Bräustüberl in Zwiesel

We always go there once during our holidays. This time I had half a pork knuckle. It was poorly seasoned, cold inside, and the sauce and dumplings were very bland. My wife had the Braustüberl mixed grill; the meat wasn't hot anymore, even though the food was on the table after only 5 minutes. We were disappointed!

We were very satisfied with everything. Very large portions. The meat was of very good quality and cooked perfectly. It's already on our list for our next vacation 🤗

We specifically chose the Bräustüberl in Arnbruck for our outing because of its good reviews. We figured you can't go wrong at a Bräustüberl. I had the Zwiebelrostbraten (onion roast beef), which was overcooked (burnt) and served with potato rösti that looked like it was from at least the day before, without any sauce. My wife had a tough Ziegeunschnitzel (gypsy schnitzel) with greasy pork neck, finished with bottled sauce, fries, and two side salads – speechless. The ambiance is very dated. The servers were friendly and quick. We will not be visiting this Bräustüberl again.

A fantastic experience for everyone!! 4/5. The service was excellent, but the young lady wasn't very good (very unfriendly)! Prices are very stable. PS: The Irschi Classic (fries with gravy) is highly recommended at the incredible price of €2.50.

Hello, during our Christmas holiday in Zwiesel, we were really looking forward to visiting the Bräustüberl, as everything had always been excellent on our previous visits. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed this time. We ordered cordon bleu three times; the meat tasted like it had been frozen, and you practically had to hunt for the fries on your plate. We also ordered a beef steak once, which was so overcooked it was almost inedible. When we spoke to the waitress about it, she said there had been a change in the kitchen staff, but that doesn't excuse what we received. In short, we won't be eating here again. What a shame.

Friendly staff, and the food was delicious. We had a wonderful time on Boxing Day. The ladies and the kitchen staff were so kind and even brought us Kaiserschmarren (shredded pancake) even though it wasn't on the Christmas menu. Warmest regards, thank you ❤️

We had a reservation for dinner on the evening of December 26th. When we arrived, the server told us they were sold out! This was very annoying, as we had driven 40 km specifically to enjoy a lovely, festive second Advent meal at the Bräustüberl. We were simply told that if everything wasn't documented during the phone call, they couldn't know why we had made the reservation. We received no compensation whatsoever.

Very good beer, but the roast pork was just okay. The roast pork was disappointing. No crackling, just a soggy rind. Of the two slices, one consisted only of fat and that soggy rind. The dumpling was fine, and the gravy was delicious and plentiful.

We went out for dinner today and it was very busy. The staff really tried their best, but unfortunately, the Bavarian reservation process got a bit mixed up, though I managed to sort everything out.

I wanted to politely inquire about the restaurant, but the person on the phone repeatedly said it was too noisy and they couldn't hear me, and then apparently just hung up. Instead of briefly going somewhere quieter to have a normal conversation, I was immediately met with hostility as my first impression. Hospitality is definitely not a priority here.

We ate at the Bräustüberl this evening because it has such good reviews. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the taste of both dishes. The food was bland, the sauces didn't match the menu descriptions, and the overall quality left much to be desired. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

Very cheap, but nothing special. The exterior is a bit run-down. Right on the main road. The food was honestly only lukewarm, not hot. I think it was just reheated pork knuckle. The taste was good. Service was good. The beer was good. No wine on offer.

We were there on a Sunday at lunchtime. We hadn't made a reservation and still got a nice table. The food was very good, and the portions were generous. Very child-friendly. However, the high chairs desperately need a thorough cleaning! Or rather, they need replacing, as they're quite old. Unfortunately, they only accept cash, hence the one-star deduction.

We visited the Bräustüberl today. We had hunter's schnitzel with mushrooms and half a pork knuckle, along with a side salad. The hunter's schnitzel was very dry, and the sauce was salty with few mushrooms. The knuckle was the worst I've ever eaten in Bavaria—dry and tough meat, the skin was wobbly and rubbery, and the sauce had little flavor. The side salad is beyond words. The best part was the beer. The service was friendly.

The food tasted really good, with large portions. My soup (mushroom soup) was cold. The waitress was so busy that I didn't dare say anything. We sat in the old part of the restaurant, right by the door. It opened every minute, and there was a draft, and each time a blast of cold air mixed with the smell of cigarettes came in. It was extremely unpleasant.

