Bratwurststand in Erfurt

Unfriendly, and the sausage is the worst I've ever eaten. Absolutely tasteless and not recommended in the slightest.

Food - no pleasure & service catastrophe The bratwurst's intestines were tough/firm, the neck steak was rarely so stringy and both were lukewarm. Food is pre-grilled and kept warm on the side only. Thuringian tasted no different than any other bratwurst. -Please and thank you are probably a foreign word -You are urged to move aside -Bread pressed into your hand to hold it for the sausage/steak It would probably have been better to check the review beforehand or if you could at least do everything yourself 🤣

I ordered a Tühringer Bratwurst, the tone is a bit unfriendly and aggressive. The sausage was a bit charred, which also became a problem for me in the evening because I had severe diarrhea. I just want to say that I've eaten better things that day.

The worst sausage that I and my better half have come across so far. After our shopping trip we were really hungry and hungry for a sausage. My wife's sausage ended up in the trash after the first third and mine a moment later. The sausages were of a strange consistency, soggy, greasy, watery and tasteless, just disgusting. The stand probably only exists because it is heavily frequented by tourists and is in an optimal location.

It was my first time in Erfurt and I bought an original Thuringian bratwurst there. There was a couple in front of me who had the same thought, so I observed how it worked. They were just given the roll and I asked myself, where is the sausage? The tone here is a bit rougher and rougher. It's a shame, because someone who wants to sell something should be in conversation with customers. The couple was supposed to open the roll and the sausage was placed inside. I've never experienced it like that before. When it was my turn, the same procedure. There was ketchup and mustard next door, I was also excited about the mustard, it was also very tasty. Ketchup was standard. The sausage was very hot but also tasty. Still, it lacks spice. The roll was very crunchy and I only ate half and discarded the rest. Conclusion: the seller should be friendlier and more open. The price was okay and the taste was okay. According to the reviews, there are better ones out there and I'll keep trying.

After a long time, I visited Erfurt again today, January 3rd, 2025. I am also a native of Erfurt, Thuringian bratwurst is one of them, but what I experienced with my girlfriend at this stand is not possible, rude know-it-all, I can't list everything, only one is the man who Fried sausages was very nice but the other person wasn't my recommendation either to stop doing the job or to learn how to deal with people?? This stand is not recommended. Human catastrophe

Bratwurst okay, seller is very unfriendly!

This bratwurst is a shame for Erfurt and Thuringia. The sausage is pre-cooked, fatty and barely seasoned. There is also a baked roll that is reminiscent of crispbread and is slammed harshly onto the counter. Born ketchup was missing, instead cheap spiced ketchup. The sausage costs €3.50, but even €2 would be too much for it. Absolutely not recommended!

Mega unfriendly and then the bratwurst tastes underground for Thuringia, you're just lucky because you're standing on the street.

The location in front of the shops on Schlösserstrasse is good, but the sellers in the bratwurst stand are an absolute disgrace. Today I had to pay for a sausage with a 20 euro note - the seller tried to cheat me out of 10 euros. Only after a heated discussion did he give me my change. So be careful people... We've lost our appetite (in terms of quality it's not worth buying anything there).

What's so difficult about frying a bratwurst so that it's at least almost cooked through... Cheapest product. But people like to cash in.

Some of the reviews are puzzling to me, but of course, everyone is different and not only has different tastes, but also feels differently. So, €3.50 for grilled sausage, where can you get it cheaper?! I had the Rostbratwurst, which is also made in Erfurt, and even though my stomach is sensitive I can only say that it didn't bother me and that it tasted good. What many people don't know is that they grill with charcoal! For comparison, yesterday I was at the wine market and I found the Rostbratwurst there dry and overly seasoned, and it really sat in my stomach for a long time. I also found the service at the beautiful place to be nice and had a great conversation, so I can't really confirm some of the reviews. Ok, the ambience could be better.

The food is just pathetic, it's hard to believe that they still sell something like that. What is so difficult about frying bratwurst/brätl? Not recommended at all, luckily there is a trash can next to it.

The stand could be cult but the Thuringian is pathetic...without taste, watery. The mustard is the best. The bun was already tough at 11 a.m. today. So bad quality. Guaranteed no ORIGINALS... plus the price: €3.50 Not again. Not recommended. The seller is just trying to make money from the cultural asset...it only works with tourists

Bratwurst was once better and they have to learn how to cut rolls again. Top location, but I wouldn't get anything there again. Too bad!

