My (our) 6th or 7th evening meal here over several years. What was once a lively and comfortable restaurant now feels like a dull tourist trap. Staff showed little interest beyond a takeaway counter level of service, food was a mixture of hot and warm and a cocktail listed with ‘Fizz’ in the title was flat, syrupy and undrinkable. All a real shame. Used to love visiting and was a highlight of the city but really regret eating there tonight.

Solid lunch, but the waiter charged the 0.4 drink, even though there are only 0.2 drinks on the lunch menu, and "misunderstood" the tip. Willingness to correct incomplete. Unsatisfactory.

Unfortunately a bit overpriced for just something to drink. The outdoor area offers plenty of space. So stop by spontaneously even without a reservation.

The food, service, attitude: everything was bad.

At Bombay Friedrichstrasse I tried the Chicken Madrasi with rice as well as Paneer Naan and Garlic Naan. The Chicken Madrasi was spicy with a pleasant spiciness that went well with the rice. The naan breads were fresh, the paneer naan was tender and the garlic naan was aromatic. The service was attentive and friendly. There is enough seating outside. Overall, a solid Indian restaurant with authentic dishes.

Food was just ok. I expected more flavor and spice. Had the lunch special with the vegetarian option, which came with lentil soup. Also ordered the mango drink and didn’t like it since I’ve had much better. Not bad for the price but I won’t be returning.

Finally the “boss” with her shining eyes is back in Mitte. Now the service is good again...even if there are two of you, you don't have to sit next to the toilet, thank you. It's nice that you're back from Alt Tegel!!!

Best Indian food in Berlin !! The naan was purely amazing, seems like I was eating in India. The ghee and butter was extremely pure and rare. The paneer kadai was exceptional. The service was 5 syar

The staff was friendly, the main waiters spoke German. Chicken soup and palak paneer were ok… But stay away from Tandoori Chicken Tikka...a disaster! The meat has never seen a tandori oven, it is soft and limp. I've been to India too often and I know how it should be....the waiter said it was typically Indian, but apparently realized that I couldn't be fooled and offered - which was professional - a compensation in the form of Gulab Jamun - vanilla ice cream ... that after the main course a suitable compensation... so steer clear of Tandori chicken tikka

Yes, I love Indian food... I sat on the terrace which was very large so there was a good choice of seating... the food was a business menu and completely sufficient... the chicken vindaloo had a good spiciness but the sauce was a little bland like it came from a detra pack. .good price for a menu that also comes with soup and a kind of flatbread...all in all I was satisfied, thank you 🙏

Super authentic Indian cuisine.

Worst Indian restaurant in Berlin. Food tastes like nothing. The food isn't even Indian. No spices, no sentence. 2 minutes after order is on the table. I'll never come to this weird cafeteria again.

Staff was very friendly and the food was very delicious also the drinks,"oh my god" drinks were super. So, I recommend this restaurant is the best in berlin for food and drinks

Really good service! Quick and efficient. It was late and still they served us (around 10pm). It was very hot and there’s no fans or anything but nothing they can do about it. I didn’t like that they allow people to smoke on the outdoor sitting area, it wasn’t nice while we were eating.

Good location if you are staying in city centre but quite average Indian food. Food was quite basic and does not reflect authentic indian food / home cooked Indian food.

Business lunch is awesome. The food is to die for (613 highly recommended, buttery chicken). The price level is almost as good as before Corona. The service is incredibly accommodating and friendly. Great recommendation! I'll be back.

Great location. Food: Tasty and plentiful (who eats that much rice?) Cocktails: Permanent happy hour - cocktails for 6.90! ...also Long Island Iced Tea and Adios Amigo - boy oh boy...

We had the tandorri chicken and the potato balls with cashew sauce and both were incredibly tasty. The waitresses are friendly and quick. We were very happy that we discovered Bombay🙃

Bad service. Doesn't seem interested in having guests. Took a long time to even order food and drinks. Didn't even have ice cream listed on the menu.

