Our favorite place for tapas! We always enjoy visiting Bodega Im Scheffel, even with friends. Personally, I find the tapas to be excellent; the daily specials are well-thought-out and offer something for every taste. The wine selection leaves nothing to be desired. The beautiful ambiance and the friendly, attentive staff make every visit special, almost like a little vacation!

Historical building, inside is very comfortable, unique, stylish decorated. Friendly, non intrusive personnel. Spanish flare. Food was tasty and the way it was served was also beautiful. This place is definitely a jem worth revisiting & showing to friends.

Aside from the beautiful ambiance and the perfect attention to detail, the food is simply outstanding. You can really feel that the chef lives and breathes his restaurant, and this is reflected in everything. We were upstairs with the whole company. It was such a great evening at Bodega! The service is excellent. The ambiance is truly iconic; there's something new to discover everywhere. The tapas were all so delicious. All in all, we were all extremely satisfied. We even closed the deal.

Unfortunately disappointing – despite the friendly service from the waitresses Four of us went there for tapas and drank wine, beer, and water. The food was good, and the bill of €140 was fair. Unfortunately, the evening was significantly marred by the behavior of the manager – as on previous visits. We gave the place several chances, but on each visit, the manager displayed the same condescending and uncustomer-oriented behavior. The waitresses, on the other hand, were always friendly and helpful – kudos to them! It's all the more incomprehensible that the manager apparently believes his arrogant manner is well-received. Instead of genuine hospitality, he encountered a mocking tone, little understanding, and no respect for guests. On our last visit, we wanted to redeem a €50 voucher. The total bill was €140 – so €90 to pay. I paid €150 in cash. Instead of a normal checkout, we were greeted with a smug, "Is there enough money?" Change? No luck. Only after repeated inquiries did it become clear that they had overcharged. Again, no apology, instead the next comment – ​​"Can I leave something for the girls?" No chupito on the house, no sign of genuine sympathy or hospitality – nothing. It's a shame, because the place has potential. But this tone and attitude towards paying guests only leaves a bitter aftertaste. Conclusion: Unfortunately – truly unfortunately – not recommended. We wanted to like it, but it just doesn't work.

Eigentlich ein tolles Restaurant, aber der Service hat zu wünschen übrig gelassen. Wir waren zu viert und alle hatten den ganzen Abend den Eindruck vom Service ignoriert zu werden. Schade, da wir eigentlich immer gerne hier waren…

The restaurant is very cozy with friendly staff and sometimes decent food—although the tapas aren't recommended. Also, don't ask for the so-called 'Aladdin Lamp' (a simple tealight holder with a candle) placed on your table for €5—you really do pay the rental fee.

Authentic Spanish cuisine with delicious tapas and sangria

We were here for the first time today. Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed: the calamar a la plancha lacked any roasted flavors, meaning no color from the plancha, and was heavily seasoned with coriander, something I'm not used to from the Iberian Peninsula. The aioli was also strangely white and stiff, like whipped egg whites. The boquerones fritos were very dry. A shame; we had hoped for more. Otherwise, the place was appealing and the service very friendly.

Great, authentic Spanish food. The atmosphere is fantastic; you feel like you're in a Spanish bodega, and everyone's spirits are extremely high... We'd love to come back!

The food was delicious, and the chef was a true host who knows how to spoil his guests! Reservations are essential; it's very popular!

POSITIVE: The food was a 10 out of 10. The chef did everything right; every dish was divine and arrived hot and fresh. The wine was also delicious. The ambiance was also great, tastefully decorated and inviting. NEGATIVE: The waitress, one of them, looked as if she was completely fed up with what she was doing, not a single smile. She cleared all the plates at the table even though some people were still eating. They could have done a bit better. The manager of the restaurant is nice and greets guests very politely. Even when they forgot one or two dishes and we pointed it out to them, we quickly got the fresh dishes to our table. All in all, I can recommend the restaurant, but the service needs some work.

The food was excellent. Everything was very well seasoned and prepared. The only downside: the tapas portions were too large. I wish they were smaller (and cheaper) so you could order a wider variety.