Hello broad beans, As a Thuringian, I ordered a Thuringian and a brattel. I wanted another one and was offered a RAW one. Thuringians in "". It was black as coal, small and the sausage meat was cold. The bald operator copied his behavior from the Nafri gold piece. Unfriendly, rude, unreasonable. The sausage is not Thuringian, neither is the staff. The shed needs to be removed.

The sausage is good, but nothing special. The service is terrible. The man in the booth should urgently take a course in hospitality and politeness. Incredible and definitely eat somewhere else.

Was expecting more. Rolls sticky, sausage casing a bit tough. Still a must in Erfurt.

The gentleman was very, very unfriendly. 😡 Never go there again!!!

To put it bluntly, the location is the best. I would place the sausage in the lower third in terms of taste. The operator, however, is an absolute disaster. I almost apologized for wanting to buy two bratwursts from him. The guy can't be beaten when it comes to unfriendliness. There were also a few derogatory comments because, as a tourist, I didn't order the sausage in the wording he preferred.

The bratwurst was weak, the bun was stale and the service was a bit cute.

The stand was recommended to us as a highlight - this is where the people of Erfurt eat their sausage. An absolute failure. We were served more badly than well and then the sausage was really really disgusting! Maybe this stand was once one of Erfurt's sausage stands, but it's definitely not one anymore.

A cheap supermarket sausage is sold here that has nothing to do with a Thuringian sausage.

Friendly service, delicious bratwurst

I come from Erfurt and always eat a bratwurst when I visit. Same thing last week. The roll was good, the sausage was okay. Price/performance match. I can't understand the reviews here.

Please steer clear. Very lousy service and the Brätl (steaks) tasted like nothing. Why am I only reading these reviews afterwards? That would have saved me from giving these subjects money for their service. You can cope with the fact that the seller doesn't speak German well. Putting the no-longer-crispy rolls on the counter and leaving it to you to get the bratwursts and taste-neutral Rostbrätl from the most unlikely guy I've ever met in a roasting joint is not something you have to have for lunch. Complaining about it would have spoiled lunch even more. What a shame and what a shame for Erfurt.

Unfriendly guy with stupid sayings!

Great location, our Rostbrätel was great but that was about it. Two gentlemen behind the counter. The gentleman at the grill was friendly and, as the saying goes, “didn’t mince his words”. But this guy next to him, why would you unleash something like that on paying guests? In a fit of displeasure, he throws the grilled food into people's buns, my sweater got splattered with grease today, that doesn't bother these guys at all. How you get through the day dragging your feet with such arrogance is a mystery to me. This diner will never see a dime from me again. The 2 stars are for our good Rostbrätel and the beautiful surroundings.

In times when the customer is king, such pearls are rarely found. Elsewhere you will be greeted with a friendly “Hello” or “Good day”. Not here. Here, as a customer, you feel that you should basically beg for the service of food preparation while slipping on your knees. The whole thing is reminiscent of a bad canteen: a salesman in a bad mood puts a roll on the counter, and then you have to collect your sausage from another (also in a no better mood) "cook" next door. Something like that grounds you again when you start the day in a too good mood... A good remedy against the generally rampant arrogance and the almost late Roman decadence of our society. Perhaps a unique selling point in Erfurt city center. An experience especially for tourists and proof of "German hospitality"... Oh yes: the sausage was ok, but nothing special. But for 3.50 I would rather go to the meat counter at the nearest Rewe.

I got a little hungry on the way and thought I would try a bratwurst. The seller's tone is below all ***. The bratwurst itself was rather mediocre, which is also my rating. The bun was relatively fresh and also crispy. Ultimately, I didn't think the price was justified in relation to the performance/service and I won't eat there again. Unfortunately, I had expected more due to the location and external impact.

Yes, there are definitely better bratwursts than these, but there are certainly also significantly worse ones. The shish kebab skewer was grilled well, but we lacked the seasoning. It was authentic and had a few sayings, but we were able to laugh about them. We were visiting Erfurt and were unsuccessful in our search for a bratwurst stand for a long time. The stand has a beautiful location by the river. Would I come here again to eat sausage, probably not.

What a failure. I had a bratwurst there 2 weeks ago. Very tasty, very fresh crispy bread roll. Quickly grabbed one to go during lunch break today due to lack of time. Mustard/ketchup to go is no longer available. Opened in the office. The sausage was really disgusting, hard, greasy skin, the bun was totally rubbery. I'm really sick. Unfortunately I have to agree with the many bad reviews. You won't see me again.