We had dinner there yesterday to celebrate my sister's birthday and sat outside. The first round of drinks came quickly and was delicious too. The food was also served quickly. Unfortunately the food was only lukewarm, the rice served was cold and the portions were very small. I had the Shahi Paneer for €16 and only had 8 small paneer cubes in my sauce. It's understandable that the prices are higher than at other Indian restaurants, but in terms of taste and quantity, it was definitely not worth the €16. The rest of the service was subpar and disgraceful: When it started to rain outside we were literally left out in the rain and didn't help us move inside. We then went in and were then ignored for quite a while and not served further. When we asked for the menu for another round of drinks, the waitress told us it was the last round. The second cocktail we got was simply undrinkable and no effort was clearly made. The remaining tables were quickly checked in and five minutes later the waitress explained to us and the other tables that we were not allowed to drink in the restaurant but had to pour everything into plastic cups and leave. One of the waiters then handed out the plastic cups with the words "I hate the thought, but they have to go" and simply poured the drinks into the plastic cups and simply took my water glass that I hadn't finished yet. The European Championship public viewing of Slovenia against Portugal was simply switched off in the 93rd minute of the game and we weren't even allowed to watch the game to the end. It wasn't even 11 p.m. and the restaurant's official opening time is actually until midnight, according to the website. We were then no longer allowed to use the upstairs toilets, so there was a queue at the only toilet downstairs due to the last guests. The waitress was constantly pestering us to ask if we were finally ready. When we told her that the behavior was outrageous, she just said "It has to end at some point" and mimicked my sister outside while locking the door. I have never experienced such outrageous behavior and such lousy service and I am quite shocked that people behave like this towards paying guests. But the restaurant probably lives on Friedrichstr. only from its walk-in customers and doesn't have to make any effort to encourage guests to return with friendly service.

Food was good but not special. Unfortunately the mixed grill was without sauce. Service was normal. Atmosphere could be a bit better. Prices are very affordable. For a quick and normal bite, you can go for this restaurant.

Waiter got our food order wrong multiple times. We were served our main courses before our plates were taken away. Chicken pakora tasted processed and didn’t sit well in all 6 of our stomachs. Peshwari Naan was covered in fruit, not the best. Curry’s were all round good, however service, starters and Naan breads were all pretty poor, leaving us with a sleepless night.

The atmosphere is calm and vibrant and matches the vibe of Friedrichstraße. Food is good, have a small menu to maintain the quality . Overall satisfied

This place was not good. I ordered a vegetarian dish and it didn’t taste good. It was only tomato sauce based gravy. The biryani did not have any good flavour in it. It was bland. The chicken dish did not have much masala. I feel this is not suited for Indians. I felt they just gave us the yesterday’s food. If the ratings for this restaurant is higher then better restaurants are getting 4.0 or even lower rating even if their food tastes better and is better in quality, which is not good.

Bij aankomst plaats genomen buiten, maar verhuisd naar binnen i.v.m. een zeer luidruchtige groep engelse mannen. Heerlijk gegeten: lam en kip tikka gerecht met rijst en groenten, met daarbij een frisse salade. Vooraf samosa genomen. Het hoofdgerecht kwam erg snel na de samosa. De tikka en de rijst waren heerlijk, er had alleen iets meer kip in gemogen. Met een heerlijke fles Chardonnay de maaltijd gecompleteerd. Restaurant is een aanrader!

We had a business menu and it was perfect. The price/performance ratio is mega. There was a salad, a lentil soup with homemade bread and the main course for just under €10 - and that in 2024!

If you are going there for food, don’t. The quality of food is super duper bad, they put tomato sauce in most of the stuff. You can taste the preservatives, I mean if you are charging so much at least put fresh tomatos. But the location is good so if you and service is fine. I would recommend not relating to indian as it’s offensive to our food.

Everything's great, but unfortunately the outside area isn't cleaned, so there's bird droppings on chairs, tree branches everywhere 😢

I didn’t have a good experience, but I need to be precise and say we visited the restaurant almost by the closing time. Nevertheless they allowed us to enter and order food, so I would still expect a good service. Lets s start with the cocktails, the mojito was just sugar and alcohol, the sugar was not crushed, so it was all in the bottom, when I tried to drink only the sugar came up. The pina polada was also only alcool, not properly mixed as expected. About the food I ordered paneer pakoras, the batter was not cooked, inside was all liquid. The chicken was ok Overall I didn’t have a nice experience

Tandori chicken mediocre, the vegetables served with it were unseasoned and burnt. The rest of the food we ordered was okay but also tended to be underseasoned.

