Right from the start we were greeted in a friendly and polite manner and escorted to our reserved table. The extremely competent and nice waiter came to us after a very reasonable time to take our order. The waiter was very friendly and not above jokes, which of course brightened the mood considerably. Our dishes were very tasty, fresh and hearty. Arranging the dishes on the plates themselves was also very nice (we had schnitzel, rump steak and gyros; plus starters). We then decided on homemade desserts, which were extremely tasty and just right. We can highly recommend these. Overall, the price/performance ratio was great. Regarding the location/ambience itself: own parking space, cozy inside. There is also a large, beautiful terrace where you can also eat. Highly recommended.

I can only agree with the one-star reviews. The service team is embarrassingly unprofessional. Uncoordinated, chaotic in places and flippant in dealing with guests. As soon as we ordered our drinks we realized that the place was a mess. After what felt like an hour our drinks were served, warm and stale cola that tasted like a store brand from the discount store. I would say that Freeway Cola tastes similar. The beers were also anything but tasty. Incomprehensible to me since you can't really go wrong with drinks. One of the waitresses seemed completely overwhelmed and radiated it. I have never experienced worse or more unprofessional service. The location is basically nice but not clean on the terrace. Too many cobwebs in the dirty old umbrellas. Please also look up when cleaning. The food was served an hour after we ordered and didn't really impress us. I can no longer say whether the overall impression played a role here. The negative impressions were reflected in the great hunger. We often eat out and empty plates speak for themselves. I would have loved to sink my plate (schnitzel) into the nearby Old Rhine. There's a lot of catching up to do in the kitchen. I will never come here again and I won't recommend this restaurant either. The impressions were too subterranean.

Ladies and Gentlemen We proudly approached this establishment, hoping to get a hearty treat. The reviews the day before left me rather depressed, but we still stopped by to give the boathouse a chance. Even getting there was a bit difficult. The restaurant is in a very secluded location on the Rhine and doesn't look that inviting from the outside. Inside, however, you can't complain, everything seemed very tidy. The terrace seats could be much better. Although the view is beautiful and the potential is there, an inviting ambience also requires pleasant decoration. You can also remove things like spider webs etc. from the tables. Otherwise the space outside is really not bad. The toilets represent a paradox. I went to the toilet several times and the cubicles were always occupied, despite the rather low occupancy, otherwise fine. Goes better, goes worse. The service, and I really have to agree with all the negative reviews, was terrible. I don't say that to badmouth the service (which nevertheless made an effort), but because nothing worked. It started with the fact that it took 10-15 minutes for the drinks to arrive, the drinks were then taken and then it took another 10-15 minutes for the drinks to arrive - with the wrong drinks, mind you. That alone would have been enough to get up and leave - if the drinks were causing such problems, you could have guessed what the food would be like. Well, the drinks were lukewarm and really didn't taste good - and that after 30 minutes of waiting, just the drinks. Well, then the food was finally eaten and then nothing happened for another 45 minutes. We had ordered simple appetizers that could have been served within 10-15 minutes, but they just didn't come. In the meantime we had considered paying and leaving - again to take notes: 20-30 minutes until the drinks arrived - then another 45 minutes and still nothing in our stomachs. After about an hour the starters arrived - again not complete. Not everyone got their starter at the same time and some were forgotten. Everything tastes very solid, the price is definitely juicy, but just about acceptable. Absolutely not a highlight, but okay. There was about 20-30 minutes between the starter and the main course. The main courses were mixed, burgers were good - but nothing more. I didn't think the schnitzel was good, really. Despite the sauce, these were tough and tasted rather bland. Steak was just OK too. In terms of taste, it's really not great for this waiting time - and mind you, it's not at full capacity. There were several waiters present and only a few tables were occupied - but something was always forgotten, the waiting time was long and the drinks and food were also poor in taste - and at hefty prices, which would have been appropriate if the food had been delicious, but here tended to lead to even more question marks. The service was so overwhelmed and uncoordinated - one waiter didn't know anything about the other and everyone radiated this hustle and bustle. It just seemed anything but sociable and pleasant, the stay was extremely long due to the waiting times, even though we should have left long beforehand. It simply seems as if there is no gastronomic experience or training here - even I, as a layman, noticed this immediately. Seldom seen such an uncoordinated shed - the other guests also took it that way. And again: Despite the negative reviews about the waiting time etc., we came and wanted to see for ourselves and it turned out once again that it was exactly as described. Was here for the first time today. First of all, the atmosphere is great. We had a beautiful sunset and great space on the terrace. Relaxed house music plays in the background. The staff is very friendly. Now to the points that we didn't like so much. It took forever to get the tickets, then it took forever to get the drinks. And the meal ended up taking about 1.5 hours. Then it all came at once. So starter and main course together. I have to say it tasted very tasty. Afterwards there was a dessert, which, however, was a long time coming. Unfortunately, the kiwi berries were cut from the onions with a knife, which was clearly reflected in the taste. I worked in the catering industry for a long time and I understand when things don't go well and everyone is just human. But there were just too many things going wrong today, hence the rating.