Before going to this restaurant I read the reviews and took a note of one that said: that the clients found out at home that they had not received certain tapas but had paid for all the dishes and that the owner never responded to their emails about it. So I wrote down everything that we ordered. We waited for about an hour - very weird for tapas as the dishes should arrive just little by little every now and then. But no, here you wait very long and everything arrives at the same time, lots of dishes on the table. The food is not great. I noticed that one of the dishes we ordered was not there. When I asked for the bill, the dish was on the bill. I have a feeling it happens there more often than anyone thinks. I asked the waitress to take the dish off the bill. The owner came, checked our table as if not trusting us and just WALKED OFF!!! NO EXPLANATION and WITHOUT APOLOGISING! Quite shocking. The dish was eventually taken off the bill. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

We've eaten there several times over the past three years! Reservations are recommended, as the bodega is very busy! The owner is very friendly, accommodating, and personable. The staff is equally so. The food is fantastic and the value for money is excellent. We'd love to come back, and for us, the bodega is the best Spanish restaurant in the surrounding area.

We ate at this restaurant with two couples. The ambience is great, the food was good. It is inconvenient that you can only bill per table, not in pairs. Afterwards we noticed that both our friends and we had ordered food that was not served. We ordered a lot of small tapas dishes, so we didn't notice it at first because of the large number. However, they were calculated. An email to draw attention to the situation was ignored. It is clear that days later we cannot ask for any money back for the food that was not delivered. A little feedback would still have been welcome. Since the restaurant is always busy, you probably can't take individual fates into account.

Was here for the first time today... Everything started off great and the food was also really tasty, now we come to the negative part. Two tapas plates were ordered, at that time the very enthusiastic boss came and wanted to do something special for us. We found this very pleasant and thought there was an additional little something from the boss. The special thing, WITHOUT speaking to us beforehand, was apparently the rump steak cut into small pieces for €36.90, which we then discovered in the final bill. In addition, bacon-wrapped dates were delivered to us without having ordered them. In the total bill, this amounted to around €50, which we had neither agreed nor ordered. After I sought a conversation with the boss, he was neither willing to see anything nor accommodate us due to the lack of communication. I've been driving past you for a long time on my bus line 913 and I've always seen how well-attended you are. Today we managed to visit you. Even without a reservation, we were only able to get a place for ourselves and our dog inside in the well-ventilated dining room. The staff and the boss were not only really fast and super nice, but the food was also great. As restaurateurs ourselves, we can only say top...I would give 10 stars if I could. Food fresh/hot/tasty, process, communication between boss and staff and ambience very great. Keep it up and let the people who don't write any criticism, positive or negative, and just get upset about a sign that they don't seem to understand belittle you. Just how many guests want to be your guests says more than just one review. We'll come back if we can manage it again.

A very nice restaurant with good food. We were not served a dish but were charged (9 euros), which we unfortunately only discovered later at home when we looked at the bill. There was no response at all to an email with this information. I didn't expect a voucher, but at least an answer, and a small "I'm sorry" would have been decent. This shows what the guest is worth.

Unfortunately I was very disappointed today. On the one hand, the food was significantly better. On the other hand, we were there with a large group and had already pre-ordered tapas that were to be paid for together. Everyone wanted to pay for drinks and dessert themselves. Unfortunately, this was not possible and there were no compromises! Instead, the boss tried to sell us an expensive olive oil and ended up being anything but friendly! Unfortunately, that was probably the last meal in the bodega for 14 people!

If you don't have a cook at the moment, this is certainly an exceptional situation. But if from a very limited daily menu you can only order products that you can buy in any supermarket and put on a plate, "patatas bravas" turn out to be potato chips from the bag and you have to pay almost 70 euros for them for two people. .... sorry, that's outrageous and embarrassing for the image... The boss's questionable jokes don't help, but rather make the situation worse. I know the bodega from earlier times. Whether I'll ever come back is questionable, probably not... PPS: You get the impression that positive Google reviews are being faked here.

Very disappointed with the entire team. On the occasion of a birthday, a table for several people was ordered and confirmed. Today on November 6th, 2024 we stood in front of a closed door, closed due to illness. Despite knowing the phone number and email address, there was no rejection. We arrived from more than 30km away because we followed a recommendation.