It was pretty awkward place; I ordered aperitif at the daytime(2 pm), but the waiter questioned me with shock as if I am doing terrible thing. Nevertheless I was sitting for 2 hours, they didnt come up to check if i want something else.. Instead I went, after I felt like all the male waiters surrounded me and staring at me. I felt it because they were judging me that I ordered one little cocktail(I am a young woman and there were no other customers, so it felt really faulty)

If you want to eat well, this is the place for you. We enjoyed it and were really full. We would love to come back 👍

There are vegan dishes. We sat outside and were served very friendly. The service deduction is for the fact that I specially ordered a vegan curry and asked whether the garlic naan was also vegan. The response was that it could be made vegan. The non-vegan starter salad was still available and it was only when asked that we were informed that it was not vegan. It's a shame that people don't keep something like that in mind or ignore it.

The food was good, Indian is something different. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff was very friendly.

Although all the food looked amazing.. Didn’t taste the Indian food :) tikka masala with no taste, no spice.. the garlic naan bread was very thin and way too sweet - did not enjoy it. Apart that, the roasted potatoes were really nice and good steamed rice, just wish was a bit more flavour in the plate. Although, the selection of drinks and cocktails was amazing and the location + the staff and service was very good

Drinks came super fast, really super fast. I've never experienced that before either. The meal didn't take long either. The service was very attentive and friendly. Food was completely fine, perhaps a bit “little” for my standards. You can do it if you like Indian.

Not at all according to our expectations, we can't remember ever having eaten so badly!!!

Despite reservations, we were assigned the “sinners' table” in a niche right next to the entrance. Here it smelled like urine in the recesses of a train station toilet. After we changed, the waitress had to be asked to wipe the table. The meal contained coriander, which was not stated on the menu. A no-go, considering that 17% of Europeans don't (can't) eat coriander. You will only receive a paper invoice upon request. Maybe the tax office should check the books. The canceled coriander dish was also on the bill. It was only canceled after further inquiries. The atmosphere resembled a crowded train station waiting room in which a “Kessel Buntes” audience was waiting.

Nous avions envie de nous régaler d’un repas indien, nous avons été très déçus. Les plats ne sont pas savoureux, les ingrédients de très mauvaise qualité. Mon riz poulet Biryani n’en avait que le nom, pas la saveur escompté. Les morceaux de poulet étaient grossièrement coupés, et spongieux au goût. Les Seekh Kebab étaient gras et aussi de qualité médiocre. Seul le Dahl tirait son épingle du jeu. Dommage, on y reviendra plus.

It was our first visit one of my friend has recommended me.. it took so long to waiter to take a order for our table and then we have ordered cocktails and starters .. After our starters we all have waited so long and have so much patience that waiter will come to us but he has disappointed us so badly he has passed through the table so many times but do not even once ask to us we wanted to have main course but in the end we went to cash counter and ask him for bill he asked the reason even in last we found his apology was also seems like formality.. I genuinely do not wanna recommend it.. Food was good but waiter service was so bad… May be he thought he won’t get a good tip.. overall bad remarks.

We always enjoy coming here. The food is good and the service is very accommodating.

Unfortunately, we were simply charged extra for the “standard rice” (€2.60) and the (payment) pad was placed so that it was difficult to see it when paying the bill. Since we otherwise had a lovely evening there, it was only (but still) a bitter aftertaste. A pity!

I like the food here, not really any complaints there, with also a good Vegetarian menu. Service is a bit of an questionmark, however food has been prepared quick 😊 especially lunch menu is well priced ⭐️ and recommended.

We were here once in the summer of 2018, back then on the outdoor terrace, and were thrilled. Because of its proximity to the Friedrichstadtpalast, we opted for the Indian restaurant for dinner this time too - and were disappointed. The impression has arisen that they want to monetize the space advantage at all costs. Five of us were seated at a table (reserved well in advance) that was well occupied by four adults. Overall, the tables were so close that even the service had problems serving individual tables/seats appropriately. After the first round of drinks and the serving of food, the overwhelmed service fell by the wayside. We're still waiting for two drinks today. It's a real shame, we probably won't be guests again.

Very good Indian restaurant with very nice service and reasonable prices.

A good place to grab something to eat after the show at Friedrichstadt-Palast. The spiciness of the food was also suitable for European stomachs. It tasted delicious. The upper area is not suitable for wheelchair users. The toilets are also located there.

