Böhms Herrenkeller in Nürnberg

I came to the restaurant with my wife with the intention of having something to eat. Almost every table had a “Reserved” sign on it. We asked if there was room for 2 people. We got a short answer that there was still something free in the corner. With an unfriendly wave of the hand, the menus were placed on the table. We didn't like the atmosphere and didn't want to let it ruin what had been a lovely day. So we decided to leave the restaurant without eating. We can't judge the food.

The best dishes of traditional Franconian cuisine are freshly prepared: the Schäufele, the sauerbraten and the duck are excellent. It is possible to drink not only beer, but also good wine.

All in all it was good. The service could have been a bit friendlier and more attentive. But the food was delicious! Unfortunately the beer consisted more of foam than liquid...

I loved the homely atmosphere of this place; it feels like a family owned business. Our waitress was likely the owner and she was absolutely wonderful. The food was great too. Just be aware that they accept cash only for lunch.

Eten was goed in een Duitse ambiance en de bediening was top, gezellig en vrolijk. De dame in de bediening liep alleen en het restaurant was vol, de bediening was vlot en goed en een vriendelijk woord met een gemeende lach.

We got a table for 2 people without a reservation, but you should definitely make a reservation for the evening. The service was super committed and accommodating without being intrusive. The dishes were beautifully prepared and tasted very good, and the portions were filling. The two of us paid €60, which was perfectly fine.

We came for lunch and it is cash only for lunch. We each had a special. I had sausages with roasted potatoes and pickled cabbage. My sister had the pork schnitzel with French fries and mixed salad. The portions were huge! I took away four sausages out of seven.

Simple and good home cooking. The beer (what do you actually expect in Franconia) is of course delicious and fresh (it tastes best from the tap.

A very pleasant surprise, not only good food but the friendliness of the waitress. I will definitely come back. The KellerBier is also very good.

When we arrived around 7:00 p.m. all the seats inside were empty but apparently everything outside was full. We could wait outside (drinks only at the table) until someone leaves or go somewhere else. - We did.

Can not say enough about this restaurant. Good location, great service, outstanding food, great ambiance, quaint family run restaurant with a homey feel. It was a little warm inside for dinner during July but would visit again for the good and service.

I went into a business trip and I wanted local food, I saw this place well ranked in maps so I decided to visit them. My hole experience was super nice due to the waitress, my food was good, so warm that I felt in home , beer was delicious. Thank you for the kindness waitress to make my experience the best🙂

Great restaurant with good cuisine and nice staff

A manageable menu but with the finest roasts etc! Separate children's menu, oh very tasteful. Very cozy, rustic atmosphere and courteous service. All of this in the heart of Nuremberg impressed me!

Franconian restaurant with winding architecture. The classics (Schäufele, ...) are okay but nothing special. Service is sometimes a bit absent. Prices are ok. Seems to have good reviews in English language guides.

Delicious, lovely local restaurant in the old town. Recommended by our hotel for local and authentic German cuisine, we were happy to get in without a reservation. The food and service were fantastic, and we would highly recommend a visit. Very close and walkable to Hotel Victoria and the main train station. Relatively small, quiet and clean in addition to a great menu. Now, if we could only get the recipe for their yummy yogurt based salad dressing too! Highly recommend Bohm's!

First Schäufele I've eaten. Super, super tasty. Small, quaint restaurant. Quite old, but everything is good. I would go there again.

How often have I walked past Theatergasse, never noticing the cozy restaurant with half-timbered windows. Probably because the location is most likely to be a tourist trap. My visit on Saturday evening was excellent. The number of tables in the cozy dining room is manageable and the friendly service had the place under control, as they say casually. The paper napkins on the classically set tables are still broken by hand, it looks inviting. The cellar beer from the St. Georgen Brewery, unspun as it declares itself, is served in a 0.4l stein and is a revelation. Crowned with dense, hoppy foam, for me it belongs to the master class of Franconian brewing art. The menu offers Franconian butcher classics as well as seasonal daily specials. Yesterday, for example, schnitzel with asparagus and potatoes. Occasionally you could hear the cook pounding the pieces of pork until they were soft. What a pleasantly dull bass from the kitchen, as it promises that everything is cooked a la minute, freshly and that the Metro schnitzels don't fall into the deep fryer, as is often the case today. We ourselves ordered the Schäufele with sauerkraut and dumpling and were very satisfied. A juicy braised piece with a fresh crust, very fine sauerkraut, creamy and vinous like I love it. Such a delicious dish for less than €20 is rare, but it speaks for Franconia as a gourmet country per se and for the owners as friendly and calculating. In short, if they didn't have a closing time, we would still be sitting today... Many thanks to the Herrenkeller team.

Excellent delicious crispy pork shoulder and duck, with warm environment and service

Traditional food, big portions, friendly staff and a central location. Just take the kellerbeer, you don't need the Erdinger weiss.