Kann mich den vielen negativen Bewertungen nur anschließen. War früher öfters dort, jetzt weiß ich wieder warum nicht mehr. Bratwurst absolut unterdurchschnittlich, da 8st sogar die von der Gammelbude am Domplatz besser, und das hat echt was zu heißen. Und der Verkäufer...nun ja, man selbst ist total höflich , grüßt und bedankt sich, keinerlei Reaktion. War mein letzter Besuch dort.

Hatte mir mal eine Bulette gekauft sie hat nicht geschmeckt und später hatte ich ganz schön Flatulenzen. Aktuell wird es nicht besser geworden sein. Allerdings war der Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich. Finde es auch nicht in Ordnung dass Bilder gemacht werden und dann online gestellt werden von diesem Mitarbeiter. Vielleicht hat er Probleme aber derjenige der Fotos heimlich von jemandem macht hat noch größere Probleme im Kopf. Außerdem was erwartet ihr es ist Erfurt 😅

Absolut unfreundlicher Verkäufer, der die Würste auf dem Grill nicht anschauen lassen wollte - weil es keine Thüringer Rostbratwürste sind.

The location is very nice. I think the reason why this place has many negative reviews is the language issues the salespeople have at the site. Limited German and English, one has to be more tolerant. That said, I did enjoy the Bratwurst and I do speak German (Wienerisch:+)).

Die Wurst ist leider weniger als durchschnittlich und das Brötchen sehr labbrig. Das wäre für die paar Euro und einen schnellen Snack grundsätzlich ok. Wenn ich könnte würde ich hier jedoch -5 Sterne geben, da ich selten sowas freches erlebt habe, wie diesen Typen an dem Stand!

Die Bratwurst geht so, aber das Personal ist sowas von unfreundlich und frech. Sie gehen zwischendurch Rauchen was ok ist, aber hab schon beobachtet das danach keine Hände gewaschen werden. Auf ansprechen diesbezüglich bekommt man nur böse Bemerkungen zu hören. Auch wenn Ketchup und Senf verschmiert sind und man es anspricht, kommt dann soll man besser aufpassen und nicht kleckern. Ganz schlecht und nicht weiter zu empfehlen.

War früher wirklich mal gut, jetzt kann man aber nur davon abraten. Die Wurst ist sehr fett und schmeckt überhaupt nicht mehr.

Es arbeitet dort ein Mann der schon mehrfach in Erfurt beobachtet werden konnte, wie er Passanten oder Personal beleidigt oder bedrängt hat. Er trinkt Alkohol in der Bratwurstbude in einer Papiertüte. Nicht zu empfehlen, super unfreundlich und aggressiv.

Ich bin noch nie auf einen so überheblichen und aufbrausenden Verkäufer gestoßen. Es war eine absolute Katastrophe, dass sich eine solche Person mitten in der belebten Innenstadt von Erfurt befand. Es tut mir leid, aber dieser Mensch benötigt dringend professionelle Hilfe und sollte nicht in einem touristischen Gebiet wie der Nähe der neuen Mühle in der Altstadt von Erfurt arbeiten.

Die Bratwurst ist bestenfalls mittelmäßig, der Verkäufer hingegen dürfte einer der ungehobeltesten Menschen in ganz Erfurt sein. Also, wer zu gute Laune hat, kann da schon mal hingehen.

Die Bratwurst lag mir den ganzen Tag quer im Magen, war offensichtlich nicht gut durch. Vom "freundlichen" Personal reden wir gar nicht erst. Und wie sich wenige Meter später zeigte, gibt's die Thüringer Bratwurst selbst auf dem Domplatz günstiger. Hier sollte statt des Kunden besser mal das Gesundheitsamt stehen.

Wer Lust auf eine unterdurchschnittliche Bratwurst für viel zu viel Geld hat, der ist hier genau richtig. So kann man Touristen, die Thüringer Bratwurst abgewöhnen. Unfreundlich und nicht in der Lage, eine Wurst von allen Seiten zu grillen.

Die Bratwurst war gut, die Freundlichkeit des dortigen Grillers trotz eines „Guten Tag, wir hätten gerne zwei Bratwürste im Brötchen.“ nicht vorhanden.

Die Wurst war bestenfalls unterdurchschnittlich, der Betreiber aber massiv unfreundlich und genervt. Wenn man keinen Bock auf einen Job mit Kundenkontakt hat, soll man ihn nicht machen und den Frust über sein verkacktes Leben nicht an Menschen, die nichts dafür können, rauslassen.

Unfreundlich und asozial, Beruf verfehlt.
