Very, very delicious food, a fantastic, unusual menu, and the ambiance and decor of the restaurant are super nice. The staff were prompt and extremely friendly. The dishes are also incredibly creatively presented :)...a real eye-catcher. We just didn't like the background music at all; it just wasn't our style and was rather annoying, and ordering or reading the menu via QR code is just not our thing. I understand the reasoning behind it, especially with a frequently changing menu, but I still don't like it. They were kind enough to let us place our order right away, which was really nice. So, all in all, a definite recommendation.

We were in the mood for a vegetarian/vegan restaurant. We highly recommend Botanica. The restaurant is decorated with great care and lots of love. The dishes are superbly selected, often made with local products, and are incredibly delicious. You can really fill up here. You pay a bit more for the food served, BUT it's really worth it. A tip for people with social anxiety and similar social difficulties: you can order everything on-site via your smartphone's browser. So, if you can't—or don't want to—speak to a waiter for whatever reason, you can order in a relaxed manner.

We kwamen net terug van onze vakantie in Polen, waar we in Lodz uitzonderlijk goed vegan gegeten hadden, en daar kan Botanica toch niet aan tippen (noch het eten, noch de drankjes). Het eten is correct van prijs, de plantaardige drankjes zijn echt duur.

My personal favorite restaurant. Using plant-based ingredients that are almost exclusively regional, seasonal, and organic, they create delicious delicacies served by friendly staff. I even finally learned to love asparagus here. The friendly managers are always open to constructive criticism and suggestions and are happy to share their knowledge and experiences.

First of all, the online reservation and ordering via mobile phone must be praised. This is great, even for introverts. The restaurant is always fully booked, which is why I recommend making a reservation. The food is also delicious and seasonally creative. They go wild with vegan dishes here, and we had no complaints about the food. However, a few things went wrong with the service. Firstly, the drinks were spilled during the starter, and towels for our clothes were only brought after we asked. Then the food was accidentally served to another table, only to be taken away from those guests and left there for us. Up until this point, we would have been tolerant. However, during our meal, a new reservation was placed at our table without comment. The new guests then arrived, and we were coldly informed of our time slot. We hadn't been in the restaurant for 1.5 hours at this point. When we politely expressed that the whole situation made us uncomfortable, there was no real apology. I know what it's like working in the restaurant industry, but we were already working today, and we didn't want our visit to Botanica to feel like a takeout restaurant or a mass-processing experience. We felt completely out of place and uncomfortable, especially towards the end.

The burgers and Asian wraps were absolutely delicious. Even the older meat eaters were pleasantly surprised. The poop for dessert was delicious and photogenic. The homemade lemonade lacked flavor and wasn't sweet enough for me. But it was more sensible this way. We'd come again.

We had dinner delivered for our small private wedding reception and it was SUPER delicious! My husband and I are vegan, the majority of our family is not ^^ So there were a few skeptics in our rows...Nevertheless, everyone enjoyed it excellently and the food was highly praised. The quantity was also more than sufficient. There was even some leftover so we didn't have to cook for the next two days :D And even when warmed up, the food was still VERY tasty ^^ The prior arrangement was easy to make over the phone. The offer was sent via email in no time. The delivery was also on time and all containers/plates were clean and stylish. We can warmly recommend Botanica/Madame Lulu as a caterer. Also because not only regional and seasonal ingredients are used here, but the work/cooking is done with love and passion. You can feel and taste it. Thank you so much <3 We will order from you again and again!

This restaurant is special. Rustic, rather simple atmosphere, relatively few tables (so order in advance, but you can only do this online, not by phone, but it works very quickly). And then a (naturally plant-based) cuisine that you may have never tasted before, really good. The price is a bit high, it is completely manufactured. I recommend: If you haven't been there yet, try it out!

We ate there with five people and the food was again absolutely excellent! Everything is freshly prepared and cooked with regional products. The service is quick and friendly and the atmosphere is really nice. The restaurant invites you to linger, as does the garden in spring/summer or autumn. Individual requests for changes are always implemented, which is a real advantage if you have allergies or intolerances!

