Brauhaus Stephanus in Coesfeld

Simply great. The shovel roast is awesome. I'll be back.

I got food here twice for three people (pre-ordered by phone and then picked up). The first time everything was great. The second time half was missing. The baked potato is usually with spinach and feta, so everything was missing except the naked baked potato. But since I noticed it in the brewery, the missing items were added. The fried eggs were missing from the fried potatoes with fried eggs, the spare ribs were complete. But the spare ribs had a sauce that reminded me very much of Hela's spiced ketchup. The only difference was that there were some vegetables in the sauce. At home I noticed that when I ordered there was tzatziki, but it wasn't part of the meal I ordered. I have to say, the Brauhaus is not cheap, and for the higher price I expect a little more.

Mega good, very tasty and great atmosphere!

Been there a few times. Everything is always delicious, especially the Stephanus Bräu. But now I'm already looking forward to April 11, 2025. This will be my first night there.

An absolute recommendation! The ambience is rustic - some ceiling lighting made from empty beer bottles. And I don't mean normal ones, but their own; 2-5l bottles. The food is great. Meat lovers (steak, schnitzel) will get their money's worth, but it's also delicious vegetarian/vegan. The service is fast and friendly: absolutely recommended!

We went to the brewery for lunch on a Wednesday. Ambience and service is good. The house beer is very good. The shovel roast we ordered is also highly recommended. Unfortunately, schnitzel and fried potatoes came out of the deep fryer.

In short: Super nice ambience, excellent food and beer and excellent service staff. The brewery impresses with its rustic brewery atmosphere, a beautiful bar area and the large brewing kettles. The beer selection and, above all, the quality of the beers are outstanding and, in my opinion, unparalleled in the entire Münsterland. The menu offers a large selection of excellent dishes. During our stay we had, among other things, rump steak, schnitzel, duck and veal knuckle. We were extremely happy with our selection of each of the dishes mentioned and can recommend all of them. The veal knuckle in particular was something very special and was very convincing. In summary: If you don't find anything here and leave hungry, it's your own fault. Finally, we also have to praise the staff. We always had the feeling that we were valued as guests and that we could feel the Münsterland hospitality at all times. We will definitely be back very soon, even if we have to accept 50km each way.

Great food, very nice service - would be back again

This recession is a little longer 🙈, but here's the story for the first time: We went on a bike ride to the brewery today and were really happy. Unfortunately, the joy went straight to a low and left mouths open. It was not very busy and we sat outside for 30 minutes until the waitress said we should order inside, which wasn't a problem for us. When ordering inside we could only order drinks and eat inside from said waitress. When we asked them about it inside, a statement came out that shocked us all: "You can't order it, it's too cold outside and it's loud, there's a draft everywhere, even though we were inside this time." That's what we got from one of them 2 waiters tried to send someone. The waitress in question came to us and said: “No, it’s too cold for me, so order quietly now 🙈. You stand right in front of the bench and not in the middle. One of us came from inside and just wanted to sit down and order too, to which he replied: No, not now. The colleague then had to place his order with his back to the woman. I don't think every waiter here is like that and maybe something happened to other customers beforehand, but I'm a waiter myself and something like that doesn't work! Since I'm a waiter myself, I tried to address it and point it out politely. There was no apology from her, but towards the end she softened. Either because she was in a better mood or because she got wind of my review. We would have liked to try more there and stay there. I've never experienced anything like that, which is why, unfortunately, this bad recession.

We were hungry while passing through around 3 p.m. and at this time of day it's not that easy to get something decent to eat outside of a big city... but in Coesfeld it's possible! The Brauhaus Stephanus offers warm food throughout. We ordered the “Sudpfanne” (pork medallions) and the pepper schnitzel. The food came quickly and was very tasty. This also applies to beer. Very very tasty! For example, I had the original... The restaurant is also easy to reach on foot from the train station (approx. 10 minutes). Nice rustic atmosphere. Fast service. Very nice everything.

The beers were delicious and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing, frozen schnitzel and frozen tarte flambée are not possible. In addition, small portions and the price is not appropriate, Side salad only available for an additional charge.

