We had a large Swedish group for dinner in connection to IAA Transportation. The food and atmosphere at Brauhaus EA is perfect for relaxed corporate events. A great mix of traditional and modern. The service was excellent and food came quickly.

Das Brauhaus Ernst August ist zentral in der Altstadt von Hannover gelegen und hat, wie sich das gehört für ein solches Restaurant, eine große Zahl von Sitzplätzen. Meine Kollegin und ich besuchten dass Restaurant an einem Dienstag und hatten nicht vorgebucht. Der sehr freundliche Kellner bat uns, an der Theke Platz zu nehmen, da das Restaurant knackevoll war. Schnell erhielten wir die Karte und entschieden uns für das „normale“ Schnitzel und das mit Champignon-Rahm. Von der Sauce abgesehen, unterschieden sich die beiden Gerichte gar nicht. Das Essen und auch die Getränke kamen recht schnell. Dabei war die Bedienung immer freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das hausgebraute Bier war prima, die Schnitzel eher durchschnittlich, was aber bei der Zahl der Gäste kein Wunder ist.

Sehr gemütlich, und gutes essen. Ich war da mit 16 Geste durch die Messe IAA Transportation. Ich kann diese Restaurant enpfehlen!

Very good service, Kyrill was super nice and quick. It was a great place all around.

New visit in August 2024. After 6 years it is still a meeting and celebration place, although now with more terrace and more modern space. It took them a long time to serve us even though the place was not full. The knuckle and suckling pig are the best to eat in Germany. They now offer a broader menu with salads and more international dishes. Popular brewery in Hannover Ernst August is a very popular large brewery in Hannover, where you come to drink beer that they make themselves. To feed the body not only with beer, they have a variety of dishes and appetizers: from the typical Bratwurst, to more substantial dishes such as knuckle with mashed potato and Sauerkraut. Large venue with capacity for more than 500 people, which the night I went was packed. Light and smooth beer, but one of the best I tried in Germany, If you come hungry, I recommend the knuckle, which will not disappoint you. To be avoided by those looking for a quiet place without noise. Not cheap compared to other breweries or restaurants in Hannover

When we finally got some service.. it was also really nice.. the food was quite ok, but definitely nothing special. The decor made the place seem a bit like a brewery. They only had 3 kinds of beer and it was a bit expensive..

Generally good experience with a large and very well prepared Haxe. The crackling on the Haxe was however perfect, cannot recall having this better done anywhere else. Thought the sauerkraut was somewhat sweet, could be a regional variation, but prefer the normall version.

Wanted to order fries with our drink. We were rejected. Kelnner takes a long time when we want to pay and is then insulted that we don't tip for such service

Despite the house being full, the service was able to give us a table with four people and was super friendly. It felt like the drink we ordered was served after a minute and so was the food. Beer tastes great and so does food and good portions for the money. Typical brewery atmosphere and stylishly furnished. Simply recommended.

The schnitzel was ready-made with ready-made breading. The chanterelle sauce was tasteless. You could eat salad and chips. My burger with pulled beef wasn't a hit either. The sweet potato fries that came with it were very greasy. Given the prices, I would have expected a different quality. It will probably be best to numb your taste buds with the house-brewed beer beforehand. Then you won't notice what you write down.

First of all, the food was super tasty. The fries, the schnitzel and the cordon bleu were definitely homemade. The staff were consistently friendly and attentive. The ambience was also very nice. We would love to come back

After an event we wanted to go out for a nice meal in a neighboring restaurant. We were a group of almost 40 people! Things went haywire in the restaurant. 4 service staff there quit without further ado. Only the boss stood there and told us that somehow it would work. That was it then. A colleague had the idea of ​​calling the brewery and asking if we could come here spontaneously. The brewery said: “No problem, we can handle it!” We quickly went over there and I have to say it was the best evening we ever had as a group. We ordered drinks, got them straight away, the food also came “Justin and Time”, it was hot and very tasty. We were thrilled that they were able to serve 40 people so professionally at once, without a prior reservation. And the waiter was great! Many, many thanks again to the whole crew for making this possible for us after the disaster in the neighboring restaurant! Not everyone can do that...