We were at Botanica today and enjoyed the delicacies on the winter menu. After eating the best tomato soup in the world here some time ago, today I had the best pumpkin soup in the world. Everything is so cleverly prepared, it's amazing what explosions of flavor are conjured up here. The pear galette was also a dream and so was the burger. Everything is so lovingly and attractively prepared. The changing dessert in the glass is always a magical recommendation. The drink was a creation made with house-fermented ingredients. Here we always find particularly delicious creations. The service was again super friendly and we always feel like we are “guests with friends” here. We look forward to next time!

We have been to Botanica many times and we like to take visitors from other cities to Botanica. The food is seasonal and generally very tasty. The creative dishes really appeal to me. Sometimes there's something there that doesn't quite suit my taste, but that's part of it. If you don't try, you don't win. The drinks are also lovingly designed and absolutely delicious. There is usually good advice about the food and drinks.

New Year's Eve dinner It was announced as a New Year's Eve dinner in the "oldsCool Eastern Bloc" family style and this description was 100% accurate for us. There were wonderful traditional delicacies, a few specialties were limited to one piece per person, it was more than enough to fill you up. None of us knew each other, but we all started talking about passing all the different treats back and forth. Without a doubt, this evening is something different and special, but if you get involved with the motto, you had a delicious, fun dinner in Eastern Bloc style

New Year's Eve Dinner 2024! My wife and I wanted to try something different and came across this vegan restaurant, which sometimes had quite contradictory reviews. Since it's always best to see for yourself, we (as non-vegans - but really open to a lot) dared to try. Ambience: Announced dinner from 6.30 p.m. to 10 p.m.) Nice location, the idea of ​​a large table for everyone on this special day was also a nice idea. So there were some pretty nicely arranged appetizers on the set “table”. There were a few short words of welcome and the advice to share the appetizers (cold) because there wasn't one available for everyone (for 16 guests)?? The warm part of the meal then consisted of a few bowls of "schlonzig" mashed potatoes and a vegan (pre-bought - as it turned out) sausage in a dressing gown - done!! The salads, nice but nothing special. The highlight (dessert) at the end = 5 fruits on a skewer (one for each, mind you) dipped in chocolate. The announced organic wine, organic sparkling wine = none because the presented bottle of sparkling wine (1 for everyone) looked so nice?? The whole thing was more or less over after 3/4 of an hour and everyone could have gone home (which some did straight away). Please don't get me wrong, you could eat everything, it was definitely tasty - but for the money (and we still have to work for our money), the whole thing was unfortunately an imposition - no offense.

Essen war okay, allerdings sind die Portionen viel zu klein und lassen nicht zum hohen Preis, trotz Vorspeise sind wir hungrig aus dem Restaurant raus. Service ist unter Durchschnitt. Teller werden nicht abgeräumt und nachgefragt ob man noch etwas möchte wird auch nicht. Dazu kommt die lange Wartezeit. Kritik ist wird nicht gerne gesehen. Es gibt ja zum Glück noch mehr Restaurants, die sich über Kunden freuen.

The restaurant cannot handle criticism and posts the review on social networks. Impossible. Deal with criticism constructively and get better and don't cry. Everything was great on the first visit, but the second visit wasn't as convincing. The portion size didn't match the price and could have been larger or had more side dishes. My ravioli only had a bit of lettuce on the side. The potato wedges weren't really convincing as some of them were still very firm to the bite. We found the waiting time to be too long. Even with an appetizer, we left the restaurant hungry.

We are regularly in Magdeburg and eat out here every now and then, but that's more because we want to eat vegan and the options in this city are quite manageable. The ambience in the garden is very nice. The service on our first visit was so pleasant that we came back the next day. However, the really lovely waiter wasn't there and the colleague who served was simply distant and rather cold. The boss can't be topped when it comes to arrogance. In Berlin, with its oversupply, this store would certainly have gone bankrupt, because service there determines capacity utilization. But in Magdeburg you can still afford to punish your guests if, for example, you want a table because all tables are only reserved in 2 hours. We would have liked to leave straight away, but we were just hungry. The kitchen is okay... but the service needs to be significantly adjusted.

Great shop! :) Personally, I found it a bit cold (would a heated mirror or something similar be an option?), it could be more comfortable to sit in and the main courses were 'just' ok, but overall we were still very impressed. The appetizer platter is really awesome, service, ambience, uncomplicated ordering, timing - everything was great. My friend, who is a non-meat eater, also thought it was great and so we will be happy to come back.

