen: Ein Restaurant welches jedem Wunsch und Gaumen gerecht wird und eine Bar, deren legendärer Ruf weit über die Grenzen Düsseldorfs bekannt ist.

Qualität des Management und Service leider mangelhaft geworden. Man wird nicht gastfreundlich empfangen und bekommt verschiedene Informationen bezüglich Reservation. Kein lösungsorientiertes Management. Eine äußerst schwache Leistung. Der Breidenbacher Hof verliert jeglichen Glanz und das Ansehen durch diese Faux Pas seitens des Personals und der Organisation. Sie stehen nicht mit Ihrem Namen und der Umgang ist inakzeptabel. Sehr schade. Nicht zu empfehlen!

Reservierung war 15 min nicht erreichbar. Mitarbeiterin beendet das Gespräch durch auflegen ( während meiner Beschwerde ). Mein Fazit : 0 von 10 Punkten.

Ein herausragendes Hotel in sehr zentraler Lage. Das Personal ist hervorragend und der Service großartig. Alle Mitarbeiter sind so unglaublich freundlich, hilfsbereit und höflich. Alles war perfekt in diesem traditionsreichen Grand Hotel. Wir kommen jederzeit sehr gerne wieder. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Hotel del mayor nivel, céntrico y con un personal muy atento y profesional. Hemos viajado en familia y nos han atendido perfectamente. Incluso había personal en recepción y en restaurante que hablaban español, lo que siempre nos facilita la estancia. Acabamos de irnos y ya queremos volver

Es war ein schöner Aufenthalt und wir kommen wieder. Seltsam ist nur, dass im Frühstück hier und da echt der Service nur sehr mittelmäßig ist!

The high tea was my first time. So I didn't know how bad it was until I went to another high tea. The rest of the hotel, I don't know. Just the high tea. It only let you choose one tea and you got a few sugary treats for €100. Probably one of the worst values I've ever had. But the staff was nice.