The evening was really great, we sat outside very well in pleasant temperatures, but I deducted one star because you can't order a keg of beer outside. Is there a fear that you could run away with the barrel? Then collect a €50 deposit when you set it up. That really annoyed me. The service and food were fantastic. I would expect the toilets to be cleaner. 2 out of 3 sinks were blocked and the water was standing in them. And the cabins probably weren't cleaned at all, there was toilet paper on the floor for hours. And even though a fee is expected, you are still a paying customer anyway.

Good beer and delicious food always very busy so difficult to get a seat

We came across it by chance. We ate the Brauhaus schnitzel and the rolled roast suckling pig. The food was mega. We tried the beers and were pleasantly surprised by the happy hour Mon-Fri from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. We paid €65 for both main courses, 3 0.4l beers and 1 beer cocktail. Price-performance is absolutely right. We will definitely come back.

You can sit comfortably here even during the week, enjoy the various beers and eat well. Was very happy with everything.

A day trip spontaneously took me to the brewery in the evening - I was greeted very nicely and attentively by a young man and ordered drinks and the chocolate cake with a liquid center in combination with a mango sorbet🥧🤤 the dessert was super delicious and beautifully draped - be careful : Addictive factor 😉 Kudos to the male service employees 👍 I'll be happy to come back!

For me it is always one of the first points of contact when I am in Hanover. Top food, delicious beer, great ambience and great staff. Ideal for all age groups. I'm 63 years old myself. Nice outdoor spaces. Full recommendation from me!!

So I think the ambience is really nice, especially as a beer drinker to see the kettles. It was a shame that during our visit there was only one of the beers we ordered in a 2L size. With the statement it was a shooting festival. On the one hand it's understandable, on the other hand it's not so good for a brewery. The food was super tasty and also super fresh. Unfortunately, I think the prices for the portions are much too high (that was the opinion of all 9 of us visitors). €19.90 for roast suckling pig was actually a good price, but unfortunately the portion was really small and we are all normal eaters. But about 30 minutes after eating we bought another bratwurst and something similar in town. Despite all this, the brewery is always worth a visit, especially for beer drinkers.

Unfortunately we were disappointed. We ordered 4 coffees, 2 apple strudel and 1 ice cream. After waiting 20 minutes, after asking several times, the hot drink we had been waiting for finally arrived. Unfortunately, the strudel and ice cream were not brought after three quarters of an hour, even though we asked several times. Orders from other guests with beer and warm food are clearly preferred here

Seemingly a contradiction: 1 star and 4 and 5 stars in the subcategories. Easily solved. Today in the sunny city center of Hanover and in the outdoor management, a SINGLE person, a female specialist, was busy giving advice, taking the order, delivering food and drinks, clearing away and collecting cash. Despite the tremendous hard work, this results in longer waiting times, but those who have eyes and can think for themselves accept this. But not everyone has it. This woman literally worked her ass off (and I suspect - which would be a disgrace beyond compare -) for just the legal minimum wage or just above it. To be honest: after a certain time I would have given up, called the owner, who is certainly not suffering from new poverty, and given an ultimatum. Nowadays, such a specialist will certainly find more grateful employers EVERYWHERE and probably also better pay. HONEST: you can't and shouldn't treat people like that. This is the 19th century and the fact that something like this still exists: one person for the entire external management: unbelievable. I'm shocked.

Went there for dinner with the family yesterday. It was really cheeky what was on offer there. For two of us, the food was almost cold when it arrived. I ordered my burger without onions because of an intolerance, but of course it came with onions. When I complained about this, they took the burger away and brought it back to me a few minutes later with chopped onions, and it was then cold. If three out of five people don't agree with the result, I unfortunately can't write a better review.

Hello, hello from the far north. Was here for the first time. Ambience nice, but not exceptional. You sit on hard wooden benches, which makes it really uncomfortable to stay for long periods of time. Lots of benches and stools without backrests, not comfortable either. But the food... MEGA delicious... Had the burger with sweet potato fries. Service also great. Parking next door in the parking garage, practical but very expensive.

A nice experience, one of the probably more expensive places, we ordered schnitzel for a price, we wanted mushroom sauce the price was + €2.6 which was strange. There were many tables and many seats.