Here on chill with the bres a Roman behind the armor. Chilled atmosphere, the best food and you can't have enough beer. No joke the best shandy (if you drink it) I've ever drunk. Aura increases exponentially. The finest home cooking, so that even Erich should find something, frfr. Rulle, I kiss your heart for this nice enrichment in Coe. I only wish you the best sales. A quick reminder that you have to order the oxblood there when you're there! Is legit hayat.

Unfortunately I didn't make the best choice when it came to eating

I ordered a normal Coke and received a Coke in a 0.5 glass. I assumed it was the cola size in the store. When I wanted to pay I was shocked, the cola cost €5.80 (a 0.5 beer costs €5.40). After looking at the menu, I couldn't find a 0.5 cola. When I asked I was told yes the size is calculated as 2 cola. Then the service was very unfriendly and unmotivated. She just wanted to take away half of my plate, which wasn't completely eaten, without asking if I was finished. I have to say I'm really disappointed, the store is getting worse every year.

I was there for the third time and you topped my impression: - The food was great, the portion size was right, the meat was on point, the vegetables were crunchy, the sauce was very tasty! - Service was quick and attentive, everything was well organized and running! -The ambience is very pleasant, there's nothing you can do about annoying video callers at the next table! We pointed it out ourselves! Overall, a very nice (early) evening with really reasonable price-performance ratio! We will come back! This is not a threat, but a promise! Top location, highly recommended

Large beer garden without much flair. Due to the location it's easy to get more out of it. Jagerschmaus (Jägerschnitzel with potatoes) was quite good. Very tasty beers.

I can only recommend the brewery. We were there recently and sat outside in the beer garden. It was very shady and pleasant there. The food was very tasty. We had the wedding soup, the ox cheeks (very tender), a salad plate and for dessert the men's cream and the warm apple strudel with vanilla ice cream. Everything was very tasty and great for the price. The waitresses were very friendly and accommodating, but asked far too often for our taste whether everything was OK.

The first brewery where you (almost) die of thirst. If a grown man in a brewery has to try to catch the waiter's eye in order to get another drink, then something is wrong. The food was OK, the beer too. A pity.

Une soirée tranquille , personne dans les rues , tout est fermé sauf une brasserie. La place ne manque pas, pas de musique . Impensable de manger ou boire un verre en terrasse, trop de fumeurs. Seuls à l’intérieur, tellement seuls qu’on nous oublie😂. Décors brasserie, nombreux bocks à bières, un vélo au plafond, les cuivres qui brillent, j’aime bien. Bonnes bières, côté nourriture, ce n’est pas mauvais mais ce n’est pas le meilleur. Croquettes de pomme de terre surgelées, sauce hollandaise en poudre , les souvenirs d’enfance reviennent. Je pourrais éventuellement y retourner, mais d’ici là je vais améliorer mon allemand car , et ils ne sont pas les seuls, les cartes en d’autres langues sont rares. Allemand seulement

Rich selection of food and drinks. The house specialties in dishes and beers are particularly recommended. Very friendly service. The general shortage of staff here also leads to longer waiting times, especially in "bicycle tour weather".

The brewery is in the city center. The parking space for mobile homes is no longer available. The beer is very tasty, every season has an additional variant. The staff is super nice and helpful, the atmosphere is good and is very well attended by people even during the week. The expectations for the food were correspondingly high and unfortunately they were very disappointed. We like to go to small breweries with guest towns and are used to much better. Why a brewery town places so much value on good beer but is so disappointed when it comes to food is a mystery to me. Formed meat and frozen potatoes shared the deep fryer. Ready-made sauce that already had a skin after serving, but fresh mushroom pieces 👍. The taste of the food was OK, but the price-performance ratio and the quality of the food were not at all right, which is a shame.

