Bräustüberl in Zwiesel

It was a very cozy inn nice and attentive staff. We ate a pork knuckle, unfortunately the crust wasn't crispy, the sauce and salad were very tasty, but the cabbage was much too sweet and unfortunately there were no fresh dumplings either

We were so excited about the food and have already made reservations for over a week because we are not from there and live a 4 hour drive away and wanted a short vacation. We were even more disappointed! When we arrived there was nothing going on, all the seats were free and there were only a few people. I said our names and that we had a reservation. The waitress took us briefly into the restaurant, didn't look at a list or book and walked with us back to the entrance. There were three very older men sitting at the table (probably the regulars' table) and then they said we had to sit there because these were our reserved seats and everything else was reserved. That can't be the case if you made a reservation so long in advance and nothing was said about it on the phone. I suspect our table was given to another group of four or six and then they probably thought we could join the gentlemen. NO, we had our 20th anniversary and then such a cheek. I have never been treated like this before, unfriendly, arrogant and absolutely not professional. We then went to the “Altbayrische Schmankerlstube” and were not disappointed and were warmly welcomed, as a guest would wish. Was the best decision, the food was fantastic. Something like this shouldn't happen in the catering industry and is an absolute no-go. If we had come spontaneously, okay then you can think about whether you stay or join us, but to be treated like that with a reservation, you're just speechless. That's even one star too many!!! If you don't value us, then other restaurants will be happy about our visit.

I can only recommend the restaurant. Cozy, quaint, delicious food, at a good price. If we lived nearby we would come more often.

Braustüberl an absolute recommendation. Price/performance ratio unbeatable. Particularly worth mentioning is the extremely courteous service. We had an unbeatable waiter who spoiled us and our two children with everything. We've never experienced anything like this! But immediately our local pub in the Bavarian Forest!

We came across this restaurant by chance at the start of our vacation in the Bavarian Forest. A bit skeptical at the beginning because of the low prices. But once we were there, any skepticism was dispelled. The food is very tasty and we can only recommend a glass of steam beer with it. But the speci is also very good. After our first visit, we decided to eat there every day of our vacation because the staff and locals always give us a very friendly welcome. We only give it the best rating because we couldn't find anything to criticize.

Very cozy inn opposite the Dampfbier brewery with typical Lower Bavarian cuisine. Excellent roast pork, very good knuckle and all sorts of good beers from the brewery opposite. The (Czech) staff is friendly, on the ball and accommodating! We stopped here several times in the evening during our hiking holiday and were never disappointed. It makes sense to reserve in advance!

Quaint restaurant, as you would expect in Bavaria. Large portions and unique atmosphere! If you don't have a reservation, you may be out of luck and have to find something else. But if there is a spot available, you can make nice contacts and enjoy great food!

We had dinner here with 13 people. The drinks and food were brought to the table very quickly. The salad dressing wasn't particularly good. The other dishes were also rather mediocre. Maybe we were just too spoiled by the restaurant that we had visited several times before. But the big deal came when we wanted to pay. The waitress thought someone would pay for everything at once. She became very rude when we said that we wanted to pay separately and slammed the bill on the table. One of our group should pay for everyone because that would be easier for them than having to account for everything separately. Or we should calculate everything separately ourselves. Then she just quickly left our table and didn't come back. We go out to eat very often, but we've never experienced anything so outrageous. We then complained to her colleague, who brought the unfriendly waitress back to our table. In the end she had no choice but to charge us separately and in some cases she collected a bit “too much”. Conclusion: Continue to vacation in the Arber region twice a year. But this restaurant once and never again.

The food was ready quickly and tasted great. The portions are huge. I ordered a soup in advance because I thought the roast wouldn't be much for the price. Then I got a huge bowl of soup and roast pork. 2 thick slices and a giant dumpling. Craziness. I can only recommend the mushroom soup and the roast pork to everyone. The only thing I would note. Please replace all the knives. They're annoying because none of them cut properly.

Clear recommendation. We visited the Bräustüberl when it was raining, which is why the taproom was packed. Nevertheless, the friendly waitress pointed out to us that we had a good chance of getting a table within the next two minutes and that was the case. Although the Stüberl was really busy, the service remained consistently friendly and attentive. The dishes were very tasty and the portions were really big, so you should bring an appetite. The pricing is very fair. If you're looking for a brewery with home-style cooking, you've come to the right place.

Special requests are taken into account when ordering but unfortunately are not served that way. Very inflexible when it comes to changes. I didn't like the food either. A pity. Ambiance leaves a lot to be desired. Worn tables, dirty or no seat cushions... there is nothing for vegetarians!!!!

Oh yes, the Bräustüberl. The inn is rather simple and very down-to-earth. This is actually meant to be very positive. Here you can stop and just be. Whether in transit, on a bike tour or on a hike. The location is not particularly representative. The service is great! Attentive and friendly - nobler houses can take a leaf out of this! The three stars for the food also don't mean that it is bad or doesn't taste good. It's just very down-to-earth and filling. The beer with it tastes great! The menu is pleasantly manageable and doesn't promise anything it can't deliver - and at surprisingly reasonable prices. Stay as you are!

Knuckle, roast pork and Max & Moritz... It was a perfect match. I have rarely experienced such attentive, fast and at the same time reserved service as here. Big compliments to the kitchen. All dishes were “on point”, even though the restaurant was busy. Plates empty, cleared away. Glass empty, refilled. Invoice requested, paid. I'll be back! Gladly. Very gladly.

Had dinner there for the first time today. The young man at the beginning was very nice (hence 2 stars, otherwise it would have been one), and brought water for our dogs straight away. The waitress who took the order didn't even have to say "good evening". All it said was “Drinks?” The food came very quickly, but was absolutely not tasty. The Jägerschnitzel was a tough piece of meat with a watery sauce, as if it was just water. You had to look for mushrooms, there were maybe 5 of them. The spaetzle didn't taste like anything. There were very few cheese spaetzles, so the children were still hungry. The meat on the grill plate was also partly tough and not seasoned. All in all disappointing, there are better places in the area.

Very good food, typically Bavarian, I think 😉, top service and prices... you wouldn't believe it!!! Paid around 12.50 in the evening for a large plate of meat with dumplings. Meat tender, dumplings as it should be, lots of sauce! It was very tasty, I felt comfortable and well served! I can recommend it!

We were nearby and looked for a beer garden for dinner. The restaurant has a good selection of dishes from typical German cuisine. In the restaurant itself, the ambience is decoratively reminiscent of typical, older German taverns. There are also covered outdoor spaces in the beer garden if you don't trust the weather. The staff was very nice and attentive, we felt very comfortable. The food left nothing to be desired; we received very generous portions for a very reasonable price. We only waited a total of about 10 minutes for the food. If we are in the area again, we will definitely eat there again.

In the deserted Zwiesel we found what we were looking for in the Bräustüberl. As someone has already described, we were also pleasantly surprised. Very nice service and good food. Unfortunately, neither the beer garden nor the dining room looks inviting. The sanitary facilities urgently need renovation. But in short, happy again.