The waitress didn't seem to want to take our food order and so we moved on after a beer. In general, you can't seem to escape customers here, which is why the individual is worth nothing.

With a rumbling stomach and high expectations, I made my way to Brauhaus Ernst August, hoping to find a meal that truly captured the essence of German cuisine. Upon entering, the welcoming atmosphere immediately put me at ease. I took a seat and was soon greeted by a friendly waiter. When I asked for a recommendation, she didn’t hesitate. “You must try the pork shank,” she said with a warm smile. Despite it not being typical summer fare, I decided to trust her judgment. As I waited, I sipped on an iced, amazing beer, the perfect antidote to the summer heat. The anticipation built with each refreshing sip, and soon enough, my meal arrived. The sight and aroma of the pork shank were irresistible. Despite the season, I devoured it eagerly, savoring every tender, flavorful bite. It was a feast fit for a king, paired perfectly with the crisp, cold beer. The food was awesome, hitting all the right notes of traditional German flavor, and the waiter's kindness made the experience even more special. Brauhaus Ernst August had provided exactly what I needed: a hearty welcome to Hannover and a delicious introduction to its culinary delights.

We really liked the food, atmosphere and the drinks. When we left the table to dance, the waiter ran after us and demanded to pay the bill in advance. Our private items, such as bags, cell phones and jackets, were all in place. First and foremost, it's also about the manner. If these are your terms and conditions, then you should display them visibly or communicate them. Afterwards we no longer felt welcome and left.

The announced live band didn't play, there was no communication about it.

First restaurant in Hannover and we are off to a good start. Food: Delicious fish and chips, i did not need the remoulade sauce because the fish tasted really well. The pork dish was very tasty too and in huge portion. Service: Very friendly staff, attentive and the first ever restaurant to ask us how the food was. The child’s drink automatically came with a straw. Atmosphere: I like the forest vibe inside the restaurant. They have plenty of tables both inside and outside.

I think the price of 28.50 for a knuckle with sauerkraut and two mini dumplings is a bit too high. We had two waiters. One was very nice, the other was a bit stressed and not entirely friendly...But everyone has their bad day...

We had dinner here during the Germany Spain match. The atmosphere was very excited in front of the screens but despite the defeat of the Teutonic people the customers behaved with balance. A waiter, thinking we were Spanish, came to compliment us. We ate well

Rustic brewery, also large, long tables for large groups, ideal for drinking. Service took a little longer. We were almost 50 guests. Food was heartily cooked and tasty, large portion. Price-performance ratio was right👍🏻… clear recommendation to go again!

Update 2024: A waiter told us that the brewery has been taken over by the descendants. We were there at happy hour, which is when you want to drink excessively. That doesn't work anymore. The service person served us unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome. On top of that, he complained about the tip: "It would be measly." What ⚠️⁉️ The good, great times there are probably over. And we were there a lot. Beer still tastes good, but the flavor is gone. Well, what can you say, change isn't always good!!!

Reservation is recommended! I can't rate the food because I've only gone to the brewery to drink. What I can only suggest to everyone. Because there are delicious cocktails and of course wonderful beer waiting there. The team is also very nice and accommodating.

We just wanted to try a couple of beers. The waiter was very impolite, even telling us "Schnell!" (make it quick!). Never coming back.

Everything was great for the first 2 hours. The service was attentive and the orders came quickly. Then the service changed. At first everything was as usual. After the meal, our orders were only taken after repeated requests. The food was expensive and of mediocre quality, portions were manageable. To pay with a card, we were allowed to stand in line (15 people in front of me) at the checkout. In this day and age, having only one card reader for this large restaurant is incomprehensible. I won't come back and can't recommend it.

If you want some beer garden and brewery flair, you can go here. Overall, a very good and nice location. You can also dance well, partying isn't stressful and the prices are acceptable.

This place has a nice atmosphere, and for an American- what you might be looking for in a brewery in Northern Germany. One side has faux trees and hopvines, and the copper brewery kettles are on that side. The waiters hustle, and come by pretty frequently. The food was healthy and tasty. Three house beers are brewed here, and in typical German fashion -are very, very drinkable.