I visited because the Google Map reviews were good. They said they couldn't pay by credit card and asked if it was okay. Luckily, the menu I received after taking a seat had explanations in English below the German, so I was able to check the contents. From the top, I ordered the first dish (sausage) and the second dish (pork shoulder, Schweinhakse). I was very satisfied. Schweinhakse, which looked like fried pig's feet, was very delicious, with the natural flavor of the meat and a texture that varied between crispy and chewy. The sausage was also fresh and fragrant with herbs in it. There was a generous amount of pickled cabbage (sauer kraut) in each menu, but I don't think I would have been able to eat it all because it was too greasy without it. There is also potato rice cake (knoedul), so you can eat a variety of carbohydrates, so this is enough for two adult men. Actually, I was so full that I left some... We shared a glass of beer here, a Pilsner and a Weizenbier, but I liked the richer-flavored Weizenbier better. It was delicious, but I got so drunk that I couldn’t even finish one glass haha. The restaurant owner or the server, who was wearing traditional German clothing, was so kind that I gave him a tip. It's not Korean-style friendly, but when I was worried about choosing food and beer menus, they gave me recommendations, asked me about the taste of the food, and seemed to be indifferent. Please note that entry by one person is not allowed!

The food was very good and Alina was a committed, friendly service person who was open to special requests. Unfortunately, the light beer is a bit weak in taste and falls behind most other offerings in Nuremberg.

Lovely little restaurant with a calm homely atmosphere. We had the Schnitzel with chips, which was also accompanied by an ample bowl of delicious salad. The service was also impeccable. A real taste of Franconia/Bavaria/Germany.

This was a step up from some of the other German restaurants we tried in Nuremberg. Delicious food with excellent sauces and gravies. The dishes are traditional Franconian, so don't expect fine dining subtlety. Rather, they are hearty and welcoming, perfect for the chilly night when we walked in. Friendly and helpful service. We went back a second time during our stay.

Small menu (significantly smaller than online), but very tasty dishes at fair prices. We had 2x pork shovels and a fish dish. Everything was very tasty and more than adequately portioned. The ~500 year old building is a highlight. The service was quick and personable. The atmosphere in the dining room at the front left was a bit strange. Despite being full, it was very quiet and at many tables there was little or very quiet conversation. Would come again.

I haven't eaten so well in a long time. Really very tasty. The staff was also very nice. Unfortunately it was extremely warm inside in summer. Luckily you can also sit outside.

Unglaublich origineller Abend! Auf der Suche nach einer originellen Lokalität sind wir hier gelandet und waren begeistert! Das Gebäude wirkte von innen und außen urig! Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und auf Zack und passte zum Lokal! Das Bier im Steinkrug lecker und das Essen der Wahnsinn! Wir hatten Tafelspitz und Sauerbraten… den besten bis zum heutigen Tag! Als Verdauerli gabs nen brennenden Wurzhüttengeist und danach zum Dessert „Karthäuserklösse“. Fazit… perfekter Abend! Tipp: unbedingt reservieren, da es immer voll ist!

Almost immediately after the Sauerbraten I had a thin whistle... I'm lactose intolerant. It could have said somewhere that there was milk in it...

The Nuremberg bratwursts with sauerkraut were great, the cheese spaetzle was excellent. Particularly noteworthy are the homemade fried onions. The store is really worth it.

Nothing to say. The best place in the area. Very few places and it is better to book but it is really worth it.

This is a typical bierkeller run by a family. Packed with locals so be sure to book (by 'phone). Great environment and excellent beer (of course). I had the Bratwurst with potato salad. Excellent and inexpensive.

10/10 Whould Recommend for Traditional German/European Food! We were there on Wednesday, February 28th, the service was very nice (it was great that the staff wore dirndls), the food was absolutely first class and we will definitely come back. And we got a table for two even though it was a trade fair, we were absolutely super lucky and in such a great restaurant too!

Update Jan 24: I wanted to give the place another chance and really wanted to try it again. Unfortunately, people are not interested in spontaneous visits, only in closed groups. There was light, the board for the daily specials is outside and the closed company sign on the inside door. However, there was no one there...neither guests nor staff...very very strange. It's a mystery to me how this place can survive... One can only hope that a new operator can be found. Winter 2022: Unfortunately it's no longer possible. Slow, rude reception. Almost all tables are empty. Four other people left with us because no staff was interested in coming guests. After waiting for a while, a female Eastern European waitress called us and asked us to prepare for "Corona", only to ultimately just leave us there with ID and cell phone and fogged-up glasses. If you assume that 6 people around 25.- E p. If you leave P. there and probably won't come anymore or less often in the future, then that was a real success for the operator...It's nice to have employees like that. The empty restaurant and the current strange atmosphere speak volumes. With this staff it won't work. It's a shame about the beautiful restaurant... I won't be recommending it anymore. Former. It was quite cold in the back “room”! From the ambience as well as the room temperature. The sauerbraten was okay because it wasn't hot, so okay! My colleague's Schäuferla was significantly better! Big, hot and delicious! Nevertheless, these economies must continue to be supported!!!!