The restaurant is easy to reach by tram or on foot, not far from the main train station, the cathedral and the city center. Bicycle parking is available directly on site. The ambience is very inviting, spacious, bright and warm. The many plants in the room and in the courtyard are a feast for the eyes! The menu is available online, saving you time, paper and the discomfort of how many fingers the menu may have already been through. The selection of food and drinks is versatile, contemporary and varied, containing numerous seasonal and regional products. Many sophisticated and not so well-known lemonades, teas, spirits and cocktails are on the drinks menu. No matter whether it's wraps, burgers, pasta or even a fried cauliflower - the food has always been extremely fresh, finely put together, generously portioned, beautifully presented and super tasty! The cakes, and if you're lucky, the cinnamon buns, are also very delicious. The service is very quick, friendly and always attentive. The prices are reasonable and totally justified with the great craftsmanship and attention to detail behind it. Without a doubt one of the most beautiful and high quality restaurants in Magdeburg, a must for vegans! Thank you to the lovely & dedicated team for all the lovely evenings in your restaurant! A really attractive, original little restaurant with delicious vegan cuisine that we discovered by chance while passing through. The service was personable and attentive. I had a seasonal soup as a starter, which tasted very good, as did the wrap I ordered as my main course. My husband was also very happy with his burger. Clear recommendation and gladly again!

Das Botanica ist ein sehr hübscher Laden aber sehr preisintensiv. Leider wird der hohe Preis der Qualität der Speisen in keinster Weise gerecht. Optisch hübsch angerichtet, ist es doch leider geschmacklich alles unterer Durchschnitt. Da die Hauptküche im Keller ist und hier stark mit Schimmel zu kämpfen ist, wird auch schon mal nach drei Tagen die Streußel vom Kuchen gekratzt und neue drauf getan. Dann geht er wieder in den Verkauf. Die Chefin mit ihrem ungeheuerlichem Ego ist schon als Narzistin zu bezeichnen. Ihr Umgang mit Angestellten spricht sich in ganz Magdeburg rum. Ein ehemaliger Koch dort hatte die Nase gestrichen voll, kündigte und hat in einem richtigen Restaurant am Schleinufer in der Küche angefangen. Frau Gaidamacha zutiefst Beleidigt, schrieb dem neuen Vorgesetzten wie schlecht und unmöglich ihr Koch war. Das sagt alles über das Niveau ihres Führungsstils und ihres Botanica aus! Auch sämtliche ehemalige Mitarbeiterinnen klagen über die unmöglichen Zustände dieser Lokalität und der Inhaberin. Leider keine Empfehlung und eins der schlechtesten Restaurants Magdeburg.

Botanica is a very nice shop, but unreasonably expensive. Unfortunately, the high price does not do justice to the quality of the food. Visually beautifully presented, but unfortunately everything tastes below average. The main kitchen in the basement is struggling with mold. If the cake is not sold, the sprinkles are scraped off the cake after three days and new ones are put on top. Then it goes on sale again. The boss with her outrageous ego can be described as a narcissist. The word about your treatment of employees spreads throughout Magdeburg. A former chef there got fed up, quit and started working in the kitchen at a real restaurant on the Schleinufer. Ms. Gaidamacha, deeply offended, wrote to the new supervisor how bad and impossible her cook was. That says everything about the level of her leadership style and her botanica! All former employees also complain about the impossible conditions of this location and the owner. Unfortunately no recommendation and one of the worst restaurants in Magdeburg.

We came here based on the previous positive reviews and unfortunately we can't agree with that at all - not to say that we were totally disappointed. The ambience was beautiful, but unfortunately that was it. Absolutely unpleasant (!!!): Menu is only available online via QR code. Anyone who comes without a cell phone has lost? Or gets the waiter’s cell phone. You can also order this way... (If we had known that, we wouldn't have started the one-hour walk and would have left the whole thing alone). We continued with the service, whose friendliness wasn't really authentic. Rather simply well practiced... The food took a long time to arrive and was mediocre. The raviolo is what it promises, ONE huge noodle thing with filling. Not much taste. The starter bread was burnt and some of the potatoes were not cooked properly. When asked how the food was, the answer was honest (that the raviolo didn't match the taste), they couldn't handle that. Apparently they only accept “Great” as an answer.. In the end we lost €70 and weren't particularly enthusiastic (the people in the environment were rather cold and withdrawn). It's a shame! There would be potential...