Visually a beautiful brewery. Unfortunately, the food is completely overpriced in terms of price/performance ratio. We had 2x Cordon Bleu, both of which just passed by the cooked ham, cheese and spices. The breading was soggy. Fries were ok, hollandaise convenience. For €25.50 I expect better craftsmanship from the chef. There may have been a new trainee at work here. The Pils is unfortunately very flat in taste, the seasonal beer was festival beer. A little maltier, if it hadn't had the carbonation of tap water it would have been drinkable. Conclusion: Tourist cuisine, expensive and filling, nothing more. It was definitely our last visit there.

You should definitely have the address on your radar when you visit the city. The beer and the food are recommended, although not really cheap. The restaurant offers an open view of the brewery group - unfortunately when the house is full it is very loud (unfavorable acoustics) and unbearably hot (insufficient ventilation).

Went there with a colleague some time ago and I remember it was very good! Great quality food, excellent and friendly service and the shop was very cool (we stayed longer and had several beers). I would recommend sitting outside if the weather allows.

The food at the Ernst August brewery was OK, but the service left a lot to be desired. The communication with the staff was unclear and instead of showing understanding, we were blamed because we supposedly didn't understand German. Under these circumstances it was particularly unpleasant that an attempt was made to force a tip.

Ich war am 19.6. dort und habe mit Freunden WM Fußball geschaut. Der zuerst reservierte Tisch war nicht geeignet um mit 6 Personen zu sehen. Auf Nachfrage haben wir dann einen geeigneten Tisch bekommen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und hat uns schnell frische Biere gebracht.

The location was very inviting from outside and the menu had something for everyone. The food itself was ok, but the conditions were very unfriendly and unpleasant. The cheeky manner and tone of the waiter was really not friendly to the guests.

Pork knuckles - Yum! Almost like smoked ham, but with the skin on and fried to a crispy crunch! I mentioned to my German friend that I wanted to try the traditional pork knuckle in Hannover during my visit, and this is where she took me. Didn't disappoint! Our party of 4 ordered various dishes... I did the pork knuckle, 2 types of schnitzels, and steak ... and all were A-okay! Portions were on the larger side, and the prices seemed to be above average, but all everything tasted good! They also make craft beer, and the one I tried was A-okay! Not the most heart friendly meal, but what the heck, I don't visit Germany every month! Once is 30 years must be okay! ;) Lots of seating inside, and covered tables outside. We ate our lunch during the weekday and we could just walk up without any reservations. So a nice (very filling) experience for me!

We're sitting here in the rain and can't be served outside under the umbrella because the waitress might get too wet. Beer otherwise tastes good. Unfortunately it can only be used in good weather.

I had ordered a table for 4 people online in advance at 8:00 p.m. We were there shortly before 8 p.m. and we were shown a table for 6 people in a quiet niche. We were glad not to sit in the middle as some groups were already loudly enjoying themselves. Our friendly and nice waitress (Nicole) introduced herself and quickly brought us the drinks we ordered, and the delicious food we ordered also arrived very quickly. Everyone was very happy and would be happy to come back. 5 Stars

The food is always good, but unfortunately I was there on Wednesday and heard how a waiter was making fun of a small group of foreign guests, of course with other German guests at the bar. It's a shame, we loved it otherwise. But laughing at people? just because they aren't from Germany? Are we in 1933? They bought their own beer, not took it from you. They were also there quite normally. Not chaotic or disrespectful. Therefore, I would never eat at Racists again.

Yesterday we had a wonderful evening in the brewery at “Hennes Quiznight”! What fun!!! The quiz master Henne (=member of the Jetlags) moderated the quiz very well, the questions were very varied (level of difficulty 'easy' to 'hard' :-), the process was very well structured - simply great. The service (food + drink) also worked perfectly. We will be back :-)

Hello, my dears, Today I was at the ErnstAugust brewery for the first time. I'm very excited. The ambience, the food (schnitzel with wild mushroom sauce and fries, apple strudel with vanilla ice cream) They were simply great and tasted sensationally good. The beer lemonade, The freshly tapped Pilsener and a Baileys rounded off the culinary delights perfectly. The live music added an additional atmosphere. In short, a very round and delicious evening. Come back. Rate the evening with 5/5 stars.