We came, they told us that the chef is not at the work right now and they have only cold snacks. We ordered potato (2,50€) and received just crisps for package… then we ordered jamon (6,50€) and sardellen (6,50€), and one drink - orange juice. When we asked for a bill, they told us to pay 28€. We still don’t understand for what, because the prices in menu are quite different… Strange place.

Restaurant without a chef, difficult. My dates definitely looked different today than in the pictures. Making two drinks out of one shandy, mixing them yourself, exciting, you could also ask the guest if they would like it that way. As a culinary highlight, potato chips doused with oil. My conclusion for today, once okay, definitely not a second time.

Very nice location with delicious, typical Spanish dishes. Friendly staff. But as a "new guest" you also notice that many "amigos" (regular guests) are treated differently. We had reserved 14 days in advance - and unfortunately only got a "cat table" at the quick entrance (we would just reserve a specific table next time). But overall, a visit is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended, this Spaniard.

Eten in deze Bodega is een aanrader. Mooi op elkaar afgestemde gerechten. Met ontzettend vriendelijk personeel dat je in het Spaans begroet bij binnenkomst. Wij kwamen spontaan binnen lopen en zagen dat alle tafels gereserveerd waren. Maar dat deerde niet, er werd een tafel voor twee vrijgemaakt zodat we van de gastvriendelijkheid en het lekker eten konden genieten.

Very nice atmosphere. The food wasn't really my thing, the starters were very good, the warm tapas were too oily or too bland for me personally. Cream Katalana was delicious, but unfortunately the sugar crust was burnt and therefore partly bitter. It was very crowded and therefore very loud. All in all, if you like tapas, this is the place for you. Not right for me personally.

Tisch 2 Wochen vorher reserviert, es gab kurzzeitig Probleme mit dem Tisch vor Ort. Das Essen war mal was anderes allerdings nichts Besonderes. Geschmacklich für MICH kein Highlight. Bei der Abrechnung mit Karte versuchte man mir einen anderen Tisch zu verkaufen, anstatt 180€ sollte ich fast 250€ bezahlen. Hat aber nicht funktioniert nachdem der Chef begriffen hatte an welchem Tisch wir gesessen haben. Ernüchterndes Fazit für mich: In dieses Restaurant kriegt mich keiner mehr. Viel zu hohe Preise für "normales" Essen. Hatte ich mir anders vorgestellt.

Meine Freundin und ich waren gestern Abend essen. Das Ambiente ist wunderschön. Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam. Auch der Chef war als Gastgeber sehr zuvorkommend. Über das Essen können wir nur positives berichten. Es war sehr lecker. Bestimmt kommen wir wieder!

Die Reservierung am Telefon war schon super sympathisch! Bei der Begrüßung mit direkter Ansprache von Vornamen wusste man, der Mann hat die Gastronomie verstanden und der Gast steht im Mittelpunkt! Service ist aus meiner Sicht das absolute Highlight im Laden. Spaß, Witz und immer das Wohl im Auge! Das Ambiente ist absolut toll. Altes Gemäuer im Stil eines urigen Getreide- oder Handelshaus. Die Kulisse ist super. Mit tollen altem Weinkeller inkl. tiefen Brunnen. Der Haupt-Gastraum besteht aus zwei Ebenen. Super charismatisch. Steht im Einklang mit dem Service. Das Essen könnte für meinen Geschmack etwas mehr Würze vertragen. Gerade bei den gebratenen Chorizo fehlt der Kick. Ich würde die Würzstärke als „eingedeutscht“ bezeichnen. Kennt man aus Spanien anders. Geschmacklich ist es sonst gut! Hohe Anzahl von Variationen und für jeden was dabei. Perfekte Größe der Tapas, so dass man man ruhig 2-3 locker essen kann. Auch wenn mal was nicht glatt läuft, stößt man auf ein offenes Ohr! Vielen Dank dafür! Preislich nicht günstig aber auch nicht aus der Welt. Und für das Gesamtpaket gerne bereit zu bezahlen. Fazit: Immer wieder gerne!