We ate at this restaurant three times during our stay in Zwiesel with our motorhome. The food was all very good. The knuckle of pork is definitely worth trying; it was the best I've ever had. The steamed beer is very drinkable. The service is very friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back on our next trip.

When we wanted something to eat in the afternoon, it was the only restaurant open, and it was almost full. The service was excellent and the food was okay.

We wanted to eat something in the beer garden on September 29th, and it was open! But after no one came out, I went in and asked if we could be served outside. The answer was, "No, it's too busy in here today and it's too cold outside." We then went a few meters further to the Altbayrische Schmankerlstube, where we were welcomed and served very friendly. And the food there was also delicious.

A rustic pub with very friendly staff, good beer, and excellent food, both in terms of quality and quantity. Just a 5-minute walk from the RV park. The food comes very quickly, and the service is friendly and frequent. They have the best knuckles of pork here! The meat skewer and the roast pork are excellent. The menu is completely adequate. Beautiful Bavarian restaurant, nice and fast service, you can communicate in Czech, large and tasty portions at a reasonable price, excellent local beer, I highly recommend it and we will definitely come back sometime.

We wanted to eat there because we were really hungry! Right at the entrance, there was a sign saying "cash only!" Lacking cash and not wanting to find a bank after searching for a parking space, we went to Burger King. Not accepting card payments these days is no longer up-to-date.

Always a good place for a meal. It's just that the beer garden is located so close to a main road.

We stopped in spontaneously while passing through. The beer and the dark shandy were excellent. The still water was definitely tap water, which had a metallic taste. The food: We had two roast pork dishes. It was good, but we didn't need it a second time. One cheese spaetzle dish. These were very good. The restrooms were clean. What looked very good were the schnitzel and steak. We can't judge the taste. Prices are good. For 4 drinks and 3 meals, €48. We probably won't come back a second time. Seating in the beer garden would have been comfortable, though.

When we arrived after a long journey, we wanted some delicious local food. We thought a brewery pub is always good. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. The ambiance is okay, but a bit run-down and has a bit of a backyard feel. The beer was tasty and came quickly. The food also came quickly, but the cheese spaetzle tasted like a Knorr packet, and the fried onions on top were also from a packet. The roast pork was okay, but the steamed beer sauce also tasted like a packet and stayed with me all day. The prices weren't that high, though. But all in all, I wouldn't recommend it.

We were there with two people. The service was prompt, as were the drinks and the food. Those who prefer vegetarian options only have the option of an XXL salad with fish. The food was really not good. The cheese spaetzle tasted very strongly of cafeteria food, and the generously scattered dried onions made the dish inedible. The side salad for €3.50 was very watery; you can go wrong with salad, too!? The roast pork sauce was much too thin... but it tasted good. No one ate anything, which the waitress didn't notice and didn't ask. Perhaps this place is more suitable for just a drink; the brewery was right across the street, and the beer was very tasty. When it started to rain, the tables outside were cleared, the ashtrays were turned over, and another employee came over to help. With a cigarette!!!! in her hand, everyone can see what they want, but it wasn't acceptable for me. The price was okay, but we won't be coming back.

A very nice little inn where not only tourists but also locals are present. Unfortunately, we didn't have a table reservation, but the friendly staff organized one for us ;). The food was also very good 👍! Since I suffer from celiac disease, I was initially hesitant, but the friendly staff conjured up a plain turkey schnitzel topped with tomatoes and cheese, along with a small salad. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo 😵‍💫! It was delicious and I had no problems!!!! So, I would even give it 100 points 🤗! My husband had a gypsy schnitzel with steak fries, and the kids had spaetzle with gravy. My husband also said the first steamed beer is a must-try (it's very drinkable 😂). They were also more than impressed. If you're in the area, you should definitely go to the Bräustüberl and maybe reserve a table in advance 😉! Good food at fair prices is what you'll find there! And to top it all off, the very friendly staff make everything possible 🤗!!

Stopped here on a motorcycle tour, and it was excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient, and the food was excellent. I'd gladly return anytime.