Absolutely great location. Great terrace with a view of the Rhine, courteous service, delicious food, and the driveway directly along the decommissioned nuclear power plant is also impressive. I think it's worth a visit.

Great place! We got a nice table on the sun terrace followed by the sunset. Unfortunately, the waiting time was a bit long due to a lack of staff, but you can bridge it with the view and nice conversations! Food was great!

Table was reserved for 6:30 p.m. When we arrived on time, the table had not yet been cleared and wiped down, so we had to wait 10 minutes. The food we ordered was only served at 8 p.m. upon request. The request for the bill after the meal was ignored and paid at the counter at 8:10 p.m. The food itself was okay, the service was subpar.

Yesterday we had a spontaneous meal in the boathouse. The service was super friendly, the food was just as great, the view of the Rhine (despite the flood) was like a holiday in the weather. Drinks and food arrived very quickly. No complaints. We will be back definitely :-)

We sat on the terrace for the second time and were again thrilled by the view of the Rhine and the food. Burgers, schnitzel, salad and side dishes like vegetables and potatoes were great (for us)! We like it here! We continue to cycle here, occasionally from Heidelberg (total 68km). Super beautiful bike paths without traffic and good food, what more could you want! Mostly nice weather :-)

We were in the boathouse for the first time today and were rather disappointed. We ordered both meat and salad. The meat was OK so far, the lettuce was very sandy, most likely not washed enough, and partly wilted. We found the service unprofessional because we sometimes had to wait a long time or some of the food was missing. The ambience and the name don't match the menu at all. Given that it has a very maritime theme, the selection of fish is extremely sparse. It's a shame, we expected more.

When we arrived we were greeted very friendly by a cellar in the restaurant and escorted to our seat. A few minutes later the waiter came back and asked us for drinks, which were brought very quickly. Afterwards we were asked about the food, despite having to decide our food and the special requests several times, the waiter remained very friendly and calm and repeated it again that it was fine now The food came lovingly prepared and was sufficient and very tasty. All 10 people received their food at the same time, so no one had to wait Afterwards everyone wanted an ice cream and again special requests that weren't actually on the menu, but a solution was found and the boss brought it to us, she was also very friendly and nice and asked us if everything was okay, Everything was very decoratively arranged, even just a simple scoop of ice cream with cream came in a very nice cup, so you thought it was a real waffle. We also had small children with us who were able to pass the time at a small game table, painting or playing small games. The ambience is wonderful and when the weather is nice you sit on the terrace with a view of the Rhine and you feel like you are on holiday. If the weather is bad you can eat in a very nicely decorated large dining room. The service was very friendly, people kept asking if everything was OK or if there was anything else they wanted. Parking spaces are plentiful. Conclusion: We would be happy to come back and we were completely satisfied with everyone.

