Outstanding food, wine and service. Stopped in after seeing some specials that looked great. It did not disappoint. The chicken, seafood risotto and the pasta was all excellent. The hummus appetizer was the best I’ve ever had . Will definitely return.

A highly recommended restaurant in the center of Frankfurt. We loved the ambience and the attention of the staff, and of course especially the food. For starters, we had tuna tartare and the black tiger prawns. For the main course we chose the beef fillet and the turbot fillet and can highly recommend both courses. Everything was very delicious, we will definitely come back.

Went here to celebrate a really special occasion and the ambiance was very cozy and romantic but I felt this place is extremely expensive for what we pay! I’ve had better dining experience in terms of food for much lesser price! The plating was also very mediocre! I hadn’t even finished my drink and the staff was in a hurry to clear the table! Weirdly the staff also started disinfecting/cleaning the table once he took food off the table after we finished it! But we still were drinking wine! I think cleaning the table can wait until we leave the restaurant! In the end we were also forced to tip 10% which was a rip off!

Had a delicious meal at Bon Vivant in Frankfurt. Atmospheric, cozy and personal restaurant. Nice inside, but also outside in front of the door a nice terrace. Really delicious food. Honest and pure food, good in taste. The fish was cooked just right. Add a nice wine and enjoy! We had a fantastic evening.

Best Mediterranean Kitchen in Frankfurt! Holiday feeling in the small alley in the middle of the city. If you want to eat THE best shrimp in olive oil, slightly spicy, you simply can't miss this spot. Fish and meat dishes don't disappoint either. After all the years of numerous visits and long fun evenings, we have never been disappointed. Those who know it know it, those who don't just shouldn't miss it.

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Frankfurt, especially in summer! In this small alley you feel like you are on holiday and the quality of the food is top notch. The best shrimp in garlic oil can be found here. But the meat and everything else has never disappointed me. Fine wines round it all off and the service is also extremely friendly. That's why I'm giving it a well-deserved 5 stars. Compliments to the entire team

The food is ok, but from a pricing point of view it is a rip-off and we encountered inappropriate events. For example they charged 9 euro’s per bottle of water. When I asked for the bill the waiter/owner asked for more tip then I suggested to give. He actually started a dialogue and said ‘that tip is not enough’ and started to put pressure. I felt this was strange and rude as a customer decides the tip and a waiter/owner should not negotiate tips.

Food was simply not good. Fish was old (smelled and had to be replaced) and all seemed to lack dedication and skill from the chef. I was there some years ago and remember it really well, but last night was not great by any means

Nice ambience, and that i almost the only good thing. The food is quite oliy and only mediocre. The waiter tells you that the portions are small and you should order at least a starter and a main course. The portions are good, not small. The prices are defenitely too high. For the required price, the quality should be strongly improved. What a pitty. A simple Italian restaurant around the corner serves better food for less than 1/2 price….

Just had a date night at BonVivant last night, and I can’t recommend this restaurant enough! It’s very romantic and the service is spectacular. The waiter was very gracious and allowed us to have a drink outside in between courses and was so great the whole night, allowing us to enjoy a whole evening there. It was a wonderful night, and the food was very very good, the mussels were really spectacular. Very highly recommended!

So so experience: i ordered a 54Euro ribeye steak which was an huge mistake, at least 1/3 of the steak full of grizzle, not eatable. The octopus was descent. At the end the waiter insisted on a 10% tip. would not recommend.