It was quite good. The food was brought in copper bowls, which unfortunately gave off heat quickly. A pity.

Nice curry. Very rude staff. Not one smile from any of the staff that came to our table and no asked how our meal was. We certainly weren’t made to feel welcome. Wouldn’t come here again despite good food.

Het eten was top. De sfeer in het restaurant is niet fantastisch maar het eten is heerlijk. Het personeel is vriendelijk en doet zijn/haar best!

Undercooked Chicken Hotchpotch (Khichdi) was served in the name of Chicken Biryani. But the service was relatively good. Especially I would never recommend this restaurant for Biryani.

Beim betreten des Restaurants kam ein starker Geruch von bahnhofstoilette entgegen, eine Mischung aus starken wc Reiniger und …naja Urin. Es wurde auch recht schnell voll und essen wurde zügig verteilt, was dem Geruch zu gute kam. Zur Einrichtung, schlicht einfach wenig Deko ( nen bisschen Kantine ) Mein Stuhl hatte ein wackeliges Bein. Im Herren wc eine Toilette und eine Tür kaputt. Papierhandtücher waren um 19 Uhr auch keine mehr vorhanden. Und der Geruch kam definitiv aus der Toilette. Um nich all zu viel zu meckern, muss man ehrlich sagen, dass das Essen soweit gut war. Raita war etwas nüchtern, Bhatura etwad ölig. Die Hauptspeisen waren lecker …. …. Aber , leider war beim Lamm korma und beim Batak Sabzi sehr wenig Fleisch drin. Verhältnis Fleisch/gemüse 20/80. Alles in allem leider zu teuer 🫰 Es gibt weit bessere Inder wo man günstiger essen kann und das keine 500m weiter entfernt.

Wir waren zu zweit heute zum Mittagstisch essen, Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Essen war gut, uns hat es geschmeckt und wir würden beim nächsten Berlin Besuch wiederkommen 👍

Food is great. Service is also good. Went there twice in my 4 day stay and I was happy.

Waren zum Mittagsessen zu zweit da. Es war ein Samstag und es war viel los. Unser Essen hat ca. 20-25 min gebraucht, bis es serviert wurde. Absolut in Ordnung. Das Essen an sich war sehr ausgewogen und hat gute Aromen hatte. Das Personal fand ich sehr freundlich und nett, würde auf jeden Fall noch mal dahin essen gehen.

Typisch indisches Restaurant, nichts besonderes. Die Linsen super war ok, leider hat man von den Linsen nichts gemerkt. Bedienung war so lala, wirkte etwas überfordert.

Vegetarian order mishap: Got chicken instead. Disappointing lapse in service. Attention to detail needed. Not recommended.

Sehr gutes indisches Essen. Riesige Portionen: Wir essen normalerweise immer aus. Nach 3 Vorspeisen passte das Reis der Hauptspeise aber definitiv nicht mehr rein. Preislich auch TOP.

Best place for Indian food in Berlin

Positive aspects include the pleasant ambiance, delicious naan, and the flavorful malai kofta. On the flip side, the quality of chicken was poor, the use of canned fruits for dessert did not go well with Gulab Jamun, and an unexpected charge of €3 for a glass of hot water was particularly unreasonable. The lack of prior information about the charge was frustrating, had we known earlier, we could have opted for drinks instead of being surprised by the substantial water cost after paying the bill.

nach dem Besuch der Innenstadt und einiger Kilometer in den Beinen haben wir Erholung und Sättigung im Bombay gefunden. Das Restaurant liegt gleich neben dem Friedrichstadtpalast. Es gibt einen Innen- und Außenbereich. Das Ambiente ist schlicht und praktisch. Das Personal ist überaus nett und zuvorkommend, das Essen ist Mega und die Preise sehr gut. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

Super Service, nette und freundliche Kellner und Kellnerin. Für einen netten und ungezwungene Abend einfach Top und unbedingt zu empfehlen.