Four of us were guests in the boathouse on May 24th, 2024. The location is in a very nice spot, with a direct view of the Rhine from the super beautiful and large terrace. There are enough parking spaces and it's nice to eat away from the hustle and bustle of shops, streets or noise. When we arrived, the restaurant impressed us with its cleanliness, bright rooms and very friendly and courteous service. The interiors are nicely decorated and there is enough space so you don't end up sitting close together like others. We were served very quickly in a friendly, courteous manner. The drinks were quickly brought to our table. Overall we were very happy with the food and it was definitely homemade and NOT frozen! The burgers were prepared with super fresh lettuce, tomatoes, etc. and the various sauces were also very tasty! The vegetarian dish was also very tasty and the grilled vegetables in particular had a convincing taste and were very fresh! We were also recommended a very good wine from the boathouse, which all four of us enjoyed very much and it won't be the last time we eat there. Thank you for the fast, very friendly service. We had a very enjoyable and enjoyable evening there and are already looking forward to more! The restaurant is located on the club grounds of the Ski and Canoe Club Philippsburg e.V., very close to the Rhine behind the Philippsburg nuclear power plant. You have to drive around the power plant to reach it. The building stands on stilts as flood protection and offers a beautiful outdoor terrace and spacious grounds with a pleasant atmosphere. Inside, the atmosphere is a bit dark and the interior looks a bit old, but there is enough space for larger celebrations as long as you can handle the dark wood. The toilets are fine. An unpleasant detail was the music in the guest room, which was played via a smartphone. A loose contact often led to an annoying ground hum, which was at least made quieter at the request of the guests. The young service staff did not leave a professional impression. In addition to asking downright stupid questions, they knew little about the food and drinks on offer and had a less than polite and courteous tone. The menu should be highlighted positively: In addition to the usual “Wiener-style schnitzel” dishes, a real Viennese schnitzel made from veal is also offered, a rarity today. The food came after 30 minutes and was tasty. The chef also came to the guests and seemed authentic. Overall, the "Bootshaus zum Glück" offers a mixed experience with some ups and downs.

Have eaten here very often. And everything is always great. As well as now on Sunday, for Mother's Day brunch. It was very rich, there was something for everyone. The buffet was beautifully decorated with attention to detail. Service friendly and very nice. The boss also came by to check whether everything was OK. View is a dream. Parking lots available. We are always completely satisfied.

We went there for Mother's Day brunch and it exceeded all expectations!! I was just on vacation in a 5* hotel and I didn't have such a great buffet. Everything was prepared with a lot of love. The selection and quality were top notch. Plus the loving service! Everything was great and can only be recommended

The food was served in beautiful plates, very modern! There were strawberries with the side salad, which I thought was great. The service is very friendly and quick despite the house being full. The cocktails were great! The location is incredibly beautiful and decorated in a very modern way. Overall, a top restaurant, I can only recommend it 👌🏼

Boathouse, visually promising, but unfortunately it was very disappointing. The waitress came very quickly to take the order, unfortunately this was a positive review. There were 7 of us and there were few guests in the restaurant who had already been served. The 7 drinks took a full 45 minutes, which was incomprehensible. The waitress came twice after ordering, the first time they didn't have any limes for a caipirinha and then they didn't have any more pilsner. Instead of the Caipirinha, you ordered a Hugo that was on the menu with 0.4l and got a glass with 0.3l in it... After ordering the food, the waitress came 5 minutes later and said there were no more French fries, hmm... I've never experienced that before. I myself had a cordon bleu with fried potatoes. The fried potatoes were very dark, fried slightly black in places and they were more like half to quarter potatoes with skin on, which has nothing to do with fried potatoes. The ham and cheese in the Cordon Bleu did not taste good and the breading and the rectangular shape as well as the taste of the Cordon Bleu were more reminiscent of a frozen product. The serving style is rather old school and careless. What business do two orange slices have on a plate with a cordon bleu these days? The waiter handed out the cutlery by hand. There was no food served, perhaps they were empty. All in all, it was one of the worst restaurants I've ever visited. Some cafeteria food is better.