Das passiert selten: Wir waren im BonVivant mit allen drei Gängen sehr zufrieden. Ein eher simpler Tomaten/Brot Salat zur Eröffnung des Abends hat uns überrascht mit einem raffinierten Dressing, eingelegten Zwiebeln und äußerst schmackhaften Brot. Wie gut doch einfache Gerichte schmecken können... Mit unseren Hauptspeisen, Rinderragout und Fisch, ging unser Abend auf gleichem kulinarischem Niveau weiter. Die Kombination aus Süßkartoffelstampf und fein abgeschmecktem Ragout war Oberklasse. Der Fisch stand dem Ragout in Nichts nach. Der New York Cheese Cake als Nachtisch war nicht wirklich süß, in Kombination mit der dunklen Schokolade am Boden und oben drauf aber genau nach unserem Gusto. Selbst die wenigen Cocktails auf der Karte (wir haben drei davon probiert) haben uns gemundet. Zusammen mit der sehr freundlichen Bedienung, die verbindlich, aber unaufdringlich ihre Aufgabe erledigte, bleibt uns nur eine fünf Sterne Bewertung in allen Kriterien. Der Gastraum hat Wohnzimmeratmosphäre, die authentisch alten Anrichten sind schön anzuschauen, die sichtbare Steinwand ein Hingucker. Eins noch: Die Preise sind hoch, sogar sehr hoch. Normalerweise geht bei mir dafür ein Stern unter. Aber im BonVivant scheint mir das angemessen: Es macht mich glücklich, ab und zu das Herausragende unter dem Besonderen zu genießen - entspannt wie im eigenen Wohnzimmer. Dieses Gefühl ist mir einiges Wert - so gesehen ist das Essen im BonVivant den Preis wert.

This rarely happens: We were very satisfied with all three courses at BonVivant. A rather simple tomato/bread salad to open the evening surprised us with a sophisticated dressing, pickled onions and extremely tasty bread. How good simple dishes can taste... With our main courses, beef ragout and fish, our evening continued at the same culinary level. The combination of sweet potato mash and delicately seasoned ragout was top class. The fish was in no way inferior to the ragout. The New York Cheese Cake for dessert wasn't really sweet, but in combination with the dark chocolate on the bottom and on top, it was exactly how we liked it. We even enjoyed the few cocktails on the menu (we tried three of them). Together with the very friendly service, which carried out its task in a committed but unobtrusive manner, we only have a five star rating in all criteria. The guest room has a living room atmosphere, the authentically old sideboards are nice to look at, and the visible stone wall is an eye-catcher. One more thing: the prices are high, even very high. Normally a star goes down for me for that. But in BonVivant it seems appropriate to me: it makes me happy to enjoy the outstanding among the special every now and then - relaxed as if in my own living room. This feeling is worth a lot to me - in this sense, the food at BonVivant is worth the price.

There were two of us at Bonvivant and we wanted to have a nice evening. The first impression was very good, pleasant atmosphere and nice ambience made it possible to overlook the tables that were a bit too small (-; As soon as we had sat down, the service was already at the table, but somewhat surprisingly not with the question about aperitif and water but directly with it Ask which wine we want to drink, red or white. We then asked to take a look at the menu first. The best course was the starter, the tuna tartare was first class, all the other dishes were good, but didn't reach the same level Level. Despite the rather small dining room and few guests, the service was hardly present, dishes were mixed up when served, missed opportunities for refills, etc. It was actually minor inattention, but due to the pricing we had higher expectations of service and food. This was missed more often that evening. Short summary: Nice ambience, good food, service OK, prices not appropriate even if it's the city center of Frankfurt, but feel free to decide for yourself.

Good: 1. Nice cosy atmosphere. 2. Great location. Bad: 1. Prices are exaggerated. E.g. Salad Cesar without chicken 17 euros (for a bit of parmesan and salad leaves with souce and croutons) 26 euros same salad with hard and dry chicken. Definitely overpriced for such quality. 2. To pay by card you must go to the cashier. "Great" service. 3. Was insisted to leave 10% of the tip for the very usual service. Conclusion: Greediness of the owner results in empty restaurant in the heart of the city centre. Get some experience. Would not recommend a visit. Great food, great service and great ambience. We've heard a lot of positive things from friends beforehand - and we weren't disappointed. The ambience is great. Nice lighting, not too bright, not too dark in a stylish interior. The service was on point and was able to give us good advice on the wine selection. The food was a dream - a complete success.