The schnitzel wiener art was really good, tasty and a full meal, the salad accompanying it also tasty! The beer was tasty and the service was good! I will return here on my next visit to Nürnberg!

뉘름베르크 도착하자마자 간곳 3시부터는 브레이크 타임이여서 2시까지만 주문받음. 양이 정말 많아서 먹다가 포장해옴. 감자는쫀득쫀득한 식감이여서 재미지고 흰색은 무??같은데 김치맛나서 신기함 서빙해주시는분 친절하고 음식도 맛있었음. 현금결제만 가능함

Schöne Ambiente und guter Service.. Essen ok, Schäufele gute Kruste, aber etwas trocken/kaum Sauce, Ente ok, aber klein, Sauerbraten zu süß/zuviel Lebkuchengewürz..

Sehr nette Kellnerin, das Essen war auch sehr gut. Der Preis für 1/2 Liter stilles Wasser mit über 6 Euro finde ich zu hoch.

This place is fantastic! I loved the attention of staff, food (especially meat prepared in a local style that has a sauce that tastes like Christmas). I recommend to book a table, because the restaurant gets busy during the day and in the evening.

Wir haben uns zum zweiten Mal hier eingefunden. Es gibt gutes Bier und bodenständige deutsche Küche. Wer das mag, ist hier wirklich gut aufgehoben. Leider wurden wir nicht darauf hingewiesen, dass die Küche in 21:00 Uhr schließt. Ansonsten hätten wir gerne noch mehr bestellt.

Essen war ok. Nicht mehr, nicht weniger. Für die kleine Portion allerdings etwas zu teuer.

Sehr gutes Restaurant mit bodenständiger, fränkischer Küche. Die Einrichtung ist urig. Der Service ist freundlich und schnell. Faire Preise. Kartenzahlung möglich.

Leider merkte man, dass aktuell in Nürnberg Messe ist oder aber die Preise sind für den Christkindlmarkt schon vorsorglich angehoben worden. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt aktuell, meiner Meinung nach, nicht mehr. Zudem waren die Portionen, abgesehen von der 1/4 Ente, eher klein.

Sehr urigen Wirtshaus, es war eine Zeitreise ins alte Bayern.

Typisches Nürnberger Gasthaus. Urig. Sehr große Portionen. Hat toll geschmeckt.

Tolles Ambiente und klasse Service! Das Essen ist sehr lecker und der Service ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sehr zu empfehlen! Der Sauerbraten und der Kaiserschmarren sind für mich das Highlight dort!

I went here last night. The food, drink and hospitality were amazing. I had the pork shoulder and it was a delight. The waitress was charming and attentive and the beer was also great. Definitely worth booking if you are visiting.

Für 19€ fand ich meinen Semmelkloss eher unspannend, auf jeden Fall überteuert. Hier sollte zumindest am Salat gespart und mehr an Pilzen zugelegt werden. Gerne auch eine zusätzliche Komponente hinzufügen oder den Preis reduzieren. Der gut gefüllte Bartwurst-Teller war zwar auch nichts Besonderes, kostete aber auch 4€ weniger. Das Kellerbier vom ist zu empfehlen. Bedienung war freundlich und kommunikativ. Etwas mehr Licht würde dem Ort gut tun.

Wife ,two kids and I had an enjoyable time here food was well priced and huge portions the wife and I had the 6 sausages and sour crout and the kids had the snitzel both where delicious the waiter was attentive and very nice

Just off the tourist track this is a authentic German restaurant with a pleasant decor and good service. A pork rack with crackling and dumpling and a spätzle bother nicely done with some nice beer followed by a Riesling. The Apple strudel was not that good but all in all a very pleasant experience.

Beim Schäuble war alles Top, die Kruste perfekt. Bier war auch lecker. Klein und uhrig. Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Empfehlung am besten vorher reservieren.

Bohm's Herrenkeller was our first restaurant in Germany. After many multi-ethnic meals in the Czech Republic, we were looking for an authentic German meal in Nuremberg. We weren’t disappointed. One short turn off of the main pedestrian path brings you to this charming Franconian dining spot. We were warmly greeted by our server Gabby, who patiently assisted us with the menu. I thoroughly enjoyed my schnitzel, chips and salad. My wife enjoyed her grilled sausage, roasted potatoes and salad. Other diners highly recommended the pork shoulder. Warm and non-touristy, it’s a lovely spot.

Als Familie mittags im Herrenkeller. Frisch geklopftes Schnitzel, saftiges Schäufele mit knackiger Kruste, zartes Zanderfilet und Sauerbraten in Lebkuchensoße. Alles herrlich lecker, preislich fair und ordentliche Portion. Die Bedienung war super freundlich. In Nürnberg muss man zum Herrenkeller.

Just had a fantastic meal here. The food was excellent and a lovely atmosphere. The building is full of history and lots of photographs etc around. We were served by Julia who was really lovely and so smiley and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she made some good recommendations. She made our visit.