Very long waiting times when ordering even though there were only a few guests present. After the actual order, we had to reorder several times because there were no more fries, no limes (for cocktails) and no pilsner. The boathouse, beautifully located on the Rhine, seemed a bit unkempt, there were huge cobwebs hanging on the house. On the "Fitness Salad" I ordered there was a quartered half pear that was already slightly brown with the core. (Why fruit on a salad?) The salad dressing was quite spicy for my taste. The chicken was probably a pre-breaded product that was fried and cut into pieces (although the cornflake breading partially fell off). Not good in taste. Only the bread that came with the salad was fresh and tasty. The service was tried hard, but still has a lot of room for improvement. It is important to be trained in how to deal with guests, how to set the food and how to serve.

Unfortunately I can't give more than one star. The view is really beautiful but that's it. You have to expect a waiting time of at least an hour, regardless of whether you have ordered an appetizer or not. When you asked how long it would take, you were told that you wouldn't have to wait that long. The waitresses are generally rather listless and not very friendly. Overall just a disappointment! The view doesn't make it any better, it was the last time we were there.

Unfortunately the quality of the food couldn't make up for the abnormally long food wait times. The conditions seem listless and overwhelmed. Unfortunately we won't be coming back.

The food was disappointing as both the Kordonbleu and the schnitzel were obviously frozen and the Bernaise sauce was made from a ready mix. The wait for the food was unreasonably long, even though the restaurant wasn't full - we waited a full 55 minutes! In addition, the service left something to be desired as our drinks were only served after 25 minutes. Another negative point was that the waitress simply took the tip without me mentioning it. The rump steak I ordered wasn't of good quality either. Overall, my experience at the boathouse was fortunately extremely disappointing and unfortunately I cannot recommend it.

I have to say it was really great. Great food, really tastes good. The service was nice and friendly. The boss himself often came to the table and asked how it tasted and everyone was thrilled. Price/performance also fits. But for big eaters there should be larger portions on the menu, then you would be really happy. I highly recommend it

My husband and I go there often and have also celebrated birthdays there. The food is very, very good and our guests are always enthusiastic. The service and ambience are also good and in summer you can sit on a very nice terrace directly on the Rhine. The tenant couple are very warm and friendly and always have the guests' well-being at heart. Luckily I can only recommend the boathouse.

The wine was rubbish, either stored incorrectly or expired. The second wine that was brought was also - well, you know, 😫 The food was ok, although there was some ready-made paddy in the burger. Even if the service doesn't seem to have any training as a restaurant specialist, you can attest to always trying hard and in short, you can, you don't have to.

Unfortunately the buffet for €24 is very thin and not that good. It wasn't filled even though we were there at peak time.

Arrived around 5 p.m. and we were offered “free choice of seats”. After 15 minutes at a place we had chosen, we were asked to sit at a smaller table. (At that time there were around 4 tables occupied inside) After another 15 minutes, the drinks were picked up and brought and the food was picked up. These finally arrived after an endless 80 minutes, while other guests came after us and still had their orders served before us. At around 6:30 p.m. the food arrived, which consisted of a burger and a “Spanish” tapas plate (besides piementos, there was nothing Spanish on the entire plate, but there were shrimp in batter, 1 chicken nugget and 1 mushroom with 2 pieces of pepperoni with cream cheese filled from a jar, potato wedges and a spicy mayonaise sauce). A plate of mixed fried parts, but by no means a “mixed taps plate”! It's a shame, we won't be coming anymore.

I had dinner there as a surprise anniversary with my boyfriend and our daughter. At my request, the table was beautifully decorated with extra candles etc. Thanks again for that! There is a wonderful atmosphere there with a view of the Rhine, super friendly staff and mega delicious dishes :D I can only warmly recommend it!

Sehr freundliches aufmerksames Personal....Essen schmeckt und ist reichlich. Bei Hochwasser leider nicht zu erreichen.