A wonderful place with a great athmosphere and little romantic vibe. We were welcomed by a kind waiter who guided us through the menu and gave us excellent suggestions. The food was really deliscious. Try the burrata and the fish soup.

Perfect experience, A must do in frankfurt

This place was the perfect finale of a wonderful weekend in Frankfurt. Service was outstanding even though we hadn’t booked. The waiter went out of his way to provide us a seat, amazing wine and great food. We ordered starters with wine and main with a different wine and everything was timed spot on. Table got cleaned in between the meals, just go here. 🫶🏼

The two of us went to Bonvivant for a romantic evening. The service was top. Very nice hosts, super attentive and accommodating. The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. The food was very good. I ended up at Bonvivant because of the good reviews and was very surprised. Very average food at prices like in a star restaurant. (Bottle of water 9 euros? Glass of wine from 12? Tagliata 50 euros without a side dish and a measly plate of mediocre mussels 25?!) - What were you thinking? Funny idea of ​​"romance"... The shop was empty and will probably stay that way more often. It's a shame because the interior is actually cozy and well located.

The Bonvivant restaurant is comfortably furnished, the service is very courteous and the food is really excellent, the portions are more than sufficient. We can highly recommend it :)

We started our dinner with a burrata and shared a lamb shoulder (generous portion) for mains with two glasses of red chauvignon wine. We also had a delicious crème Catalan to change taste onour palates ☺️ The service was attentive and the food was very delicious. That’s why I would highly recommend this little gym tucked away in the middle of the city.

Absolutely not recommended. The service was really mediocre, the order had to be repeated dozens of times. Some at the table would nod and be asked what they wanted to drink. We wanted to order 5 fillets, then the waiter told us there were only two left. One of them didn't come medium as ordered, but more than medium. Absolutely bad for a total bill of €600. We won't come again

We were a group of 8. It's very cramped but nicely decorated. The waiter was an absolute disaster! First we ordered 4 fillets, he came back with the information, we only have 2 fillets left (it can happen) The waiter came three times to ask again about the order, a real disaster. After I ordered an entrocote with a medium cooking level, our food arrived. Unfortunately, it was completely through, so the waiter took it away and after a few minutes the second entrecote arrived, unfortunately totally rare. I let the food go back because I didn't feel like waiting anymore. We ordered the bill straight away and despite the complaint, the steak was charged with the words I am the owner, you pay it. Unfortunately very weak :( Conclusion: nice shop but the rest is a disaster!

We had reserved via OpenTable, had a 50-minute journey and found ourselves in front of closed doors. According to neighbors on vacation! Absolutely impossible!

We have a table for December 26th a month in advance. Reserved and received a reservation confirmation by email. On December 24th We received an email that our reservation for Boxing Day had been canceled. On the phone we were only told that they were closed. Unfortunately you can't rely on a reservation here and you'll be left without a table during the holidays. We also found the unfriendly reaction of the employee on the phone very unfortunate.

Wordless. We organized our Christmas party with a large group in these restaurants. Although we wanted a large table and this had already been discussed and confirmed a month before, we found that we all had to eat separately. No blanket, even though it's a Christmas party... no decorations except a poor, sad candle in the middle of the table. Everything LOVELESS, without effort. But the worst thing was that we pre-ordered the food a month ago and still have to wait more than an hour for cold starters which were even terrible. It was also said that we had exact schedules, but they didn't care at all. The food was terrible, totally loveless. Prices completely exaggerated and ridiculous. The suffle was a joke. I want to remind you that it is not pudding and not hot liquid chocolate. A big sad disappointment. Never there again.

I booked a table for 4 at 6:30pm for an internal Christmas dinner and we arrived on time. The restaurant was already felt good. No table was prepared for us. We were greeted unfriendly at the door and told that there were no tables available. When we said we had a reservation, there was no response and the cellar (with bad breath) said we should just come later, like in 45 minutes. I've never experienced anything like that: unfriendly, arrogant and arrogant. They didn't even apologize for the mistake, offer us a drink first or try to resolve the situation. NEVER AGAIN!!!! You don't have to offer yourself that kind of treatment these days given the prices for restaurants.