The blonde waitress was very unfriendly, but the dark-haired waitress laughed a bit, but if you want something quick, that's fine. It's fast, and it's just mass processing.

We always enjoy visiting the Brästüberl in Zwiesel. The beer and service are fantastic, and the atmosphere is truly Bavarian. The food is good, but it lacks that final touch. We're looking forward to next year.

We were saved. When you arrive in Lindberg late in the evening, it's hard to find a restaurant still open. At the Bräustüberl, we had delicious roast pork and venison goulash with a freshly tapped Dampfbräu beer. The owner was really nice, and the atmosphere was great. I have no idea why we've never been here before, even though we've been coming to Lindberg for many years.

We were here as a couple. Service was really good, friendly, and fast. The food also came very quickly. We had half a knuckle of pork and roast pork once. However, we didn't like the food. Anyone who knows anything about cooking knows that it wasn't prepared with much effort. The food was very bland, and everything tasted the same. The next table served schnitzels, which looked much better.

The good service doesn't make up for it... mushy knuckle of pork with ready-made dumplings and a Kaiserschmarrn from a packet (confirmed by the service upon request) only the beer 🍺 was great, a dark steam beer.

Reasonable food, only downside is that you can't pay by card. Very crowded and noisy.

I was really disappointed this time. The wait staff was overwhelmed. The wheat beer cola. Too much beer in it. The roast pork sauce came from a packet. Potato dumplings too. Bread dumplings would have been better anyway. Potato salad was like concrete and tasteless. They've seriously let things down there. Professional gastronomy is different. Any housewife can cook like this, and she does it better. The food should also change from time to time.

Solid Bavarian/Bohemian cuisine. Very friendly staff who stay cool even when the beer garden is bustling. The steamed beer is very tasty. There's little natural shade in the beer garden, and few trees. However, the prices are reasonable. The food is very tasty.

Unfortunately, the food, like the grilled meats and mushrooms, was inedible. The cordon bleu, on the other hand, was very tasty. There were only two waiters, which was far too few. Don't go there with high expectations. It's really just okay.

I ate there today and I have to honestly say it was bottomless. I ordered half a crispy pork knuckle with dumplings. It only arrived after an hour's wait, even though it wasn't that busy and we had to point it out again. Furthermore, the entire waitress spoke broken German. He misunderstood our drink three times and simply added something that no one had ever ordered. I've been there several times and it was always fine, but today's pork knuckle was anything but crispy—more like a rubber ball, and you pay €12.50 for it. Everyone said it didn't look tasty at all, and it wasn't even cooked through inside. I hope this was a one-off. Best regards, Walter Ben

The Bräustüberl was very busy today, Whit Monday. Unfortunately, this resulted in somewhat worse service than usual during my visit (longer wait times on several occasions). However, I don't think it would be appropriate to give this a negative rating – one should rather be happy to be able to visit a restaurant/inn on such days (yes, even though such days are of course important for the restaurant industry). The food was reasonably priced and delicious (pork cordon bleu with fries). The dark steam beer was also very tasty. The inn is quaintly decorated and therefore exudes old-world charm.

The food is very good, but of course not a Michelin-starred restaurant. However, it's reasonably priced! The currywurst is excellent, and the fries are good too. The curry sauce is too watery, though. The service was, as always, very friendly. A traditional restaurant.

It's a typically rustic Bavarian brewery restaurant. The guests here are all ordinary people. The service is very good and friendly. The prices are really reasonable, and the food is of good quality. The portions are large and the food tastes simply amazing. We'll be back when we're in the area.

Terrible We left a restaurant for the first time because the waitress, who barely spoke German, was so unfriendly and rude when ordering that we canceled the order and left.

We had the venison with spaetzle, which was very tender. The Kaiserschmarn (sweet pancakes) were very good, and the "small portion" was perfectly adequate. The mushroom soup was also delicious. We were there with our dog and sat in the smaller adjoining room.

A quaint old inn with a lovely beer garden. The service was polite, and the food wasn't exactly a big hit. Roast pork for €12.50. The menu lists it with a dark sauce, but what you get is a light brown, watery sauce. The meat is 40% fat, and the dumpling is rubbery and a bit old. It shouldn't have cost more than €12.50. There are probably better options in the region.

Highly recommended. We ate there every day of our vacation.