Ich war am 13.12.2023 um 22:30Uhr mit meinen Kumpels. Wir wollten etwas leckeres speissen und zur Abrundung ein schönen Cocktail schlürfen, stattdessen war der Laden geschlossen und wir konnten nicht mal rein.😡 wozu sind wir 1std mit dem Zug gefahren uns wurde der Laden empfohlen als leckeres indisches Restaurant, stattdessen schließen die Mitarbeiter bzw. der Leiter des Ladens (Chef) den Laden fast 2std früher. Ich bin echt verärgert. Schreibt bitte in eure Google Öffnungszeiten die richtige Überzeit das würde mir und auch den anderen Kunden zur Gunste kommen schönen Tag noch. Ps. Für mich kein erneutes wieder gehen.

For customers: One Lady employee (Waitress) was deliberately ver rude with us and later got to know she is the same with all the other Indian customer. On the other hand,she was very sweet with other nationalities. I have shared my bad experiences as a review in Google while I was in the restaurant. As soon as the review was updated. The waiter and waitress informed us they wouldn't serve us next time as I have given them a bad review. This is really bad. They should be trained well on how to treat the customers.On top of this both the waiter/waitress have updated their reviews on Google to cover my review and this is the worst part. Post my dinner at Mumbai Local berlin restaurant, I was checking all the reviews and for every 1 out of 5 reviewers have mentioned about the lady waitress rude behaviour. I have also observed a pattern in their reviews, as soon as the negative comment is being added up, they are covering it by adding some random positive comments and this is not the healthy. For Restaurant Management/Owner I would like to advice the restaurant manager/owner to take care of such ugly behaviour.This would effect your business a lot for sure. Trust me. Mouth publicity is the key for any food-chain business and your business would turn upside down if this kind of behaviour is continued by your employees.

The Food is not at all like indian food.. there is ONLY suger in Shahi paneer and butter chicken. NOTHING GOOD.worst food i ever had

Es war ein toller Abend und das Essen und der Service waren Topp. 👍🙂 Ich werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen. 🧡 Den frischen Ingwer Tee kann ich besonders empfehlen.

Ein super symphatisches Restaurant mit freundlichem und kompetenten Personal einer gemütlichen Atmosphäre und super leckerem Essen und Cocktails. Wir können es jedem nur empfehlen dort einmal einzukehren.

Gutes Essen zu einem fairen Preis.

Just overall poor. The quality of all the food was just not nice. The only thing that was edible was the garlic naan. The chicken tasted horrible and the onion bajis were onion rings (Mental!). If you are someone who likes your curry do not waste your time here I’m sure there are better places in Berlin.

Shocking service. Never seen a more miserable looking waitress. Food was even worse. Chicken was processed garbage. The bread is the only reason they got 1 star.

Food was okay and quite expensive. I found it overpriced looking at the taste, there are definitely better Indian restaurants in town.

Waren heute zu zweit da. Es ist ein Sonntag und es war viel los. Unser Essen hat ca. 30 min gebraucht, bis es serviert wurde. Absolut in Ordnung. Leider war das Essen nur lau warm und für den Preis hat man wenig Fleische zu sehr viel Reis bekommen. Das Essen an sich war sehr ausgewogen und hat gute Aromen. Der Nachtisch war leider ein Reinfall. Die süßen Griesbälle waren leider nicht der Star von Gericht und das Obst kam offenbar aus der Dose.

Not only did the waitress not return my change but we were given the wrong dishes, the madras was probably one of the worst my husband has ever had ( with a distinct vinegar chemical taste) and the butter chicken tasted very powdery! We were very disappointed and would tell any English visitors (who are used to Indian curries) to avoid it like the plague! Imagine the worst curry you've ever had in the UK and this will beat it hands down!

Guter Service, das Essen war schnell am Tisch und sehr schmackhaft. Beim Verlassen hatte ich meinen Einkauf am Tisch vergessen aber der Service hatte es bemerkt und brachte mir den Einkauf nach, Dankeschön.

Zum Mittagstisch kommen wir gerne hierher. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist gut, das Essen kommt schnell, schmeckt lecker und wird auch schön serviert. Es gibt einen kleinen Salat, eine Suppe und einen Hauptgang an 7,90€ bis 11,90€. Am liebsten sitzen wir draußen unter den Bäumen, drinnen gefällt es uns nicht so gut.

One of the best top 5 punjabi kitchens, clean and tasty meals every time, but I wouldn’t recommend the peahwari naan here which isn’t what it supposed to be. Otherwise it’s a amazing place to be in