Really delicious food and attentive service in a unique atmosphere.

A romantic restaurant with a very nice ambience. Friendly, competent and highly attentive service. As a starter we had the prawns “al ajillo”, a treat like in Spain 🇪🇸 for the main course there was house special beef ragout with sweet potato mash and also the wild salmon fillet, each of which was almost perfectly balanced in taste in its own way. For dessert we had the chocolate soufflé, simply a hot chocolate dream. A unique restaurant Highly recommended we will be back very soon.

I just finished dinner at BonVivant in Frankfurt and was very pleasantly surprised (despite the high ratings the restaurant receives in multiple sites). My starter was the calamaretti which was perfect! It was served on a bed of beans with a (medium) spicy sauce. Every aspect of the dish was perfect: the size, the spiciness, and the flavor. My main course salmon served with potatoes (a weekly special). Also delicious and perfectly prepared. The wine list is relatively short, but has a very good range of options at reasonable prices. The service was excellent from start to finish. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Dieser Abend wurde uns in dreierlei Hinsicht traumhaft versüßt. Zum einen hieß uns, neben einem Charmanten Kellner ein warmes einladendes Ambiente im BonVivant willkommen. Mit perfekt ausgewälten und abgestimmten Weinen konnten wir uns in diesen tollen Abend einstimmen. Nachdem wir mit Begeisterung die Spinatsuppe und die herrlichen Muscheln in Weißweinsoße genossen haben, erwarteten uns zwei geniale Hauptgerichte. Ich kann nur sagen.... Das Lamm zergeht auf der Zunge und passt perfekt zum gut abgestimmten Süßkartoffelstampf. Und auch der Steinbutt hat geschmacklich absolut überzeugt. Er wurde von einer fein abgeschmeckten Sauce, Kartoffeln und grünem Spargel begleitet. Das Servicepersonal hat sehr aufmerksam nach uns geschaut und alle Wünsche erfüllt. Wir haben wirklich jede Minute rundum genossen und möchten gerne wiederkommen, um die anderen lecker-klingenden Gerichte zu probieren. Vielen Dank an das gesamte Team für diesen herrlichen Abend.

金曜日の夜に女子会で行きました。 7時でも空いていましたが、9時くらいには外の席は満席になっていました。ワインもご飯もデザートもおいしかったです。店員さんがワインもう1本！と何度も勧められて飲みすぎてしまいましたので、noという強い心も必要だと反省しました。場所は裏路地で落ち着いており、ゆっくり過ごせました。

Excellent optopus and great athposphere!

I had a very nice evening with my wife in this cosy restaurant. Spanish wine by the glass really to our taste. Starters, we first thought are on the pricey side but then saw the portions and more then fair - next time we share a starter 😉. Also the main dishes, the monk fish and the beef stew have been excellent. The plating was nothing fancy, but it felt like home and it was delicious. The highlight was the crema catalana one if not the best we had. The waiter was really hustling at the end as he was alone and the check out pc crashed but very friendly handling of the situation. To the owner just one recommendation, maybe just charge 6€ for the water and everybody would have a drink extra 😊.

An unpleasant disappointment. The restaurant has the atmosphere of the village tavern. A small space fully packed with a noisy crowd is anything but romantic. The service was prolonged, we even had to wait for bread because they did not have it prepared?!? The food was average, the vine decent, and everything was overpriced for such a poor standard.

Came here for dinner with a close friend and we have an amazing evening! The ambiance was superb; romantic and cosy with candles to match. Restaurant was less than 25% full, so we had no issues with slow service. If you’re going on a busy evening, I would brace yourself for a relaxed, slower dinner service. If you’re a couple with little to talk about, this probably isn’t the place for you. With the good chat and excellent wine, the time just flew by. Food was super tasty too. Wonderful evening for us.