Disgusting food and strange people

Loading full, rightly so!!! We were still allowed to stay, even without a reservation. Super nice team, but the food...... Such a taste explosion - never had before. A soup seasoned to perfection, very delicately and elaborately decorated, delicious! The bowl is awesome. Everything was specially prepared, the sauce was slightly spicy, everything was mega mega super. I'm only vegan, Botanica tops them all

The ambience of the store is beautiful and something very special. The place literally exudes history and you can also sit outside in the small courtyard. The store is very nicely decorated and fits the concept perfectly. The male service employee with the glasses is also extremely competent and gives everyone very good advice. What I don't like so much is that the card is only available online. When I go to a restaurant, I don't want to have to use my phone. And if you choose a digital solution like this, it's because you regularly adjust the menu and visualize the food. Pictures of the dishes would also help to better estimate the size of the portions (e.g. the small and large potatoes). Unfortunately, in my opinion, this doesn't happen very often. I also think it's a shame that the food is already at a higher price level, considering that many dishes consist of burgers and wraps. I think there is still room for improvement, even if my standards are perhaps a bit too high. In my opinion, the homemade lemonades and tea are highly recommended. Otherwise, as described, the store is something very special and I can only recommend reserving online as the seats are, rightly, in high demand. You can also take food with you, which I think is very good.

Interesting and unusually tasty combination

Ich kannte es noch von vor zwei Jahren. Damals war ich begeistert, das Essen war lecker -der Service ebenso. Diesmal hatten wir reserviert und einen Geburtstagsgast dabei. Keine Kerze, kein nettes Wort, keine Nachfrage ob es geschmeckt hat. Es wurden auch benutzte Gläser und Teller trotz Nachbestellung nicht abgeholt, sodass wir es erst einmal nebenan auf den Tisch stellten. Das Essen an sich hat aber allen geschmeckt. Schade nur, dass mit den Gästen so gleichgültig umgegangen wird. Da wir fast die einzigen waren, lag es auch nicht am Zeitmangel.

I'm just SHOCKED...how good a vegan burger can be. I really like eating burgers and I'm relatively sensitive to them, but the burger here...is on a par with the best meat burger I've ever eaten. So really the food here is absolutely brilliant! The only criticism...the chair was really hard and uncomfortable. Otherwise everything is perfect.

Highly Recommended! Great, calm atmosphere, beautifully decorated interior. There is a truly unique selection of (vegan) food and drink compositions that you won't find anywhere else, and the offering changes depending on the season. Even well-known ingredients are innovatively prepared and combined so that you have a really great taste experience. That definitely justifies the slightly more expensive prices. Menu can only be accessed digitally via QR code, unfortunately not entirely clear. Staff very helpful and happy to answer any questions - I would be happy to come back :)

The food was delicious, but the patty of the burger was just way too thick. You only have the patty in your mouth, we didn't taste any of the rest. The service was not attentive. Although you can order and reorder using a QR code, you spend longer on your smartphone. Of course you can also order analogue, but unfortunately we were ignored. We also tried to draw attention to ourselves. Only when we got up and went up to the lady to say that we would like something more to drink did we say “yes, yes, in a moment”. And when she left the restaurant she stood in front of the door while she was serving a table and blocked it. When we asked that we would like to come over - we were ignored, unfortunately she didn't move away. That's why we didn't get our tram. Please simply position the tables differently or serve them from the other side of the table. The chairs are quite comfortable (garden), even with cushions. Unfortunately we got a place where the table and chairs were crooked. It had more of a beer garden charm.

The atmosphere is very nice and the regional and vegan cuisine is definitely impressive. I'm also very happy that digitalization is very important here and you can order both the food bill and the waiter simply with a "click". BUT it is not a must and personal contact with the people there is still possible! The atmosphere is also great, but you should definitely book in advance as it gets very crowded at peak times due to its small size. The only drawback I had was that the portion size was "just" okay. But if you don't try to eat until you can't eat anymore, you'll get full, so you don't have to worry about starving! I wouldn't recommend it to vegans either, the food is really delicious and I was completely satisfied!