Wir waren mit 6 Kollegen hier zum Abendessen. Jeder hat etwas anderes bestellt, aber alle waren hoch zufrieden. Bedienung ist auch sehr freundlich.

Wir waren heute das insgesamt 4 mal dort, wie viele vorher sind wir abermals vom Service , Ambiente und vor allem vom Essen beeindruckt. Was uns abermals sehr positiv aufgefallen ist ,das alle Gerichte nicht nur wunderbar schmecken ,nein auch sehr liebevoll angerichtet/dekoriert waren! Einfach toll! Wie bei vielen der anderen Rezessionen,können wir nur nochmals ,den außergewöhnlich netten Service loben. Unserer Meinung nach ,ein rundum gepflegtes Restaurant mit allem was man sich wünscht , wenn man sich etwas gutes tun/essen möchte. Seeeeehr zu empfehlen

Die Lokation ist einfach der Hammer, wir hatten einen Sonnenplatz auf der Terrase mit Blick auf den Rhein. Alleine das lädt schon zum Entspannen ein. Der Service war super freundlich als auch geduldig und hat jegliche Sonderwünsche (5 Personen darunter 3 Kinder) erfüllt. Das Auge isst ja bekanntlich mit, unsere wurden definitiv satt :-) sehr hübsch angerichtet, super lecker und alles knackig frisch. Auch die Kinder wurden satt und waren zufrieden, was möchte man mehr. Wir können das Bootshaus von Herzen weiterempfehlen, werden auch definitiv wieder kommen. Bei unserem Besuch war es sehr sehr gut besucht, ist dann auch verständlich, dass das Essen nicht gleich innerhalb von 20 Minuten fertig ist. Also bei herrlichem Wetter, einfach die Sonne genießen, bestellt euch noch was kühles zu trinken und entspannt euch. Euer Essen wird demnächst fertig sein. Um mal auf die etwas ungeduldigen zurückzukommen. Wer Fast Food möchte... ab zu Megges. In diesem Sinne Liebes Bootshaus Team macht weiter so ;-)

War wirklich sehr lecker 🤤 man muss zwar ein bisschen länger auf sein essen warten, aber ich denke das war wegen den vielen Gästen. Können das Restaurant auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!

So ein schönes Restaurant direkt am Rhein mit leckeren Gerichten, ein echter Geheimtipp, den wir durch Zufall entdeckt haben.

Super schön gelegenes Restaurant mit sehr guter Küche! Die Pasta mit Shrimps haben meiner Frau sehr gut geschmeckt, mir der Burger mit Hähchen auch! Der Beilagensalat für diesen Preis ist unschlagbar! Das Ambiente auch wirklich sehr schön am Rhein!

Normalerweise wirklich gerne hier gewesen. Aber wir haben 1h gewartet auf die Vorspeise.. Dann nochmal eine Stunde gewartet auf die Hauptspeise. Getränke wurden leer. Niemand kam, bin vor zum bestellen und nachfragen. Uns wurde gesagt "sofort" nichts passiert. Als ich zahlen wollte waren wir nicht hinterlegt. Nochmal 15min dagestanden keiner wußte wo vorne und hinten ist. Habe das Gefühl nur die Dame hinter den Thresen hatte einem Durchblick. Das Essen an sich ist wirklich gut! Und Normalerweise liebe ich das Restaurant. Was aber auch immer heute los war- sowas darf nicht sein. Selbst wenn es einen Ausfall gibt vom Personal muss entweder jemand auf Absprung da sein oder man nimmt keine Leute mehr an. Der Nachbarstisch hatte sich auch schon beschwert. Ich schreibe diese Bewertung nur auf Hoffnung das es hier eine Besserung gibt - es ist keinesfalls böse gemeint. Es ist einfach nicht gut organisiert, und ich will selber nicht das dieses Restaurant wegen sowas irgendwann weniger Umsatz macht.