Wir wurden eingeladen, weil man uns was besonderes bieten wollte und die Gastgeber mal an einem Donnerstag zum Haxenessen dort waren und begeistert waren....Das waren wir aber alle nicht an einem Sonntag Abend. Kleine, überteuerte Portionen. Meine Pommes waren wie Leder....waren schonmal vorher in der Friteuse. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht und haben nicht reklamiert, weil die Gastgeber sich neutral verhielten. Der Weg zu ihnen hat sich nicht gelohnt, für mich war das Abzocke.....

Since the Germany/Denmark game was broadcast yesterday, it was quite busy... but the staff were consistently friendly despite the stress... The atmosphere was great all around....the food was delicious.....the drinks were tasty 😊😊

We had a really nice weekend with a Kiepenkerl welcome, beer seminar, Westfalen Schnitzel with fried potatoes and goulash soup, dancing, overnight stay, breakfast and a covered wagon ride.

Excellent cuisine and drinks. Nice atmosphere. The beer sauce for the roast was to die for. The beers are all delicious and worth trying.

Beer is quite good, the Urtyp is recommended. I think the food used to be better across the board, but the dishes that go with it are still good. Ambiance and service match again!

I visit the hotel sometimes for work. Accordingly, I also use the restaurant, I am fascinated by the service, food and beer they produce. The only minus for me is that there are no tablecloths on the wooden tables outside. I recommend.

Had dinner with the family on the Sunday after the election. As always, very good. We now also have a selection for our vegans. They were also very satisfied, but would have liked a slightly larger portion.

After a long bike ride we received a great welcome there. Rooms neat and clean. Food in the restaurant very good. Absolutely reasonable in price. Delicious types of beer. We felt very comfortable. Again and again......

Auf Fahrradtour sind wir hier eingekehrt - tolles Hotel mit angeschlossenem Brauhaus, modernem Badezimmer, und das beste Frühstück auf unserer Viertages-Tour! Auch mit ausgefalleneren Leckereien, es war alles dabei, was das Herz begehrt. Sehr freundliches Personal im Einsatz.

A hotel/restaurant with a beautiful beer garden and its own brewery. So beer lovers have come to the right place. We went here for dinner and had schnitzel. These were okay in themselves, but they were purchased ready-made schnitzels (convenience). But then asking for the very high price of €17.80 is a lot. Of course the menu has more to offer, but we have to advise against the schnitzels. Regardless, the service was quick and friendly.

We stopped here on our bike tour + found a nice place on the outside terrace - the service was quick and attentive - the food came relatively quickly and was tasty - price/performance was okay!

There is simply nothing negative to write about Hotel Top, Service Top; the food is simply great, especially the knuckle or roast shovel, the staff is super friendly and accommodating. We will be back

I spent one night in the hotel and also ate and drank something on both days. All the staff were very good and friendly, the food and, last but not least, the beer were great! The room was super clean and well furnished, the breakfast left nothing to be desired! My unreserved recommendation applies to both the gastronomy and the hotel!

Short and sweet: I found the food to be a bit greasy, but the location was visually okay. But what's not right at all is the service. He spilled about two 0.5 soft drinks on me (which weren't even intended for me). It just said, “Oh, I’ll get him something new to drink and some tissues.” When my companion pointed out that I had already fallen today and had to change my clothes beforehand, the service simply replied: "But I can't help it." Something like that can always happen. But instead of taking care of me as a guest in any way, there were only a few comforting words and a cloth. First and last visit.

We happened to be there. But very nice brewery. Super nice service, very friendly. Food also very tasty. Especially for me because I can hardly eat anything because of allergies. I asked extra and the food was great. Keep it up. We'd love to come back.

I've never been more uncomfortable sitting in such a highly praised restaurant, you literally don't know where to put your feet under the table. The food is OK. The drinks were too expensive, but I still took a 6-pack of fasting beer with me. Repeat danger (4-) four minus.

Hotel room is clean, modern and has a nice large bathroom. Breakfast buffet plentiful and fresh! Fried eggs, scrambled eggs with/without bacon. Egg boiled for 5 and or 7 minutes. Really great! Everything is available for every taste. Service...super nice and always ready for nice conversation.

What a nice Brauhaus. Cosy atmosphere, great food, great service. They also brew their own beer which you can buy there.
